    1. Spell's Summer Comp Night 4: Bamboo Pool

by , 08-02-2016 at 01:13 PM (Lucid Time!)
I remember I was at nondescript beach resort. I was there for some kind of convention for Skyrim there. I remember making a daedric sword out of styrofoam and delivering it to the convention (don't remember where the convention was taking place, but it was this huge building and seeing the inside it looked like a school science fair, except everything was Skyrim themed, obviously.) I was going back to my room when I recognized the dream sign of being at the beach.

I went inside of one of the rooms and saw it was much bigger on the inside. There was a hot tub and a swimming pool. There was this rock formation in the swimming pool made out of brown rocks that had water flowing down into the pool from it. The walls of the room were all bamboo and wood. I think the bamboo was alive because there were branches with leaves on them that became the ceiling. Also the only light in the room seemed to be coming from the bottom of the pool.

I knelt down by the side of the pool and felt the tiles for some stabilization. I then noticed that I could see my reflection in the water. I somehow got the idea to bring Manei into the dream using my reflection. I tried to focus on changing my reflection into her, and it worked. The reflection solidified and she came up from under the water. She looked a little funny as she retained a few of my dream-selfs facial features, but it was her all right.

I remember the two of us stayed in the pool for awhile and we were talking for awhile (twas about something personal that I was meditating on yesterday, for offline DJ only...) I remember she was talking to me about the seven sins and desires, but I remember thinking to myself that I wasn't going to bother "taking that back with me" when I woke up.

We tried to make a whirlpool in the hot tub by walking in circles and it worked. We tried going the other way and felt the current push us for a bit, but it stopped. There was some significance to the circular motion of the current we had created.

I remember at some point I was asking her if she could touch the bottom of the pool, because I couldn't. I told her that usually she's taller than me and she said she could stand with her head completely out of the water. I remember looking underwater thinking of the dream goal to go underwater and look. (Forgetting that I was supposed to do it in a lake or ocean.) The pool was really boring, it just had a sloped bottom consistent with the surface. It got really deep in one end, I think there was a diving board.

I tried to think of dream goals I had set for the competition. I remembered one of them was to build a sand castle. I could go back outside and do that very easily, but for whatever reason I didn't do it. I then thought of the water-bending goal. I tried various hand motions but it didn't seem to affect the water at all. I tried more of a mental focus just moving the water with my mind instead of hand motions. I think I might have stopped all the waves on the surface of the pool, but I didn't ever think that I had really succeeded.

I remember asking her for help. She said she would show me waterbending and proceeded to splash me in the face the normal old fashioned way.

      "That's not waterbending."

She proceeded to spit a mouthful of water at me.

"That's not waterbending either." (Come on, this was one of the first things you ever taught me.)

I began thinking that the dream might be too grounded, too much like reality, and I'm going to need to introduce a fantastical element before I can unlock fantastical powers. I backtracked on my own thought and figured that Manei is a fantastical element, not real in waking life, and she's been right here for like ten minutes. Why isn't it working...?

A chubby guy with a big beard came in and said that I had won first place in the skyrim science fair whatever for my styrofoam Daedric sword.
He asked if I really made it in 15 minutes. I had only been dreaming for about that long at this point, and through some error of logic I said yes. He said that the Daedric sword was a level 1 sword and the easiest to get in the game but I corrected him saying you can't get one until about level 40. I started talking with the guy about Skyrim but realized I was losing lucidity, so I stopped talking to the guy and he went away.

I think I falsely remembered a dream goal to ask a dream character to tell me a joke and wanted to hurry up and do it before the dream ended. I asked Manei to tell a joke.

"What planet is the butt of every joke?" She asked it with a big smile like she thought it was gonna be a really good one.

"Uranus." (I made that joke up when I was like ten.)

"I can't think of any more good jokes, my tummy keeps grumbling. I'm so hungry, I could eat a birthday cake as big as you! The next dream is Bartholomew, i'll eat it there!"

I false awakened in the basement of my house. I saw a painting of a giant butterfly on the wall. I closed my eyes and opened them again and the butterfly was real and the painting was blank. It started flying toward me.

I thought to myself "It's just a false awakening, don't be tricked by it." I was about to stabilize and keep a good thing going but I lost the dream.
and woke up. It was 5:00am. I waited about half an hour for reentry but decided it better to just get out of bed.

    2. LD #295: Taekwondo and Deadpool Clones

by , 06-03-2016 at 03:44 PM (Lucid Time!)
I started Taekwondo a little over five years ago. I did the same with proper lucid dreaming practice. And for anyone who reads my dream journal, they know that random martial arts fights break out. (Often with me a participant) The one thing setting this apart from other common themes is that the martial arts dreams (I use the term martial arts as a general term since some of the moves used are clearly not taekwondo) is that they are often tied to semi lucid or lucid dreams, while other dream themes. Space themed dreams, for instance, are almost always non-lucid.

I theorize that because I began lucid dreaming and taekwondo at the same time, Taekwondo became mixed up in that phase of heavy learning in the beginning with lucid dreaming, and is now pretty much a permanent aspect of semi-lucid and lucid dreams. Probably should feel happy that I hadn't started say, driver's ed at the same time I began lucid dreaming. Then my life would be a never-ending string of car-crash dreams.

I remember being on the main street of my town. We were under attack by deadpool clones. I think there were 6 or 7 of them, and they all had numbers on their foreheads. They were made by an evil comic book antagonist who was 'testing them out' on our town. I also remember there was a school bus loading up kids who wanted to take them away because deadpool was rated 'R'.

I reached into hyperspace and pulled out the anti-regeneration sword from the comic. (The one I saw on Death Battle) I started fighting them. I remember each of the deadpools had a different aspect of the deadpool amplified. One was super fast, one was super strong, one was extra crazy, etc. The one that was extra fast ran around me and there was a one punch man reference where he tried to kick me and I just held up my fist and his momentum carried his no-no zone into my fist. I think the dream even went as far as to show the 'technical difficulties' screen for a few moments afterward.

I recall at one point attempting to throw a lamp post at them, but super strength has never been my forte in dreams and when I tried to throw it it dropped before it made it to them.

But there was also logic that since they were aspects of the deadpool they all had 1/7th his intelligence of the original and were all as dumb as bricks. That's how I was able to beat them. I remember I got onto the last one who had a blue and black costume instead of red and black. He was supposedly the boss guy. He said something about chimichangas and pulled two burritos out of his pants. He bit two of them and spit out grenade pins then threw them at me. I dodged by hiding right next to my taekwondo studio. I distracted him with a poster of a naked woman that I pulled from hyperspace and threw my sword at him when he was distracted.

He didn't die though, he just became neutral and stopped attacking, and seemed completely uninjured. He made some kind of fourth wall joke, but in the dream that translated into saying something about the dream and making me
lucid. (I had already been semi lucid.)

I remember blue deadpool walked off. I was standing outside the taekwondo studio. (I think it was on the wrong side of the street though.) I was lucid, but I was in a bit of a daze. I didn't know quite where I wanted to go with it since I wasn't expecting to be lucid. There were a few people standing outside waiting to be let in, none of whom I recognized from WL. One of them was this really old lady who was only about 4 feet tall and hunched over on a cane. She had a white belt uniform and she said that it was sparring class today, me vs her. It seemed like she was so old and frail she shouldn't be able to lift her leg to kick, but I could tell something was about to happen.

