    1. Last Night with the Amethyst Stone

      by , 07-09-2010 at 02:51 PM (Hazel's Boiler Room)
I feel like I had some interesting dreams yesterday, but they were forgotten as soon as I woke up. Three lucids last night, though.

      1- Forgetful
I randomly become lucid, but I take a huge leap into the air just to make sure. Yeah, there's no way I'd be able to jump ten feet in real life. So... what am I supposed to do? I ponder over my goals, but for the life of me I can't remember them.

Suddenly I have a huge kite in my hand. Cool, this should be fun to fly with. Holding the kite against my back, I take a running leap and soar through the air. Suddenly, I "remember" one of my goals. I'm supposed to use this kite to fly over to visit the man who lives next door.
((Why can I never recognize false memories while I'm dreaming? Especially when they're rather absurd like that.)) I wake up shortly afterward.

      2- Snapped
I am at some weird event... There are a lot of people around who I don't know. I'm supposed to be socializing, but it's really awkward trying to make conversation.

Suddenly, my phone rings. It's my mom. I answer it, grateful to have an excuse to walk away from everyone. I notice that my phone seems to be showing everything that my mom is doing. "That's weird," I tell her, "I know my phone doesn't have video on it. How are you doing that?" Suddenly, I see my next door neighbor Dee Dee come onto the screen. She brutally kills both my mom and my dad. I get sucked into the scene, hungry for revenge.

Dee Dee doesn't realize I'm here. I stealthily sneak up behind her and knock her to the ground. Pinning her down with one foot, I use the other to slowly and painfully snap her neck. The bone juts out from the skin, and a little trickle of blood runs down from the wound. I am both disturbed and fascinated at the same time.

I randomly become lucid and go inside. I decide that it would be best if I just entered a different dream. So I lie down on the floor and close my eyes...

I immediately exit the dream and enter SP. I decide I will count this as a WILD, for lack of a better name. I wait for my body to regain feeling... and wait.... and wait... and wait. Okay, it seems like I've been paralyzed for WAY longer than usual. I'm gonna have to force it. After a bit of struggling, I finally manage to...

      3- Freefall

...pry myself out of my body. I do an RC just to make sure, but I know I'm dreaming. Unfortunately, the previous dream must have still been on my mind. I realize that I am once again at the scene of the murder. And guess who's not dead?

I decide not to fight this time. I take off on all fours into the woods, bounding at high speed. This is much easier than running on two legs... I briefly consider morphing into a wolf, but I get distracted. Hm, it seems like I'm getting really tired. But I'm dreaming, there's no need for me to stop. My body says otherwise. I am simply too tired to run anymore. I begin to speculate. Maybe it's my energy body getting tired, then.

Somewhere along the line, I forget I'm dreaming. I am no longer myself, either. I seem to be a man in my late 30's, being chased by the evil kid from Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Idk what his name is IRL, but in the dream it's Clyde.

I have already killed Clyde multiple times, but he always finds a way to come back. He says he learned the ability to regenerate from the Planet of the Starfish.

I am in a futuristic city, looking at this weird robot dancing in the middle of the street. Her whole body is made of metal, but her head is that of a human. "Wow, that looks like a real head," I tell the girl I'm traveling with. She begins to tell me what model the robot is, and explains how hi-tech it is. She uses a lot of strange words, though, and I don't have a clue what she means.

Suddenly, the robot starts trying to kill me. Turns out that it's Clyde in another one of his disguises.

In my effort to escape Clyde, I end up on the side of a bridge, lucid again. I'm really high up... seems like it would be fun to jump off.

It's not. I'm halfway to the ground before my vision catches up with my body, and when it does I have that terrible falling sensation in the pit of my stomach. This can be enjoyable in small doses, but I am just SO HIGH that the fall seems endless. Finally it jolts me into a false awakening.

    2. A Three Lucid Morning

      by , 06-22-2010 at 03:40 PM (Hazel's Boiler Room)
Woah, I'm glad I decided to go back to sleep.

1- Puppy with a Thousand Names
I just bought a cute little dachshund puppy, but I can't come up with a name. Everytime I think of one I like, I forget it and come up with something else. To start with I'm calling her Doris, then Matilda, then Samantha...

