    1. Meeting Dale at Disney World, Flying a Huge Kite, and Getting Lost in the Hotel

      by , 09-12-2017 at 04:03 PM
08/06/2017 -- Can barely remember earlier bits of this, though they involve a game or app on my phone and driving back and forth between two retention pond areas on a freeway (probably I-4 near downtown) where the app guides me down onto small islands in the retention pond, followed by being on the grounds of a high school style track meet where I am dodging the racers and trying to avoid bullying jocks. But details are not clear, and things soon change.

Meeting Dale at Disney World. I am kind of tired and worn down. I'm not sure where I am staying, and I am not sure but I may have even missed his trip, though I hope not. He seems to be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge or something like that, and as I am trying to find his room, the numbers are doing their usual changing around, making things more difficult. But about that time, Dale calls out to me and leads me over to his rooms. It seems he has booked another large suite with several rooms, though there seem to be other people we don't know interspersed in some rooms in between the ones we're in. It's still a little odd.

So we're talking and visiting, and I find his mother is along on this trip as well, and getting ready for a final trip out to one of the parks or something with Dale. I;m too tired, and not up to going out, so he and his mother head out, mentioning on the way that Kevin is still in bed. So he's his usual under the weather, just sleeping and going o the bathroom, and I've got a headache and a lot of stress, and just hope KEvin will stay out of the way so I can take a nap. I wander into one of the overly air conditioned rooms, hoping to be able to find a spot in the sun to lay down on the floor and take a nap.

I find my spot in the sun, but for some reason there is no heat. Though we are several floors up, out our back door (one of those glass French doors) is a full meadow on our level (and how they do this for every floor is a puzzle lightly in the back of my mind even during the dream.) I still have a headache, and want to nap. I am also still feeling worried and confused, and am praying for guidance and closeness with the Lord, and having to fasten the door shut with one of those gate-style pieces of metal that you drop into a hole in the ground. The problem is that this doesn't provide a good seal, so the cool air is blowing in, while also meaning anyone who was walking along could open it again.

And of course, this is when Kevin walks in, loud and boisterous, when I just want to take a nap. I try to explain this, but he just can't stop talking, and after a few minutes I get up and stagger from the room, heading away from him and into one of the other rooms to try to get some sleep. But Dale and Betty are just making it back, and Dale is flying a large Chinese kite of some sort that was used in a recent (in the dream) Disney movie. This thing is like a silk banner, perhaps four feet wide and something like 20 feet long with a dragon screened onto it. He is pulling the thing along as it flaps in the breeze, while making puffing sorts of sound effects and humming a song from the movie that sounds vaguly like Toot, Whistle, Plunk, Boom. And in the process, his 'kite' is drifting over and covering one of the front desk people.

So I'm back outside the hotel, trying to find the room again (which is now on the second floor), and I know the room number I am looking for, but halfway down the hall the numbers change drastically, like I'm on another floor entirely or something. I have to turn around and head back down the hall, now looking on the other side, because obviously further down the way I was going is completely wrong. I find the rooms, but there are even more outsiders in between the two or three rooms of the suite that are ours, and I am worried about both where we are going (I am now homeless) and how long the airline flight is going to be (I'm worried about my blood pressure and flying), and even how much stuff I have in the hotel room and how much time it may take to pack it all up.

Next thing you know, someone is playing with a long (two segments, each about 6 to 8 feet long that are somehow fitted together) whip-like thing, it may be Kevin. Anyway, he drops the thing when he gets a slight CRACK out of it. I know that is what is supposed to happen, so I grab the thing and start swigning it, but I don't really know how to use one, so first I knock over a small vase or something. Then there is a huge (but friendly) creature that wanders around the place that is a cross between a large gorilla and one of the slow moving dungeon monsters from Runescape that you can ignore in the dungeons because they don't attack or anything, and I catch it with the whip, though I manage to not hurt it in the process. This is good, because even with a placid nature, if I'd hurt it, it could have really hurt me back, quite easily. Then with another swing, I manage to knock a huge, but fragile statue of the same beast off it's pedestal, and I finally realize I am dangerous with the darn whip, and unscrew the two parts and give them to Kevin to pack up.