Sure enough, her opening move was to leap several feet into the air (additional note: dream martial arts usually seem flashy and impractical. If you've ever heard someone say that the martial arts in movies are flashy and impractical to make for a good film, well those also seem to be the moves that are used in dreams. Probably because dreams are a visual representation of a conflict or aspect of yourself, like a movie. They're not meant to be like waking life. But I just punched deadpool in the groin, and distracted another with a pin-up poster. Who am I to talk about this.) and attack me with a bunch of kicks. I blocked all of them.

Me: [I knew it. A trick!]
Her: [Hmph! Everyone I know falls for that.]
Me: [I haven't been around as long as you, but I'm no fool.]

She kept attacking me. I played defensive, waiting for her to make a mistake, leave an opening, or just get tired, but she wouldn't have it. I tried going outside her range, but she was too quick to close the gap. Eventually I saw her let up. Jumping snap kick threw her through a loop and tagged her chest. She jumped back.

Me: [I can't believe someone as good as her fell for that old trick.]
Her: [This is the same one who *garbled* Jonathan. Shouldn't have placed my expectations so low.]

I tried to put my foot down. I could tell the fight wasn't over and might have escalated from simple martial arts to including dream powers. But for some reason my right leg was stuck to my pant leg in a weird dreamlike way that left it bent and I was stuck standing on one foot.

Her: [Well put your foot down! Fighting Stance, let's go.]
Me: [I can't... well... this is embarrassing.]

She came over and helped me by putting a magical golden paperclip on my pant leg that would supposedly stop that from ever happening again. I guess the fight was over.

She said something and the dream scene shifted to the beach from my first lucid dream. The old woman said something about reconnecting with the past. I lost the dream the moment after we transitioned and woke up.
    3. Changing Colors in the DW, Eating, Successful Teleportation. (LD #293)

by , 05-03-2016 at 01:49 PM (Lucid Time!)

I remember I had to take care of my new youngest cousin. She was just a baby learning to walk and her name was 'Baby'. I remember thinking to myself how that name wouldn't make complete and total sense because when she got older she wouldn't be a baby anymore. She kept challenging me to races around the house and for someone who seemingly learned to walk yesterday boy was she fast. But I still beat her. She didn't get upset she just continually challenged me pointing out different courses we could take.

      ...

More Lego Dreaming. Don't remember what it was about. (this is the 6th straight night there's been something Lego related.)

      ...

I remember walking down a beach. I was with my family and cousins. (Different cousins, my mom's family cousins.) We were supposedly on holiday in northern Michigan. I remember we were staying in a beach town and visiting the beach. My aunt said something about people not agreeing if it was 60 degrees or 80 degrees.

I remember walking past these dream characters playing in the sand. One of them had this contraption that was making perfect ~6in sand cubes and sticking together like Minecraft blocks. He was making quite the sand castle, too.

I remember looking a ways down the beach and seeing that it got less crowded. I decided we should go there. But at some point before we reached our final site on the beach that I became lucid. I did a reality check, and laid down some stabilization by wiggling my toes in the sand.

For some reason I remember messing with the colors of the dreamworld. It was kind of like adjusting things in Photoshop where you can make the colors extremely vivid or something. Eventually the setting that I decided upon was slightly more vivid than it was before. It was pretty, though. I also managed to change the temperature in the dream world to be warmer.

I began walking back up into the town. I just remember the town had this row of white buildings on a slight hill, then a road, then a large plaza-like area where I was standing. The town also had a train station and a bakery. The bakery was a very small building with a glass storefront close to the beach where we had been earlier. There was also a massage center next to it... Interesting choice of buildings...

I remembered one of JustMe13's challenges. (Actually I think it was a false memory.) I remembered that I wanted to experiment with food in a dream. I reached into hyperspace (behind me) and pulled, well it looked like a muffin or a small pie. I bit off part of the top. It had flavor and texture, that was a lot like eating corn bread or a nut muffin or something. Not super strong, discernible flavor, but reasonably strong.

I then realized that I've had food before in a dream. Now here's where I can take it to the next level. I need a second food item. I want to see if I can get something that tastes different. I think to go into the bakery, but when I do, it turns out the bakery was a much bigger building on the inside than it was on the outside, and there was a gigantic line of DCs. I remember right in front of me were five or six tall black men with spears and loin cloths. Some kind of tribesmen. I didn't want to pick a fight, so I just figured I'd reach into hyperspace again and hope for something different.

This time I got a chocolate frosted plain doughnut. I started to make my way back outside. I sampled the doughnut. Different texture, softer. Different flavor, could taste the frosting. Back to the muffin. Kept going back and fourth between the two, until I'd eaten them both.

I somehow wound up wandering into the train station while I was distracted. A security guard grabbed me and another guard told her to 'put me with all the other weird ones'. She locked me in the second story room of the train station. I remember there were some brains sitting out on the table. There was also this guy with long blonde hair. He had a viking helmet on and looked to be about 20. (Also he was a disembodied head nailed to the bulletin board, must not forget that small detail.) He smiled at me and said that the brains I saw sitting on the table were from people that had lost their minds. Apparently this room was essentially the Train Station's lost-and-found.

But that didn't change the fact that I was waiting for the guards to figure out what they were supposed to do with me. There was one window in the room, but I didn't feel like breaking it or squeezing out. I figured I'd teleport somewhere else, or at least try. I felt like I'd already been in an LD for several minutes, so if I woke myself up trying to teleport, I'm not wasting the whole dream.

I remember I put my hands together and did like that ninjitzu thing.

      "Tesseract-A-Beach"

I was very surprised when the dream actually changed to a beach setting. It wasn't the one from before. I remember seeing the ocean with waves rolling in and the white sand. (Granted I had been on a beach earlier in the dream, maybe that's why I had success.) There was a single palm tree and a cluster of fern like plants. The sky was clear with only a few clouds.

I've had many a failure with teleportation in the past, so my first instinct was a celebration. I think I jumped up and down and shouted "WA-HOO! I TELEPORTED!" I noticed that the dream was getting dark. I knelt down and felt the sand trying to hang on, as the dream was starting to become unstable. "I TELEPORTED! I'M PROBABLY GOING TO WAKE UP NOW, BUT I TELEPORTED!" [Does a little happy dance.]

Yeah I did end up waking up a little bit later. There might have been a false awakening that I forgot.

    4. Kyte and Fronz, A lucid from awhile ago (#249)

by , 09-03-2015 at 12:48 AM (Lucid Time!)
Kyte is a volcanic moon orbiting far from a large reddish brown gas planet with an apperance not unlike Jupiter, only it is larger and has a higher percentage of heavy elements. Only the planet is closer to its parent star. The parent star is an orange dwarf with a little less than half the mass of our sun. It is a part of a binary system with a red dwarf, but the red dwarf orbits far out and is barely visible in the daytime sky. However, at night, it is quite visible, meaning that there is a sort of "twilight day" when the smaller and more distant star has risen but not the primary star.

The moon is much smaller than earth. 0.22 earth masses and fairly low gravity. There is an atmosphere with a high amount of noble gasses. Notably argon and xenon. The atmosphere is a snowy grayish color at sunset and sunrise and has a slight purplish tint during the day. There are clouds but they are often very thin and wispy. At the lowest points the atmospheric pressure is about 0.7 atm.

