I just realised a visualisation I had was a prediction.

Some weeks ago I was reading a topic on this forum, where someone mentioned they got bitten by a bug which resulted in them not getting to sleep, or waking up, or something.

When I read it I got this sense that it was something that doesn't happen to me,because there are almost never bugs in my room and I usually sleep 100% covered by blankets. I had a visualization of my own bed and a person lying in a it a certain way with their back slightly exposed but still under the blanket and this resulting in getting bitten.

I went to bed last night not realising I was in the exact position I imagined. and then as I was drifing off to sleep I felt a sting and on my back there was then a bite mark. I felt it and the visualisatio flashed back and I tripped out. Obv it could be a coincidence but later that same night I had another flashback to something that happened occurred.

It wasn't deja vu, it was a full blown thought that I remember having significantly in my head. This has never ever happened to me before. Ever since I started lucid dreaming and thinking about the shit I always do, my mind has bumped up inefficiency. I'm doing more work that needs to be done, my dream recall is improving like crazy, I have more motivation, good things are happening everywhere, I feel better all the time, and now that something like this has happened I'm extremely intrigued.

I always held psychic ability in the back of my mind as one of those things I can't say for sure about. But now I'm 90% positive that it wasn't a coincidence. I'm going to keep an eye on my significant visualizations and see what happens.

Edit: I'm now wondering if/how this could connect with telepathy/ shared dreaming. Are these abilities linked? I don't know.

Neat screen name! I absolutely believe in psychic abilities, but I think this situation as you've described it is more what Carl Jung termed "synchronicity," which I think actually comes from the same Source as psychic connections, i.e., Spirit, God/dess, Universal Mind, the All-That-Is. It's like a way Spirit has of waving "Hi, I'm here! See me?" The term means "meaningful coincidence." The key is it has to have meaning to you, which this incident of the bug bite did because of what you'd previously read and thought about. I think that synchronicity is really a psi (scientific community's term for psychic) event, but one that happens when we're awake. Jung, who had to maintain his standing in the psychiatric and scientific community without being laughed out of town, called it an "acausal principle." But Jung was privately a very spiritual man, with a spirit guide named Philemon. I think Spirit is the cause, and that really, Jung knew it, but couldn't say it.

I don't see telepathy or shared dreaming in this, really, though yes, telepathy can be part of a shared dream. Telepathy is being able to send and receive thoughts to/from another person. You can hear each others thoughts in your head. It happens most easily in the dream state. But the bug actually coming and biting you is synchronicity. The more you pay attention to this stuff and think about it, the more it will happen! Working with interpreting dreams will expand it as well. It's fun, isn't it? :boogie:

I understand what you mean about the meaningful coincidence thing. I often think of that too in a different way. For example, one of my frends, who's a very interesting character was away for a few weeks, I look at the sky and see a one bird hovering around alone, and for some reaosn that bird gives me the feeling of similar traits as my friend who's away, so I say that bird is an element of my friend to me, because it has significance to me, and because both my friend and the bird are things experienced in my head, I can make them whatever I want. maybe that's a bit different, but it reminded me of it.

oh, I almost forgot, this might be nothing but yesterday I was having an MSN chat and I got this feeling of deja vu except the event that I had dejavu'd didn't happen, it was like.. the real life event was abotu to happen, and the first instant of it the entire scene flashed intomy head, but the dejavu image I had didn't happen in real life, because as soon as I felt it, I stopped saying what I was going to and told my friend that I had just had deja vu. And I had a very specific image of us making some kind of deal. But it didn't happen. As if knowing cancelled it out. it may be just nothing but, worth mentioning I guess.

My favorite example of synchronicity is in one of Carl Jung's books, the one he wrote for laymen. It tells of a woman who had ordered a blue dress, and on the day it was to be delivered, she received a call telling her that her aunt had died, and then the dress was delivered, and by "mistake" they sent a black dress. This is synchronicity, because we traditionally wear black for funerals. So seeming "mistakes" like that are often not really mistakes, but Spirit's way of making us aware that more is going on than we may realize.

I was worried about paying for another test Lily needs, as I'm still paying off my property taxes (part of which are a little bit late), and was sputtering at my guide as I carried the mail in. A bit later I sat down and opened the mail, and I got a $200.00+ rebate check from my oil company, who is refunding overpayments from last winter when the oil prices dropped! That too is synchronicity, and a really neat one, since I can make her appointment now. She needs a heart worm test and a year of the medicine to prevent it, and that will be more than enough to cover it! So, I'm happy with that... but it's so funny I was sputtering at him, and it was, unknown to me, already in my hand.

Oh, now that is cool! I think a lot of precognitive dreams are there to help us avoid or change things, so maybe this deal wouldn't have been a good thing for you. I've known people who have prevented car accidents because they dreamt them with enough detail to recognize the scene when they got to it, like they knew it was on a bridge and it was snowing and there was a red truck involved, and so when they saw themselves approaching the scene, they changed their behavior from what they did in the dream, and the accident didn't happen, or at least, it didn't happen to them... I think in that incident the red truck still skidded on the bridge, but even it wasn't substantially damaged as it would otherwise have been. It's pretty wonderful when that happens, for sure!

I think precognition of the future is actually showing us a possible future, maybe a warning. For, example, 44cal, have you considered that maybe you were being warned that if you slept with your skin exposed like that you were going to be bitten?

I think sometimes when we have precognitions, then get disappointed when the event doesn't happen, it's not because we're not psychic, it's because we avoided a toxic incident.

This makes me wonder how could the mind be linked with this stuff. It's like everything occurs in a balance and cooincidences just happen via some kind of mental butterfly effect.

I'll have to think about all this more, and I'll also mention again that this has been happening quite a lot. I find I'm constantly thinking of things before they happen in the way that could easily be a predictable cooincidence, but the amount that it's actually happening makes me things it's meaningful. (well, usually it's not that predictable, it's never really.. OBVIOUS, but it normally feels like a pretty lucky guess.)
