I know that feeling all too well!

In this case, though, I think it's a combination of the worry as well as two phenomena I've noticed in my lucid dreams.

The first is that dream characters are quite likely to become violent toward me once I express any signs of lucidity. It's as though I've broken some sort of unspoken protocol by realizing I'm dreaming and they have to rectify it by destroying me.

The other is something that another DV member, The Cusp, made a post about years ago in another dreaming forum we were in.

This has proven true for me on numerous occasions, which is why it is an important rule of mine to avoid family and close friends in my lucid dreams. I always end up breaking all my rules though.

Hmm the foolishness dream sounds exactly what'd happen to me, my mind is very susceptible to programming by worries (i have practised a lot).
I should really try and use this to my advantage and make my worries dream signs but that just keeps me awake. Maybe a suitably scary generic monster would do, it's a thought.

Somehow I didn't see your comment until just now. :O

Haha, I found that first part quite amusing as well, even within the dream. The second part was funny in retrospect, but at the time it really unsettled me for some reason. Still, its always intriguing to see what weird thing a DC might say next, even when you're expecting a more satisfying answer. That's probably my payback for just drilling him about what it's like to be dead. xD I'd like to think I'd be a bit more sentimental if I ever actually got to see him again.

Though it sounds like the tone of this dream darkened, I couldn't help but laugh at this,

Suddenly, an old woman walks up to the very front of the yard near the road. She pulls down her pants and begins to pee. "Oh, no," I exclaim, turning away and shielding my eyes.

"OH NO!" the men echo. They jump up and run away.
      and this:

My dad says, in a weird run-on sentence that confuses me, "Guess where we're not going to the chur-uurrch!" The last three words he says in a somewhat creepy sing-song voice.

Bewildered, I repeat, "Guess where we're not going---?"

He interrupts, again in his sing-song voice, "to the chur--uurrch!"
Very intrigued by this as well. I hate those dreams where you ask questions and get weird, roundabout answers that don't seem to make any sense. Happens to me sometimes too.

I was surprised myself when there wasn't a fight. I fully anticipated one, as evil as that guy looked.

I thought it was pretty cool that she mentioned the time zone difference before I even thought of it. She does seem to be quite knowledgeable even in our dreams.

Really cool dream, Lola! I particularly enjoyed you and Dreamer crawling around on the ceiling like ninjas. I thought for a moment that a serious outhouse fight scene was about to take place, but you got to your elevator so it worked out for the best.

It's also cool that Dreamer hinted at the time zone difference before it dawned on you. In my most recent lucid she reminded me about one of the TotM's, so it seems like she's worth listening to.

And great critter, by the way! I love dream wildlife creations!

I had a dream a while ago where some random girl pulled out a book and started reading what sounded like some evil "apocalyptic sounding text" with a weird filter over the noise. Couldn't make out what was being said though

It was all one dream. It felt like it lasted quite a while; I was chased through the forest for ages before I finally found that egg, and there were even more vague scenes from the beginning that are difficult to recall properly. So it felt like it lasted a couple of hours at least.

And yes, it was quite intense! Family dreams usually are, though.

Thanks! And you were definitely very helpful, even if it wasn't originally an elevator you led me to. For some reason opening up chutes in the ground seems to be the preferred way of getting down below in my dreams. Now that I've gotten my wings, the elevator isn't entirely necessary anymore. Next time I'm going to ask you to just lead me through to a more direct route, since the DC version of you is apparently relatively good with directions.

I look forward to reading about it once you do!

So cool that you included a sketch!

Awesome work on the task, you definitely deserve those wings!
Glad I could be (somewhat) helpful with directions!
It's funny that the time zone difference was brought up before you consciously realised it!
Glad the evil farmer didn't give us too much trouble.

Thanks for dreaming of me, I'll be sure to bring you along in a future lucid adventure!

Next time, for sure! If I had only gotten to that house, I know you would have been in there. Passive summoning is definitely the way to go.

And thanks! I fancy myself a writer, so that actually means a lot to me.

Good try, too bad the summon didn't work out this time!

You write so nicely, I love your style!

Can't wait to hear about our next adventure!

Mainly, I married her because it was my first playthrough of the game and since she had been there with me from the beginning I kind of just got attached to her. Nothing really about her character, just the sentiment of long-time companionship. xD

Exciting dreams! Can't say I would have married Lydia either, I'd cast in with Aela except then she'd seem to be totally unfree. So I haven't. But you're right, different strokes and all

Haha, you married Lydia in Skyrim? What a poor choice .

      Good entry. Keep it up.

      Happy lucids
