      Meditation question

So last night I was laying in bed meditating using Kelly Howell's "Guided Relaxation," when about halfway through it I felt a pulling at my lower back. I had felt this before using the guided relaxation but I always resisted it. Last night, I decided to go with it. I felt myself sit up and tilt my head back to look at the ceiling. I thought it was all in my head because it felt so surreal, like a vivid dream, but I opened my eyes and I was sitting up staring at the ceiling! I'm not gonna lie, it freaked me out a little bit at first, but now, I'm curious as to what happened.

Has this happened to any of you?

when i meditate i often feel a pull pulling me to sit up but only when i am practicing a sitting meditation.

you should look up kundalini yoga, i won't go into much detail but its based a lot around the base of the spine being coiled energetically and that to unwind it is like tapping into your core energy

Thank you! I'll look it up. It hasn't happened again to that extent, but I'm interested in learning about it.

Do look it up. Its supposed to be a spiritual awakening but from what I have read it can have dire consequences. Usually this experience comes about after months of practice with meditation.

Yeah, this has happened to me before. Where I think that I am already in a dream and that if I move my head, I will get into a dream but then realize that I am moving my head or eyes in "waking" life.

I believe that if I stayed in that stage for a bit longer, I may have gone into a lucid dream.

You mentione dire consequences? Can you elaborate on that?
      Thanks

Edit: Never mind, I found some links when I googled spiritual awakening using meditation
