    1. Ambiguous Boat Ride

      by , 04-30-2017 at 10:30 AM
Morning of April 30, 2017. Sunday.

I presently have a cold, and when this happens, my preconscious band expands into wider, unfamiliar patterns, likely external (as it always was with Zsuzsanna before I met her). This preconscious shift sometimes transforms the emergent consciousness precursor into a completely unknown identity as here (which may be a biological factor relating to being in need of more threads from the collective unconscious due to illness), though likely also based on all the news about North Korea.

I am on a ship (a common water induction beginning, water symbolizing sleep and its dynamics in real time as it has for over fifty years for me on a day to day basis) which seems to be a North Korean cargo ship (or so I assume from recent thoughts).

There is some sort of situation which I am not directly involved in. It is something about an unknown male following a female around (and curiously, they are both Caucasian), even into the shower area (water induction within water induction - but not fully a dream within a dream, only composite distortion of the ship seeming bilocated with a house on land and my dream being vivified by the additional association). She seems annoyed but the matter does not concern me.

I look in a mirror and see that the right side of my face is bruised very badly, from my forehead down to my chin, mostly red and purple. I consider that it may relate to my illness and something related to blood circulation. It is mostly covering only the left side of my face (possibly a greatly exaggerated subliminal thread of sleeping on one side).

Again, because I have a cold in real life, my preconscious band is skewed. When I look in a mirror, I am a Korean girl of about sixteen, without the slightest awareness that I am an older man. I am focused on my face quite clearly and consider telling someone about my medical condition though I do not fully recall it as being a cold.

    2. Water Birds

      by , 04-26-2017 at 10:26 AM
Morning of April 26, 2017. Wednesday.

There were previous scenes at a different level of consciousness, but I more vividly find myself walking in an unfamiliar area. It seems as if it might be some sort of low-set bridge. I am not focused on where I am going. It may be to the shopping mall. There are no buildings around. There is a large expanse of water to my left. It is daylight out though I am not sure of the implied time. It may be morning.

Eventually, I notice one other person about half-a-block’s distance ahead of me. Getting closer, I see that it is my wife Zsuzsanna’s sister Judy. She seems wary at first, until she realizes who I am, but keeps walking.

My attention falls on the water. There are a large number of birds that are mostly all the same, mostly a mix of dark gray, black, white, and blue. Some of them are on the surface of the water, somewhat duck-like (though I am not sure what kind of a bird they are). About an equal number of birds, I can see under the water, their heads upward just to the underside of the surface. This imagery continues as I walk at least the equivalent of two city blocks. I find it curious, even somewhat peculiar, but it is a beautiful scene. The birds under the water do not move that much but may be feeding on the same food source that the birds above the water are looking for or eating. Thus, there is a vague sense of ambiguity.

This is a curious liminal space transition (especially as I seem to be walking on some sort of bridge) that mixes water induction (with subliminal awareness of being asleep) and the anticipatory (yet also subliminal) consciousness shift symbol (the birds). I find it interesting how nearly identical imagery seems to be rendered in each area of the water as I walk along.

    3. Unusual Wall Induction

      by , 02-21-2017 at 08:21 AM
Morning of February 21, 2017. Tuesday.

Although many of my dreams begin with water induction (which includes water sometimes flowing from a wall or ceiling), I do not bother to include that detail unless atypical or unusual, or in this case, sustained, with no main dream body or waking prompt that I can recall and already in the dream state indicator phase (being in bed).

I am in a very relaxed state. Zsuzsanna is sleeping with me to my left. I focus on the wall to my right. It is of a light teal color. I notice that there are “fringes” at three different heights on the wall. I reason that these “fringes” (similar to an association with a hippie fringe jacket) might indicate that the paint is peeling off in an unusual uniform manner. (Still, the bedroom we are in has only a bed.

I eventually confirm that water is slowly flowing out from each height of the fringe feature (each of which is horizontal along the entire length of the wall), but not enough to cause actual flooding, only minimal depth on the floor of only about an inch. I try to focus and consider if this is presently because of rain or perhaps some of the pipes leaking. It does not bother me at all; I remain only slightly curious (probably because water induction and reinduction triggers some degree of liminal dream state awareness).

