I identify with her, a well . It was heart wrenching when Fauxlivia came back through, after Olivia confessed her true feelings, and took all the 'firsts' away from her.

Last night, I dreamed that Peter and Olivia had replacement identities. As a result, original peter fell in love with Olivia's replacement and vice versa. In the dream I was rooting for the true love of them both. I know, it was inspired by you!! Thanks!!

I've always felt an affinity with Olivia. She always seemed so serious, sad, and cautiously happy. The last time I watched Fringe it inspired such crazy dreams, I figured I'd give it another view.

I am a Fringe fan, too. When I was watching that show I often had awesome dreams. It really inspires the imagination. Sometimes, if I am having a dry spell, I will revisit the show.

Well they're must be something you were/or are depressed about, be strange if there weren't. Very poetic though ^^

Oh wow, these are some really cool dreams, especially the DreamViews pub one! Man, I'm so proud of my dream self for sticking up for you when this DC was so rude to you! I'll bet she wasn't even a real DV member anyway, acting like she did. DV members are usually way cooler than that.

Do you remember whether the dream that you were telling me about in the pub was the previous Constantine one?

I really love this idea of there being a DreamViews pub where we can all kick back, order some drinks, get a little meal, and just talk dreaming! I feel like I've read a dream with a similar theme before... or maybe had one myself...? It would've been a while back. I'm going to look!

Ha ha, wow, this is cool! I just found it! It was one of my dreams from July of 2013 and you were even in it! Here it is, as written in the "Dreams from last night in one sentence" thread:

So what'd you ever decide to do with that $200,000? I think we can all agree that the answer is "give absolutely none of it to the rude woman at the bar"!

Maybe I can use my few kind dcs as a catalyst. Sometimes they show me that things don't have to be so terrible.
I think that sounds like a great idea! Your mind is their home, so they're always there with you. I agree that these old friends could remind you how much light and beauty you can have in your dreams.

I'm sure you're right. I've just worked myself into a dark mental state and it's been very difficult finding my way back out.

      I sure hope so. @_@

A lot of my apocalypse type dreams begin with floods, I've never had them freeze on me before. So weird.

Oh dear D: that sounds pretty scary having that water coming after you, and in a trench, which would make escape purrrrrty difficult lol! Hopefully you did make it out of there, even if you don't remember!

I suppose he is? Liam's complicated. He isn't someone I know or have ever seen in WL. He's always been somewhere in my subconscious, going dark for long periods of time and then coming for a visit. I've had years where almost every dream had a Liam appearance.
When I was a kid he didn't have a name, and his appearance shifted depending on the dream but he always felt the same.
When I learned his name, I started writing a story based on a dream I had and from there it sort of snowballed. The dreams and story endlessly feed each other. The same with Saja, who I also mentioned. In many of my dreams I am her, and people have addressed me by name as Saja, more than they have my real name. Most of the time I'm playing a nameless character.

No sweat, a lucid's a lucid. I actually thought you were doing everything really well here with the way that you were insisting that there was light coming out of the electrical box tunnel!

And ha ha, windows are more fun than doors, don't blame you! There's something about the whole "phase through then fly" thing that's so much more fun than doing the same old boring stuff as in waking life.

I saw a lot of good technique in here! My only major piece of advice would be not to get discouraged! Sometimes the first one back after a while is mostly for getting you back into the swing of things.

Ohhhh my goodness. 920 minutes sounds like it has to be something out of a bad dream. Should just be something out of a bad dream! One of my partners later wound up telling me a tale of woe very similar to yours about expansion night!

I'm just always so tired, I rarely have dreams and even my lucids are nightmares, I can't seem to get a handle on it enough to change big things. The dream is still too heavy. All I get are the barest threads of lucidity. If I'm really lucky and I become lucid during a nightmare, then I can sidestep most of the crap my subconscious produces. More often than not I am aware enough to fully understand just how horrifying it actually is.
Maybe this changed. I certainly believe that it can! I know that some of your dreams are beautiful and pleasant, or at least they used to be.

What would happen if you went to bed with a strong intent to experience overwhelming beauty and joy in your dreamworld? Doesn't it seem like there's a good chance you'd find just that?

