I keep a paper and pencil dream journal. I've made it my goal to type up all of the entries. I edit them for coherence and grammar, as my writing doesn't usually make that much sense first thing in the morning. I've got several months worth of entries to type up, with new entries every day. It always feels like I'm playing catch up. Maybe, one of these years, I'll win?

    1. Poor Girl, Everyone is Afraid of Her

While doing the laundry, I find out the machine came with complementary detergent. I press the button to dispense it. I get one large and three small jugs of detergent.

A girl I haven't seem since elementary school whose name I like is in my English class.

My mom is sleep-talking something about being suicidal. It's kind of disturbing, but it's still just sleep talk. She sticks me with the dog for my vacation. It's a large white poodle that looks neglected (my mom hasn't actually got a dog).

I arrive at the hotel room with the dog and my bag. I just booked my flight for tomorrow after getting here, but there's something else I need to do. For some reason I need headphones, but the only ones I can find are broken. I'm sure I packed working headphones. I make a mess while I'm looking, pulling everything out of my bag, but I don't find them. All of my stuff is so unorganized. It really bothers me. I go out to see if I can find some new headphones to buy, but I don't find anything.

When I get back, my things have been moved and I find two other people in my room: a man and his mostly grown daughter. We talk about random things while I try to put my belongings in order. I tell them I am going to Hawaii and that I have a couple of friends that go to college there. They say "no way!" I try to tell them the name of the university my friends go to, but I can't remember it.

It occurs to me I forgot about the dog, and I don't see him anywhere. I find him in the bathroom. Apparently the hotel staff put him there while I was gone. The other two people in my room have a dog, too. My books got put on the shelves, which are collapsing, and my books are all mixed in with the hotel's books. Several stacks of books fall onto the floor. It really, really bugs me to see books in that condition, but I have too many things to deal with right now to fix it. There is so much extra stuff in this room that I can barely move. There is a set of coins on the table that I didn't put there. The hotel staff left a barrette and a bunch of other crap here (I can't tell if it's complementary, or they charge you if you take it- regardless, I don't want any of this junk). I'm trying to ditch the unnecessary Hawaiian shirts I packed and get my bag ready for the flight tomorrow. I haven't even gone through it and made sure I didn't leave a knife or something in there by accident, which I am always afraid of doing anytime I have to deal with airport security.

I wake up. Blah, what a nightmare, having so much to do and not enough time and everything got messier the more I tried to organize things. I have enough of that sort of stress with going to college. I could do without in my dreams

      I fall back asleep.

I'm playing Minecraft. There's a skeleton glitching through the wall (in a corner). I was on the other side of that wall earlier. I try to kill the glitchy skeleton, but I destroy the wall instead. I quickly finish off the skeleton and try to rebuild the wall. I don't have enough stone or cobbles. I frantically look through what I do have, to see if I can find something to finish patching the wall with. I almost use coal ore blocks, but then I decide to use planks instead.

My memory of this part is so fuzzy now, but I know I was lucid. I realized I was dreaming, somehow. There was a guy in a red plaid shirt. I almost forgot it was a dream, walking past some wood tables and chairs, but I reminded myself that it is a dream. At the end, there is a girl with special powers. Everyone is, or wants to, hold her captive because they are afraid of her.

I think I woke up, but it may have been a false awakening. It feels like I'm in SP now. I'm lying on my back, unable to move. My body rotates (or, depending which way you look at things, the room rotates), and my legs end up going through the wall nest to my bed. My body keeps moving, and I end up going all the way through the wall.

I'm in a car. It's very vivid. I take a minute to admire the details: the feel of the seatbelt, the soft interior lining. Kiki (from Sluggy Freelance) is here. I get out of the car. It's parked in a parking lot with construction materials, on a bit of land mostly surrounded by a lake. I tell Kiki to come with me. She jumps out of the car and scrambles up my shoulder. Everything goes fuzzy.

I feel like I'm in SP again. There is a slight but uncomfortable pressure on my midsection.

