    1. Video guide

      by , 06-06-2012 at 08:37 AM
I was travelling for a week and didn't do any active effort. I was mostly very tired and slept irregularly, anyway. This one, however, was memorable enough to stay with me.

I'm drifting in and out of sleep, in an unfamiliar place, tired but cannot sleep well. When I enter sleep I'm usually aware that I'm dreaming and awareness of the sleeping body disappears. I practice flying. I start from the ground, a park with green grass. I figure I'm starting from my home town, and want to visit the Alps. I get close to the level of the lowest clouds when I hit a roof and come out of what seems like a set for a play. I wake up a little and notice I'm in a bed.

I drift of again and decide to try flying horizontally this time. I'm not moving fast enough to get to the Alps in one night. I try to boost the speed with my willpower, then start saying "faster" out loud. This helps. I come to a scout camp site somewhere in Germany. Not quite there, I need to go southwest. I look at a wooden sign in the forest trying to figure out where I am.

There is a disconnect. Now I'm in a room with a young man, a couple of sofas and a tv. He tells me I know why I'm there. I nod. He starts running a video about some spiritual stuff. I tell him I know the basics of most of these belief systems and we should get on to the real, experiential and technical stuff. I have a remote and I try to fast forward but instead, it seems, I turn the thing of. The man tells me this will take a long time if my technical skills are like that.

I get distracted and I'm drifting to a non-lucid dream, when I hear the man say something about me being impossible. I snap out of it and return to the movie. Some new age stuff. I decide to sit trough it just to please him. I wake up after a couple of seconds, however.

    2. Spy Stuff and Throwing Balls

      by , 05-19-2012 at 08:53 AM
      First

I'm with my wife, and we are breaking into a building complex. The door is actually not locked, but we are not welcome. We find our way trough a complex of corridors and stairs, ending up to a laboratory room with three people in it. As we enter the alarm goes of. The doors of the laboratory start closing very slowly, and gas starts pouring in. One of the people in the room says something sarcastic to us. They don't seem to be scared of the gas at all.

My wife rummages trough some drawers and finds a paper. The other people don't do anything to stop us, just offer snide comments. We have more than enough time to leave the laboratory before the doors are finished closing. After getting out of the building we start running.

I think if I was dreaming we could just fly away. Or then again, probably I couldn't fly very well, but jump at least. Then it crosses my head, I am dreaming. I'm not exactly sure so I try jumping. I get a lot higher than I should. Then the scene faids, and is replaced by the blackness behind my eyelids.

There is a feeling of vibrations and some imagery, quite clear but not realistic. I think I should try just going with it, waiting for the vibrations to disappear before trying anything. I don't do any formal technique. At some point I drift to sleep.

      Second

I'm in my kitchen with my wife. She is throwing balls up to the ceiling. The ceiling is not solid, it makes a splat and the balls get stuck. I want to try to make the ceiling completely liquid, so that the balls would pass trough. But they just keep splatting, and getting stuck. I jump upward, putting my head trough the ceiling, which offers no resistance. I come down again and ask her to try one more time. The ball, again just splats to the ceiling, maybe a bit deeper this time.
    3. Flying with Ghosts and a False Awakening

      by , 03-28-2012 at 11:12 AM
The third lucid dream since starting the journal. Again, I seem to be lucid straight from the beginning. Before going to bed I was thinking I’m going to just lose consciousness just for a while and become conscious in a dream.

I'm flying trough the sky somewhere where the lowest clouds would be. I'm clearly aware that I'm dreaming. The sky is clear and I can see the ground very well. There are lakes and rivers and hills. I fly over a haunted house and take a closer look. There is a ghost flying around the house. The ghost decides to follow me. I get a little scared because the ghost my catch up with me and I don't know what would happen then. So I turn up and the ghost just passes by.

I continue up to the sky, wanting to go to space. I seem to approach some kind of a limit and the dream shifts. I'm in the bedroom. I'm still flying, and I try going trough the roof, but cannot.

I'm in my bed now. It's very realistic, I can feel the blanket and everything. I feel hot. The scene flickers a bit and I see some hallucinations. I, maybe correctly, identify them as hypnagogic hallucinations, but fail to realize that I cannot be awake. I see images floating in the room, pictures of things. There is a grill in the bedroom, and the cover part starts moving, flying in the air and making a sound. I'm getting a little scared, this is not really supposed to happen when I'm awake.

My wife wakes up and I ask my her if she sees these things. She says that she doesn't. I figure it's going to pass sooner or later, and it's not really dangerous. My phone rings and there is a message on the screen. "My husband left me." It's some relative, and it's actually a conference call with some other relatives listening as well, as she's explaining the situation. My wife is on her phone and she gives me a knowing look. She's talking with the husband.

I notice it's not really late, not even midnight yet. So I listen for a while.

I wake up for real and do a reality check this time.

    4. More Lucid Than Usual, Dream Control, and Mostly Boring Walking Around

      by , 03-05-2012 at 09:36 AM
I was thinking about dreaming for a while without falling asleep. I tried following my breath and counting it by saying "this is a dream" on each breath.

      First

I loose consciousness. I find my self in a room a moment later. I'm clearly more lucid than usually, although I do not clearly understand that I'm sleeping. I try flying, or floating upwards. First i just float a bit and stop. I gather my concentration and float trough the roof to another appartement, and on all the way to the top floor.

I stop in the top floor because I cannot imagine what going trough the foor would be like. I'm only dimly aware that I'm dreaming. I try jumping from the floor and pushing myself up using a windowstill and a bookshelf, but I always stop at the ceiling. I think I should go outside if I want to get higher.

I see someone on the balcony, apparently the owner of the appartment. I hope he doesn't see me. I'm not quite sure anymore how it was that I got the ability to fly, and think that I might be an invisible ghost. He sees me, though. Try to go out trough the balcony door, but he comes towards me. I hide in a small room and lock the door, but there is another door that opens to the balcony, and he opens it.

The man says something and I tell him I can show him something cool. I take his hand and jump of the balcony. He falls on his back four floors below and I land next to him. I try flying upwards again, and rise above the rooftops.

I land a bit farther away and try again. This time I cannot fly very high, but putting my hand forward like the Superman helps me fly forward quickly. There is a store in the second floor and I wonder about this.

      Second

I take a kid to a daycare and talk with the people there for a while. I go outside to do something, don't remember what, and come back. The daycare workers have some sort of a filosophy that they like to explain to everyone. I don't feel like talking about it too much, that kind of people get upset too easily. Instead I walk around and look at the interesting decor the daycare.