I teach her how to play fetch.... She's just so cuuute!

2- Battle of Fire and Water
I am surrounded by evil monks. My master is wounded; this battle is in my hands. But how can ONE win against THOUSANDS? I am barely able to keep them at bay with my fire magic, and my mana is running low. I quickly drink a potion which restores my power. But what good will it do? How can I defeat them? "Get them away from the floodgates," my master instructs. After a few failed attempts, I do as he says. Water rushes out of the gates and they all drown.

      3- Playing with Time Warps

I am with the Doctor; he is a bit impatient with my cousin, so he decides to screw with her head a bit. He creates a time warp, and she walks up to him just as he is talking to a past version of her. She freaks out and runs away. Our laughter is interrupted by the sound of marching. A whole legion of warriors is coming out of Wal-Mart!

"You of all people should know the dangers of playing with time warps!" I accuse as the army advances on us. "Look what you've done!"

The general wants us both dead. Before he gives the order to attack, he randomly stabs an arrow into the head of a dwarf standing beside him. Okay, what was the point of that?

The battle commences. I have a sword, and am actually doing a really good job of killing the soldiers. This is fun! The army is actually a mixture of humans and enslaved dwarves... I end up killing the arrow-dwarf's brother, and he wants revenge. (How is he still alive with that arrow sticking out of his head?) I knock him underneath a car. Now he can't sit up without the arrow hitting the bottom of the vehicle. Looks like a very painful way to be stuck...

The scene changes; now I'm working for the General. I get an email about something detrimental to the General's plans. I can't let him see this... This could be the key to getting rid of him once and for all.

      4- Expectations (DEILD)
Darkness. I'm not in SP anymore, I guess I woke up. But I RC anyway and become lucid. Yay! Only now, I can't open my eyes. Hmm... I take my sleep mask off, which has transferred over into the dream, but my eyes still won't open. I use my fingers and try to PRY them open... still no success. Oh well, I'll be able to see through them in a minute. I wander around the house blindly until I can see. I feel sort of confused though... For some reason I think I'm invisible.

I go in my brother's room, where Steven and Matt are listening to the radio. I want to mess with them, so I throw something off the dresser at them. Apparently I'm not invisible, after all.

My attention turns to the radio. Everything it is saying makes perfect sense. The commercials and the songs are all in real life clarity. Do they have this playing IRL? If not, my subconscious is awesome!

I go outside. It's really dark, but I ignore this. I'm already having problems with staying in the dream, I need to stabilize this before I worry about the lights. (Or lack thereof.)

I'm thinking about Leroy all of a sudden, and a man suddenly appears in front of me. Thinking it's my dream guide, I abruptly lose all my self-control and leap at him, giving him a big hug. I see a bit too late that I'm wrong, that this is just a random DC,
      and I wake up.

((Oops. I'm glad that wasn't Leroy, after all, since I had to go and act like that. Again.))

      5- A WILD within a DEILD
I DEILD back into the dream. Yet again, I'm having the same problem with my eyes. I briefly consider ripping my eyelids off, but decide I don't really want to find out what that would feel like.

I walk out of my room, into the hallway. I still can't see, but I am able to tell where I am just as easily. This dream is still really unstable... Maybe if I WILD within the dream, into a different dream, it will fix things? Worth a shot, anyway.

I lay down right there on the floor, close my eyes (they were open, despite my blindness) and enter SP. There is a vague sensation of rolling around, and then...

      6- Exploration
...I am fully lucid in a new dream. Better yet, I can SEE again!

Now I suddenly feel as if I need to prove myself for some reason. Maybe I'll go fight that werewolf... I head off toward it's lair. It's still pretty dark out, and there are random people along the road. Once I reach M's house I run into two mean looking dogs. I think they may have been in the pack that tried to kill me in another dream... "Hey, little doggies!" I say fondly, using passive control to make them like me. I pet them. "Wanna come help me kill a big bad werewolf?" Apparently not, they run off. I turn and fly toward the south. I'm near where I'm supposed to be; the warehouse where the werewolf lives is somewhere back here.