The terrain varies little, though the entire surface of the planet is black and gray, due to very high carbon content. There are a few deep canyons and impact craters. Though most of the planet is relatively flat and sandy. Sand is carried by the strong winds and occasional storms that blow through and made into dunes.

Though the moons' most notable feature are the large volcanoes spread out across the surface. They are concentrated near the equator but are present nearly everywhere. They have an unusual sweeping shape, beginning with a shallow slope and sweeping upward to nearly vertical chimneys miles tall. Most of these volcanoes are dormant or extinct but a few are quietly erupting small amounts of magma in deep channels running down the side.

The planet generates anomalies in the magnetic feild of the parent gas planet. This coupled with tidal heating and heat from the sun ensures that the moon is rather warm. Due to its dark color, it has a very low albedo and surface temperatures range from 80-150 degrees.

The moon has its own sub-satellite, an asteroid known as Nobal. It is only a few miles across and spins too fast for gravity alone to be keeping it together. It is theorized that it is one single rock being held together by chemical bonds.

Fronz is another moon in a very close orbit around the gas planet. Due to its orbit, it is believed that in a few million years, it will pass the roche limit and be torn apart by its parent planet.

It is much larger than kyte, about .43 earth masses, but still small. The moon is made mostly of water-ice with trace amounts of ammonia and oxygen in the atmosphere. Though the moon is mostly covered in ice, near the equator the ice melts resulting in a narrow band of water. The moon has complex weather patterns including snowstorms and snow-hurricanes.

There is a third major moon orbiting the gas planet between Kyte and Fronz, but no information is given, though it has importance. There are also dozens of smaller bodies, presumably captured asteroids. Kyte and Fronz are very important because together, they posses all of the necessary resources for long term habitation. Bases will be set up on both moons, but a large orbital habitat will be constructed between the orbits of Kyte and the unnamed large moon. Supplies will be mined from these moons and shuttled to the orbital habitat.

I close my laptop and abandon the project. It is something akin to Kerbal space program with is somehow also 'real' at the same time, and I feel very frustrated/sad that I have abandoned it. I 'remember' having worked on it for a very long time. I have to go to the store to look at quartz crystals with my mom. Should have become lucid. Space/planets dream sign.

      ...

I was on a beach with Manei. Same beach that my first LD took place on. She gives me one of those 'broken heat' necklaces that light up when the two halves are put together. She has the other half.

I ask her why. This seems like a really cheap/gimmicky thing to show love or friendship. I'm generally bothered by this and ask her what her reasoning was, and to be honest I'm still walking a tightrope on the whole 'being in love with a dream character' thing for reasons too complex to go into detail here. She explains that I should ignore the physical aspect of it and focus on the meaning behind the object. Oftentimes, objects with little or no monetary value can have great personal value and vice versa.

Okay. Makes enough sense. I then commented on how I like the fact that my dreams do seem to periodically explore new morals and themes, and sometimes offering differing perspectives on old ones. I also like the fact that I am not always the fool when these morals are taught, and am sometimes the teacher rather than the student.

I think the necklace had some kind of voice recording that would play when the two halves were put together. I can't remember. This dream was very faded, and I recall their being much more to it. It may be getting mixed up with a fake lucid dream I wrote for the sake of visualization set in the same location. I feel as though I actually had it about two weeks ago but only recalled now, as if it were buried in my mind somehow.
    5. Really Weird Night (LD #174)

by , 02-28-2015 at 04:31 PM (Lucid Time!)
A nightmare where I was looking into the mirror in my bathroom. The skin on my chest/stomach peeled off and my internal organs started to fall out. I remember my heart looked artificial and had some kind of gauge or pressure meter on it. I screamed and woke up.

wtf I haven't had a nightmare of any sort in like two years...

After that, I wanted to go back to sleep to see if I could snag some lucidity before morning. Some disjointed fragments led into a couple of congruent LDs.

-Something to do with my college dormitory. For some reason I was wearing golden earrings in the dream, somebody commented on them, saying that they looked good. I asked myself when I got piercings and could not recall. I didn't become lucid though.

-Something to do with drawing and a tin of colored pencils.

-I was playing LBP3. I was designing this level where you would run across all of these little white platforms that were moving and stuff was firing on you. There was also this big metal bridge that would unfold when you got close to it. A was there, commenting on how he liked the game-play aspect of it.

I was at the community pool in my cousin's hometown, though almost nobody was there except me and someone else. I was just chilling in the shallow end of the pool when this bully character approached the two of us. He picked us both out of the water and said he wanted to try and drown us in the deep end.

I tried to punch him but it didn't do much.

I elbowed him in the face and managed to swim away. He followed me out of the pool. I turned around to fight him. He was buff and had long blonde hair and short thick facial hair and blue eyes. It was also at this moment that I noticed that I was still wearing gold earrings. I thought this might put me at a disadvantage because he could grab them.

I ran in and kicked him in the stomach. He reeled back. He was almost at the edge of the pool. He came back and tried to punch me. I ducked under it and put my leg behind his. From there it was easy to just push him into the water.

He looked at me angrily. I thought he was going to just get out of the water and attack me again, but he seemed to just be waiting there. But this other DC showed up. He looked like Santa Claus except his outfit was all white.

He said something about learning to be submissive and recognize your own inferiority. He said that this was meant to be some kind of dream test and that I had failed it.

For some reason, I was just boiling mad at this Santa/Guide character. I started screaming at him that people shouldn't be taught to be inferior and submissive, and that you can't mold people into what you want. They will do their own things and form their own identities and moral codes and there is nothing that you can do about it.

I got so mad at him that I FA'd in my living room. But it felt smaller. All of the furniture had been pushed into one end of the room an there was a small Christmas tree in the room with some presents under it.

This seemed strange to me. I did a nose pinch RC. Lucid dreamin' baby. I had almost become fully lucid in the last section, but now I could think clearly. I still wanted to see Manei. I started calling her name, expecting her to simply be upstairs or something. No reply. I thought to go outside, but saw that it was very, very dark. The kind of darkness that would make me lose the dream.

I then realized that stabilizing would probably be a smart idea. I rubbed my hands together.

"I will not lose the dream until I have accomplished one of my goals!"

I then thought to try teleporting to the beach location. In the past my teleportation efforts have failed miserably, so I was gonna have to really commit. I closed my eyes and started visualizing the beach in Puerto Rico that my family goes to every year.

I started to see it in the center of my vision. I thought that I should start engaging my other senses. I tried to picture the sound of waves crashing on the shore, the smell of saltwater and the sun on my face.

However when I opened my eyes I was still in my home, but things were different. I saw that it had gotten considerably lighter outside. It still appeared to be foggy and gray, but I could make out the street and plants. The entire backyard had been taken over by a massive jungle/forest. There was a huge vine with massive mango-like fruit growing on it. (When I say massive Mango-Fruit, I am talking 3-4 feet across.

I made my way out the front door to get a better look at what was outside. The dream's clarity started revving up to very high levels here. I saw that half the neighborhood had been overtaken with these huge gnarled branches. There seemed to be pieces of a structure in there, as if it were made of I-beams.

