Ah darn, I almost left my body again...

I've only done it once, but I am certain I actually left my body. If any of you have experienced this you know how difficult it can be. I felt like I had my 'head' out. I was about to get out and after going back in I woke up. The last time I got this close I went all the way out only a second later. I guess the only way to prove this is real is to have someone else awake do something in another room. The last time I did this everything did happen as I described it. Everything was exactly as I saw it when I woke up. I also slept through the day so the house did change inside enough to notice a difference. Now I know some of you have experienced this and know what I am talking about. This is not an astral projection, this is not a lucid dream. I have had both of those and they are very different. In an OOBE everything would look exactly as it is in the physical world. You wouldn't see anything strange except maybe other people (ghosts or whatever you want to call them - if they exist in our world).

When I am in the state where you are able to leave your body I feel it requires a lot of force to exit. I can feel parts of me jumping in and out when I try to leave. I had my head out for at least a second then slowly fell back in. The first time I think I was just lucky. Do any of you who have done this know a good way to leave your body? I mean aside from putting a gun to the head.

One more thing. I read a lot about NDE also. I noticed that these seem to be the same thing as this, except the person does not willingly leave their body. Could it be unsafe to do this? Or would my body work safely without me? The last time I did it I only was out for maybe 30 seconds. I'd hate to leave it and not be able to come back, hehe.

I've stated that I don't believe these things are real, they're LD's, etc etc ad nauseam, so I won't bother expressing my dissent to any great extent. That's it, done.

Then delete your post, k? I am only asking people that believe in this. And even if this is not what I claim it to me it is definately not a LD. It would be similar to the NDE explaination that just says it is caused by lack of oxygen. Either way I am 100% certain it is not a dream.

I can't now, because you replied. Too bad - I can post my dissent if I want to.

I am asking for help from someone who is experienced. I am not asking for help trying to disprove something I think to be true. How about you or someone else starts talking about god or something like that. Do you think it would be okay for me to tell them they are wrong and that it is not true? We are not here to argue, we are here to help each other. Either post something useful to the topic or leave it be.

Yeah, k. You'll just veer this topic off into "I shall post whatever i desire" type arguments if we keep in this vein. I have posted my dissent, we do it all the time, live with it. I was intending for your benefit, actually, to make my post as short and as un-argument...a...ble? as possible so that you could get the help you wanted from others, but that has been ruined now. And I recall never saying anything was *wrong*, I simply posted that I think it is. I understand that it could not be wrong, etc etc, but as I stated a just a moment ago, I was intending to keep the post nice and short for you. But, we've managed to drag it out now. Anyway, I think I've rounded that off nicely...onto the help.

Crucible that it all looks excactly like the waking world doesnt mean much.
What is your list for testing?

      1. did you closed your eyes for like 3 to 5 seconds and tried verbal commands for sugggestion like the word "beach"
then open eyes and see if all is stil same as it was?
      2. Trying to move objects? Levitate them?
      3. Talked to ppl, what happend?
      4. looked for a body double?
      5. looked if u can move through all matter?
      6. walked through mirrors?
      7. tried hypnosis commands/auto suggestion.
      8. spinning fast.
      9. flying.

If you dont do tests it means nothing.
Thats why fake money biljets are perfectly accepted when we dont do tests!

Remember, what the eyes see the brain believes!!!!
What u see within consciousness is easely accepted as truth.

      Do tests!
Make a list and be serious, not for proof but for research!
      A true explorer does so!

I tested once with myself and 5 others that had this, and after testing it showed to be a sort of dream stage.
Just not the normal dream as we now it.
Most ppl dont even know how many variations are possible in dream stages.
And thats not so weird because dream sleep/ rem is closely related to trance stages.

      Good luck!

      Hi there,

I experience sleep paralysis all the time. Enough so that I have been able to perform experiments while in the state. One of them was having an OBE. I read that if you will yourself to move while in SP, or try to imagine that you are rotation, that you can have an OBE that way.

When in SP once, I tried to imagine myself rotating. Just what I recall the movement feels like it from merry-go-rounds, spinning in a chair, etc. After a little bit of this, I could actually feel myself rotating around quite rapidly. It was as if I was rotating around in an immense black void. It was as far I got with that so far.

I've had two OBE's, but they did not occur as a result of my wanting them to. They simply happend after being in the SP state. The first, and best, was when I was in SP listening to the radio and then all of a sudden I couldn't hear the radio any more. I wondered why, and then felt my upper torso hang off the edge of my fouton. A second later, my lower body came lose and I thought I was about to hit the floor in SP and get hurt, but I did not feel any impact, but went down for a bit and gently accelerated upwards towards some direction. I'm not sure why I was headed in this direction, but it wasn't my choice. I would do these loops, all the while headed in the same direction. Once I knew that this must be an OBE, I got excited, and then a little bit scared because I knew that I was headed towards something, but didnt know what. I then said "goodness protect me. goodness guide me." and was instantly back in my bed. I'm not sure why I said that because I had never said such a thing in all my life. It just came to me.