Now, however, I'm distracted by the mountains beyond that. I had read something that The Cusp posted about dream mapping, about how there are certain borders on the edges of your dreamworld and that it's impossible to get past them. Well, I'll just have to see about that for myself. After a lot of flying and climbing, I make it over the mountains... only to find more mountains in the distance. Gah... I'm not going that far.

Below me, there is a city. Since I'm here, I might as well check it out. I jump down, right in the middle of the road. Cars are coming at me from all directions, but I am unconcerned. It's fun leaping over them. A little tiny car drives by... I wonder what kind of person would drive something that small? I catch up with it and sit on top, riding through the city.

I reach the lower district and get off. I am surprised by the variety of people, and how real they all look. Everything is so detailed; how could my mind possibly come up with all these different people?
The dream fades, and I wake up.
    3. My Misadventures in the City of Bedlam

      by , 06-21-2010 at 12:08 AM (Hazel's Boiler Room)
      1- A Chase
I leave the school after a rather rough day. Oh great, our bus isn't even here. Perfect... I am waiting with my brother, when I realize I must be dreaming. Everything is suddenly underwater... "We don't need a bus, we can swim home," I say.

Once home, I take Steven into an incredibly dark forest. This would be a good time to see if I can overcome my "darkeness=lack of control syndrome," but Steven gets scared and starts attacking me, forcing me to take him back to the house. He continues to chase me, as an evil demon voice resounds from all around us. I'm not really paying attention to what the voice is saying, because I am enjoying my run.

I fly up onto the house and find some really cool coins. I start to pick them up, then remember, "Oh yeah, it's not like I can keep them." Plus, Steven is still attacking me. This is getting annoying.

He throws some large blocks of wood at my head, but I slow them down using telekinesis and easily catch them. I don't bother attacking him; I have some stuff I need to do... Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be looking for Samael. I prepare to fly away, but my brother grabs ahold of my foot and nearly breaks my toe off. "That doesn't hurt," I tell him, rolling my eyes. "It's a dream, you idiot." It does hurt, though, and I wonder if I kicked the wall or something IRL.

My brother disappears, and I turn to go find Samael. I am just about to try a summoning spell, when the dream deteriorates and I wake up.

2- City of Bedlam, pt I
In the early 1700's, my dad and I own a small shop off the coast of Charleston. We sell all our wares, and must make the long and perilous journey across the Atlantic to stock up on supplies. We are poor; so all we have is a small rowboat. It will have to do. "Getting there is the easy part," I tell my dad. "But we still have pirates to worry about. At this statement, I notice two things. 1) Another rowboat ahead of us, and 2) a pirate ship (namely, the Black Pearl) sailing our way. The girl in the rowboat near us is a young Elizabeth Swan. To rescue us from the pirates, she flings salt water in my dad's eyes and makes us crash on some island.

We are greeted there by the island's inhabitants. They allow us to stay, provided we follow their rules. (And they have many, many rules.) They show us a specific room of the castle that we are not allowed to enter, because it holds some of their most treacherous secrets.

I walk around, getting to know everybody.

Before we know it, we have been staying in the city for weeks. It becomes my duty to vacuum the castle... with a very small hand vac. First I must pour some white cleaning liquid all over the floor, then vacuum it up. I am still working at this when
      I wake up.

3- City of Bedlam, pt II
Back in the city, I notice that I have done a very poor job of painting my nails. I have nail polish all over my fingers, and I even missed two of my nails altogether. I decide I'd better redo them... But I can't remember where I put my fingernail polish. It must be in one of the bathrooms, but there are just so many!

I begin my search. After a while, I accidentally enter a really dark, creepy room that with holds a talking shrunken head. Realizing that this is the room I am not permitted to enter, I shriek and run out. "What are you doing?" a girl asks me as I nearly run into her. I recognize her as one of the shop keepers on the shore of this island.

"Oh, I'm just looking for my fingernail polish," I say hurriedly and keep looking.

Outside, I notice a tree that seems to be a Christmas ornament... but it's June. Taking a closer look, I am shocked to see a fairy staring back at me. "Uh... do you know where my fingernail polish is?" I ask dumbly. She says something in sign language. "I don't understand that," I say. Suddenly more and more fairies appear in the tree. I begin to worry that they will cause trouble. "We have a problem," I tell the man who walks up behind the small tree.