I followed the gnarled branches up to see a huge tree, literally miles tall. It seemed as though as it got farther away, it looked less and less like it was made of wood. It seemed to be made of stone or metal, and had complex designs of overlapping circles and rune symbols on it. It was supporting the sky, that appeared to be solid, made of high-technology structures (like the surface of the death star). There were windows or some kind of white lights scattered about on the surface. There seemed to be places where it had rusted through though and real vegetation was growing through it, both on the tree and the sky.

The sky had to be 50 or 100 miles up. There were layers upon layers of thin, misty clouds surrounding the tree trunk. The thing that I remember the most was the temperature. It was sooo hot and humid in this dream.

I couldn't believe the enormity of these metal trees, and I had to check them out for myself. I started flying, but for some reason moved backwards very quickly. I stopped and stumbled.

"No, I want to go UP!"

I started flying again, but I still went backwards. I lost control of the ability to fly and got pulled out of the scene. Everything started shrinking and getting darker. I saw more of the trees supporting the sky ceiling for a moment. It looked like some of them were just tree stumps.

Somebody told me that this was a forest that had been cut down by giant cosmic beings from the seventh dimension, millions of years ago, but it was growing back now. I saw my town on a remove section of earth, like a SimCity tile, floating in nothing.

I was in a black void. White cubes were scattered about. I was still pulling backwards at increasingly fast speeds. I thought I might hit one of the cubes, not being able to see where I was flying.

      I woke up.

Interpretations: I really have to come back to these after I've had some proper time to think about it.
    6. Fear Hospital (LD #173)

by , 02-22-2015 at 02:55 PM (Lucid Time!)
Something to do with a dance-off taking place on a beach. There was an absurdly sized boombox (about the size of a semi trailer) being positioned on the beach. Then the power went out and the man organizing the dance-off was upset because the boombox had to be plugged in.

I was visiting at a hospital. This wasn't a normal hospital though, it was supposed to treat people of their worst fears. How? By making them suffer trough the trauma of their worst fear again and again but without pain. I don't know completely how this worked but they could make you experience your worst fear as many times as they wanted.

I don't remember if this was for punishment or what.

They had a means of extracting what your worst fear was subconsciously.

I remember seeing the first couple rooms closest to the desk. Patients were grouped by their fear. The people closest to the desk had the worst fear of 'death'. I remember them being hooked up to heart rate monitors. They would start and stop every ten seconds or so, so basically the patient was dying repeatedly in the bed.

I remember approaching one of the people on the bed. He looked like Liam Nisan for some reason, and he looked as though he was really peaceful. He told me quietly before passing through one of his deaths.

      'my greatest fear is... death...'

      ...

I remember being back at the front desk. I was looking at a hospital form in a plastic tray. All of the boxes were filled with gibberish. But I could still read them clearly, and they still had English characters in them.

I was saying to myself how this didn't feel like a normal lucid dream. It felt too clear, too stable and too realistic to be a dream. I felt as though I might be astral projecting or something.

I decided to run a test on the dream to see how well it behaved. I jumped into the air and pushed my energy down. My little fire jets switched on. I was flying. I had to stay in control though, not hit any people. But this was all the proof I needed. This was a lucid dream, just a very clear and vivid one.

Sadly I didn't seem motivated to carry out any of my goals or dares.

I remember feeling like the dream went on for ten minutes or more. But unfortunately I don't have the dream recall to back that up. I do know that It ended with a false awakening.

Another thing I remember questioning while in the dream was the fact that I was not the least bit scared of the clinic, even thought its sole purpose was to invoke fear. It didn't seem like an evil environment in any way. There were no screams of pain or blood splatters on the wall. It seemed so peaceful, like fear was a good thing.

I false awoke in my bedroom and my cat had given birth to five cats, identical kittens. The scene was being narrated like a nature show.

    7. Waterspout, Flying, and Dawn LD #139

by , 11-20-2014 at 01:38 PM (Lucid Time!)
At some point I tried to manifest Dawn. He looks nothing like DawnEye11 showed me in her picture; he has white hair but it is medium length and curly. He has on a white sweater and a brown vest, and thick glasses. He smiles at me and I lose the dream.

I am on a beach somewhere, standing on a dock. Out at sea there is this huge waterspout churning in the water. It is being created by some manifestation of evil or something, and supposedly it is going to to continually chase me and try to drown me, like those big waves that I always see in my dreams.
I nose pinched and became lucid. I decided I would rather than run, face the fear of drowning and go into the spout intentionally. I jumped off the end of the dock and ran across the surface of the water directly into the waterspout. As I got close, some lightning struck nearby, as if to warn me.
I looked closely at the spout itself, and how water seemed to be streaming both up and down it simultaneously, and it also seemed to be rotating. I recall it having a very textured look almost having 'spikes' on it.
I ran in and let myself lose my balance. I just let it do its thing and, knowing that I was dreaming, I could take it. I mostly tumbled around in what felt like mostly water and little bit of wind. It spun me up and up a long ways. I had my eyes closed at first, but slowly I opened them. I felt less and less water and it felt colder. I could see how the waterspout was sucking water off of the ocean and depositing it in a storm cloud. (I'm sure that's not meteorologically accurate.)
When I got to the top, I could see down through the eye of the spout all the way to the bottom. For some reason this part of the cloud had an invisible floor and I could walk around and view the spout from different angles from above. I could also see the island that I had started on, and the beach with the dock. It was quite a veiw.

For some reason I thought the dream had ended. I manifested a computer and went on dreamviews to type about the dream that I had.
      ...

I was sitting atop a sand dune (same beach) The waterspout was gone. I was simply looking around, trying to wrap my head around lucidity.
"Okay, so this is a dream... This is all in my head... I am actually asleep."
I feel a warm breeze blowing and think that it feels too real to be a dream. But eventually I figure that it has to be a dream. I run down the sand dune to the coast and decide to fly.
"This is all a dream. It's all in your head. You can do anything!"
I get a running start and jump. It's floaty, but I'm coming back down. I jump off again and make my rockets. And we're off. I start saying thing because I want to go faster; I want to fly up in the clouds.
      "Faster!"
I start to go a little faster.
      "Fast as you can go!"
I see a large tree ahead. I roll and pass between the branches.
I start to go quite a bit faster, maybe 15 or 20 miles per hour.
      "HYPERSONIC SPEED!!!"
I really get some speed. Maybe 40 or 50 miles per hour. I pull out over the water and start to go up. I want to fly through a cloud.
Then, my flying just cuts out. I find myself in my backyard. I get the dream ending feeling and all of my goals come crashing back to me. I quickly try to manifest Manei. Manei, Dawn and Eye all appear. This time they look like her picture, even down to the poses. I think that they were just cardboard cutouts that had been drawn on. Manei was real though. Then I wake up.

These late-night skype calls have to stop.

There was some long dream about there being a hotel near my house with a beach and a lighthouse on a lake. There were for some reason a bunch of really tall, skinny, pagoda like houses across. I couldn't help but think that they looked familiar, like I had seen them in another dream somewhere.

I dropped my computer in the hotel pool. Somehow it still worked when I got it out.