Anyways, at least for me, the OBE is related to the SP state. OBE's feel great and totally real, but I think LD's are cooler.

      Good luck!

Well, lucid dreams are fun, but I have them every day. Now if you really want to try something fun try astral projection. This is like the perfect lucid dream. Everything is completely lifelike except you have complete control. You also don't have to worry about waking up, or anything else wierd happening.

Lucidapple, I would like to reply to you as well. The things you listed, well, I couldn't do because this was not a lucid dream. As I said, I have them every day. In lucid dreams I can do anything I want. There is not anything I have not been able to do. I am not an amature at this. In lucid dreams I do things like change the weather, fly, walk through everything, summon people, etc etc. The time I did an astral projection it was like a super lucid dream. I have been having lucid dreams so long I can easily tell the difference between waking and sleeping. In my dreams I always know if I am asleep or awake. This was different, just like the time before. There are many other people that would agree with me here. A lost soul for example also has done stuff like this. Would you sit and tell her she is wrong?

The poster above knows exactly what I am talking about. Unless you have experienced this, you CANNOT reply to it. This would be like someone seeing god and telling everyone about it. No one would believe that person unless they too saw god. What is the point in arguing something you cannot prove without having the other person experience it too? This is why I am only asking people who have. When other people post wierd stuff on here I don't argue with it. I don't know if they really did or not, but I don't tell them they are wrong. Now some people may mix up astral projection with OOBEs, that is different. I have done both so I can easily tell the difference between the two.

Btw, lucid apple... The one time I did have an OOBE I did feel the warmth from my body laying in bed. When I went outside I felt the cold from the winter. I felt weightless, but much different than lucid dreams. I did not feel a body or anything I was attached to. I didn't see myself. I could move through everything... in fact, I moved too fast sometimes. I just willed myself to move and I did without even trying. This was all after spending about 5 minutes trying to force myself out of my body. Anyways, what do you think happens when you die? If you believe in any kind of afterlife you would imagine leaving your body I am sure. People that have had NDE have described my theirs just like my OOBE. Other people with OOBEs have described it just like mine. Now here is one more wonderful little fact... I did not read up on OOBEs until after I had one. I read that my experience was EXACTLY as other peoples. Also, other people have proved this to be real. I read some topics here a long time ago. One person was able to do OOBEs on command and proved to his brother he could. Of course, I am 100% certain your are convinced the person is a liar since you don't believe in this. If I could do these whenever I wanted to I could easily prove they are real.

If you think its an OBE, and you subconciously expect your commands and control like you would have in a normal LD not to work because you think its an OBE, your control and commands wont work, and you really believe you're having an OBE. Remember how you summon things? You expect them to be behind you. Ever accidently thought 'ooh i dont hope a monster is in that dark corner there' on accient, and ofcourse a monster emerged from the shadows? Its all tricky like that... Suggestion, anticipation. Its hard not to be biased I guess. You seem to be fairly emotional about your experiences and stuff so i think you're extremely biased so it will be pretty much impossible to prove you wrong in your eyes so I dont know how to argue with you. Oh well. These are my thoughts. There is hardly any evidence supporting OBE's and so much evidence against OBE's... why do intelligent people like yourself still persistenly believe in myths that where created to explain LD's and vivid dreams when people didnt know any better? Remember, people used to believe OLD HAG was a real DEAMON sitting on your chest, now we know its a side effect from SP. OBE's are the same thing, its what people thought what happened because people didnt know any better. I dont blame them, dreams can be so realistic. If i didnt know what I know now about LD's and I would have an accidental WILD experience like I have alot, I would be convinced they where OBE's. That said, I know i have a bias towards OBE's not beeing real but if someone can come up with some plausible evidence that proves OBE's are real, then i am open minded enough to change my opinions. But just these heresay stories and experiences so similair to mine (that i found out where NOT OBE's) are not enough to convince me.

Well, I think this life is real, so it is the same situation. Maybe you subconciously expect life to be this way so it is. There is no way to prove it. It felt just like real life, so then real life could also be not real. You can't prove anything, so why are you trying to disprove anything? All you are doing is telling me what you believe in and trying to prove what you believe in is right. This is exactly like preaching. It does not have to be a high being that you are pushing towards me. You don't know what happens when you die, but you probably believe in something right? Do you believe in some after life? If so how do you know it exists? Or do you believe that you just die and that is it. Once again, how do you know it exists? You can't, and will never know this until you have experienced it. If I wanted to argue about what an OOBE is I would go to one of the million topics already about it that have been eaten up by people like you.

"Remember how you summon things? You expect them to be behind you."

Not sure what you mean by that. The way I summon things is just have them appear right in front of me.
