    1. Vegetarian Vampire

      by , 08-07-2018 at 10:18 AM
Morning of August 7, 2018. Tuesday.

Reading time: 1 min 22 sec. Readability score: 73.

In my dream, I am present and seemingly corporeal, going from place to place by walking, yet I do not interact with dream characters or events. A supernatural story unfolds. No fear or concern exists.

The setting is unfamiliar. An unknown residence is near a lake. The events mostly take place at night. There is the typical indoor-outdoor ambiguity in some scenes.

A male vampire had killed his master accidentally. He had mistaken him for someone else and had thrown him in the lake. A female vampire is present at one time, and she is concerned at how he had killed the wrong person. The male walks around, uncertain of what to do. Their original plans to take over human society will never occur.

In the last scene, I am standing close to the male vampire, though he acts as if I am not present. He stands near a table with a plant pot atop it. It seems to contain a Dixie Lace pitcher plant with real blood flowing through the veins.

He is pulling leaves from the plant and seemingly eating them. I hear him munching. However, I start to consider that he does not like the taste and is spitting it out rather than swallowing it. A leaf of the plant is blocking my view of his mouth, so I cannot tell how much he is eating. He may be only pretending. Before waking, I have a vague thought that I am on a movie set and that he is not swallowing the leaves even though the scene implies he is.

Something or someone being in the water (and the conditions and depth of the water) correlates with the curve of ultradian rhythm and the sleep cycle, though the infradian and circadian rhythm is also a factor at times, cycling from the presence of small ponds to flood dreams and water lowering waking symbolism. The cycle has occurred on a regular basis for over fifty years. The nonthreatening presence of the vampire was from remaining awake in bed longer than usual.

    2. My Father Coughs up Blood (prescient)

      by , 01-24-2018 at 08:19 AM
Morning of November 2, 2016. Wednesday.

I am in the semidarkness of an unknown bedroom but I am able to see clearly in my immediate area. I have my dream journal open in front of me as I am lying on my stomach on the floor. I perceive that I am only about twelve years old. My single bed is next to me to my left, closer to the doorway than another single bed and closer to the center of the room, though my head is presently nearest the foot of my bed and my feet are closest to the doorway. My father’s bed is closer to the corner of the room, his head near the wall where the doorway is. He is lying on his back with his head opposite mine. Our beds are about two feet apart. My father (April 26, 1901-February 14, 1979) begins to cough. His coughing intensifies after a short time.

I sense something is wrong as an unknown male (about twenty-five) comes into the room and helps my father get out of bed as he is coughing, apparently to get him ready for an ambulance. As he coughs when walking past me to my right, a large drop of blood suddenly flies from his mouth and lands on the lower right of the right page of my open dream journal. A smaller drop hits the back of my right hand near my fingers. I have concern for my father and a lesser concern about the page’s status, though I get the impression that the blood spot might eventually fade. I remain where I am, slightly puzzled. I start to think of how my father is old and his organs are not functioning like they used to. I wake shortly after he had left the room with the unknown male. I vaguely sense my mother is present but I do not see her.

Inexplicable threads: Zsuzsanna had seen an event in a movie related to someone dreaming about blood coming from their mouth prior to my sleep. (I had not known of this prior to my dream.) Additionally, I developed a bad cough shortly after this dream, the worse cough I have had in my life so far (though there was no blood, only mucus). As a result, I consider this dream as both prescient and influenced by Zsuzsanna’s thoughts, with three layers of synchronicity (as I had also recently reflected on a dream from March 1975 relating to watermelon as blood and flesh and coming out between pages of my dream journal).

Biological prescience relating to my health validates that my father represented me in this dream. It is additionally validated by the doorway waking symbolism, as I am usually the one to exit a dream as my emergent consciousness.

RAS mediation was atypical. Instead of the personified preconscious directing attention at my dream self, he escorted my father from my dream (additionally validating that my father represented my conscious self identity in a prescient sense, even though I was completely unaware of my current real life in my dream).

This dream’s waking symbolism is oriented to my dream self’s right as it most often is. (This may be the result of sleeping on my left side.)