A wall is autosymbolism for the division of liminal space, that is, the barrier between the incomplete dream self (the very limited subconscious self, typically rendered in a fictitious scenario and without viable memory from either the unconscious or conscious self) and the conscious self identity. This is a correlation with RAS mediation that otherwise renders a door or doorway as an exit point out of the dream state. I liminally am in control in this case, and I am using water to reinduce and sustain my dream (validated by the waking autosymbolism being to my right). Interestingly though, this dream became literally prescient, when an unexpected storm tore our roof of in November of 2017 and paint actually did peel in an unusual way as here, proof that liminal dream control can correlate with literally prescient threads, which is very unusual to say the least. (In other cases, I mentally paint a wall to initiate dream state reinduction to “freshen” and sustain the dream state. Additionally, although the room was mostly featureless otherwise, it had an atypical feeling of being in our real home. At any rate, this dream is a composite of water reinduction and wall reinduction.)

I had thought (for no particular reason) about an unusual model kit I built as a child just prior to this. It was a show car with fringes around the bottom and bullhorns on the front; the AMT “Hero” Lincoln Continental kit. (I had many model kits when growing up.)

    4. Slightly Different Water Induction; Palm Tree Made of Water

      by , 01-08-2017 at 07:08 AM
Morning of January 8, 2017. Sunday.

I shift into the clarity of the opening scene of my first dream of the cycle. It is the typical water induction. I find myself driving down a street in an unfamiliar location. There is firstly a sense that it may be near the ocean though this association changes after a short time. It seems to be early afternoon.

The street is lightly flooded and it is raining, but the rain stops eventually. I look to my left wondering if Zsuzsanna will appear for a blissful connection. After a time, there are small geyser-like formations that rise from the surface of the water. Eventually, I even see what appears to be a palm tree made of upwards flowing water to my left, on or near the boulevard.

Even though I have at least one dream of this nature every night, I am only documenting this one due to it having an atypical feature of the palm tree made of flowing water.

Water symbolizes sleep and the real-time dynamics of sleep and has always been my most common form of dream state induction. In fact, I often hear the (hypnagogic) sound of water flowing when not even fully asleep yet (sometimes natural settings, sometimes related to bathrooms or showers). (Not only that, if I am listening to a recording while falling asleep, I hear a hypnagogic “gloop” sound at various pitches and distances, which sounds much like a pebble breaking the surface of a body of water. This has been the case for over fifty years and directly translates as sleep induction being slightly disrupted by real-life audio.) It stems from the fact that a person spends the first ninth months of their existence sleeping within “water” (perceived as such) and is also related to circadian rhythms and tidal factors (or at least the analogy of tidal factors - as water getting lower over time is a common waking transition for me). Clear water would relate to being more within the natural sleep cycle. Muddy water relates to outer ranges of the sleep cycle, as I discovered as a child. It is probably the most consistent and “reliable” dream feature I have ever experienced.

    5. Roller-Coaster-Like Toy

      by , 10-12-2016 at 04:12 PM
Morning of October 12, 2016. Wednesday.

There are some events related to family interaction but I eventually focus on a large toy that runs on batteries and is somewhat like a roller coaster. However, there are at least two toy cars of about the size of Matchbox Cars, but lighter.

At the bottom of the toy, atop the base, there at least five different batteries that must go in a couple different sections before the entire toy works though different features of the toy might be relevant to different battery compartments. Some seem to be size AA, though at least two are half the length of the first one put in on the leftmost side.

After I put a few batteries in, working from left to right on the base, I push a button and a car moves around from one side to the other and closer to me. Another car, lower down, also moves about. Curiously, in the middle, there is a large flat male figure (in profile) of at least twice the scale of the cars. This figure sort of rolls diagonally downwards (from my right to my left) as if it was implied to be on roller skates, though moves somewhat slowly. It seems to be dressed as either a policeman or a mailman.