I was driving during an intense rainstorm. I can recall swerving to avoid an I-beam that was being washed across the road.
    9. First WILD?! (LD #128)

by , 10-30-2014 at 03:40 AM (Lucid Time!)
Kind of a funny story behind this one. I was very tired/bored today and at around 6:30 I got in bed and a few minutes later I was out cold. I slept for about three hours until my roommate came in with this random girl and woke me up.
Then the random girl left and my roomate got into bed as well, I went back to sleep and for the first time ever, I WILDed. And completely by accident.
I began seeing wispy images, that I was in the water. It was third-person at first, and I was dreaming more about the big waves crashing down on me trying to drown me. Got some good views of my dream-self though. Gonna draw him soon, along with Manei.
The waves were not as big as they have been in the past, but big nonetheless. I flew in and in the strangest feeling ever I gained control of my body. I was standing in knee-deep water and the big wave was coming down on me, about a foot higher than my head. I used Waterbending to split it, like I had done before. For some reason the Waterbending made like a box cut out of the wave.
I got out of the water and onto the beach. I was nowhere familiar. Just one of the billions of tropical/beach island locations that my dreams manifest. This island was small and had a comparitively very steep rocky mountain on it.
I realized how wispy the dream felt, like I could wake up at any moment. I began laying down some aggressive dream stabilization, shouting "I'm dreaming" and clapping and rubbing my hands together to get a better feel for the dream.
There was no way this dream was going to last for any considerable amount of time, but I should still enjoy it while it lasts. I began walking up the side of the island with the most gentle slope and somehow found myself in the parking lot of my high school, only the high school had been replaced with this huge ornate white building. It was mostly low-laying, but there was this massive clock tower that had to be at least 20 stories high. Quite an epic construction.
For some reason, I decide that I want to fly to the top of the clock tower. Jets on, I start hovering. For some reason, I find myself hovering just a few feet off the ground. I try to give myself more power to rise higher but it causes me to fly sideways and smash into somebody's car.
"No! I want to go up!"
I look back and the building looks completely different; now looking more like my actual high school. When I managed to get a good look from above, I saw that there was this huge wooden boardwalk on the back. It was going out over this lake that isn't there IWL. I wanted to go inside the building and see what I could find, but the main entrance had this huge line of DCs going out of it. There is no way I'm waiting in that. So the only logical thing to do was to try and land on the platform and go in the back door.
I for some reason, my flying cuts out on me at the absolute worst time; just as I am getting up and over the building. I am flying much faster than I usually do and then my jets just cut out.
I 'fly' on a trajectory over the building and land on the boardwalk structure. I then proceed to tumble and bounce across it several times, breaking the floorboards of the boardwalk before hitting the railing and breaking that too. This hitting this thing gives me a strange sensation, it's not really pain, but just more of hard impacts with the boards. (I suppose a tumble like this would kill most mortals though.) I try to focus in on the sensation and use it as dream stabilization.
I sit up, and look back at the path of damage along the boardwalk. A couple of dream characters look at me with looks of shock and confusion. I lose the dream and FA.

Something to do with my roommate installing a tiny urinal inside our dorm room. (About 6" by 10") There is this little step in the floor that hides the plumbing, and it is this little urinal. I have many a question for him; like how we're supposed to get any privacy and how we're supposed to pee in this tiny thing in the first place, and why we even need it. The dream dragged on for a few minutes before I woke up for real.

It is now 10:40 where I am. I'm gonna try and go back to bed and see if I can get another lucid. Glad I'm LDing again. Hopefully I can still catch some of my momentum from before. Having only half of my lucid barrier still standing probably helps.
    10. Frat 'Drugs' to Late Class to Alien Faces +Drawing of Marcus

by , 10-29-2014 at 05:42 PM (Lucid Time!)
This was a long dream, and I can't recall how all of these plot elements tied together. It started off with me going to some kind of frat party at my college. (Something I would NEVER do IWL, my introvert powers would make sure of that.)
I expected the party to be wild but for some reason, everyone is dressed up in fancy suits/coats and wearing those feathery eye masks. The party is mostly men, but there are a few women as well. The setting is fancy as well, the inside of the frat house is decorated in a sort of modern/oriental way. I recall the walls have this wood paneling and there is this beautifully carved bamboo furniture.
At some point or other, I was approached by some of the masked people. These were the leaders of the frat or something and they have masks that cover their entire faces. I think one of the guys is wearing Amon's mask from LOK. They are holding a silver tray and on it is a paper cup filled with this steaming yellow liquid.
They say that I must drink it... no reason why really... I just have to drink it or bad things will happen. I reluctantly pick up the cup, and hold it to my mouth. I can smell the fumes. The liquid has a nutty, oily aroma. (Oooh, I smelled something in a dream, that's a first.) I then cautiously take a sip and instantly feel very sleepy and pass out on the floor.
      ...
What followed were a couple of vague flashes of me trying to leave the college.
      ...
When I came to, I was driving my family's old van up to my house. I had the worst taste in my mouth and I knew it was from the yellow oil stuff I had drank earlier. I parked the van in the driveway and got out.
A police officer pulled up. He was a tall, muscular man with short black hair and a full beard/mustache, probably in his 30's. He told me in a kind voice that he wanted to talk to me about my driving skills.
I asked him if he could give me one moment. My voice was muffled and I felt like I was gagged. I felt my cheeks and I was, with my bandanna. It was tied very tightly around my head. After a minute or so of finagling with the knot, I was able to get it off, and then spit out some of that nasty oil that I had drank earlier. I felt very sleepy and unfocused. I wasn't drunk, but defiantly under the influence of something.
The officer said he wasn't going to write me a ticket, but what he had in store for me was much worse: a lecture on safety and driving. He started lecturing me about driving when I drink these substances, but I had some intense motivation for driving the van home in this half awake state and I was fighting to explain it to him. But I couldn't recall what the motivation was.
      ...
This somehow blended into a dream scene where I was home. I think this was the next day. The police officer had come in to have breakfast with us. I had been grounded from driving by my parents. In the dream, it was Friday, and I realized that I needed to get to my drawing class, but I couldn't drive myself.
For some reason it was my mom's friend who was supposed to be driving. She was having breakfast with us too. (We were all sitting in the kitchen and my mom was making waffles.)
I was a bit anxious to go, and the clock read something like 11:93. I thought that meant that it was broken and it was really 12:33.
So great... I've already missed half my class.
And, almost as if it were put in the dream just to annoy me, my mom's friend is eating the waffles in super slow motion. Eventually I just figured 'forget it' I'm going to miss my drawing studio class anyways, and just went up to my room.

I think this was a completely separate dream. This one was pretty vivid. I was visiting some beach area with Manei. We have parked far away and have to hike through the woods to get there. Supposedly we are investigating alien activity and other planets.
Okay, that is like every major dream sign that I have in the first paragraph.
I guess I was semi lucid though, so we're getting back on track... slowly.
We hiked through the woods until eventually we came to this sand dune. We climbed up it and all of the sudden we were out in the open.
I recall this scene very vividly. There was a huge, broad, sandy valley with a river running through it running into the sea out in front of us. To the left are some mountains. Down in the sandy valley, just to the right of the river is a massive grey alien head (looking to be about 40-50 feet across), face up, eyes open in the sand.
Manei gets all excited because this shows a connection to what is on Mars. She get out this futuristic Ipad device with a clear screen and shows me a picture, from pretty much the exact angle we are looking at. The topography looks very similar, though it is on the polar ice cap of mars. The valley looks the same and the alien head is in the same position and some orientation.
I think that the alien heads were like telepathic nodes or something, but I can't remember...