    3. Tooth and Blood

      by , 04-10-2016 at 10:10 AM
Morning of April 10, 2016. Sunday.

In my dream, I am in an unfamiliar building which seems to be in Japan, or at least I am aware that the building is Japanese. (I have only been in Japan for a short time for one day in my life in reality in my move to Australia.)

After a time, a tooth on the upper right (which I do not even have in reality - which is ironic) feels slightly loose. I move it with my tongue. I end up pulling it out with my fingers even though it is not that loose.

After this, I am aware of my mouth bleeding from the area I pulled the tooth out. I go to the sink (which is illogically in the unfamiliar bedroom I am in, on the opposite side of the room from a large window) and keep spitting out thicker blood. After about five or six times, I start to wonder how much more blood I can lose (it seems like a lot) before I start to feel differently or even pass out. No one else seems to be around at that point. It slowly dawns on me that I am dreaming, which I find somewhat amusing in that my dream self fell for the losing teeth scenario yet again (though it was more common when I was younger).

Other than when it is relevant to an actual real-life focus (such as recently having a tooth pulled or having an actual toothache), I sincerely believe that dreams of losing teeth have no “interpretation” at all as it seems a common waking transition component, which in actual cause, is simply the dissolution of the dream and the cessation of the dream self (since using one’s mouth is a main way of acknowledging one’s consciousness and wakefulness to others and the unconscious self cannot speak - so the dream renders a focus on the fictional dream body’s mouth as losing teeth - pretty simple), just as falling, rising into the air, or suddenly tripping, or even seeing something falling from the sky is (of which also typically have no “interpretation” and are simply a natural form of the waking transition). Still, I think this bleeding may relate to acknowledgement of the energies of my internal dawning consciousness and physical form in a similar way that tripping over in hypnopompia is acknowledging the dream setting does not physically exist during the waking transition. The color red also dominates a dream when I have been asleep a bit too long.

I will note however, that when I was younger, most such dreams proved to be precognitive of which teeth I would actually be losing in a specific order. The only way to explain this would have to relate to some sort of foreshadowing regarding body awareness that is presently not understood (which of course does not explain all the other types of more detailed literal and visual prescience). This one is the reverse though. That is, it is the literal memory of already having lost the tooth, though assigned to a common hypnopompic distortion.

    4. Sword and Blood

      by , 05-25-2015 at 11:25 AM
Morning of May 25, 2015. Monday.

I am not sure of the location or even the immediate setting, though I am living with my wife yet seem to be about twenty years younger. There is a slight essence of Stadcor Street in Brisbane, but it also seems like an apartment building with a hallway (though not reminiscent of the King Street boarding house this time) and it may be on the first floor.

I eventually notice an intruder sitting on my left (about six feet away), though do not strongly associate him as such at first (as he may instead be a friendly visitor I had somehow forgotten about). My first intent is to wake up my wife by calling out her name. I am seated and she is sleeping on a bed (or possibly a couch in which the back drops down to make a single bed) to my right. Once again, I call out someone’s name and they do not respond (recently recurring in-dream situation). Zsuzsanna continues to sleep peacefully after I say her name loudly about four or five times. Thus, I decide that instead of getting her up and us leaving the room until I work out the intruder’s intent, I will get up and make him leave by physical force.

Eventually I realize that I am holding a sword, so I put it up against his neck to make him leave the room. I continue to hold it up as he moves back and into the hall, close to the door to the apartment or room where he apparently lives. I still tap his neck a few times, drawing a bit of blood as he backs up against his door. I decide to let him go into his apartment and so I turn to go back to where my wife and I are seemingly living. However, I notice more and more blood flowing out from my right arm and going everywhere, including making a puddle on the floor (and my wife is still sleeping). This is quite possibly one of the most vivid bleeding dreams I have ever had as I am fully aware of my body and presence - and the perspective is “perfect” as well (with no typical distortions of any kind). I enter a very well-defined state of clarity and awareness as I continue to stand while looking down at all the blood. On the one hand, I know I am bleeding in a possibly fatal manner, trying to work out how it even happened as the other male did not have a sword. The cut is over my upper right arm (about the entire length of my upper arm) and blood is flowing everywhere. I slowly wake, though with the tentative confidence that I will somehow survive.

