DJ Log: August 20, 2014 – 2:00AM (USA Eastern) • NON-DREAM • NOTES • DREAM • LUCID • I am staying the night at a friend's house after a large party. He has a roommate who sleeps in the corner of the room. I am not at all interested in the roommate, but he is flirting with me and won't leave me alone. My friend has a huge bed, so I pick a corner and try to go to sleep. The roommate pushes me off the bed and tries to drag me into his bed in the corner of the room. He keeps holding onto me and humping me. I finally get fed up and pick up my things and leave. I am a bit upset as I am leaving because I cannot find my camera bag. I look for a little bit then decide to just leave, assuming I had lost it at the party. If I left it at the house, my friend will give it back when he finds it. Just as I am walking out the door, my friend says, “Hold on a second. Here is your camera stuff.” He hands me a milk crate full of loose camera parts. I can see that the lens is detached from the camera, but I am happy enough just to have it back. I walk outside into a parking lot which is elongated in shape and has a couple of construction vehicles parked in it. I put my things into the truck and get in the driver's seat. As I am warming up the engine a bit, I am talking to a guy who is standing outside about what just happened. He asks, “Do you think it may have been a bad dream, or do you think it really happened?” I reply, “I don't know. It was just weird. The guy wouldn't leave me the fuck alone, so I left.” He gives me a rather strange look and points behind me and says, “Well then, what about that?” I turn around just in time to see a large amount of water blasting against the driver side of my truck. It was a strong stream of water similar to what would come from an open fire hydrant. Through the windshield and passenger side, I see the water fly through the air and against some of the houses on the other side of the parking lot. As quick as it started, it stops. I look left again and see a large truck with some kind of sprayer on the rear of it. I turn back and say to the guy, “I'm glad that my driver side window was shut when that happened. If it wasn't, that would be a big mess.” He just looks at me blankly. I stare back at him for a moment, thinking that he looks a little familiar. I am trying to connect the face and name, but cannot make the connection. Suddenly, another huge blast of water hits the side of my truck and passes through the air. This time, the water passes by slowly and hovers in the air as a solid blob of water rather than a spray. I look at it for a moment, then I look at the guy outside my passenger window. He stares back at me with a blank look at morphs into a surprised/shocked look as I become lucid. I rev my engine and tell the guy, “Now, it's time to fuck with this asshole for fucking with me.” I put my truck into reverse and fully depress the accelerator pedal. I roast off some tire while backing and whip the steering to the right and the truck does a 180 slide to the left. I stop for a moment and survey the scene. On the other side of the sprayer truck is a bunch of people with horses in a small corral made of temporary fending. The guy I was talking to is running away between a couple of the houses. I look back ahead and see a guy get out of and run away from the sprayer truck. I press the brake and accelerator pedal and start a burnout in the truck. When I see the tire smoke start to wrap around to the side windows, I let off the brake and aim for the guy that was spraying me with water. I steer around a bit to keep the tires spinning and sliding, yet moving forward while burning out. I run over a row of metal posts and a couple of signs while chasing the guy around. He ducks behind a stack of wooden crates full of corn. I turn and smash into the crates and run over the guy. I decide that I should fly out of there, but I can't get the truck off the ground. I look on the dash and see a button labeled “Fly”. When I press the button, I suddenly wake up. Fuuuu, I hate those wake-up buttons.

DJ Log: December 21, 2013 9:30AM (USA Eastern) NON-DREAM NOTES DREAM LUCID I'm driving my truck when I stop at a house with a Firewood for sale sign to get a load of firewood. I pull in the lane and find the guy working on some stuff in front of an old log house. After loading a bit of firewood, he shows me how he uses a hydraulic cylinder to level the house. Part of the foundation has sunk so he has to jack up the foundation and add stone to level the house. As he is working, he is telling me how he is going to put an addition on the front of the house and connect it to the garage. As we are talking, it starts to rain a little bit. I tell the guy that I have to go and get the firewood into the garage so it doesn't get wet. I get into my truck and find that I do not have my keys. I look out and see my cell phone laying on the ground. I go pick it up, but there are no keys. I get back in the truck and look at the rain on the windshield and I wake up. After waking, I remember that I still have half a load of firewood on my truck. I pull up the weather map and see that rain is coming very soon. I go out and pull the truck under the loafer shed and it starts pouring rain as I'm walking back to the house. Needless to say, I'm glad the firewood stayed dry.
