    1. Nightmare: Evil Monsterous Party Crashers

      by , 10-15-2013 at 11:47 AM
The visuals were realistic and colorful. The beginning of this dream is lost, as usual..

I was at some sort of garage party... This was a garage made up of various garages and garage parties I've attended. At the party were a few people I know in real life, and other random dream characters. The place was complex and dingy. In real life I wouldn't have been thrilled to be at this party. I barely recall interacting with anyone.

At one point I decided to step outside for a change of scenery. Outside looked like the backwoods of some remote county. There was a healthy green lawn, tall white-bark leafless trees, and only one neighboring house, which was really more shack than house. (*Recall gets hazy at this point*)

Out of the shack, come the next door neighbors. Three men who looked like sinister cast members on the show Swamp People. (A show I've not watched a single episode of yet.) They were big, and glaring at me with absolute hatred. I realized that disdain for their appearance might be showing on my face, and fueling mutual repulsion..

I looked one of them up and down for something to compliment him on. I thought it would lighten the mood. He was wearing dirty jeans. Muddy boots. A stained and ripped jean jacket. A very old darkened flannel shirt, and a vest that looked like it was made in the 1950's. He had wild hair. Yellow teeth and dirt on his face with very blood shot eyes.

I said "I like that vest."

He looked at it, somewhat taken off guard by my remark. He didn't thank me, but when he looked back up at me he had this half puckered expression that revealed his rotten teeth. It wasn't a smile, but it was better than the 'I want to kill you right now' look on his face before. I started to walk back towards the party, the three men followed me a ways.

I said "We're having a party, you guys can probably come for a few beers." They seemed slightly curious, but not impressed.

I walked back to the house, opened the side door and walked back in to the dark garage. The guy with the vest leaned inside to have a look. There was now blood everywhere, and no sign of the party goers. I felt very uneasy. I ignored the neighbors and bolted inside to see what happened..

Near the back, there was trough filled with water about a foot deep. There were a number of people in the trough standing and fighting off what appeared to be something like skinless gremlins about 3ft tall. And the people were losing. Blood was splashing. Lights were flashing. Music was playing. It was like a twisted dance floor. As I watched in disbelief, a more powerful looking skinless gremlin with a bulging oblong brain leaped from a rafter and sliced another gremlin in dozens of of pieces with its steel straight edged elongated claws.

I was fighting off being horrified. It turned and faced me directly. It was hideous. About 3.5 feet tall. Humanoid. It had yellow cats eyes. Wicked snaggle-tooth fangs and a huge visible brain. No hair. No fir. Just exposed. Bloody. Densely packed muscles. It looked agile and a little bit stocky.

I said "Why did you kill one of your own?"

It said in a raspy voice "He was going to die soon anyway."

I pulled out a pocket knife and said "What happens if I stab you in the brain?!"

      It said "Try it."

I stabbed it in the brain. He rolled his eyes up to look at me. I pulled out the knife and stabbed it again further back and with more force. It acted disoriented by the second attack. I staggered back reeling with disgust. After another moment, he regained composure and started to climb out of the pool to follow me. Now, I ran. Strangely into a small room with a TV. I looked at the TV remote.

      I said
"I want to change the channel. I don't want to see these things anymore." --Then I woke up.

I have not had a nightmare since I last posted one on Dream Views. When I woke up, I felt perfectly calm and well rested. This is the most complex dream I clearly recall in about the past year.

    2. Tribes: Ascend & The Devil

      by , 04-25-2012 at 01:44 PM
I have become extremely addicted to the shooter Tribes Ascend which is a free online FPS with RPG elements like XP and leveling. I was dreaming about being in the game... I had a feeling I would because you can virtually fly in it, which sometimes inspires dream flight for me.

The initial details are all but lost. I remember having a high-tech weapon and my GF was with me.

In the middle of a futuristic outdoor daylight dream, we were suddenly transported (or entered a door) to a dreadfully unwholesome looking mansion with long corridors filled with maggots. This part I recall in fragments, but what I do recall is extremely vivid. At one point we had to crawl through these mini-halls and our hands were constantly crushing maggots into disgusting goop. My GF and I came clear of one, and came to a room with a set of gothic looking shelves stacking out of a heavily engraved desk-like piece of furniture.

On the top shelf was something like a metallic engraved pot. Suddenly, a glowing tan colored image began to project out of it. The image was very poor at first, and then a solid dark gray leathery head appeared and announced:

      "I am the devil."

The face was inhuman. Something like a classic gargoyle but the eyes were large and out of proportion. My GF and I looked at each other curiously. It went on to say something very similar to this effect:

"I am the devil. There are a few matters to discuss. First, I will compliment the mathematical formula you have devised to divide any surface into equal triangles. You are commended, duly commence to share-ing-ly express this knowledge abroad." (He was speaking to my GF who is a math wiz in real life.)

I turned to my GF and said: "Weird that the devil would use the word shareingly." (I am not 100% certain this is the exact word used in the dream, it was something very similar to "shareingly.")

He continued "You both must be hungry. But as you can see, there is nothing to fill your stomachs in my domain...
(I remember thinking, we could starve in this place.) Therefore, I will produce food to sustain you..."

A beige cloud formed around the desk, then quickly dissolved. Two delicious plates of food were left placed. (See: Stealing Mexican Food.) We both dove in without thinking twice. I noticed that there was something pulsing at the bottom of my plate. Thinking back, it seemed the only thing to make food from was... maggots. With a sinking feeling, I looked at my GF's plate. She only had a few crumbs left.
      --Then I woke up.

This is my 2nd dream featuring the devil in the past year. I don't recall any other occasions. The first was lucid, and isn't posted to Dream Views. This is the third Trickster dream posted to dream views.

    3. Nightmare: Old Best Friends & A Dark Cloud

      by , 03-17-2011 at 07:20 PM
This was early in the first sleep cycle. The dream didn't start instantly, that I'm aware of, but about 20-30 minutes later.

It was night time. I was living in my backyard neighbors house. In my mind, both of these houses were home. (They are very similar to each other in real life.) Everything was epic looking. Larger than life. The house was roughly double sized and decadent like no expense was spared making it. A bright moonlight night was outside my windows. I got a loving phone call from my girlfriend who needed a ride. I felt fantastic. I was wondering which house to take my GF too.

I went out the front door, but it exited onto my backyard patio. Standing there in near pitch blackness were my two lost best friends, in the old version of backyard (it was redesigned a few years ago). They were laughing and talking together, both harshly and intoxicated.

I don't recall exactly what was said (it may have been abstract) but it was very rude. I remember them physically surrounding me on both sides. Slapping me on the back. I felt offended and overwhelmed. They acted like crude, spiteful, burnout versions of themselves.

Just then, the backdoor opened. Out came an arm with a rather long thin, gray telephone receiver. I heard a voice say from inside the house: "Telephone for you!"

I thought, "Which of my old friends will be rude to me next?" I became very distressed and cornered feeling.
      --Then I woke up.

Waking Hallucination (?): When I opened my eyes. I was laying on my back. Above me, slightly off to the left and down a couple of feet was a large dark spot on my ceiling. I kept blinking hard. I'm sure I was awake. I looked around the room, all else looked normal.

The black spot was about a 2-foot radius. I started to focus on it carefully and could see that the edges of it were swirling. As if it was a flat-ish mist disc, or a rotating projection. It was slowly drifting away from over my bed, to the left corner near the foot.

I was watching it closely. The mist started to thin a little, and as it did: two faintly glowing eyes appeared in the middle, blankly looking back at me. They were about 10-inches apart, beady, and slightly smaller than dimes. After several seconds more, the "thing" gradually faded.

