Can someone clear up information about shared dreaming?

One thing i wanna say, although i am skeptic of SD's.

Isn't life like shared dreaming? while we all got different perceptions, if there is a chair infront of me, you will see it aswell. If i tell you "My name is LucidFlanders", you will know what i just said, and can repeat it back to me. All these images created by the brain show the eye what it will look like, it's like that for every person unless they are blind, but blind people can feel us aswell. We all seem to share the same reality, like we are all in eachothers dream.

Thing is as far as we know, dreams are just a world within your mind. Its being able to connect to other peoples minds across the globe that leaves confusion. Could our thoughts really travel that far?

Mine is more of a shared reality. Seems we are not individuals, or we would see only what we see, and nobody else would see what we see but something different. Shared dreams if true i guess would mean we are individuals in another type of realiy, a dream reality, and we can break away from the barrier, but when we enter a shared dream, we share both partys realitys, so it's more we are an individual sharing our reality which seems not so hard to do, we all see the same reality in waking life.

If we are just a brain, our chemicals, shouldn't we be just individuals and see only what we wanna see, instead of everyone seeing the exact same thing? of course from here on you can change to alot of theorys, like everyone is just a DC. The skeptics is your own skepticism, the believers is your beliefs, but i am not going to go that deep.

I was wondering if I accidentally had a shared dream two days a go. I was dreaming about being in my old house, and there were people there that I knew but there were also random people that I couldn't focus on. Just as "shared dreamers" say, its like there was a presense there. Last night I had another LD. There was a DC upstairs that I couldn't see, but regardless I felt alone this time.

Odd. Maybe its just the fact I felt lonely because I couldn't see another being in my dream.

Who is to say that Raven doesn't already do that? I know that I have several mild disabilities but she is still helping me out. I truly believe that I have had more than one shared dream with her as well. Seems to me like she is teaching people.

This post is a shameful example of sadly typical human behavior. I'd guess you probably didn't actually read the four pages of "rambling" but instead noticed within a few sentences that his beliefs were not the same as yours and simply scrolled past it only to leave an insulting and dismissive comment which serves no purpose other than to prove once again your membership on this forum is totally unnecessary. Go back and read the posts and you will see that what spaceexplorer did was state that he wanted reasons to believe in shared dreaming. There is nothing contemptible about asking honest answers. That's called learning. Apparently this is something which you don't agree with. Fair enough, but for those of us who value inquiry and investigation over mindless acceptance or dismissal based on what we want to believe, please just don't even speak. Because if you're not interested in these things, why are you on a message board at all? The only other conclusion is that you're just here to preach or to make useless drive-by insults. If SpaceExplorer wanted answers, why did he back out? He said it was a waste of time because it wouldn't be conclusive. But no scientific experiment is conclusive on the first time. All of them need to be repeated in order to make them conclusive. But if that is an excuse to never do the experiment in the first place scientific advancement would stall. Medicines for example. Does testing it once prove that the medicine works? No. Does that make it a waste of time to try it that first time? No. That just means they have to test it repeatedly to make their findings conclusive. We could have embarked on an epic journey... but SpaceExplorer chose to stay home.

You said SpaceExplorer was looking for reasons to believe in shared dreaming and asking for honest answers. That is a good thing to seek out information and knowledge. But then he backed out of an experiment that might have offered the beginnings of those answers he said he was seeking.

You have a poor understanding of science and it shows.
Different types of study will require very different approaches.

Considering how many times we would have had to repeat this experiment, JUST TO GET A RESULT THAT MEANT ANYTHING,
and considering each experiment was going to take a WEEK, then please...Excuse me for backing out of investing months if not years of my life, towards something that seems implausable at best.

The only epic journey we would have embarked upon... would have been all the intelligent people in this forum, having to argue, and explain to death, how statistics and probability work.

Right, obviously the answer is yes.

Thoughts can travel outside the body through a variety of mediums. Spoken words, paintings, carvings, books or any type of writing. They can be conveyed with body language, codes, television, the possibilities are almost limitless.

With thought being able to travel across so many mediums, that makes telepathy almost a given.:D

Truth to me comes through experience. And I feel it's totally ok to say "I don't know about that" if that is what I feel. So I can't say there is a SD or the isn't a SD - I haven't had a proper experience up to date.

I keep track of the things I have actually experienced myself. Yes, I have a lot of things I believe in that expand what I have experienced, but I wouldn't put my life on them. Yes, I read and keep my eyes open.

Yes there are a lot of ways to interpret an experience. But hey, if you don't trust yourself and build your life on what you actually really know yourself, not through books, movies, conversations etc, then I tell for sure - your ground is very unstable!

It looks like this thread has become little more than one extended argument... and endlessly arguing is a complete waste of time. :( and I participated. :oops: I have argued just as much as anyone. :argue: I would like to apologize to anyone I have offended. :puppydogeyes: It's not an excuse, but I let myself get swept up in the argument. I'm sorry. :sorry: I am unsubscribing from this thread so I don't let myself get pulled back in. That is the point I always try to make, Cusp. We already communicate our thoughts through space. We already share dreams through things such as language and art.

I always say, if two people dream the same thing, or dream of each other, they shared a dream. I don't care if they did it by having a discussion right before bed, or if they somehow swapped crystal-powered-atlantian-brainwaves in their sleep. The end result is the same. The world we live in is already magic, to me.

It brings joy to my soul, and a calmness to my cenre to find such like minded, open minded seekers.
