I keep a paper and pencil dream journal. I've made it my goal to type up all of the entries. I edit them for coherence and grammar, as my writing doesn't usually make that much sense first thing in the morning. I've got several months worth of entries to type up, with new entries every day. It always feels like I'm playing catch up. Maybe, one of these years, I'll win?

    Color coding scheme:
    Non-lucid
    Lucid
    Non-dream

    Goals:
    [X] Fly
    [X] Use telekinesis
    [X] Teleport
[ ] Find the sorting hat and convince it to put me in Slytherin, using any means necessary
[ ] Find my wand and cast Lumos
[ ] Talk to professor Snape
[X] Tell a DC that this is my dream
[ ] Tell a DC that this is my dream and be around long enough to see their reaction

    1. Tibetan Monks and Gladiators

We arrive in Tibet (which I know next to nothing about, and the stuff my mind came up with ranges from wildly inaccurate to patently absurd). It is still like the world was in the time of Jesus. Everyone is very poor. I talk to one of the monks in the orange robes. I want to ask him about lucid dreaming, but there are other things to talk about first, and I let him steer the conversation. He talks about how their language, French, used to be the most widely used language, and now they are side-lined as English has taken its palce. I tell him I know I am simply lucky that my language is the widely used one. He tells me I have many years to learn other languages. I tell him about how I am trying to learn German.

There are all these quarters on the ground. I pick one up, but I get the feeling that I wasn't supposed to, so I put it back down later. Then I pick up another one later. I see the monks periodically placing them on the ground. Er... oops. I really was not supposed to do that. I try to sneakily place the quarter back on the ground, but the monk I've been talking to catches me. He yells at me, saying that picking up the quarters is very wrong, causing a curse that can hurt or kill people. He made that mistake when he was younger, and people died. I'm really sorry. I didn't know. I won't do it again.

We walk. Pretty much all of the people here besides the monks are old, poor, French-speaking women, and all the monks are men. I don't see any children, although I think there are a couple other tourists, like me. The monks provide the old women with aid and advice, where they can. The monk follows me into a room, probably on a boat. I am looking at a barbecue pork recipe on the wall, while eating a piece of barbecue chicken with my hands. He asks me what it is, and I tell him.

Outside again, the monk kisses me on the forehead. This feels very weird, and I am not comfortable with this at all.

In the night, we are woken by a loud noise. We get up to go check it out. It was just a loud machine, though. The monk talks to one of the women in French. I get separated from him somewhere along the way. I'm using my cell phone for light, where there are not other lights. I'm in the living room of my old house now. I see my mom. She jumps onto the fireplace, climbing up the brick in a way that seems creepily inhuman. On the mantelpiece above the fireplace, there are two statues. There are supposed to be four. My 'mom' takes one of the remaining statues, leering at me. She is not supposed to do that. The monks will be mad. That's much worse than when I picked up the quarters, and she is doing it on purpose! I throw my phone at her.

I wake up. It's 4:15 am. At first I just jot down some notes, but that dream was so cool/weird that I decide to write it all out in the middle of the night instead of waiting for the morning.

There's a large well. I am Ian, and the Doctor and possibly Barabara are here, too (from Doctor Who). I dropped the ring down the well, but I need to get it back. There is some sort of sprite/spirit in the well, controlling the water. First the water level goes down, then it goes back up. I dive into the water to retrieve the ring and am sucked down into a hole at the bottom of the well.

I'm travelling with a partner. We're in a shop. I buy a floppy hat. We leave the shop, which is just one small part of a bigger place. For some reason, we're signing up to fight in a gladiatorial event. The line for it is very long and slow. This place has the atmosphere of a casino. It's confusing when I finally get to the front of the line. There's a teller open, but I'm not sure I can use that one. There are signs, but somehow that just confuses me even more. Are fighters supposed to only sign up at the particular teller? I end up using the same one my friend did, after he is done. The person there thinks I am someone she knows, named Rita. I play along. Half my information (address, name, etc.) is fake anyways. I probably wouldn't get through this with a teller who didn't 'know' me. I'm nervous about being discovered, though, but eventually I am done signing up, and I get my 'lotto' tickets that I can use if I survive.

It's night. The fight will be tomorrow. The guy who runs this place is evil. I find stairs going up, but when I get to the top, there is nothing there. I guess it will lead somewhere once they're finished setting up. I go back down.

I put on the floppy hat I bought earlier. It takes me a while to get all the plastic tag bits off of it. I'm with the other gladiators. I encourage them to rebel. When the staff comes along, I attack them (oddly, just this one scene is in third person). I get completely piled on, but when the others start fighting, too, I get a chance to escape.