I just know that dreams are ruled by our emotions, desires, and expectations. Maybe if those take just the right shape before bedtime, you'll start gaining your dreams back.

      What do you think?

We all want to live up to our reputations, but nobody's going to fault you for backing away from a writing black sock full of flies with weird growths on the side.
*cracks up a little* I suppose not.

This segment with the sandstone tablet is striking. From the way you wrote it, it sounds like it's not based on anything, but it has this cool ring of authenticity to it.
Dude, I have no idea why but every time I read that little sentence "I know it is a folktale, about a man who travels through the desert and has to choose which he values more: the camel on which he rides, or the water strapped to his back." I get chills. It did feel true somehow. Like it was a long forgotten fable, that it was trying to teach me a lesson. Hell if I can tell what that lesson is supposed to be...

It's been a long time, but I think that I recall a scene with your father in Italy featuring in a lucid dream! Have I got that right?
You are correct. I tried to rescue one of my DCs from two people who were torturing him. I also used coffee like a strength potion and shoved the window out of a bus hehe.

There isn't usually a queue, it was release night for a new expansion. Unfortunately, every level 90 in WoW existence converged on the portal into the next zone and the world server kept crashing. There was so much lag and so many people that you couldn't SEE all the other people, they wouldn't load in. So they took down the servers and set a population cap that resulted in obnoxiously long queue times. On Friday when I tried to log in, my queue started at 5899. I started the queue at 5:40pm and waited so long that by the time I was under 500, I had to go to bed and that was at 12:30AM. They've fixed it now, but that was the real queue screen. Horrifying, isn't it? hehe The time on it wasn't definite, that damn thing kept fluctuating every few seconds, from 23 minutes to 920 minutes. o.O

As you know, dream emotions are so complex. There's so much conveyed in just a moment that it's hard to explain them. I felt confused and slightly wrong, and not so much that I had been fighting to wake up--but...eh, like lazily drifting to the surface of a pool to get air, just to slowly sink under with the surface so close. So realizing I still slept was still asleep was just disheartening. I wish I could see these occurrences as an opportunity to do whatever I wanted...I suppose I'm too much of a pessimist.

Do you feel like you have any mental associations with lucidity that are less than positive?

From where I'm laying I can see the computer screen clearly. Frustratingly my queue into WoW still reads 5055 in queue with a wait time of 641 minutes.
Okay, I'm like 5 lines in and already being educated about something. I had no idea that there was such a thing as a wait queue in WoW. (I enjoy video games and I'm even in the business myself, but I've still not done more with WoW beyond watch friends play over the shoulder.)

Was this part a false awakening or were you seeing real information on the screen? If I understand correctly... this would be how long you're waiting to just log in? 10 hours?

And what a crazy collection of false awakenings! I'm not sure this was all that fun for you, but it makes for a good read seeing the way that dreams naturally flow and chain together. The series was shot through with lucidity the whole way, too. It was interesting how it seemed to irritate you to realize that you were still dreaming. Do you know why you found it annoying in the moment to realize that you were dreaming? Do you feel like you have any mental associations with lucidity that are less than positive?

That is entirely backwards, by the way, I was always the one to kill bugs for her.

Hey Amurehna! Sorry that I missed your comment. And I appreciate your DJ entries, even when it takes me ages to see you comments.

That encounter was so different from anything I usually get. It is not usually a person gifting me with solace, but a sight or an action. Like, leaping into the sky and rising, rising, rising. Or witnessing a dream landscape so fantastic that it turns my mind away from the troubles of my waking life.
Moments like these are so nice to bring back from a lucid dream. Not only do they feel good (sometimes even for days afterward) but I find that they're an awesome help to my daytime work. I love riding that gentle swell of dream memory when I consider the world around me and reflect on whether it could all be a dream.

Very interesting in this case that instead of a dream experience, he gave you a distilled emotion and sense of comfort. Feeling is everything. It sounds beautiful!

I really appreciate your comments, Canis. =) Even if I don't always reply.

My subconscious likes to make the apocalypse as horrifying as it can and as you know that doesn't always mean that the world is annihilated with one strike.