A young girl who may be our youngest daughter (though does not look or seem much like her and is seemingly a couple years older), while standing, tips water out of a glass near one corner of the toy on the other side to my left (apparently just to see what happens) as I remain seated on the floor. I warn her not to do this, making a claim about “electricity” possibly harming someone if it gets in contact with water, saying that they would “disappear”.

Electricity or lightning is typically neural energy or rising in consciousness. The presence of water, since it signifies sleep and the dream state itself, vivifies my dream for a short time, thus the young girl who is present, although a function of RAS, is more likely to be the personified unconscious than personified preconscious, the former being more of an induction factor as is the toy male figure going down from right to left. More so, she is on my left, which is also most often a personified unconscious and induction factor. The waking transition is ambiguous here, but it is my dream self in this case that atypically initiates it or at least “warns” of it, especially as I am putting the batteries in from left to right (typical waking symbolism orientation). Additionally, pushing a button relates to an attempt to focus (not necessarily wake, it might also vivify the dream state into full lucidity, though does not in this case).

    6. Flipping Rafts

      by , 04-26-2016 at 10:26 AM
Morning of April 26, 2016. Tuesday.

I am on a raft made of logs of which is floating on a body of water, but I am unsure if it is implied to be the ocean, a lake, or a wide river (though ocean seems the most likely). Over time, I notice a few empty rafts in the distance on each side of me, though more to my right.

My dream becomes somewhat abstract. I try to use the raft as a trapdoor to flip it over to enter another realm.

Flipping my raft (part manual effort, part mental effort) makes the other rafts in the distance automatically flip in unison with mine, though I somehow remain atop my raft when it flips. The implied “doorway” under each raft is black and seemingly without the presence or essence of water. I know that I am trying to wake up or at least enter a clearer level of awareness within the dream state even without viable lucidity. Going down into the water as well as the supposed dark “doorway” would imply dream induction. Still, I try for several minutes and eventually notice Zsuzsanna on a different raft. I get the impression that flipping my raft will send me through the implied portal up and onto her raft as a mostly subliminal act of “retuning” to our bed. This works and I am with her, by her side, and quickly wake.

This is the first time (at least in recent memory) that a dream rendered a raft as a “door” (or as potential doorway waking symbolism). It makes sense though, as the water body implies going deeper into unconsciousness and a raft additionally implies autosymbolism of our bed, and again, was even perceived as such by my dream self.

    7. Water from a Vacuum Cleaner?

      by , 04-22-2016 at 10:22 AM
Morning of April 22, 2016. Friday.

In my dream, my wife Zsuzsanna and our children and I are living on Barolin Street though my family and I seem mostly as we are now. (We moved from there in the first part of 2008.)

I am planning to go out through our back door from our kitchen to vacuum our utility room, which in real life has a concrete floor but with some of the area being bare ground. I am not focused on how futile it would be to vacuum near or over the bare ground and I illogically consider that our backyard might need some vacuuming as well.

As I am dragging our vacuum cleaner easterly through our kitchen, I notice puddles of water here and there on our floor, which our vacuum cleaner’s power cord may have traversed. I try to determine where the water is coming from but I am not sure if it is from our vacuum cleaner or had already been there as the result of a spilled glass of water or a leak from our kitchen sink pipes. I also wonder if I should continue on to our utility room even though our vacuum cleaner is not plugged in yet. My dream fades from this point as I am looking down at our kitchen floor.

As with many dreams, other than when literal prescience is a factor, this dream has no connection with waking life other than real-time biological associations. It is based on a distorted unconscious perception of the cleansing process that occurs during sleep, in which water is most often a circadian rhythms factor in symbolizing the dynamics of sleep. To help you understand, here is a quote from npr.org on “Brains Sweep Themselves Clean Of Toxins During Sleep”: “During sleep, the system that circulates cerebrospinal fluid through the brain and nervous system was ‘pumping fluid into the brain and removing fluid from the brain in a very rapid pace,’ Nedergaard says. The team discovered that this increased flow was possible in part because when mice went to sleep, their brain cells actually shrank, making it easier for fluid to circulate. When an animal woke up, the brain cells enlarged again and the flow between cells slowed to a trickle. 'It’s almost like opening and closing a faucet,’ Nedergaard says. 'It’s that dramatic.’”