I walk through the fire escape door, deliberately and without hesitation, even though I know I will probably be caught quickly, since these things are well guarded. The fire alarm goes off, and I step out into a corridor. The guard outside the door seems to know me. He asks how some plot I'm supposed to know about is going. I don't know what to say, but I'm not worried about that right now. I'm looking for a door that actually leads outside. I find an office, instead. I turn around and try going the other way. I find the door that actually leads outside and I start walking along the street, eager to get away. The guard is following me like some sort of puppy, complaining about how tired he is because he didn't get any sleep last night. I tell him he wouldn't have gotten any rest if he had stayed on guard duty anyway.
    2. Dream Control Won't Work Here

I'm playing dance dance revolution, and I'm trying to get people to play with me, possibly in competition. The competition somehow shifts to actual fighting, One Piece style. More than one of the Shichibukai are involved (they aren't the same ones as in One Piece though). I'm trying to survive, although I'm not that strong a fighter. At one point I fight a cockatrice with a sword. The cockatrice is 1.5 times as tall as me, and about as wide as it is tall. Even though I avoid looking at its eyes, it manages to stun me with its gaze attack. I don't turn to stone, though. Eventually I shake it off. The Shichibukai watching me makes snarky comments because I didn't completely avoid the gaze attack. I vaguely remember something about him switching sides in a flashback because he was paid with a large emerald, and that was more than the previous guy was paying him. Also, there's some sort of royal/powerful person involved in all this, possibly a vampire.

I'm in my room at my old house, and somehow I figure out I'm dreaming. It seems so real, though. I try putting my hand through the door, but it's solid. I open the door. It leads directly to my mom's room, instead of the hall. Ok, definitely dreaming. I remember the other dream I had where I was at my old house, and I had a very difficult time manipulating the dream (I was trying the trick of opening a door and having it lead to whatever place I want to go, and it just would not work), so I decide to leave this place.

I go out through the garage (there is some sort of church service in here?) and into the backyard. I keep noticing how real this dream seems (though, as I'm actually writing this, I'm just remembering thinking this, and I've forgotten all the little details that made it seem so real). I'm on the porch in the backyard, but I'm barefoot. I need shoes. I tell myself there will be shoes behind me. I turn around. Nothing. Well of course not, I would never leave my shoes on the porch. I go inside and fetch my shoes and quickly put them on. Now I can venture past the porch. The gap between the two parallel fences on the left is much larger than in real life. A white and brown dog-thing standing on its hind legs that is 1.5 times as tall as a man comes at me through the gap in the fence, barking. Instead of getting scared, I decide to get aggressive and take a swing at it. What happened next is a bit fuzzy, but the dog thing is gone. I wish I could have a sword--I'd feel a lot safer--but I don't seem to be able to make one appear here (I think slightly later on, I manage to make a sword appear, but it is there and not there at the same time, or maybe I am just imagining holding a sword. The details are fuzzy). I head out the gate.

I'm walking along the streets outside my old house, now. I need to get away from this place. As I'm walking, suddenly the street before me collapses as lava comes up through the ground. Ah, the old running-from-lava dream. I turn and run. The lava is right behind me. Like a true protagonist, I keep jumping ahead at exactly the last instant before the ground I was standing on collapses into the lava, even though I'm running as fast as I can. At one intersection (corridor?), I know I should go right (I don't know how I know), and I go left instead. It's a dead end. I backtrack as fast as I can. I run and run.

Somewhere in all that running, I forget that it's a dream. I run into a weird ghetto place. There are buildings made of chain link fence, even the roof. I'm running on top of one.

I stop at some point. A lady wants me to try a soup or discuss recipes or something. I say I always use a particular thing for soup. She has it, on the shelves, among the labeled bottles mixed in with books. She prefers a mix of all the things. I know these things had names in the dream, but I can't remember them.

Afterwards, I'm trying to use a public restroom, but there's too many people and no privacy. There's two toilets and one sink in the open in this room, and one toilet and sink in the adjacent room, but the door is broken and won't stay closed. A person in there asks if I'll hold the door closed for her, if she'll do the same for me. I heartily agree and comply. I'm holding the door shut, with my back to it. I smell something odd. What is she doing in there, smoking? Another person is smoking in the main restroom area. I hate this place.
    3. Annoying Guests

I'm at my old house. I get into a secret room in this Atlantis video game. I'm trying to tell M about it. A guy is over here, and a van full of his friends arrives. I'm in my bedroom with him and a couple that came in the van. He makes fun of the bedspread with hearts and asks me how old I am. I tell him. I feel embarrassed.