Now I'm on a sort of rollercoaster. It's a track twisting all around a pole, over this shallow elongated pool of cheesy muckiness. I don't see a rollercoaster car that I am in, but I am going along the rollercoaster. It's like I'm pulling myself along the tracks. My point of view ought to be rotating as I'm going along this twisting track, but it doesn't. I get to the end of the twisty part of the track. Now it goes straight, but I've somehow ended up on the underside of the track. This isn't right.

After the weird track thing, I walk across a bridge. I'm walking down a corridor and see a kid with short platinum blond hair that has a bit that sticks up. He reminds me of Harry Potter. I turn left, walking in his direction. There's a door here, different from all the other doors along the corridor (this place feels like a dormitory). The one odd door looks like it could be sealed from the outside, like a vault. I open the door and look inside. A girl with long black hair is in there. They fear her because she is a summoner. She's my daughter?
      My alarm goes off.

    2. In Which I Have a Mighty Fine Hat

I'm going to my friend's house. I have a small flat box containing a piece of furniture that I bought for myself, but it was my friend's birthday recently, and I feel guilty about not getting him a present. I realize he would like this furniture, so I give it to him. See, their old comfy chair broke, and the furniture I got is a recliner. It's kind of cheap though. I'm worried it won't be sturdy. It turns out to be a very comfy, squashy blue recliner, and my friend likes it. We rearrange the furniture to make room for it.

I'm playing Minecraft with a friend. We're at the surface, and there is a gap leading down into a cave. We put ladders and torches on the edges (it's a vertical drop down into the cave). We also put burning rope (it's a sweet new light source). I want to play with this burning rope stuff because it's new. I walk onto the hole with the ladder, so I'll drop slowly down, and then I hang onto the burning rope by pressing shift. I hang from the rope for a few moments, but then I lose my grip and fall into the cave below.

There are a lot of bookshelves here. We quickly place torches throughout the room. I go down a tunnel to explore alone. I am attacked by skeletons. I defeat them with some difficulty. I realize my health is extremely low. More skeletons attack. I fight cautiously, retreating. I make it back to the main room with the bookshelves, but the skeleton is still on my tail. I weave in and out of the bookshelves, now running more than fighting. The skeleton charges at me. I can't run fast enough. I die. I respawn nearby and hurry back to collect my stuff.

I'm riding the trains, but I end up somewhere I didn't want to be. I get on the train going back the other way and go back a station.

I have a mighty fine hat. It's brown with a wide brim and has a string under my chin so I can slide it back and it will rest on my back. I somehow know that Minecraft mechanics are (still) in place, but not everything is cubes. These people are building a submarine with shopping carts and chairs. They start by digging out a few cubes of dirt, and putting some lava in the hole. Now they're building the craft on top of that. They're going to add on a 'candy chair', so I'll have a place to sit. Apparently it's really cute. I'm a little apprehensive of something that cute- it might end up being pink and kiddy and horrible. I wonder how we are going to be able to breathe underwater in this contraption, but I figure it must just take advantage of some sort of glitch.

I'm putting my backpack in one of the spaces for luggage at the back of this 'submarine'. My backpack is pretty full, but it's squishy, too. It takes a bit of fiddling to get my backpack in the luggage space, but I manage it. We've started moving while I was busy with the luggage. I'm stuck hanging onto the back instead of having an actual seat. A woman and the kid are sitting in the shopping cart shaped main area of the 'sub'. Another woman is hanging off the side and steering. There's an extra chair hanging off the other side that unbalances the craft a little.

We're moving at high speed over land and little ponds. Presumably we are going to go underwater when we reach the river. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works (although I'm a little afraid the answer will be 'it doesnt'). But I wake up before we reach the river. I'm so disappointed we didn't get to go underwater.
    3. Televised Deathmatch with Lava

I'm trying to tunnel through the nether (in Minecraft), but of course there is lava and difficult terrain (but no mobs that I recall). I am scarily close to the lava at times. Eventually the exploration turns into a deathmatch with other players. I'm doing really well. It's down to three players. We make it out the portal, instead of finishing each other off. It's televised. My mom was watching it. I brag to her that I got third place, and my friend got second. I show her how the controller works with the tv. I want to keep playing, but the show is over.