    11. Spaceship Crash-Somewhat Lousy Recall

by , 10-28-2014 at 12:11 PM (Lucid Time!)
Something shocked me into remembering many a more details about this dream.

Something to do with some comedy movie that was mocking character tropes and cliches.

I was exploring the outer reaches of A solar system with a large, highly advanced spacecraft.
If I can remember correctly it was a single star system and a subsystem of binary gas planets, a green one and a milky white one. The green one was much smaller. Each one had an inner system of moons in its own gravity and there was an outer system of moons orbiting the common center of mass that both gas planets created.
Eventually I found a moon with earth like conditions in a tight orbit around the green planet.
I entered the atmosphere and intended to land near the ocean at the north pole, but as we were coming in near the shore, there was some kind of malfunction and we were coming in way too fast. I think the ship had wings but they were malfunctioning and not generating any lift. Landing there was going to be impossible, there were all these black rock towers amid the sandy beach area. My only choice was to turn the ship completely around and use the main engines to push us the other way. Two of them struck a rock tower as we came in and the ship 'landed' on its rear end with two less engines than it started with.
      Oops.
Me and the others got out and saw how bad the damage was. Pretty bad. Two of the engines were completely gone, and the ship was pretty banged up from the impact. The hull entire hull had bent about 10 degrees, so we basically had no hope of every flying again.
We figured it was good that everyone had survived and that at least we were on a planet with earth like conditions. We made contact with 'base' and asked about rescue.
I began looking around at the different plant life on the planet. There were these fern-like plants with green and pruple pineapple like fruits on them. I asked one of the scientists if it was possible that we could use those as food; I didn't know if they were poisonous or not.
I recall this scene were everyone got out of the spacecraft. It was very strange because there were only like twelve of us and the spacecraft was huge.
The atmosphere became foggy and grey.
I should really draw the ship we were on. It looked really cool...

    12. Forgotten Flying (LD #126), The Connection to Nature (LD #127)

by , 10-24-2014 at 01:15 PM (Lucid Time!)
Fragment: Something to do with Jack Black. He is in this really bad comedy partially centered around lucid dreaming.

      Spoiler for slightly sexy:

I FA'd. I was at college and started walking to class. For some reason my dad showed up and he started talking about Ebola. I didn't want to hear it, so I had to change the subject. But the only thing I could think of was the porn dream. So I told him about it and he listened intently, as if he was enjoying it.
      ...
This somehow led to lucid flying above campus. I wish I remembered more than flying and hoping that my dream would know what the rooftops of the campus buildings looked like.

I woke up around 5:00am and wanted to 'go back'. This is happening more and more frequently.

I was having some dream where my roommate had been replaced by an old lady, and I had to take care of her because she had memory loss and forgot her pills and what not.
At least she was not grumpy.
Anyways, she has to take her pills every day, and today we have to go get refills for her. She also has to do her 'hearing' everyday that has something to do with her hearing aid and projecting a frequency that helps her to hear better.
But my favorite thing to do is help her with her fruit smoothie that she drinks twice a day. She gets her fruit through the government and gets this big basket of fresh fruit everyday, more than enough for her smoothies.
So I decided to be healthy and start drinking the smoothies with her. I have this juicer/smoothie maker in my room, and when you put the fruit in, a game comes up like fruit ninja. You have to slice the fruit for it to be added to your smoothie. I ended up getting a bunch of mangoes and kiwis in mine.
There was some aspect to it like the smoothie could be used as rocket fuel. I had this tiny prototype rocket engine attached to the bottom of my smoothie.
I somehow find myself at this exhibition where this native tribe is visiting from a far-away land and showing off rare herbs and spices. The lady that I am taking care of wants those added to her smoothie. I find this other lady (who was really just an older version of Manei, guess she wanted me taking her seriously in this dream.) She asks me to come over and do something.
She has a small garden with all of the herbs in it, but there is a pathway running diagonal through it. The garden is like a sandbox, about 3ft by 3ft, and the soil in it is kind of sandy.
Anyways, she tells me to look down, take two steps and then stop. I take two steps and walk nearly to the other side of the garden. She then somehow shifts me back to the opposite corner and asks me to take two more steps. I follow. This repeats two or three more times. I look up and we are now on a beach.
She changes to her original age and smiles at me. I do a nose pinch, but strangely, the airflow is 'glitching' on and off. I feel like it is starting and stopping very quickly.
      Nevertheless I become lucid.
Manei is sitting in the lotus position, and I recognize the beach we are on; the one from my first LD that we used to return to often. It is nighttime and the beach is moonlit.
"It's time you learned about nature. Everything in nature is connected, though it's hard to look and see the connections. Take this garden for example."
I look back at the remnants of the Herb garden from the transition. All of the plants are uprooted and ruined. I sit down in front of it. Somehow I decide that I want to make the plants regrow and repair themselves with my mind. I start to focus on the sand and a strong wind comes in blowing all of this dry sand over the plants. Then a bunch of new sprouts came up.
"Good, now move over there. You're going to use your energy to create a plant from scratch now. Visualize the sand grains as full of life, like each one is a seed."
For some reason I partially sink into the sand. I focus in on the ground in front of me and try to picture a plant growing. Nothing seems to be happening. I start to get disheartened. Just as I do, I see a bump in the sand and a little sprout comes out. I send my energy to it and it grows into a bushy fern-like plant.
"You see, this is what the Buddha was talking about. Everyone has a connection to nature!"

Er... I might not be the most up-to-date on Buddhist scriptures, but isn't he all about inner peace of mind and finding oneself and all that?
Regardless, she stops talking. I decide to test the 'connection to nature' aspect of this. And somehow, I get from my 'connection to nature' to 'Let's practice waterbending!'. I look out at the ocean, and the waves rolling into the coast. I hold out my hands in front of me, palms down and try to picture the waves stopping.
Slowly, all of the waves come to a stop and the ocean is a mirror surface. I see the moon and stars reflecting on it. So beautiful. I then release my grip and run into the water.
I begin moving with the flow of the waves, that come back small at first, and then big. I feel like I am waterbending, but this feels a little more... (oh for heaven's sake) natural. I try to move with the flow of the waves using them to increase my motions rather than fight them. I try to make one of the waves splash Manei and it works. She chases me into the water and tries bending back at me. We are about to get into an all out, for-fun waterbending fight (Because dream guides can have fun too, you know.) when she gets the "oh, sh*t" look and tells me to run.
I turn around, back out over the sea, and see a tsunami rolling in. Nope, nope! We don't run. I turn and face the wave as it swells into a white-cap and prepares to crash right on me. I hold up both my arms crossed and split the wave down either side. Both sides pass me harmlessly. This feels more like the original water bending, more forceful and less flow-ish. But it's all I can do at this point.
The gap in the wave continues to widen and Manei passes through the gap as well. I turn back to see her standing on the shore. The wave crashes on either side of her but doesn't dare go near her. I turn around and see another, larger tsunami rolling in. I realize this is becoming one of those 'drowning' dreams that I used to have as a kid. There's no sense in fighting it any longer.
I send a telepathic shout to Manei saying "Get the heck out of here, I'm gonna wake up." I look to the shore and she becomes blurry and fades away. I turn and face the wave, that is barreling in at impossible speeds. I start thinking that I should wake up, and manage to do so right before the wave hits me.