I'm in the backyard, now. A guy approaches me. He looks at me funny. I think he's drunk. I back away. He barfs on me. I scream. It gets everywhere, even in my mouth. Disgusting. I need to be clean.

I find a package in my room and open it, thinking it must be a present for me. It's Magic: the Gathering cards. I got a present for someone else?
    4. At the University

I'm at a university, attending a lecture. My parents come. I visit home. I'm packing, almost ready to leave, but my hair is messy. It's 5 pm. We have to leave now, no time for anything else. I throw on a hat.

I'm at a university lecture. Someone (the lecturer?) is wanted. He's an old friend of the family. This makes things awkward.

I realize I'm dreaming, but it's only a few seconds before I wake up. I don't RC, though, so who knows if I actually woke up.

I'm playing Tales of the Abyss. Two guys are chasing me. I am some sort of hybrid character of Luke and Simon. There is a lot of flying involved in the chase. I use special powers to dodge them, a shield and other artes. The terrain they're chasing me through looks like the world map view. I am dodging them in buildings a time or two. One of the buildings is like a restaurant. These guys just won't leave me alone. Guy asks me to teach him an arte and I refuse.

I'm trying to get all the costume titles in the game. There are ants in the backyard. I get Anise's Little Devil title. One of the guys we chased is in jail. He asks, do you know what they call me here? He is having a hard time. I am there too. I am trying to explain that I am like a female Sheldon (from the Big Bang Theory), but with slightly better social skills.

I'm at my old house. Our pet rabbit has been let out of his cage for a while. My mom is holding two birds. I ask her if there are other animals about. She says no, they are preparing to leave. Other animals would be dangerous for the rabbit. I spend a lot of time petting the rabbit. It's been so long since I've seen him (He died years ago). He uses some kind of special move, dashing about. I pet him some more.
    6. The Llama-snake

      I'm at my old house.

It's daytime. I see a llama or something through the storm door. It looks dead, and there are baby ones mewling nearby. But then the llama-thing gets up and makes itself look like a giant cobra, hissing at the nearby real cobra. The real cobra tries to slither under the door, but I chop off its head.

It's nighttime. I'm fiddling with decorations. They are the painted glass ornament kind. My mom made stew. There is too much, and she is struggling to put it all away. My dad helps.

I'm trying to back the van down the driveway, but the brakes aren't working. I barely manage to avoid hitting the car in the driveway on the other side of the street by switching gears to reverse (forward?) and stepping on the gas. Two kids I knew from my church when I was in high school are on the other side of the street, wanting to try that out with their car. I ask to see some license, and wow, they actually are that old. They try it out.

I'm watching through the window. Several cars are coming and going. They go to/through the neighbor's backyard. My brother M leaves in a car and no one else notices.

    7. The Final Boss is Weak Against Lilac

      by , 11-19-2011 at 06:33 AM
      7/4/2011
I'm controlling four protagonists in a video game. I'm searching through a dungeon to find items, which I find. The final boss appears. I panic and realize I've forgotten the controls. I wing it. The boss has four weaknesses. I must decipher each. They're written in code, and the game won't pause so I can look it up. The first one is lilac. I'm running and dodging through rocks, now through a theater. I find a lilac bomb and use it. Now I have to figure out the second weakness.

I have a false awakening and am working on trying to remember my dream. Then I actually wake up. But I fall back asleep. Er. Probably.

I'm in the garage of my old house, fetching something from the freezer. My mom wants tomato. I cut one up for her, but she isn't happy with it. Something about cutting onions and video games. The way M's mom cuts onions is weird, and I shouldn't do it that way.
    8. I Stabbed Draco Malfoy

A rundown shack with a convenience store nearby. There is some kind of secret history. A baby the size of a couple of fingers is growing in a butter dish.

I am at my old house. I find some sort of secret space behind a broken mirror, but my flashlight isn't bright enough to explore it, so I leave, intending to come back later. I do my hair or something.

I'm in the backyard now. It's raining very heavily. There is a garden with spots for many things, but only a single cabbage and a couple other things are growing there. I am given a sheep named Jeanie. There is some sort of emergency. I call for Jeanie to come, but she won't, so I go inside without her.

In the kitchen, my brother M is explaining about our defenses, such as not having the kitchen blinds closed the wrong way so we can't see. Brigands break in. I fumble around desperately for a blade. I find a long, skinny blade with a too-small blue handle on my dresser. I clumsily block a couple of attacks by a brigand with my awkward sword and retreat into the back room. I close the door and open it again only to see Draco Malfoy attacking. I somehow manage to partially close the door at the right time so that he stabs the door instead of me and gets his sword stuck. I stab him in the shoulder. I am very proud of myself.
