How is the third eye associated with lucid dreaming. How would you use it? |

In the Tibetan Dream Yoga tradition they visualize the third eye as bright white light and vibrate it with the "AH" sound. It helps to know that the third eye is just half of the chakra and the other half is at the base of the skull where it meets the neck and the actual chakra is in the center of your head near the back of your sinuses above your throat. That is where I vibrate. But then I project it out my forehead right between my eyebrows (and a wee bit above). I just play around with energy having it come up my spine and the back of my head to my crown and down the front to my third eye. But the vibrating (actually chanting a long deep "AH" sound so that it actually vibrates that part of your head) while visualizing white light helps tremendously. "AH" has the effect of expanding energy and creating space. So it creates an inner space that is very expansive. |

Woah, I didn't realize how saying the sounds (AH or OM) make different parts of you vibrate. That's really cool. I've been looking up a little bit about meditating to help me, this helps tremendously. I didn't know the significance of actually saying the sounds (I thought they were there to just help you focus, so I would say them in my head). Thanks for the advice. |

Lolwut.
Well, you need to experiment. It depends on how you resonate the sound that makes it vibrate in different places. You can make "AH" sound and vibrate your belly, but that is not what we want to be doing here. And it works real good if you take a deep breath and tone the sound nice and long and slow and loud. That way your breathing slows as well. Good luck! |
