What an interesting experience! Are you still continuing your Datura and Valerian root dreams? I would love to hear more from you.

It's definitely an odd sensation. I've only felt it a few times before and had it successfully go into a WILD. Other times I wake up in the middle of the night and get the rush and hear the white noise, but then just lay around in bed and nothing happens. I'll just eventually fall asleep and carry on with non lucid dreams, it's odd.

Yeah I'd imagine they'd be ecstatic that you've become lucid but that's never been the case for me. I know what you mean about it seeming like they know something deeper than we do, it's a very creepy feeling. At least my DC's aren't hostile when I've become lucid as I've read some people here on DV have experienced, mine are usually just aloof and confused.

@ Caden: Thanks! I actually have a thread that I'm logging my experiences on if you wanna check it out. Though I'm only on day two and have been mixing my methods of preparation, so the log might be boring for another day or two. (usually it takes about 3 days before its effects begin to take effect). I couldn't get the traditional method to work, which is mixing it in water which causes it to foam, and then you eat as much foam as you can until you feel full, then wait about an hour before breakfast; also you gotta take it on an empty stomach. I couldn't get it to foam, but I spoke to someone with lots of experience with the plant and he said that even if it doesn't foam, the dose still works if you just drink the water with the powder mixed in, so that's what i'm gonna start doing tomorrow morning.

@ LostOnTrains: Whoa thats awesome, I had no idea they existed! lololol. Mine didn't have a handle though which was a bit unnerving at first, but then I had that weird telepathic connection with it and it felt awesome. It was in my control for a whole 5 seconds before the DC knocked me off of lucidity and took off with it haha. And yeah I heard about Calea too, but heard Silene Capensis seems to have better results with people, it's just not as popular for some reason.

I liked the way you described the feeling on going into the dream. I've never experienced this, being fully aware of entering a dream. It must be cool.
I always found the reactions of dream characters to me going lucid is very strange. I mean, they are from our subconcious so they should react to us saying "hey, im lucid" in a way we expect...but they always seem to respond in a very disarming way. Its as if they know some deeper truth to it all, and you getting lucid is somehow cheapening the experience...that how it always came across to me....

Great drawing. You know those bikes exist IRL?

Im not familiar with silene capensis, but have experimented with Calea zacatechichi for dreams in the past (without much luck).

      Great sketch, good drawing skills!

How are you taking the silene capensis? I know it is an easily grown plant from south Africa. It would be great to grow it and use it as it has been traditionally used, how ever that is.

That is some very insightful advice Mayatara, I hadn't thought of it that way, thank you.

It would make sense because I've recently been trying (instead of just planning or hoping) to go vegan, or at least vegetarian, while also using more organic products and things that will cause less harm to the overall environment (which too effects them). After reading your comment, I felt as if I had an epiphany or synchronicity in understanding, that perhaps my intentions to do these things have tuned my mind to pick up their cries and have subconsciously had them projected to me in a dream.

While I'm not entirely sure if that's what you meant or if you meant it on a much more basic and non mystical level. But either way I thank you for giving me a better understanding of this dream and leaving my mind with a greater sense of urgency to help these animals, while at the same time giving me peace of mind in knowing that my efforts aren't going to waste.

I've had many disturbing dreams with animals sliced, slashed, with flesh and skin bursting and spilling their guts out.... It is always awful. But then, things like these happen all the time, every day, around the globe. I think it's just your mind getting acquainted with the suffering of the animals out there. It's their cry for help. You should really consider stop contributing to their pain in whatever ways you can! I'm vegetarian for 10 years and I do all I can to help all animals in distress. These nightmares still visit me sometimes, but at least I have my conscience clear that I'm not directly responsible for this pain in the world I see in my dreams. It makes a big difference on how I then feel on waking up.

yeah it's an odd feeling, especially to have in the middle of the night haha. i've had similar experiences before when i'm drifting off to sleep or watching hypnagogic imagery, when suddenly i snap back to full waking consciousness. but i've never had the feeling straight after waking up from a dream, it was really eerie to say the least.

:E glad i'm not the only one though!