The above quote also explains why water as induction (dream state initiation), and why water getting lower over time as waking symbolism, has remained a consistent factor in thousands of my dreams for over fifty years, occurring in at least a few dreams each night.

This validated biological symbolism is also why the vacuum cleaner hose seemingly has an ambiguous association with a garden hose in this particular dream. While a vacuum cleaner sucks in dust and dirt through the hose (inward dynamic), a garden hose washes away dust and dirt (outward dynamic). This is known as composite synthesis (in this case, the circadian rhythms cycle ambiguously mixed as a type of dream state economics, that is, mixing such elements in unification due to critical thinking skills and viable time orientation not existing in unconsciousness). Because this is a biological dream and not based on waking symbolism (other than there being less water in contrast to more water), it can be determined that the focus on cleaning the backyard relates to cellular cleansing processes regarding the human digestive system.

    8. Tooth and Blood

      by , 04-10-2016 at 10:10 AM
Morning of April 10, 2016. Sunday.

In my dream, I am in an unfamiliar building which seems to be in Japan, or at least I am aware that the building is Japanese. (I have only been in Japan for a short time for one day in my life in reality in my move to Australia.)

After a time, a tooth on the upper right (which I do not even have in reality - which is ironic) feels slightly loose. I move it with my tongue. I end up pulling it out with my fingers even though it is not that loose.

After this, I am aware of my mouth bleeding from the area I pulled the tooth out. I go to the sink (which is illogically in the unfamiliar bedroom I am in, on the opposite side of the room from a large window) and keep spitting out thicker blood. After about five or six times, I start to wonder how much more blood I can lose (it seems like a lot) before I start to feel differently or even pass out. No one else seems to be around at that point. It slowly dawns on me that I am dreaming, which I find somewhat amusing in that my dream self fell for the losing teeth scenario yet again (though it was more common when I was younger).

Other than when it is relevant to an actual real-life focus (such as recently having a tooth pulled or having an actual toothache), I sincerely believe that dreams of losing teeth have no “interpretation” at all as it seems a common waking transition component, which in actual cause, is simply the dissolution of the dream and the cessation of the dream self (since using one’s mouth is a main way of acknowledging one’s consciousness and wakefulness to others and the unconscious self cannot speak - so the dream renders a focus on the fictional dream body’s mouth as losing teeth - pretty simple), just as falling, rising into the air, or suddenly tripping, or even seeing something falling from the sky is (of which also typically have no “interpretation” and are simply a natural form of the waking transition). Still, I think this bleeding may relate to acknowledgement of the energies of my internal dawning consciousness and physical form in a similar way that tripping over in hypnopompia is acknowledging the dream setting does not physically exist during the waking transition. The color red also dominates a dream when I have been asleep a bit too long.

I will note however, that when I was younger, most such dreams proved to be precognitive of which teeth I would actually be losing in a specific order. The only way to explain this would have to relate to some sort of foreshadowing regarding body awareness that is presently not understood (which of course does not explain all the other types of more detailed literal and visual prescience). This one is the reverse though. That is, it is the literal memory of already having lost the tooth, though assigned to a common hypnopompic distortion.

    9. Scanning the Bottom of Loch Ness and Finding Beauty

      by , 02-16-2016 at 08:16 AM
Morning of February 16, 2016. Tuesday.

I am watching, while incorporeal, the adventures of two young males riding in a small boat in Loch Ness. There are other people around, but not as integrated into the events I am viewing. As the men travel over the lake, there is some sort of special imaging they are able to see which is related to a new kind of advanced technology. Other unseen characters are making this possible for them and they do not seem to be part of the research themselves. There is a sense of beauty as the bottom of Loch Ness is rendered in perfect detail, though all in one brighter color yet which seems to be different over time.