The meaning behind this dream, I would normally just attribute to being a metaphor for the waking process (and the “death” of the transient dream self upon entering the waking process). However, it also implements a remote viewing connection, which is relative to the same event that my wife remote viewed in a different way. In her case, she remote viewed a dream scene where a child was talking on a toy telephone. Today, in the mail (without the slightest idea it would occur), we received several childhood photos of me from one of my older sisters for the first time ever (I am still of the belief that remote viewing requires at least two active minds - in this case the other mind being that of my sister’s - who sent the photos). In one of them, I am holding a toy telephone, validating my wife’s very consistent remote viewing perception over the years (after all, she accurately remote viewed my childhood long before we met). Another photo is from around the time I had my near-fatal accident and NDE in 1962 where I lost a lot of blood as a toddler and miraculously did not go into shock and soon self-trained my left hand to work again over time (and “rewired” my brain by force of will at a very young age - thus my enhanced dream memory and understanding among other things) even though it was “certain” (by the doctors’ claim) that my wrist and hand would be paralyzed for life. As such, some memories from age one and a half resurfaced, but only those related to the park visits. Basically, this dream was a form of remote viewing a very old memory linked to a precognitive association of an approaching visual event and layering it in a character composite with my adult self (even though the location of the bleed-out differed in this dream, as dreams often change orientations in one way or another).

I also feel that there may be some meaning here regarding the calling of the name in terms of reversal while in the dream state. This situation accurately implies that my wife is awake in reality (verified) so thus is “asleep” in my own dream (and this is not the first time I have been aware in a non-lucid dream in this precise way though it depends on the type and level of the dream). This is probably similar to how the “shadow person” in a dream (especially a vivid lucid dream) is actually the waking conscious mind rather than what inexperienced people claim in it being something “darker” or potentially threatening to the real conscious self. When in a dream, it is the transient dream self that faces annihilation (in the process of waking), not the conscious self, so it is rather absurd to make the claim that a shadow in a dream is somehow “lower” than the dream self or unconscious state.

As already noted, I made a note of how I felt it was me “reliving” my childhood trauma of nearly having my left hand cut off (even though in my dream it was my upper right arm). One of the photographs my sister sent recently (and there was no way of knowing she would send photographs) shows me during the time period I was recovering from this event which occurred July 4, 1962 and while my hand and wrist is still wrapped. In fact, I had been imagining seeing this exact same photograph recently and very unlikely - received it the day after in real life. (even though I have only heard from her a few times in the last twenty years and rarely while growing up).

    5. Fueled by Terror

      by , 11-21-1976 at 12:04 PM
Night of November 20/Morning of November 21, 1976. Sunday.

If you are easily disturbed, this is probably a good entry to give a miss. It is one of only a few of the more vivid nightmares I have had in my life - and probably relates to the physical changes during adolescence. (For example, dreams like “Silver Manta” and the first childhood “Haunted House” dream did not seem like an actual nightmare at all regardless of the scenario and emotions involved, but as inspiring adventures which I still have fond memories of.)

A large spaceship lands in my front yard at Cubitis, near the end of the driveway and a few feet from the highway. I do not actually see any aliens in the dream at any point, though. Actually, the ship seems more like some sort of “factory”, with a maze-like assembly-line (except that it is “dis-assembly”, so to speak.) that goes all about the internal perimeter of the squarish “flying saucer”.

What is vividly implied and shown from several angles (including from the side and from above) is with a first scene of a girl being carried (while lying on her side) down a conveyor belt (which is dotted sparsely with human blood and a few small scraps of clothes) within the spaceship. I am not sure who she is or where she came from. It reminds me of a miniature “car wash” to some extent (the part where she falls next may be vaguely related to the opening of “Land of the Lost”). She moves through a yellowish orange ribbon curtain into what looks like a chamber with an implied shallow well and there are robotic arms and such that seem to hurt her. Eventually I am aware she has been turned into “fuel” for the spacecraft, the body being shredded as through a high-tech food processor of sorts.

