      Thanks!

Yeah, they tasted pretty gross... which is why I immediately started spitting them out.

Congratulations on the LD and on Task of the Month!

      Stale crackers and glue. Mmmm...

I haul myself through the window frame, ignoring the glass and making it insubstantial.
Great dream control. I've come around to this way of thinking in dream control (ignore it and it'll go away) and it's made a real difference for me.

Ooh, great idea on the handshake and asking the DC for their name! I've used a "no-look handshake" to summon DCs before, so that makes me all the more likely remember this technique in an LD. (I sometimes forget my techs in the heat of the moment. )

And thanks for the thoughts on fire breathing!

I was watching The Hobbit again last night. I hope you see this dwarf again!

Ugh, stupid planes. When flight paths get moved it always causes a lot of people all kinds of problems.

Have you tried sleeping with a white noise generator? It might help ease sleep and reduce the influence of the noisy jets. You can even find white noise on the net and you could have your computer play the file all night in continuous loop.

I think The Hobbit definitely influenced it!

I still want to know what the treasure is, too! Maybe I'll have to go find Lokmin and his band of dwarves again and keep looking for it.

Thanks! It's the first time I've attempted to breathe fire in a dream. One of the nice things I discovered about it while doing it is that, since it's an organic process, I can reason away any initial failures at doing it (my guts just weren't hot enough!) and keep on trying. I doubt you'll have trouble doing it.

Whether or not a DC actually performs the task, reappears, or even persists once I've turned my back on them, depends on how well I defined them. I actually doubt the servant I summoned would have ultimately reappeared with food because he wasn't well defined... I didn't even look at him. I was so preoccupied with my fire, though, that I wasn't even paying attention to that. I summoned him behind me in the first place to avoid any difficulties with summoning him, but once he responded, I should have looked at and chatted with him to reaffirm his reality.

Lokmin, from my last lucid dream, was pretty "solid". I actively looked at and chatted with him, so he probably would have persisted. I have found that the best and simplest thing I can do to get a DC to persist is to shake their hand and ask them for their name.

Nice dream control with the fire breathing. I don't know whether this is something that you do all the time in LD, but your approach looks accessible enough for a first-timer like myself. I'll definitely add this to my list of lucid goals.

I was wondering something about the servants. Have you tried commanding a DC to go off and bring you something before? Does it seem to generally work out all right? I'm curious whether they actually come back when given a task like that which requires them to wander away for a bit.

      Anyway, nice LD! Congratulations.

      Thanks.
It's very odd, and something I've always done. I'll be asleep and somewhere in the back of my head, I'll realize that it's alright to sit up out of my body now. The sensation of my dream-self parting with my physical body reminds me a lot of the sensation of static cling when you pull two piece of fabric apart that are stuck together... or of pulling a window cling off of a window.

Sorry, I had to laugh at the thought, what if anybody saw us as we stumble through our bedrooms, half-blind, not in control of our movements, tangled up in a blanket.

Next time if you can't see, take of your sunglasses. Or put your hands in front of your face and "see them". When you see your hands, everything around you will come into view as well.

Try yelling "awareness now" "clarity now".

Thank you for your description how you 'just sit up' by itself on your bed. I will start intending to do so and directing my muscles to do so. happy travels

      Thanks

Yeah, the in-dream WILD was funny. I'm kind of entertained that it produced the entire experience, so I basically had a non-lucid dream about trying to enter a lucid dream. It's not the first time it has happened. I guess when WILDing becomes a strong enough habit, you do it even in false awakenings.

Syringe-girl was amusing. She was so angry that she couldn't reach me!

Heh, nice work on Task of the Month! I love the in-dream WILD too! I've been lucky enough to have that happen a couple of times in a non-lucid dream, and it's amazing how nicely it works. It's interesting that your mind took you through an actual WILD-like transition. For whatever reason, I seem to go straight into a lucid dream when I do these in-dream WILDs (whereas real WILDs are usually a very, very long process for me.)

But wow, did not expect the murderous little syringe-wielding girl! Anyway, congratulations!