Soon, the flat fossilized remains of a huge pterodactyl are seen on the large screen. However, it seems as if I am moving over this rendered area (of the bottom of Loch Ness) in a bird’s eye view as well as with no implication of water, only the imagery of the lake bottom as I (or the imagery) slowly move ahead, somewhat like horizontal scrolling though with the seemingly correct size orientation (as if my incorporeal form is integrated into the technology itself or at least the end result of it). There is a vague awareness of the possibility of seeing the Loch Ness monster if it exists, but this does not occur. Over time, only unrealistically huge fossils are seen, mostly all of flying creatures. It seems amazing that mankind is now able to see everything at the bottom of Loch Ness and the two males are thrilled and grateful to the others who are making this possible (as, again, they seem like random members of the public who just happen to be in the right place at the right time).

A huge archaeopteryx fossil is also seen (possibly about a hundred times bigger than it would be in reality), and the focus probably remains on this section for the longest period. There are also a lot of similar fossils, one which is possibly the fossil of a giant (fictional) prehistoric flying snake. Curiously, again, there do not seem to be any fossils of swimming creatures anywhere on the lake bottom, or extinct lake denizens, mostly only the giant prehistoric birds and flying reptiles, some fossil sections touching mostly at wingtips. The mood remains very cheerful and satisfying even during the waking transition.

Of course, this dream represents looking into the deepest recesses of memory at the deepest levels of mind to see things that were not as visible or detailed as before. The fact that they were only gigantic flying creatures relates to the “higher” ideas and memories (and with greater perspective) I think, which had originally “taken more in” from a more detailed “bird’s eye view” before becoming a part of my memories and dreams. This also fits in with my increased research of date-specific layers in dreams over time. On February 16, 1970, there was a dream of a living archaeopteryx (only about the size of a chicken in this case and remaining on the south side of my room) in my bedroom in Cubitis, which was influenced by an image in an old book (which my mother bought second-hand) on prehistoric animals.
    10. I Want to Ride My Bicycle

      by , 08-06-2015 at 10:20 AM
Morning of August 6, 2015. Thursday.

I am with an unknown male though also sense Zsuzsanna is around at one point. I am going with him to an unknown location, though I think it has something to do with recovering certain information on the other side of the river (possibly in a different town). We are both riding bicycles and it vaguely reminds me of riding with Kenneth W or James M at a distance (out of town or on the other side of town) that eventually seems too far, though my bicycle is functioning normally. There was another schoolmate that used to go with me most of the way home (only for a month or two), though oddly, I do not recall his name (one of the only names I had forgotten in my lifetime, in fact) and this may be the character I am thinking of. It seems fairly late at night and I can just barely make out land features.

We reach a bridge over water and cross it about halfway and I soon see it is slightly inclined to where it goes down into the water, submerged from there. This surprises me, as I thought the other male knew where he was going, though now it seems he is gone (or perhaps somehow already got to the other side). I am trying to remember if he did get to the other side (with a brief impression that he was in the water for a short time). I am not sure what to do. I am not sure if I should ride my bicycle over the surface of the water, ride in while half-submerged (with the bicycle wheels half-submerged as I cross the river) or just keep going and see what happens (though I do not really want to ride completely underwater). My dilemma causes my dream to slowly fade. I have had numerous similar dreams of partly submerged bridges and docks throughout my life since childhood. I suspect it directly relates to the waking process or state of consciousness itself as many other in-dream predicaments do (for example, a car crash may solely metaphorically represent the waking process and the termination of the temporary dream-self).

I might as well include another non-lucid dream with this entry since there is not that much to it. Caution: Violence at end. Skip to avoid.

I am shopping in a store I buy food at in real life, though it is quite different. I am looking in a very large freezer (much deeper than in reality - and it seemingly has no shelves) where there are mostly meat pie packages and a few other frozen items. I hold the glass door open for awhile and am somewhat annoyed as there is not that much food in normal packaging in the entire freezer (which is nearly the entire length of the aisle). What little items there are, are sitting on large cardboard boxes (I assume they are unopened stock) and there are also a few smaller boxes on top (a couple being open) and I contemplate getting out whatever I need as I thus far only have one meat pie package (probably containing about four to six meat pies). There are only a few loose items strewn about the top of the stack that I want to look at or perhaps buy.

