    1. Haunted House (childhood dream with precognitive elements)

      by , 07-26-1978 at 01:05 PM
Night of July 25, 1968 to Morning of July 26, 1968.

Important: The above date reference has been validated to be the first, most vivid, and longest version of this recurring childhood dream theme (as well as of the most precognitive layers).

My dream starts out with a precognitive scene, with Linda, a girl I knew from school, feeding “our chickens” in the backyard at Cubitis (this was when we still had a rabbit farm - and a worm farm - and my father had not even begun to think about raising chickens yet). The look is quite the same as it would be, with high, wobbly fences and several different enclosures, as well as the eventually partly dismantled rabbit shed being a part of it all. In fact, a little later on, he had made a concrete rabbit for an entrance ornament, in which, later, it also looked like a chick lying on its back (as if hatching from an egg), the rabbit’s ears transforming into the chicken’s beak in the visual “translation”. The girl is still outside when the moon is out, although the chickens are far less active. It then seems like I am looking at the images in a sort of farming magazine or real estate catalog (I did a little “photo projection” in real life at the time, so the change is not that unusual to me).

Eventually, I cross the highway (at night) and there is a “haunted house” where the house of Karen and Kenny S should be, and no other houses around it. I think it is two floors, or maybe three. (Karen’s was only a small one-storey house and very similar to mine.)

When I walk in, I notice a dark blue cartoon-like spider named “Hairy”/“Harry”, about half as high as I am. It has mischievous animated human eyes, but is more like just an oval with the eyes and lines for the mouth and coming out of the “body” for the legs. I think this is connected with a cartoon version of “The Addams Family”, as I eventually see a few other characters, which are not really frightening in any way.

A little later, there is a visually “perfect” scene (as if exactly replayed) from “Tickle Me”, an Elvis Presley movie that eventually features a haunted house with a “hidden treasure”. The scene seems to somehow relate to the hand in the box (Addams Family) to the hand coming out of the tiny door above the fireplace and punching people as in “Tickle Me” (with a brief impression of seeing myself in the scene). The imagery is exact and very vibrant. There is also the scene with the “ghost grandmother” in the rocking chair which somehow seems to be occurring in my father’s larger walk-in/sliding doors closet, yet I am still in the “haunted house”.

Later on is an additional part that was also precisely precognitive. I open a small window in a door and see a werewolf moving towards me a certain way, and there is some sort of funny game-like idea (similar to older “Captain Kangaroo” show openings that I had never seen before at that time) of shutting the window (in the door) with the door open - or leaving the window open, but with the door closed and so on, but the werewolf (starting out like a shadowy figure) - a sort of gray color and looking sort of “stiff” like a toy or model with hands raised that are not moving much, and a slight swaying side to side as he walks. At the same time, I understand that he is my brother-in-law, Verdell. Later on, for some reason, when he (my brother-in-law, Verdell) was visiting in real life (he only came down to Florida with my sister every two years or so for a few days), he bought a werewolf (wolf man) model with no explanation, even surprising my sister (there were various monster models in the store). The original model was grayish; the image (above) is of a painted figure but is from the same kit. In my dream, Verdell had looked just like the model, no shirt, pants held up with a belt, and no shoes. There was even a rat running around his foot.

Later on, after a few other misadventures, I find myself in a locker room (precognitive to one I spent time in later on in life; I had not at that point known what the one at the new middle school - featured in my dream - looked like - everything was correctly oriented). In fact, I was wondering how I got in such a place, inside of a seeming residential home. I later notice a very strange-looking cat (like the one from Disney’s “Cinderella”, whose name is “Lucifer”) sitting on a dark purplish-indigo velvet pillow with golden tassels - on top of what seems to be the hallway water fountain. However, it changes into (or is chased off by) a more normal-looking cat. It is then female and jumps up and “kisses” me (exactly like the opening credits for “Bewitched”, and with fluttering stars, real sparkles, and such - years later, I found my wife had a cat named Sparky when I first met her) and turns into Brenda (the girl who often seemed to represent my unknown future wife).

There is quite a bit more that I did not record fully when younger. During this particular time period, I wrote all my dreams out - often with pictures - on color notebook paper (not allowed for usage in school later on), mostly lighter hues of pink, purplish, greenish, yellowish, and bluish. I guess it was a pain for teachers to have to try to read pencil print on color paper (especially darker such as purple), hard enough to read on white paper.
    2. The Ghostly Green Cat

      by , 12-02-1977 at 06:02 PM
Morning of December 2, 1967. Saturday.