    13. Dogfight over New York, Lovers' Retreat, Real life FPS, Beach Tailgate with breif lucidity (LD#118)

by , 10-05-2014 at 02:36 PM (Lucid Time!)
New york is under attack by another nation, and I am assigned to pilot an experimental aircraft designed for combat in locations like cities where maneuvering and control are more valuable than speed. Their wings can vector the thrust from the engines in any directions, allowing us to fly between buildings.
I don't remember much of the dream, but I recall doing fairly well in the dogfight and taking a dozen or so enemy fighters before being shot down myself. I ejected and floated down into the city. I also recall the city itself. Most of the buildings were still standing with small craters and damage likely caused by the initial attack.

I am at college, and I recall meeting this girl who was just crazy about me. She loved me. This was kind of a bother, because I found her to be annoying and overly-hyper. She wasn't very attractive in my eyes either, but I had decided to give her a chance anyway. I don't really recall what she looked like though...
She took me to her home (that was somehow on the campus). There was a lavish duplex built on the shore of a beach. (Dream sign) Next to it was a pool and a hot tub. She also had a tennis court and a play-place. There were a couple of palm trees around, and the rest of the island was covered in small craggy hills, that looked like miniature mountains.
This whole dream was set during the nighttime, and it was dark. In a strange way, I felt like the island was indoors. I felt like we might be inside a giant skydome or something, like on The Truman Show. Anyways my new girlfriend wanted to go in the hot tub. I told her I had to go change, and went into the duplex where I had a suitcase. And because it was a dream, I kept putting on my bathing suit and have it turn into something that was not a bathing suit while it was on my legs. So I must have removed a pair of jeans or shorts or boxers five times until I put on an actual bathing suit.
Eventually I managed to put on a bathing suit and head out to the hot tub, but this girl was totally ADHD and by the time I got finished changing and got to the hot tub, there she wanted to play tennis. We started heading over to the tennis court (without changing of course) and I lost the dream.

I am having this dream about a real life first person shooter, or some kind of combat training. I can't recall what exactly it was, but I know that it was not a real war. But dirty fighting is still allowed. There are huge teams, I think 16 on 16.
I am geared up with all of this military gear, such as an assault rifle, pistol and some grenades.
Me and two other guys who were much less experienced than me were tasked with guarding this pathway that led out of the woods. Supposedly bad guys would undoubtedly come up this path and into our base. Sure enough, guys did start coming. We used some big trees at the end of the path for cover. We ducked and covered for awhile and managed to take them down.
Then one of the guys I was with started screaming because he saw the enemy commander. The enemy commander was this huge man, about 6'6" and very fat. He wore all black and carried two large SMGs. I told my teammates to give me cover and I ducked behind a fallen tree.
Now what I did next was a bit strange. I dropped my gun, my grenades, my sidearm (a pistol), my body armor, my backpack, and my army coat, leaving only my pants, boots and the sweatiest, grossest tank top I had ever seen. I then ran down the path, dodging the commander's bullets and kicked him as hard as I could in the groin. While he was distracted my teammates shot him.
      ...
There was this other part where everyone had stopped fighting. Apparently there was somebody else who had the same idea as me, this Chinese guy on the other team. He had thrown off all his gear and the two teams were now forcing us to have a MMA fight to determine who would win. We were fighting on a paved basketball court and both teams were watching us fight. I think the Chinese guy beat me, but he told me that I was still a good fighter.

I was having some dream that somehow tied back into all of the previous dreams. I was in a gorgeous beach-side town, riding a bike, trying to find my way back to a hotel that my family was checked into. Most of the town was fairly low, with just a few cottages, a small downtown and a lighthouse on the beach. But at one point, I rode down this path and found this huge parking lot with all of these tailgaters parked in it and partying. Beyond that was a massive city composed of these mid-rise buildings and following that were these massive angular glass skyscrapers.
For some reason, the thing I recall most about this moment was the sky. Okay, yeah there was a small second sun near the first, but the clouds looked gorgeous. I remember looking all around and seeing these amazing cloud formations. Layers upon layers of clouds.
I began riding my bike into the tailgate lot. I asked myself why it seemed so hard to make it back to the hotel, why does the town seem to keep changing.

Maybe it's because I'm dreaming. I do a nose pinch just to confirm. I'm dreaming. I decide to get off the bike. I tell myself that I will hop off and begin flying. I leap off to the side. I don't start flying. I just land on the ground.
I begin walking out toward the beach. I stomp my feet on the pavement trying to get a feel for the dream. I find that the feeling of stomping (and the 'shock') that runs up your leg makes for good dream stabilization. The clarity begins to increase. I rub my hands together and further the clarity.
I look around at the tailgate, but now it looks more like a school cafeteria setting, but outdoors. I think to myself about how all the dream characters in that setting are just aspects of my subconscious mind. I look out over the coast, and see the waves rolling in. My lucidity seems very clear, and I think to myself how I haven't felt this lucid in awhile.
I think to myself about what happened last night; the unsolved mysteries and unanswered questions. I begin heading toward the beach thinking that I can somehow use the sand to transport myself.
The dream clarity falls through very quickly and
I wake up. I try to WBTB, and nearly get it. I recall some hypnogogic imagery about a robotic claw moving these long, square cardboard boxes. I think the robotic claw was made out of cardboard as well. I recall some kind of designation number on the end of the box. I try to latch onto it and form a new dream. It doesn't seem to work. I give up, and just allow myself to wake up..
    14. LD #117: Distrust and Barriers

by , 10-04-2014 at 04:44 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am having some dream about being on a tropical island. I am supposed to be exploring, looking for the best sand dune (dream sign), for some reason, I think I was doing some kind of project for a travel agency where I was supposed to photograph a beach with a nice sand dune in the background.
There was a very weird part of the dream where It became nighttime was OOB and looking at myself. Bicolored eyes: check. My hair was weird in this one, it was stripey. Parts of it were a light brown and others black. Even though I was OOB, my body had a mind of its own, and said something like 'I look like a stripey cat!'
It became daytime once more, and at one point, I decide (with it being a hot, tropical day) that I should take a break from trying to find the best sand dune and go swimming. I get into the water. I see a family (including Manei) swimming in the water. At first, I assume they will just ignore me, but then, her mother comes over.