I then see that there are three people on the other side of the boxes who are standing within the larger freezer area itself, the boxes of which are at least three rows deep and stacked to above the waist. There are two females and a male and at least two of them have clipboards and appear to be taking some sort of inventory. They are a bit to the left. I reach over to the right and move a couple smaller lighter boxes to get to another product, which may be the only one left.

“Why don’t you go somewhere else instead of f–king around here?” asks the male (who may be the store’s manager), sounding very annoyed. This surprises me because I am a customer in a grocery store just trying to reach a product. I inform the man that I am leaving (and I do) and that I will make sure none of my friends or family ever shop there again. (In real life, I no longer shop in the grocery store that absurdly promotes self-service through the cramped and problematic small self-service section with a trolley-full of groceries while the cashiers just stand around gawking as all the normal checkouts are blocked off.)

From here, I walk home (rather than continuing to do any shopping elsewhere), though the location and building is not that familiar, yet I know I live there with my family. It vaguely reminds me of some sort of unlikely composite of Duffy Street (Australia) and Arcadia’s North Monroe (where I have not lived since early 1968). There are many young people running around randomly in the front yard, perhaps involved in some sort of game (like informal soccer) or party, though there does not seem to be any order to any of it and some of them seem to be wearing very strange and random outfits. It may be some sort of high school or college event, such as a semester break (though I do not know why they picked this area as they obviously do not all live in the area).

As I decide to go around and enter my home through the back of the building to avoid collision or confrontation with what may be a chaotic group of addled college or high school students, a (unfamiliar and unknown) girl who seems friendly joins me. We walk to an area near the back of my apartment building (which at this point looks a bit like the apartment building across the yard from where I lived at North Monroe). The back of my building has a door to enter the premises (at about the middle of the walkway from where we are), though directly to my right seems to be another tall building so that it is like looking into a narrow alleyway. There are several boulders and large rocks within the alleyway which are blocking my way to the door (though realistically, it would be ridiculous to assume someone or even several people put them there by hand). “Who did this? How are people supposed to get into their apartment?” I ask the girl (who is standing to my left) angrily. The girl leads me to the other side of the building where the rocks are now mysteriously gone just from looking through the opposite side of the alleyway.

From here, we get to the back entrance where there is a screen door. A tall young unfamiliar male (though he seems almost thirty when I look again even though I first get the impression he might be a college football player) comes out asking “How are you doing, dad?” as if with mindless sarcasm related to my age (and I am at my own home after all and I assume he is not supposed to be there). At this point, I am annoyed, as I reach semi-lucidity and the waking stage at the same time. In previous dreams I used to shoot every annoying character during the waking process. This time I pull out a large knife and effectively run it across his throat as I wake.

This last part was strongly influenced by the “Secrets and Lies” television miniseries filmed where we used to live (where the father goes to get his oldest daughter and is insulted and pushed and told to leave by the younger male as if he had no right to look after his own children), where the little girl turns out to be the clever criminal and killer rather than the suspicious adult males or other characters. Sorry for giving it away but at least I spared you the misery of watching it. And yes, it was supposed to be a serious detective show.
    11. Bathtub with Grill

      by , 06-26-2015 at 12:26 PM
Morning of June 26, 2015. Friday.

I seem to be in the fictional tall pipe house yet again (in an unknown region - but some versions are similar to my older sister’s house on Loomis Street in America and with the fictional utility room and storage area at the southwest corner), but this time it involves an unusual bathtub that has a large grilled rectangular prism adjacent to one end that is implied to be directly above the large utility room (with the high ceiling) that is on the first floor though with a dirt floor in most versions of this setting and now apparently has at least one tall pipe leading down from the bathtub drain to the room below (though it is usually the toilet that has the long narrow vertical pipe that becomes misaligned). The focus is very vivid and “realistic” materialistically but somewhat nonsensical in terms of aesthetics and potential design. The large grill is a box-like structure (a grill-like plane on all sides) on the faucet end of the bathtub. The faucet comes out through about the central area of the side of the grill that faces the bathtub, it seems.