This happens with several people, mostly adults. Actually, I am not sure how I am seeing this. It is as if I am there in my “orb” form, but also in my bed at the same time (though not fully lucid, only partially questioning the events). The dream seems to reset several times during the night and very early morning. I am on the belt at some points, trying to work out why my bed is moving, but I usually will myself back to where I had been and never go through any “terror” from my own perspective.

As with most dreams throughout my life, even this dream had a layer of long-term precognition (which was actually the reason I started documenting dreams in the first place to try to work out the layers and “rules” if any, as it was so common). Several years later, I worked in a factory in Wisconsin and for the first time, was close in real life to very similar conveyor belts and (identical to the dream) vinyl (or vinyl-like) ribbon curtains at the end of a chemical wash for the metal parts. Around this same date years later, I took the place of a man (whose job was to simply place the metal sheets on a wooden shelf for a pallet as they came out on the belt) who had cut himself very badly on the hand (supposedly losing a finger from what one worker said though I am not one hundred percent sure now) and the blood (and a couple pieces of his white work glove) was still on the conveyor. I guess they did not want to lose any production time (relative to parts for Ford Taurus cars).

    6. Faux Recluse (Unreal Spider)

      by , 07-20-1974 at 01:20 PM
Morning of July 20, 1974. Saturday.

This is a meticulously documented dream from when I was thirteen years old and had been involved in some trial and error messing around in taking apart old electrical items such as clocks, cassette players, record players, and radios during my summer break from school, which was mostly junk my father got very cheaply at the local flea market just north of us.

In my dream, I am concerned about spiders (as was sometimes the case in reality). Wolf spiders were very large in our house at times in real life, but a greater concern was the much smaller brown recluse spiders which can be problematically venomous (apparently depending on the person’s health). In my dream, I am aware of them being in my room in Cubitis. I decide that it will be safer to go outside at that point. (This of course is in direct contrast to my childhood dreams where I had to go inside to avoid buzzards, dogs, or wildcats outside, or in some cases, a bull or rhinoceros.)

I go out onto our carport and immediately head to our backyard area, going east, and it seems to be late afternoon. To digress a bit here, directional orientation is probably not always a viable aspect of dream interpretation, and as always, can be seen in different (even opposite) ways. Going east is both going into the sunrise (perhaps “a new beginning”) as well as the future (and also as such when reading English as well as numberlines or timelines left to right or “west to east” relative to maps) whereas going west is heading towards the sunset; completion or “retrieving” the past. In any case, I am simply going into my backyard rather than my front yard here (though backyard and front yard have different meanings and associations as well).

Looking down at my right hand, I see a brown recluse spider, except that the “brown recluse spider” is actually a capacitor or resistor (possibly some sort of play on “resist”) with eight thin wires sticking out as legs. I am in fear for my well-being (though my fear is somewhat muddied by my awe over the look of the “spider” and how it seems partly embedded in my hand). There is gel (likely poisonous) in this thing and a small amount of blood on my skin, though there is also a vague pondering on whether or not it is alive. Its eight wire “legs” are stuck into my skin on the back of my hand. It is at that point, reaching the edge of our carport (adjacent to the concrete footpath to our large partial shed), I begin to fade from my dream. This was not a more emotional nightmarish perspective, but there was a bit of concern. It takes a bit of conscious awareness to fully understand that this is not even a spider as I am waking.

(Updated Saturday, 5 September 2015.) Being that my dream was in 1974 before I heard of (or at least consciously regarded) potentially invasive microchips, I still associated the “unreal spider” with “invasive” electronics. This also relates to how spiders sometimes represent hands or the association of how one sees hands at any given time (especially considering a spider has four “fingers” on each side, not counting “thumbs” relative to human hands, and going back to the “Eensy Weensy Spider” hand play song). This “faux recluse” was seemingly essentially a reimaging and “replay” of my own hand being dangerous in carelessness with taking apart a radio the day before and slipping with a screwdriver causing a bit of gel (which I though was acidic, but it was not) to squirt into my eye; my own “hand” upon my hand in a different problematic way. A spider may also relate to tentative feelings about being touched by another person though it depends greatly on the context and the person. Of course, if a person actually has ongoing concerns with real spiders, any dream context is also likely literal.