"What's that?" The fairies abruptly disappear, and he never notices.

I was going to point them out, but I quickly change my mind. "Um, I can't find my fingernail polish," I say instead.

      4- Fire Ants, pt I
I "wake up" with fire ants in my bed, biting me. I hurriedly leave the room and tell my aunt about them.

      5- Fire Ants, pt 2
I "wake up" again. WTF? Fire ants are biting me! So that other part was a dream? I go and tell my aunt about the fire ants, then ask her if I had already told her. She says that I did. But... why would I go back to sleep in a bed full of ants?

6- City of Bedlam, pt III
A hurricane is attacking the castle. I am nearly swept away by a flood of water as one of the guards leads me up to the balcony. We are all clutching on to the sturdy bars of the balcony to avoid being blown away. Suddenly, the ocean starts throwing things at us: refrigerators, pieces of wrecked ships, all kinds of stuff! It sends it directly at us!

I am dodging as best I can, while trying to knock the others out of harms way. After what seems like forever, the storm ends.

7- City of Bedlam, pt IV
((I don't know why I kept re-entering this dream. It wasn't that fun, and I was getting rather tired of these weird people.)) I decide I must leave this city. I've had enough of the wackos who live here. They tell me that the only exit is through Pointer Street, so that is where I go. Or at least, that's where I TRY to go. I end up turning onto Clutter Street instead, which is against the law. Apparently Clutter Street is where they throw all the dead bodies when they execute someone, and no one is allowed to go down there. They kill me, but this is only a temporary punishment. In this City, if you make a contribution (such as vacuuming the castle), you will be brought back to life after execution.

This time I make sure to turn on Pointer Street. Unfortunately for me, a man is out shopping with his wife... butt naked. It is illegal to see someone naked unless you are married to them, so again I am killed.

Frustrated, I walk all the way back to Pointer Street, making sure to keep my eyes averted from the naked man. As I am trying to avoid him, I accidentally bump into one of the guards. I immediately apologize, not wanting to be executed again. He just smiles at me and keeps walking. I pass by a man, who comments on how I was sucking up to the guards to avoid punishment.

I am now faced with a problem. The naked guy is blocking my path... How am I supposed to get out of here without looking at him? An idea comes to me: I take out my sleeping mask and use it as a blindfold, feeling my way along until I make it out of the city.

      1- Blown Away
I am walking through a city with several people, when tornadoes begin spawning everywhere. I watch in amusement as they come closer, wondering what it would feel like if I actually let them hit me this time. They sweep over me, blowing me around a bit. It is actually a very pleasant feeling.

We keep walking (I'm no longer lucid) and come across the hotel of someone we apparently know. We think he may be dead, but suddenly a man in his late 40's with crazy brown hair steps out of the hotel and sees us. He clearly wishes we weren't there , but we need him to give us a ride.

"Hey, we though you'd been swept away by the tornadoes!" one of my companions says happily.

((I wake up a while later, successfully FILDing.))

      2- Face-off with Count Dooku
I feel myself enter the dream and manage to get my eyes open. It's still really dark, so I turn on a light and look at my hands to stabilize the dream. The first thing that comes to my mind is the advanced challenge on DV, which is to fight one of the sith. First, I need a light saber. It is really cold inside my house, so I consider putting on a jacket. I decide that probably won't help, so I go outside to find something that can be turned into a light saber. Outside, it is really warm.

I find a stick near the edge of my yard while my brother tags along. I think about our dreamshare project, but decide that I'd rather do the task. I get the stick and, after a bit of concentration, manage to turn it into a red light saber. Now for the fun part. "Count Dooku! I summon you!" ((Not sure why I said "I summon you," it just seemed appropriate at the time.)) I see a flash of robes behind me, but when I whirl around, nothing is there. After sesveral moments of looking around, he suddenly appears beside me, laughing evilly. We start fighting, and I barely dodge as he lunges and almost impales me through my stomach.

After a bit of fighting, both of our light sabers suddenly flicker out. "Hey what happened!?" I exclaim.

He looks annoyed. "The batteries died."

"What!? But these things don't run on batteries!"

Apparently they do. We go in and change the batteries, but he grows bored of fighting me and quits.