I find it remarkable in afterthought how such a three-dimensional fictional structure can be created so convincingly as such in a dream. In my dream, I decide to clean the grill, at least the bathtub-facing side, which is quite rusty as well as dusty (and I briefly contemplate why I had not tried to clean it previously) - in fact, the dirt and rust is nearly solid within all the grill spaces, though the faucet seems to be working fine (though the box-like structure seems like just a fancy cover for the pipes going in and out at the end of the bathtub - the bathtub being more near the central area of the bathroom in an unlikely layout). Over time, I use a whisk broom and, even though all of the spaces are cleared almost effortlessly, some of the vertical bars, being quite thin and mostly now composed of rust, break off easily at a light touch, though not that much damage occurs and all the spaces are otherwise cleared completely of rust and dirt so that it even appears somewhat shiny again. I notice how I can now see inside the structure (as well as through the spaces of the adjoining perpendicular grilled plane) and the running water is much louder as well - including a clearer metallic gurgling sound within the structure. It is loud but pleasant.

Looking down through the top (horizontal) grill of the structure, I see that the water going through the bathtub drain ends up on the dirt floor in the utility and storage area below, though it is presently a small puddle. I am not concerned about this odd plumbing setup and it does not even strike me as unusual or requiring fixing (or adjusting the tall pipe alignment).

This dream seems primarily an intriguing (though greatly exaggerated in size) distortion of my cleaning of the front room computer’s CPU fan the other day by removing the fan’s cover (where the vents were almost solid with dust clumps - causing the computer to not stay on). I did find the “realism” of my dream (in terms of solidness, movement, and effect change as well as the motions of my hands in my work) quite interesting.

    12. Water from the Window Sill

      by , 11-29-2013 at 03:05 PM
Morning of November 29, 2013. Friday.

In an extraordinarily vivid scene from my dream, I am in an act of supposedly turning the water on somewhere for someone else, I think, possibly for my youngest son who is playing outside in the front yard - apparently in America on Loomis Street at this point (which is at least three times as big as in reality; in reality it was a rather small area adjoining the sidewalk). For some reason, to do this, I have to turn the window latch (on the top middle of the window sash) to turn on the water in the same way as turning on a faucet (tap) with the separate handle. I seem to be standing on a chair to do this at one point. Even though it seems to be our present home in some ways in-dream, it also seems to be the small bedroom of the house I stayed in on Loomis Street during two time periods when I was much younger, though the general appearance of the sash window seems much the same in both locations and with a very similar perspective. (The view from the Loomis Street’s house window would, again, be into the small front yard and the view from the implied present window at W Street would be into the grassy area at the side of the house where the footpath is, a bit similar.)

After I supposedly turn the water on (apparently for the bathtub in the bathroom, at least by seeming intent regarding the surreal plumbing layout) from turning the window latch, I “instead” hear water hissing and spraying out from the same room I am in, from near the mopboard by the bottom of the doorway to my right. I immediately worry about the water ruining books or papers in the room and am not sure why the “plumbing” is set up in this particular way, but I then “turn it off”. After I “turn it off”, water then actually starts coming out from around the window latch itself as if there was some sort of hidden pipe that somehow went through the sash and through the window frame and into the wall. This of course makes no sense at all in reality, but seems to make perfect sense in my dream and remains very vivid, bordering on lucidity but I do not attain lucidity.

I attempt to try to stop the leak in the latch itself by pushing it a bit and turning it to different angles, but it continues to lightly spray out. I am not sure what to do. To my knowledge, I have never made these associations in a dream state before. The physical similarities between a window latch and a faucet handle are that they both are metallic and technically both turn to open or close something. An open window (after being unlocked with the latch) “lets in air” whereas an “open” faucet handle “lets in water” (into the sink, that is). It is an unusual mix-up, but may also be related to the association with rain coming through a window. Also, the mopboard (or skirting) may be associated with water and mopping the floor.