      "Puedes Habla Espanol?"
      "Ah... Un Poco."
The entire family begins swimming to shore.
She then repeats some question several times until after we have made it to shore. The dream translates to a feild, surrounded on all sides by trees.
      I become fully lucid.
Manei's mother is there, still asking me that weird question. I don't know what she's saying, but I know it's a question. I kept saying something like "No habla espanol, por favor" when she was clearly not speaking spanish anymore. I tried asking her to say whatever she was asking more slowly.
As we continued talking, the dream began to change from the beach to a clearing in the forest. The area felt vaguely familiar, but it looked unrecognizable.
Manei says something to her mother in the indecipherable language. Somehow, even though I didn't know the language, I knew what she was asking; for her mother to leave.
The two of us sit down and face one another. Oh, yeah and this is Manei we're talking about, the world's weirdest dream guide. So she changes her form into a very young version of me, like about five, and starts ripping up handfuls of grass and eating it. I try and think to remember what I wanted to ask her, worried that I wouldn't remember why I pushed for a lucid. But I remember easily.
"So I already know your name. What is my dream name?"
Her voice changes over. Hearing her voice out of the mouth of a five year old boy is hysterical. "It translates to 'Letting my friends go down alone.'"
Okay. Negativity. That voice isn't funny anymore.
Okay... I probably should have asked why my dream-name has such a negative translation, but I had another, more important question. I can't remember exactly how this part of the discussion was worded.
I reminded her of when I first started lucid dreaming, and told her about how my dreams back then seemed much less cloudy and confusing. Now they seem sort of glitchy and disjointed. I carried to to ask her about why I no longer dream about 'typical' situations such as appearing somewhere nude or being late to class that I used to get lucid in all the time.
"Well it's because me and the others don't trust you very much, and we don't want you coming here too often." (She shoves a big mouthful of grass into her mouth and smiles.)
She starts talking in that 'language of thought' to explain this sort of barrier thing that makes it harder and harder for people to lucid dream by making them more and more distracted in their dreams. Apparently this can go up in levels, and I was at level 12. Apparently the barrier serves a dual purpose for me, and is also used like 'weighted belt' training for lucid dreaming, but 'They' were using it to lock me out this whole time, constantly raising the bar so I would always be struggling to LD. She also eluded to the idea that one day, she would remove it and I suddenly be having these amazing lucid dreams.
"Wait... what? I've been with you for three years and you don't trust me? And you and some others are stopping me from getting lucid because of it?"
I talk continue to her with thoughts: You've done nothing but trust me for three years. When did I ever indicate that I couldn't be trusted? What does this even have to do with anything? Who's 'We'? Why is my dream-name so negative?
"You gotta help me get lucid again (more easily) so we can sort all this out. Deal?"
She glitches back to her original form, and looks at me reluctantly. The dream is fading now. Before it fades, I say in thought: How am I supposed to fix this if you hinder my very presence? She goes in to shake my hand and the dream fades out.

    15. Glitchy Dream House Tour (LD #115)

by , 09-18-2014 at 01:01 PM (Lucid Time!)
This dream was long, not very vivid, and pretty glitchy, but stuck to the higher levels of lucidity for me.

Anyways, I recall being on a small tropical island. There is a large mountain made of a tan-colored rock in the middle and a wavy coastline of coves and peninsulas circling the island. There are a large number of palm trees, of course. The sky is clear and the sun is coming down on us, but the sky had this kind of yucky yellow tint.
I am sitting on the beach, talking with Manei about many different things. I can't recall most of them, but I remember (and this is very strange) one of us was talking about programming an MMORPG game, something like World of Warcraft, and we were talking about the creatures that you could mount on in the game. The only mount was this huge eagle, like the ones from LOTR.
But the creature has customization. You can change different aspects of it such as the wings and the head to make it look more like a dragon or another creature, but no matter what you do the graphic model is the same and the mount always looks like a bird.
I can recall this one option for the creature that makes the wings look distressed. Some of the bird's feathers will be missing. This is supposed to be a very rare option to unlock.
At this point, one of the large bird creatures comes down and lands on a large rock on the island. It has the distressed wings and looks like some kind of zombie or demon because of the other options that have been picked.
      ...

I tell Manei I want to explore the island. It seems rather small. So I start flying, but hover no more than a foot or two across the ground, and float along the beach attempting to circle the island.
      ...
The dream glitched and I recall telling her that I was leaving to explore the island, and actually leaving twice. The second time I nearly circled the entire island. I recall there being another, smaller island offshore that I wanted to go to.

I also recall looking in the water. There were thousands of these smooth brown round stones just out past the shore. Each one was about two inches across. They all looked the same. For some reason, I thought that they were actually eggs of some kind.
I also recall there were huge wooden chairs on the island. They looked like sculptures that somebody had built out of fallen trees and bamboo found on the island, and tied together with vines and grasses. Some of them were overgrown by other plant life and collapsed, or had sunk into the beach due to erosion.
      ...

Just as I was going back to ask Manei about the giant chairs and what they meant a huge dream glitch occurred. I was now in a completely different location.
There was a huge home made out of dark red bricks in front of me. The front end of the home was built into the top of a steep hillside. Manei followed me through to the new dream.
Marcus was there. (Hey, long time no see...) and he seemed thrilled to see me. He told me that this was his latest work. It was a dream house for me and all of my dream characters to live in. He told me that he has a tour all planned out and wants to show me everything the house has to offer.
So we follow him in. The front room goes through two floors and doesn't seem to be decorated at all. It also feels like the front room of my grandparent's house. Marcus states that he isn't quite done building the house and the interior still needs some work. He then states that the house has (between 4 and 8, cannot recall now. I think it was 4 at the time, but was supposed to be 8 in the future) robot butlers. One of them is in the front room and it looks as though he is getting ready to paint it. There are a couple of human workers in here too.
He then shows me the kitchen. It is huge, with a walk-in pantry and refrigerator. It feels like my friend K's kitchen. He says that there are three floors above this and five floors below this. (it was a huge house.)

Marcus then took us downstairs. There was a huge three-story deep room here. There were two levels of walkways circling around a huge multilevel courtyard. On each of the three levels there are ten doors. He states that this area allows room for thirty people to each have their own private bedroom and bathroom.
I ask him if perhaps this is a bit much, given I only have three two recurring dream characters and they are both right here. Perhaps a more modest dwelling would suit us better. He doesn't really respond.
We actually get into a bit of a scuffle here. I tell him that having such a huge house is wasteful. He tells me that this is just a dream and there is no such thing as wasteful. Well I suppose the only way it could be more wasteful is if we didn't live in the space.
I see where there must have been an error with construction. There is a place where the walkway doesn't connect and some of the bedroom doors open out over nothing. I use dream control to construct the part of the walkway. Marcus thanks me.
We continue downwards. There is a saltwater pool down here, and the room lets out onto the lower side of the hill where outside there is another pool. There are two hot tubs, one outside and one inside. There is also a sauna. The entire room is covered in tiles save for one corner, where a robot butler is hard at work tiling the wall. This one is actually wearing a butler's clothes and I think that it looks funny.
Marcus tells me that the bottom most floor is where the laundry room is, along with most of the utilities, and that the robot butlers work down there.
Then I see that my parents are swimming in the pool there. I 'remember' that they are visiting to see where I am living. My dad gets out of the water and stands next to me. He starts giving me this big grumpy lecture about living on my own and being responsible. I just ignore him, because I really didn't get enough of that in WL.
      ...

Yet another dream glitch. We are back at the front of the house. I notice three very sporty looking cars parked in the drive. One of them has large wheels, no top and is black. Another is a large white hummer limo. And the last one is a sports car that was either orange or yellow.
There were a couple other massive houses nearby, some even dwarfing mine. I recall one made out of tan bricks next door. I recall there is a stepped waterfall running between the two houses that leads into the outdoor swimming pool on the low side of the hill.
      ...
The rest of the tour happens very fast. I almost feel as though the information is being 'downloaded' into my memory. I see flashes and am bombarded with loads of information before waking up.
      Basically:
