    1. LD #155: More moons, Dreamspeak, and annoying parents

by , 01-09-2015 at 02:27 PM (Lucid Time!)
Kind of a lame lucid dream, but I had it.

Something to do with Lego People in Minecraft or Minecraft people in a Lego world or something like that.

I was in the family van with my mom and dad. They were driving over these steep sandy hills preforming jumps.
This was the first sign that I was dreaming; I began to question how the family van, being almost as old as I am was able to handle 20-foot jumps and landing on its nose with no sign of damage or distress.

At one point we drove through a barn. I got worried not only that this might be reckless and damage our van, but that an angry owner might show up.

At one point we stopped because my dad had to check the engine. I preformed a nose pinch. I could breathe fine.
Dreaming. I looked up at the sky and saw five moons in the daytime sky. One of them was huge, obviously. I looked away and looked back and saw that the moons had somehow become conjoined together.

      "Uhhh... that doesn't' look right."

"What are you talking about? It's just the moons sticking together. That's what all the craters on the big one are for, so all the little ones can fit nicely in the basins."

It was my mom. I told her that this was a lucid dream that I was going to leave her and go fly. I started climbing up one of the sandy hills. She started begging me to show her how to lucid dream like I do, thinking that it was really cool. At first, I told her no, but after she asked three or four times, I gave in.

I decided to teach her one of the first things that I had ever learned in lucid dreaming; how to run at high speeds. We found a black asphalt path. I explained to her that part of it is preforming the correct physical motion and part of it is having the correct mental state, knowing that your dream control has to work.

She took off running. I tried to go after her, but she didn't look back to see that my high-speed running had actually failed. But I still went after her for a minute. This led me through the woods, over a wooden bridge and to a small gas station/cafe place deep in the woods. There was a small lot with some strange cars in it nearby.

To be honest, I find that my parents, in lucid dreams make for pretty annoying DCs. In hindsight, I probably should have made an effort to get rid of her or distract her. She asked me why my running hadn't worked. I told her that I didn't know, but if we went into that gas station, we might be able to cheat the dream into giving us what we want.

I started to walk in, I pushed the door open and tightly squeezed the metal handle with my hand, picking up some dream stabilization. "A good friend of mine works here, I think she'll be able to help us." Luckily at this point was actually the last of my mom that I saw in the dream.

I came in. It was a small convince store that sold candy, chips and the likes. I saw a menu above the counter and apparently they sold a variety of common hot foods. (Pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.) There were a couple of dream characters waiting in line. I just cut in front of them and they didn't care.

The person at the check-out counter was a short black lady with straight hair. I think she had the face of one of my old gym teachers from middle school. (Man parents and middle school teachers, this whole dream is just a host of awkward and uncomfortable dream characters.) She also had a bionic arm on one side. I kept looking at it, though she didn't seem to appreciate that. (She didn't seem particularly cheerful to begin with.) It kept changing sides.

"Are you going to buy anything or just stare?"

"No, I'm not hungry. Is Manei off her shift yet?"

      "Yeah, I'll let you in."

Success. Manei was in the back room. She had on one of those really heavy native American ponchos for some reason. She was talking with this really short black boy who I assumed was the woman's son, and this fat girl with brown hair. I said hello and she said goodbye to her friends.

"What I tell you? No meet me in gear room! Meet me in bedroom! I tell you ten times! Now I cannot *do something* for ten days. Why you no listen?"

I open my mouth to talk.

"Come, we talk downstairs, in private."

She takes me back out front of the store and to the women's bathroom. I look in and there is a toilet filled with poo. (And I mean filled, like a mountain of poo.) There was also a lot of pee and *ahem* other liquids on the floor.

She closed the door and then opened it agian to reveal a flight of stairs with a bed at the bottom. She asked that the both of us jump at the count of three and land on the bed. We do it. Completely pointless but we do it.

"Now, Atakonk yatoo tahuatok bararr satago izquen lavis al Ukatok. Urtem kaso aleey" (Something or other.)

"Manei, I don't understand your dreamspeak all that well, remember?"

"I know, but I want you to listen- I want you to listen- I want you to Lis-Lis-Lis-Listen."

"Katago Lalataktaktak. Katago Lalataktaktak. Katago Lalataktaktak. Katago Lalataktaktaktaktaktaktak..."

Manei.exe has stopped working. Would you like to close the dream or check online for a solution?

The dream faded to black slowly around here. I tried to squeeze the pillows and blankets on the bed we were in to hang on, but I guess that's no different than squeezing the pillows and blankets in your waking life bed.
    2. Waterspout, Flying, and Dawn LD #139

by , 11-20-2014 at 01:38 PM (Lucid Time!)
At some point I tried to manifest Dawn. He looks nothing like DawnEye11 showed me in her picture; he has white hair but it is medium length and curly. He has on a white sweater and a brown vest, and thick glasses. He smiles at me and I lose the dream.

I am on a beach somewhere, standing on a dock. Out at sea there is this huge waterspout churning in the water. It is being created by some manifestation of evil or something, and supposedly it is going to to continually chase me and try to drown me, like those big waves that I always see in my dreams.
I nose pinched and became lucid. I decided I would rather than run, face the fear of drowning and go into the spout intentionally. I jumped off the end of the dock and ran across the surface of the water directly into the waterspout. As I got close, some lightning struck nearby, as if to warn me.
I looked closely at the spout itself, and how water seemed to be streaming both up and down it simultaneously, and it also seemed to be rotating. I recall it having a very textured look almost having 'spikes' on it.
I ran in and let myself lose my balance. I just let it do its thing and, knowing that I was dreaming, I could take it. I mostly tumbled around in what felt like mostly water and little bit of wind. It spun me up and up a long ways. I had my eyes closed at first, but slowly I opened them. I felt less and less water and it felt colder. I could see how the waterspout was sucking water off of the ocean and depositing it in a storm cloud. (I'm sure that's not meteorologically accurate.)
When I got to the top, I could see down through the eye of the spout all the way to the bottom. For some reason this part of the cloud had an invisible floor and I could walk around and view the spout from different angles from above. I could also see the island that I had started on, and the beach with the dock. It was quite a veiw.

For some reason I thought the dream had ended. I manifested a computer and went on dreamviews to type about the dream that I had.
      ...

I was sitting atop a sand dune (same beach) The waterspout was gone. I was simply looking around, trying to wrap my head around lucidity.
"Okay, so this is a dream... This is all in my head... I am actually asleep."
I feel a warm breeze blowing and think that it feels too real to be a dream. But eventually I figure that it has to be a dream. I run down the sand dune to the coast and decide to fly.
"This is all a dream. It's all in your head. You can do anything!"
I get a running start and jump. It's floaty, but I'm coming back down. I jump off again and make my rockets. And we're off. I start saying thing because I want to go faster; I want to fly up in the clouds.
      "Faster!"
I start to go a little faster.
      "Fast as you can go!"
I see a large tree ahead. I roll and pass between the branches.
I start to go quite a bit faster, maybe 15 or 20 miles per hour.
      "HYPERSONIC SPEED!!!"
I really get some speed. Maybe 40 or 50 miles per hour. I pull out over the water and start to go up. I want to fly through a cloud.
Then, my flying just cuts out. I find myself in my backyard. I get the dream ending feeling and all of my goals come crashing back to me. I quickly try to manifest Manei. Manei, Dawn and Eye all appear. This time they look like her picture, even down to the poses. I think that they were just cardboard cutouts that had been drawn on. Manei was real though. Then I wake up.

    3. LD #117: Distrust and Barriers

by , 10-04-2014 at 04:44 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am having some dream about being on a tropical island. I am supposed to be exploring, looking for the best sand dune (dream sign), for some reason, I think I was doing some kind of project for a travel agency where I was supposed to photograph a beach with a nice sand dune in the background.
There was a very weird part of the dream where It became nighttime was OOB and looking at myself. Bicolored eyes: check. My hair was weird in this one, it was stripey. Parts of it were a light brown and others black. Even though I was OOB, my body had a mind of its own, and said something like 'I look like a stripey cat!'
It became daytime once more, and at one point, I decide (with it being a hot, tropical day) that I should take a break from trying to find the best sand dune and go swimming. I get into the water. I see a family (including Manei) swimming in the water. At first, I assume they will just ignore me, but then, her mother comes over.

      "Puedes Habla Espanol?"
      "Ah... Un Poco."
The entire family begins swimming to shore.
She then repeats some question several times until after we have made it to shore. The dream translates to a feild, surrounded on all sides by trees.
      I become fully lucid.
Manei's mother is there, still asking me that weird question. I don't know what she's saying, but I know it's a question. I kept saying something like "No habla espanol, por favor" when she was clearly not speaking spanish anymore. I tried asking her to say whatever she was asking more slowly.
As we continued talking, the dream began to change from the beach to a clearing in the forest. The area felt vaguely familiar, but it looked unrecognizable.
Manei says something to her mother in the indecipherable language. Somehow, even though I didn't know the language, I knew what she was asking; for her mother to leave.
The two of us sit down and face one another. Oh, yeah and this is Manei we're talking about, the world's weirdest dream guide. So she changes her form into a very young version of me, like about five, and starts ripping up handfuls of grass and eating it. I try and think to remember what I wanted to ask her, worried that I wouldn't remember why I pushed for a lucid. But I remember easily.
"So I already know your name. What is my dream name?"
Her voice changes over. Hearing her voice out of the mouth of a five year old boy is hysterical. "It translates to 'Letting my friends go down alone.'"
Okay. Negativity. That voice isn't funny anymore.
Okay... I probably should have asked why my dream-name has such a negative translation, but I had another, more important question. I can't remember exactly how this part of the discussion was worded.
I reminded her of when I first started lucid dreaming, and told her about how my dreams back then seemed much less cloudy and confusing. Now they seem sort of glitchy and disjointed. I carried to to ask her about why I no longer dream about 'typical' situations such as appearing somewhere nude or being late to class that I used to get lucid in all the time.
"Well it's because me and the others don't trust you very much, and we don't want you coming here too often." (She shoves a big mouthful of grass into her mouth and smiles.)
She starts talking in that 'language of thought' to explain this sort of barrier thing that makes it harder and harder for people to lucid dream by making them more and more distracted in their dreams. Apparently this can go up in levels, and I was at level 12. Apparently the barrier serves a dual purpose for me, and is also used like 'weighted belt' training for lucid dreaming, but 'They' were using it to lock me out this whole time, constantly raising the bar so I would always be struggling to LD. She also eluded to the idea that one day, she would remove it and I suddenly be having these amazing lucid dreams.
"Wait... what? I've been with you for three years and you don't trust me? And you and some others are stopping me from getting lucid because of it?"
I talk continue to her with thoughts: You've done nothing but trust me for three years. When did I ever indicate that I couldn't be trusted? What does this even have to do with anything? Who's 'We'? Why is my dream-name so negative?
"You gotta help me get lucid again (more easily) so we can sort all this out. Deal?"
She glitches back to her original form, and looks at me reluctantly. The dream is fading now. Before it fades, I say in thought: How am I supposed to fix this if you hinder my very presence? She goes in to shake my hand and the dream fades out.

Spoiler for Attempting to make sense of this (I fail):

    4. Epic Fantasy Battle.

by , 07-03-2014 at 02:17 AM (Lucid Time!)
Setup: There is some conqueror traveling across the land taking over land and calling it his own. He looks like Genghis Khan and rides around on some kind of reptilian horse creature. His army consists of:
-His sorcerer wife that can raise a skeleton army.
      -Roughly 20 human lieutenants.
-Roughly 100 large ogre-like creatures clad entirely in invincible armor that leaves only the face vulnerable.
We are the native tribe looking to defend our homeland. Everyone in the tribe has tan skin and dark hair. We have roughly 200 warriors, mostly armed with spears. We also have roughly a dozen 'leopard men' on chains. They look sort of like Tai Lung (The villain in the first Kung Fu Panda movie) if he were a bit more realistic looking. Now I am not the leader of the tribe, more like second in command, or some high ranking position close to the chief who wore a large headdress. Every warrior had two blue stripes painted under their eyes.
We are hiding in the woods on the edge of a farm field. The enemy army is marching perpendicular to us, through the field. The chief gives the signal and we release the leopard men and run in. We expected to catch them off guard, but the ogres didn't go down by our spears. (Well nobody hit the face) The ogres kill all of the leopard men in a matter of a few seconds, and knock out a few of our tribe members too.
And about 30 seconds after the chief gives the order to attack, we're all running the other way.
I run back into the woods. I get about 50 feet in and see an ogre positioned in the woods.
"Surrender! Drop your weapon!" The ogre has a deep thundering voice.
I had a bow. I was the master archer in the tribe. I drop it on the ground. The ogre steps on it, breaking it. He laughs briefly.
So me and the remaining tribe members had been taken prisoner. We waited around for some time, and we were forced to watch the conqueror's army ransack a civilian town. (Not the home of our tribe, which was supposedly in a secluded location.) He was merciless and tortured all of his prisoners, including children and the elderly. I don't really want to harp on this, but it was the WORST torture imaginable, not by a long shot, but it was pretty nasty.
Then the conqueror and the tribe chief meet. The chief gives one of those numbers about how the conqueror does not fight with honor. The conqueror gives and evil laugh and makes a deal with the chief. If they can defeat his skeleton army, then they are free to retreat to their home. That or he can just kill us all now. Given no better option, the chief decides to take the fight with the skeletons.
So the conqueror makes this setup. He puts us in a square field with a large hill in the center. He surrounds the edge of the field with his ogres disallowing anyone from escaping. Then the sorcerer comes out and throws blue fire on the ground. It burns away all of the grass in the field and skeleton warriors bust through the ground. Thousands of them. The conqueror orders them to attack.

At this point about half of the tribe turns and tries to escape. The ogres positioned on the end of the field kill about 80% of the escapees but a few manage to slip by. Okay, there is No way we are going to beat ALL of these skeletons, we're outnumbered probably 50 to 1, and that was before half of our guys tried to escape. Plus we're unarmed.
Then I got an idea. I charged at one of the skeletons, dodging the arrow he shoots as I get in close. And do an epic kick of doom to his face. He breaks down into bones and I pick up his quiver, but his bow is broken from my kick. I turn to another skeleton. He is about to fire at the chief who is fighting the conqueror. The conqueror has a katana-like sword with a magical green energy conduit going up the side. The chief has a rusty iron sword that he likely picked up from one of these skeletons.
The skeleton turns to me at the last second and fires. The arrow just glances the left side of my chest. I don't feel any pain from the wound, so I charge at him and kick him down anyway. I pick up his bow and pull the arrow out of my chest. I turn to the one of the ogres and line up a shot.

And then my dad shouts 'I'm going to work!' and wakes me up.

Fragment: I lived in Atlantis. My mom, who had left me when I was a baby had just returned. I was showing her new building around the city. For some reason, Atlantis has an art deco construction style, Kind of like New York used to be.

Fragment: I am partially lucid and climbing to the very top of a sand dune. It is covered in cacti and other exotic plantlife Sand dunes must be a new dream sign.