    13. Water From a Biplane

      by , 12-20-2010 at 06:20 PM
Morning of December 20, 2010. Monday.

I am with my lovely wife Zsuzsanna. There is anticipation of intimacy but we are first to travel elsewhere by flight. We are in a blue biplane, though it is in a hangar and I illogically do not fully consider the need to leave the hangar before flying our airplane. (This lack of reasoning of which relates to liminal space ambiguity in REM has occurred in many other dreams.)

Zsuzsanna is wearing a beautiful cyan gown. Looking closely, I see denser bird silhouettes in the otherwise lacy sparse material in a flying form in what seems to be fairly small embroidered patterns. She is on my right (an atypical orientation, as she always sleeps on my left, though that may be because she is awake at the time).

The dials in the biplane seem to be more like clocks than altimeters or other cockpit-relevant displays. It looks like one says “12:20” (in an analogue clock display, not digital), which is today’s date (and also my birthday).

To my immediate left, some sort of vertical pipe that connects the wings seems to have a leak where some water is flowing out. I try to stop the leak with a piece of what seems to be part of a pillowcase or bed sheet.

I notice one of Zsuzsanna’s shoes off to the right on the floor.

The pipe that connects the wings of the biplane on my left side seems somewhat detached and I wobble it around a bit, somewhat puzzled. I am not sure if the airplane is ready to take off and fly even though I start to hear a humming sound, though I soon wake.

    14. Contaminated Reservoir

      by , 01-04-1998 at 07:04 AM
Morning of January 4, 1998. Sunday.

I am near a water reservoir in an unfamiliar location which has apparently been contaminated by army tanks and jeeps somehow ending up in it (though I am not sure of how this had happened). A man who reminds me of Bill Gates (and who may be him) starts warning people about this situation and says that people could start dying. However, the problem is supposedly being solved (in a seemingly timely manner) by putting large plastic tarpaulins over the inside walls of the reservoir (though that does not seem logical as I do not think water could properly filter through them). I help with the task and it is seemingly working. In an additional dream or offset of this sequence, I am dancing and chanting in a very positive and cheerful mood (commonly recurring).

In dreams, water has been validated for me to represent sleep. The condition of water in a dream relates directly to the dynamics of sleep in real time. Water getting lower over time represents the natural waking transition, a scene which has occurred at least once virtually every night for the past fifty years. In this case, during the waking transition, there is even the additional tarpaulin association (dream sign) with bed sheets. Translated directly: “The water is contaminated by the presence of army tanks and jeeps in it though using tarpaulins to line the reservoir will filter the water” becomes, “Sleep is presently somewhat restless with conflicting thoughts towards waking but by relaxing more within comfortable clean sheets a bit longer, sleep will be better.”
    15. Fishing in Debris

      by , 09-12-1997 at 04:33 PM
Morning of September 12, 1997. Friday.

I am fishing amidst much man-made debris in the shallow water (not sure of location), although I do catch a rather large fish. Whenever the fish jumps, there is a larger splash that reaches me and a couple other males (one unknown who may be with the military, the other possibly from my maintenance job at a college). (Much of my wife’s dream of this date had the same aspects as my dream for no discernible reason.)

There is a giant black derby “cloud” that “rains” over parts of the ocean and eventually goes more inland, continuing over rivers and smaller streams, mostly. Very briefly, it seems like a UFO, yet continues to function as a raincloud. It seems familiar as if I may have seen it in an illustrated book of dreams in real life sometime in the past (though I am not certain).

I take a large jar of olives to an Italian wedding reception. I carry it in my left hand. I have something else that is smaller and in thin plastic wrap - sort of near my right hand (something sweet I think; I get the vague impression of a small amount of caramel popcorn), but floating it along near the jar with telekinesis, I think. An older male (who gives the impression of being at least part Transylvanian) comes to the door. I do not go in to the actual party.