A green cat is seemingly “haunting” an unfamiliar area of an unknown neighborhood in my dream (though possibly implied to be near my sister Carol’s house in Wisconsin). It glows brightly, mostly while walking atop an older brick fence near a residence where there are a lot of shrubs and flowers in the front yard. The green cat does not seem to be a lost pet, but perhaps the ghost of a stray. It does not frighten me in any way. Although I see it walking towards me at times, I also seem mostly incorporeal and perhaps unseen by this “ghost”.

A cat is linked to the idea of sleep yet being active at night, and therefore is a good representation of the dream state itself. Here, the cat mostly only appears in liminal space - the top of a wall. Although the color blue usually serves as induction, green sometimes does as well (in contrast to red, which mainly seems like a waking priority prompt).

This was possibly influenced by a very small plastic figure of a green cat (which may have come from some vendor novelties my brother Earl had in his apartment near ours at North Monroe Street) that I had in a large box of various small items, which included a soft orange rubber cockroach, a black brontosaurus with its head turned around over its body, and a plastic flying lizard among many other items.

    3. Sammy and Sammy to Simon and Simon and oceanography

      by , 11-24-1977 at 12:03 PM
Night of November 24, 1977. Thursday.

My dream features a raccoon and a Siamese cat that live in a large city and work together as detectives (apparently in the world of humans). This recurred a few times, but all instances before the television series “Simon and Simon” was filmed or aired. The name of the fictional series in my dream was firstly “Sammy and Sammy”. There was this odd idea that the raccoon and the cat were somehow brothers. There are scenes of the Siamese cat and raccoon sitting together on the front steps of a courthouse. However, in another scene, this “courthouse” looks like the front of the apartment building on the “Sesame Street” television series and may in fact be a spin-off from that children’s show. I view the scene as some sort of projection from a book (somewhat different implications than my dream details below about the “living book”) which is about half of life-size and appears along the north east area of my room facing west. I do not directly interact with this imagery. The animals are larger in scale than the setting.

“Sammy and Sammy” was seemingly not “well received” in my dream by the public, so, using a pattern a little closer to the word “Siamese” (I assume) - the title became “Simon and Simon” and seemed more “correct” in an additional (or “reset”) dream regarding the fictional show that became popular.

Obviously, when the actual television series was later known and I saw it for the first time in real life, also on November 24th (1981), I was intrigued. Of course, the detectives on the real show were human.

In a dream of the same time period (also including on the same morning) I had a large book on oceanography, which was like a “living book” that was similar to another one that featured the above fictional series (and I apparently had several more “living books”). Over time, the images in the photographs on the pages would seem to come to life or at least appear as a sort of implied portal into the scene (though obviously not big enough to go into physically). It was very peaceful to look at the various moving images. In one dream, I was able to use the charts and graphs on certain pages in an interactive way (and this was before I ever used a computer in real life). I watch small schools of fish move about deep in the ocean. The imagery in this dream was fairly realistic compared to certain other dreams.

    4. Cat Stand-off

      by , 01-01-1975 at 07:01 AM
Morning of January 1, 1975. Wednesday. (New Year’s Day.)

Summary: Two cats quickly going in opposite directions meet on our Cubitis carport and their movement ceases as they stare at each other until my dream ends. This dream was possibly at least partially influenced by the limerick “There once were two cats of Kilkenny“, as the term “Kilkenny cats” did seem to be in the back of my mind at one point in-dream but was not spoken aloud (though the cats do not fight or even move as in the limerick). A younger neighbor and friend I waited with at the school bus stop on weekday mornings had the first name of Kenny, which may have added to the associations.

It is early morning in Cubitis just prior to the time I would be going out to wait for the school bus on a normal school day and the sun has not fully risen. I become aware that I am going onto our carport at the start of my dream for this reason.

Seemingly out of nowhere, two (unfamiliar to me) cats suddenly approach each other and both assume a stand-off position in our carport near the front entrance of our house, facing north and south. Immediately before I actually see them, I get an uneasy sense of a loud two-layered human-male-like “Ugh!” as if both of the cats had somehow “said” or “exclaimed” it simultaneously, each with a sense of implied disgust at the other, immediately prior to their near-collision.

Time seems “frozen” for seemingly several minutes as the cats stand completely motionless, facing each other from only about an inch apart (nose to nose). I get an eerie feeling that they may somehow have additional human-like attributes (though there is no real evidence for that other than the unvalidated assumption that they spoke).

Soon, at least a dozen (unknown) reporters, both male and female, having donned primarily early 1960s dress styles, appear on our carport as if out of nowhere. They are evenly gathered around, both standing and crouched in a semicircle (open to the driveway), with cameras (a male near the main door seemingly using a Polaroid 185 Land Camera) and yellow notepads with pens (though I briefly notice one female making continuous cursive loops rather than words or sentences). The reporters are gathering around the cats (though not that closely - about a yard or more away) and appear to be ready to plan or begin some sort of television or radio broadcast on the event. The cats do not make any other sounds and continue to remain motionless throughout the rest of my dream. I still feel a growing and somewhat unpleasant eeriness that they are “more than cats” and I almost expect something else to happen but nothing else does. There is a strange mythical awareness that neither cat will ever move again.

Analysis from my primary standpoint: This seems to be a play on the “old year” meeting the “new year” face to face or “blocking” potential progress into the new year with any issues of the previous year, almost in a mythical sense; thus, the in-dream uneasiness and “waiting for something to happen” even though a new year is basically just a continuation of the prior day. My family did not have a Polaroid 185 Land Camera but the camera has a feature that resembles the bellows of an accordion, which my father was well-known for playing and writing popular polkas and waltzes for. The reporters had a very vague association with cartoon characters on “The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour” though they did not really appear cartoon-like in any way in my dream. The “reporters” are there perhaps to “record” my progress in my path into the new year and my otherwise blocked passage into the new day, one cat being “of me”, the other a potential rival with opposite opinions, perhaps; likely a classmate I have conflict with.

Analysis from my secondary standpoint: What people have seemingly failed to see throughout the entire history of so-called dream “interpretation” (as I have never seen much evidence of it in commercial publications) is that certain types of dream events often reflect the dreaming process itself. In this case, it would be my dream self being “blocked” from the knowledge of the holiday, part of me wanting to wake up in thinking I have to get up for school (though I do not) and another area of my (dream-self’s) mind saying “Hey, you can sleep longer today, what’s your hurry?”. Of course, dreams are typically multilayered, sometimes with so many layers, it sometimes takes years for certain facets to reveal themselves.

    5. The Cataroo Rescued Me

      by , 09-13-1974 at 09:57 AM
Morning of September 13, 1974. Friday.

The so-called “cataroo” in this dream is quite different in appearance than the first personal version (and vision) of this fictional creature. In this dream, it mostly looks like a kangaroo with a cat’s head while in the first dream about this fantasy hybrid creature, it had the entire upper half of a cat and the bottom half of an implied miniature kangaroo but only cat-sized overall. The fact that the last version was the most kangaroo-like implies my path getting closer to my Australian wife-to-be.

In the dream, I am in an unknown and mostly undefined location (somewhat like an isolated movie set in the middle of a void), though it seems to be present at another level of perspective (superimposed in locational memory but with no known or discernible features around the central area) just west of my Cubitis home. There is a castle, possibly abandoned as I see no other people in the dream, which has a large moat around it.

Somehow, I fall into the moat, which turns out to be mostly of darker-colored quicksand. (This is a partial “replay” of a real-life event where I got stuck in a deeper muddy hole in the far backyard area when messing around one afternoon and my father had to pull me up and out.)

Eventually, a “cataroo” approaches and pulls me out and then seems “happy”. There is not that much interaction as I mostly follow it around the castle grounds until the dream loses cohesion. Unlike the first cataroo dream, this one is about kangaroo size and mostly remains upright.

Here we see (as usual with me) an entire stratum of precognitive Source-based perspective and synchronicity.

This was on my wife’s sixth birthday prior to knowing she (additionally in reference to the “mystery girl”) even existed - and she is Australian… (kangaroo link) as well as having been a cat breeder and going to cat shows when we first made contact (cat link) - thus the cataroo obviously symbolize my wife in a precognitive sense (although the first cataroo dream was even more precisely precognitive in a visual sense). This was also on a Friday the 13th as was my wife’s birthday.

This was also the first time I later saw “Night of the Lepus”, which aired on television on CBS (as the late movie) at 11:30 pm. The associations are that my family had a rabbit farm (both in Chipmunk Coulee in Wisconsin and in Cubitis in Florida) and that the movie references the rabbit problem in Australia (where my yet-to-be wife lived). There are also more precognitive layers associated with my surgery in 1976 detailed in other entries. There is a lesser idea of course on how kangaroos and rabbits are both “hopping animals”. (I had also watched “Cat Ballou” earlier that same evening - which seems to be a personal Source play on “cat below” in reference to Australia.)

The in-dream association also has a link to Psalm 69:14, 69 being a visual association of Yin and Yang and the supposedly secret (Temple of Hathor) Sagittarius and Virgo union - Corona Borealis and Corona Australis - and interestingly, I never associated it as other people do; that is, immediately (and often solely) with the oral “act” - which to me is absurd - especially as I was aware of the spiritual meaning and Yin-Yang connection around age four back in 1965. I do not directly follow Christianity, but this Bible verse reads “Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters”. This implies that my wife (prior to knowing the “mystery girl” was real) would, in the future, “save me from the quicksand to get to the castle”. The castle was also the location of the main spiritual “battle” between the “mystery girl” (wife-to-be) and the “other” (Susan R) - which had real-life repercussions over a lifetime of several people. Of course, the “corona” association is “crown” - which implies a castle connection as it is.

As for number fourteen, there is a link to my personal path - but it relates solely to the recurrence of the Roman form XIV for some reason. I suspect this complementary highly recurring synchronicity (a Louis XIV musical aired this evening as well at 10:00) relates not so much to the number fourteen but to the lesser symbolic plays on eleven and twenty-two - because XI represents eleven and V is the twenty-second letter of the English alphabet. (The key patten being 6, 9, 11, 22, 66, 69, 96, 99, etc.)

“Rescue me from the mire” was also the first line of a Bryan Adams song (sixth studio album) I heard after communicating with my wife-to-be for a time in 1992, titled “Do I Have to Say the Words?” - recorded in 1991 (the year I first made contact with my wife) and listed as having the length of 6:11, peaking at number 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and the second song on the CD single being “Summer Of ‘69” (live).

Just purely out of curiosity I used the same next vowel, next consonant cycle on “Lepus” as I had originally discovered in childhood regarding my name becoming “I hug PO Virgo”. “Lepus” can make “Bufo J” which is relative to the toad - another “hopping animal” (though not that good a hopper) in the 13th row after the original “Lepus” by the same token that “Jesus” makes “Love V” in its second row.

Finally, as I wrote in other entries, the “cataroo” was solely from an inner perspective, as this was before the Internet and before I realized that other people had contemplated this mythical hybrid, likely both before and after I had - in modern hindsight.

    6. The Cataroo (long-term precognitive)

      by , 09-13-1973 at 03:13 PM
Morning of September 13, 1973. Thursday.

I first dreamt of the fictional animal - the “cataroo” (long before the Internet and the potential to see that others had thought of it) at this time. In this case, it has the upper half of a cat and the bottom half of a miniature kangaroo (as it is cat-sized here). It has a very special vindication for me, personally. In this first dream of the “cataroo”, it was in a wicker cat cage with a rounded top, the cage facing west, while in the northeast area of the living room, which remains semi-dark throughout my dream - the small carrying cage itself and its precise appearance as in my dream being something that I had never seen or heard of. This was very precise precognition many years ahead, as my wife had one exactly like it when we got together many years later. Also as in my dream, the door broke off eventually.

The cage was, again, visually exact relative to my more distant future and marriage, but the rest of the precognition was a composite of other factors and facets as it often is - my wife was breeding cats at the time I went to her, and she lived in Australia (thus the cat-kangaroo mix), which I had no real-life association with at all as a boy. This is why I have always firstly looked at dreams as a literal combination of past, present, and future (even distant future) and not symbolic in an obscure or totally unrelated sense that so-called dream dictionaries try to promote.

On a lesser note, this night was the first episode of the second season of “The Waltons” television series (the episode “The Journey”, where there is some unusually complex synchronicity, one facet relating to the December 20, 1960 comic strip “Henry”). This is only relative in that the “mystery girl” or “imaginary girlfriend” and I were intimate when it was on in my dream and with Roosevelt I making a gag of the “watching the Waltons while making love” scenario in real-life. Coincidentally (or yet more subtle precognition), a similar gag was used on an actual (sitcom I think) television show a short time later, but I cannot presently recall the name.