DJ Log: January 9, 2013 7:15AM (USA Eastern) NON-DREAM NOTES DREAM LUCID I am hanging out with a friend near my truck which is parked on top of a rocky cliff. It's getting late, so we're packing up all of our climbing gear for the day. I also pick up my R/C truck and put it in the bag with the remote control and bottle of fuel. It's getting dark, so I decide against trying to drive the truck down the cliff. Instead, I'll leave it there for the night and retrieve it in the morning. Just as we're getting ready to leave, a couple of guys drive up in a Jeep. They stop and talk to us for a bit, then one of the guys says, We'll push that truck down off the hill. I say, You'll leave my truck the fuck alone or I'll push you off the hill.
DJ Log: October 7, 2012 7:00PM (USA Eastern) NON-DREAM NOTES DREAM LUCID (Note: After an exhaustive weekend running sound at an electronic music festival, I get back home and decide to take an early evening nap after surfing the 'net for a bit.) I am sitting in my truck in the driveway of my parent's old house. My Mom is in the driver's seat, talking to Dad on the phone and I am in the passenger seat. My brother is sitting in the back seat playing with a small electronic game. The weather is mixed rain/snow and the snow is building up on the trees on the mountain. Occasionally, the snow falls from the trees and a couple of small branches break off as the snow crashes to the ground. My brother jumps out of the back seat of the truck and runs off. I roll down the window so I can hear the snow falling from the trees. Mom finishes up on the phone and tells me that Dad's flight was diverted because of the storm and he is currently in Delaware. She said it would be another 2-3 hours before he could get a different flight home. I told Mom, I'll pick him up at the airport. Just let me know when he is supposed to arrive. I look at my watch and see that it is 8:88PM. I just roll my eyes and look out the window again. I see my brother running into the woods. Once into the woods, he fires off a couple of shots with his rifle. I get out of the truck and quickly follow him into the woods. When I get there, he tells me that he just threw the smaller rifle back the trail because it jammed. He walks off and reloads the larger rifle. As I walk back the trail to retrieve the jammed rifle, I see that there is a horse hanging out in the woods just a bit further back. As I approach, I can hear that the horse is laughing and exchanging jokes with my brother. I walk up to the horse and exchange a hi-5 and a fist bump. As I walk away, the horse says, "have a good one, dude!", then laughs some more. I walk across a small bridge over a stream and look at my watch again. It says 8:88PM. I tap the watch face a couple of times and look again. It still says 8:88PM. Suddenly, I wake up. I lay in bed for a moment with the palm of my left hand firmly planted against my forehead. Once I confirm that I have clear recall, I get up to write this DJ entry. As I walk to the computer, I cuss myself for missing so many obvious dream signs.
DJ Log: June 9, 2012 7:30AM (USA Eastern) NON-DREAM NOTES DREAM LUCID I arrive at the location where I am scheduled to set up sound for an electronic music festival. There is a building on the right side and a field on the left side of the lane. There are a couple of RVs and several tents in the field. The building is quite large and it has several large roll-up doors. I stop my truck and trailer full of sound equipment in front of the building, then walk inside to find out where they would like me to park. I walk inside to see that there are several people already working on setting up lights and decorations for the stage. I walk around the back of the stage and find the guy who hired me to set up and operate sound. He gives me a strange look, then says, As it ends up, we're not going to use your sound system tonight. We will hold off and set yours up tomorrow. I look at him and say, That sucks. He says, I know, but I told this other guy he could have one day. I ask, Anyway, which door should I open so that I can pull my trailer in? He points to the second door and says, Pull it in along that side wall so you can plug your shore power directly into the main panel. I walk over to the door find the control box which has buttons labeled 'up', 'down', and 'stop'. I press the 'up' button and the door slowly raises, letting out some terrible squeaks on the way up. Once the door raises far enough, I press the 'stop' button and walk back to my truck. I drive inside and drop the trailer right next to the circuit panel, then park the truck outside. I pull out my shore power cable and find that the receptacle of a foreign type that my plug will not mate with. I drop the end of the cable and grumble to myself, The stupid fucking outlet is never right. I'll fucking hot-wire it. I walk back toward the stage when as start a sound check. The highs are muddy and there is hardly any bass. There are a whole bunch of home-stereo type speakers scattered around everywhere. As I walk by, I see that one of them is being driven to its maximum cone excursion, but is hardly putting out any sound. The speaker cone looks like it is trying to jump out of the box. I walk to the backstage area again and see that the guys are moving a bunch of tables from a back room. I look for a moment, then walk back to my trailer and go inside. The interior lights are on, so I turn them off and lay down on the couch and fall asleep. I suddenly wake up to a loud pop sound.
DJ Log: April 13, 2012 6:00AM (USA Eastern) NON-DREAM NOTES DREAM LUCID I am standing on the top of a ridge, looking down into a valley which is flooded. The flood waters are receding, revealing a path of devastation. I walk down the hill and find a black Ford ranger 4x4 with large tires on it. I get in and find that the key is hanging out of the ignition. I start it up and drive around a bit. I can get a decent running start, but it starts sliding around once I near the top of the hill. I try a few times and give up. I'm standing at the edge of the valley, looking through some of the debris that has washed into the area. I pick up a couple of pieces and walk off, I wake up.

DJ Log: November 25, 2011 8:00AM (USA Eastern) · NON-DREAM · NOTES · DREAM · LUCID · I am negotiating a used vehicle purchase from the farmer up the road from my house. He is selling a friend's work van, a GMC cargo van with ladder racks and utility shelves inside. He also has an older Ford 4x4 pickup for sale, but for some reason the van seems more interesting. He insists that I ride with him to plot out a test-drive path through one of his fields. I get into a small 4x4 pickup with him and we ride off into a field. He blasts through a relatively flat field and says, This can be a highway test drive. When we get to the end of the field, he drives up over a couple of dirt hills, then turns around and heads for a large dirt mound. We follow a well carved trail over the mound and through several mud holes. As we're climbing a steep slope at a lateral angle, he says, This can be the off-road testing area. Once we get back to the van, I look it over closely. There are large adhesive signs on the sides that peel off with little effort. I get into the driver seat and look at the dashboard. It has a huge array of control knobs and dials, much like an airplane cockpit. I get out, thinking that this thing is way more complicated that it needs to be. I shut the driver door and walk around to the passenger side. When I open the door, the dashboard has the standard controls and a regular steering wheel on it. I say to myself, That's more like it... just before waking up. After waking, I am a bit mad that I didn't notice the sign. Also, I would NEVER buy or own a GM or Chevrolet product.

DJ Log: March 26, 2011 9:30AM (USA Eastern) Text color legend: · NON-DREAM · NOTES · DREAM · LUCID · I am standing outside a large building, talking with a couple of friends. One is a male with dark hair and a stocky build, and the other is female with dark hair and a thin build. After discussing what to do for the evening, we decide to go to their house for a movie night. When I get in my truck, I find that the battery is dead in my truck and it won't start. The other two ask if I want to ride with them. I get in the back seat of their convertible with the female and the guy gets in the driver seat. The front right seat is missing and there is no roof, doors, or trunk. The car is just a floor pan with seats and driver controls. As we drive off, it is very noisy and windy. I ask the guy, Can we stop by my house so I can grab a jacket? He replies, Sure, is it along the way? I reply, Yes. It's right on that first mountain we're about to drive over. On one of the back roads to my house, there is a box truck and a tractor blocking the road. We start to pass them on the left side and I say to the driver, Watch out for these assholes. They will act like they don't see you, then they will run into you and not care. The driver says, Yeah, whatever. I've seen my share of people who don't know how to use the gas pedal. I'm gonna pass these fuckers like it's nothing. As soon as he tries to pass, the guy in the box truck swerves to the left and almost hits the car. We stop and watch as the truck takes a while to turn around and back into an area next to a barn. The driver exchanges a hard look with the guy in the truck, then glares at the guy on the tractor as the tractor stops in the middle of the road. The guy on the tractor glares back, then gets off the tractor and walks up to the car. He says, I saw you giving me a hard look back there, but I've decided to let it go. I say to the driver, Don't start anything with him. Let's just go. We're running a bit late. We stop by my house so I can grab a jacket. When we arrive, we walk across the yard and under a low-hanging tree with purple flowers on it. While walking up the sidewalk, we are greeted by a guy standing at my door with short blonde hair and a thin build. As I was opening my door, this guy is rambling on about choosing which amplifier to use. I say, I don't care. then walk in the house. I pick up my jacket and turn around to blackness, then wake up.