I go outside and catch the bus. It's going into an area I don't need to go to. I check the number. It's the 73. I decide to stay on until it goes somewhere useful. There's a guy and his sister on the bus. He says something about her boyfriend. They get off. I have an item called Walt's Salt. It doesn't really look like salt. It's a tiny yellow sphere with green strands coming out of one end. I should probably give it back to Walt (whoever Walt is).

I'm in the nether (in Minecraft), trying to build a path somewhere. I'm on a different level than everyone else. There aren't any ghasts.

      I'm riding the trains.

There's a little rich girl who has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. She is living in squalor and looks like a dirty street child. She is rescued by secret agents.

The devil keeps trying to convince me to sell my soul. We have some interesting conversations, but I don't agree. I don't understand why the others took him up so readily.

It's Halloween. There is a circle of black robed eeevil cultists. I'm in the circle. They ask to be dominated by the devil. I get weirded out and leave.

A guy, possibly a teacher, is splitting us up into two groups. I'm not sure which group he meant me to join, so I just pick the one I want and talk about how I don't care what I was supposed to do. No one objects.

    5. The Wonders of Living in a City

I am working with a guy to unclog toilets. The plunger isn't working well. Also ew.

We were tricked by some evil guy. We're working as a team trying to disable a bunch of atom bombs in the middle of a large city. There are dozens of video game cartridge shaped bombs (like the oooold Atari 7800 ones) covering the outside of a large metallic cube, which is taller than I am. I try taking the bombs off one by one, but there are just too many, and we are almost out of time. I drop a bunch of the bombs in the bay, but it's not good enough.

I'm waiting at the train station, but the 'train' is just a single carriage with a seat on top that could hold two. I get on and hold tight to the handles. The rail is like in Minecraft and has glitches. The track goes through a solid block. I jump off, but the cart goes through. I manage to get back on afterwards.

For some reason, I'm off the train before quite reaching the station. It's a major station, and there are a lot of lines crossing and going different directions. I try to navigate through to the right train and have to cross tracks. I get stuck between two tracks, with two trains going by me at the same time. Scary.

At the station, I'm looking through the shop to buy something to make me feel better. My parents are there. They think I want them to pay. I really don't, and I feel guilty anyway.

I get on another train. This one is a real train, but it's an old style, and there are tables and chairs like at a restaurant instead of proper seating. I remember something about an odd device. I sit in one of the chairs and drink from a glass of water (wait a second, was this someone else's glass? ick). I look out the window. A bunch of people made really impressive Minecraft-ish structures in real life. I stare and stare as the train passes by them. There are so many, so beautiful, so impressive. How could they accomplish so much in just 6 years?

    6. First Creepers, Now Lava

      by , 11-18-2011 at 07:56 AM
      7/3/2011
A Minecraft-esque dream. I'm building some kind of fort for a home base. There is a horrible creeper attack. First one blows a hole in the wall by the storeroom. I rush in to fix it, and his buddies creep in and finish me. I respawn and am trying to work back up to what I had. I get a few items back from my death. A brigand npc captures the Vaarsuvius npc (from the Order of the Stick), but I'm not prepared to be able to rescue V. I am adding potato chips to raise walls because it's all I have.

There are planes flying through a tunnel in the mountain with a lava river and lavafall. They are dropping water to turn the lava into sandstone.

J offers to help rescue V. A couple other npcs come too, one being a famous adventurer dressed in tan with a tan hat and white hair and whiskers. We descend into the cave, but the footing is precarious, and there is lava. I tell my mom not to step in that shiny stuff on the step (it'd be better to fall and break a leg than to step in that). She jumps over it, too far, too clumsy, and falls in the lava. That is NOT what I meant. J and I desperately reach in and pull her out. I feel so bad and guilty that it happened that I am even distressed after I wake up. Then I realize it can't have been real lava because it didn't hurt to reach in.

I didn't want to remember this one.

Written a day after I dreamed it.

A Minecraft-esque building. It splits in half. The top half is relocated to a giant dirt mound, where there is some sort of rocket launchpad.