To my awareness, I've never experienced visual hallucinations upon waking up before. I was not paralyzed or having a false awakening. At no point was I afraid. I wasn't sure what I was looking at exactly. I felt more relieved to have left the dream, than afraid of the cloud. I got out of bed. I didn't go back to sleep for hours.

Fell asleep a little after 2AM and woke up at 2:38AM. Generally speaking, this is a weird time for vivid dreaming. I usually don't recall dreams in the first 3-REM stages. When I do, it typically ends a 90-minute cycle. However, I've noted a few nightmares in the first REM cycle after viewing shocking material.

Note: I have an unpublished dream journal of strong, bewildering nightmares that took place heavily in 2007, lingered into 2008. In June 2009, I had one terrible nightmare. Some of the recent trickster elements in my dreams reminded me of those days.

    4. Stalked in Dreamland

      by , 03-13-2011 at 06:52 PM
The beginning of this dream is only a vague impression of being with a group of lighthearted people.

I was inside a two story house with a carpeted spiral stairway. I saw this one shady looking guy creep down stairs to what I knew was my bedroom. I heard a laugh track (like a sitcom). Suddenly, I felt worried he was about to steal my wallet. So I quickly headed downstairs. My room was undisturbed, I walked over to my nightstand and grabbed my wallet and keys.

I turned to walk away. I noticed myself in a full length mirror mounted on the wall. I was wearing an outfit I didn't recognize. I had on a blue-gray shirt turned upside down. The fit was comfortable but in the reflection, my arms were out of the bottom end of the shirt. The short sleeves and collar were wrapped around my waist, unstressed and comfortable looking. I became embarrassed and took off my shirt, and put it back on the right way.

I exited the house out the front door and crossed over a white wooden porch. It was broad daylight. Before me was a rather large amusement park looking expanse. It had walls with outcroppings and lots and building scattered between wide open grassy areas, and walled sections. (The layout is hazy - and changing.) I walked around the area and I recall interacting with a few people (this was hazy).

I made my way over to a lively baseball diamond. A serious league style game was underway. (Not a huge fan of baseball but I watch now and then.) I decided to see how the game was going. A pitch was just then thrown and hit foul at my feet. I ignored it while the first basemen picked it up. A second pitch was hit foul at my feet, this time I picked it up and tossed it to the third basemen (for some reason), upsetting everyone and knocking him down flat and motionless.

I zoomed over to check on him and this cartoon-like man zoomed over at the same time, beating me to the unconscious player. He jumped on top of him in a flash, and sparkles of yellow energy emitted into the air, video game style. This startled me. Something about this fast moving prankster was alarming. I sped off the field to do something different. When I was several field lengths away, the wild DC yelled out: "Catch this!"

I spun around in time to see him launch the baseball at me in an arch from a great distance. As it came, it grew to the size of a football. I dodged. It crashed into a person standing nearby - utterly mowing them down with rotating white cutters. It was a pretty nasty looking way to die. I wanted to leave this chaotic character alone. I exerted great speed to loose him. (Something that works 99% of my dreams lately.) He gave chase and had no problem keeping up.

(The visuals/recall get vivid at this point.) I weaved through a magical looking hallway with multiple portals in it. One had a golden force field that I easily slipped through. I thought I lost him for sure, turned around, and there he was emerging from a similar circular portal. Huge grin, about 15-ft away. I decided to walk away at this point. Running super fast zig-zags wasn't helping. I started to feel trapped.

I asked him to show me the way out of this land. Now the DC looked a lot like the Madhatter. He gloated at my surrender and announced illustriously something close to the effect of:

"I will gladly show the way out! But first, there is something else I would much rather show you."

After the deadly baseball incident, I wasn't feeling curious. I said "No." Turned and kept walking slowly down a bizarre fun house like hallway. He said:

"All right, all right. Right this way then." He turned off the main hall and opened white double doors to a suspiciously dark area...

I said, "This isn't really the way out is it?" He looked at me sly and said, "You are right, but I really must show you one last thing before you go!"

I said "No!" and hurriedly walked straight some more.
      -Then I woke up