So I am now gathering my stuff together, and just wandering around, and come across a small young lady who quite reminds me of Allison from the Adventurers Club, and she makes some kind of comment that seems to be an AC pucnh-line, as well, which has me trying to respoind in kind, just to try and figure out if she is from there, and if I know her ... because whereever we are now, we seem to be some distance from Florida. Anyway, she turns out not to be from the AC, but still is some kind of actor, and for some pleasant reason wants to be my friend, so by the end of the dream, I'm walking with her and smiling.
    2. Three in a Night: Water Parks, Computer Games, and Lumbridge Rebuildathon

      by , 11-13-2013 at 07:48 PM
11-09-2013 -- [This one ties in with a dream from a few months ago that I am referring to as the Downtown Orlando Spy and Gun Event, which I know I dreamed, and wrote down, but I guess I never got posted because I can't find it anywhere. Hopefully that dream will also be online at some point. Meanwhile, this was the first dream of the night, and only barely remembered, so we'll see how much of it I can pull out of my mind now.]

I think this starts out as a typical being chased around a hotel by thugs or management dream, with a hint of Dale vacationing in Florida, as well. Think it goes on for a while, but not in any sort of detail that I can describe. Then it switches to where I find myself in a water park that is a sort of cross between the one just outside the entrance to the Magic Kingdom in more than one of my dreams, and the one that I sort of find after I make it back through the building in the gun and spy dream mentioned above. I am climbing up hillsides, then sliding down long, enjoyable water slides a few times, before I realize I have to go and pack or something.

It turns out we are staying in an odd Disney hotel complex where the hotels are kind of connected by water slides as one of the ways to get around. Somehow I have ended up passing through one of the hotels on the way back to the one where Dale and I are staying, and in the process, I have kind of half-stolen a couple of water bottles, and am hiding them in my pockets, like the gun in the previous dream. Am trying to to be seen with them, and not to be searched, and am kind of ducking into a sort of side canyon that reminds me of where you can pick the tail-feather off of the fire phoenix in Runescape, and am hoping to avoid problems. Meanwhile, I also find myself right at the mall entrance to May Company at some point, which just doesn't seem to fit in anywhere.

Anyway, it was a cool dream, and long and detailed, but I can't remember anything, so I guess it will have to go down as a fragment.

11-09-2013 -- We are is a sort of a courtyard which seems at times to be somewhere new, and at times to be the Church of the Nazarene parking lot area in Buena Park, or right by Carolyn's house in Orlando. There is a creature or force here that is kind of making us do things, though it isn't anything that we can actually see. One of the things I am being pushed to do is to build a tall block wall, which kind of makes me think of the Lumbridge rebuildathon. Anyway, whatever this thing is, it watches us and kind of spies on us (eventually with cameras) but the wall that it is making me build is at the edge of it's view or range, so it can barely see me, and I can take it slightly easier, and am considering climbing over the fence and going away.

I continue working on the wall, and at some point dad and some others are also here working on it. I find myself worrying about bills and wondering how to pay them while I am unemployed, and thinking that dad might give me some money to help out, but I don't really want to go that route. It's a bit of a quandary. I think there is a small bit about helping dad retrieve a bill that was dropped in some sort of underground sprinkler system or something, but it was a really brief bit. Somehow dad is soon taking me out for a McDonald's-style sundae at a fast food restaurant while Carolyn is calling me on my cell phone and trying to arrange to meet me to give me something.

I explain where I am, which is either across the street from the new wall at the church, or perhaps across the street from her house (with even hints of BAMs house), and she says she'll be there in a minute, but she never shows. I meant across the street from PCUMC, but I find myself wondering if she might have thought I meant her church, and may have gone there. She was on a lunch break from the school, so she may not have had much time. Meanwhile, I am now outside the wall, sitting in the street, eating my ice cream, but still worrying and wondering about whether the camera on the building can still see me.

Somehow things shift to finding myself entering a kind of battered class room and preparing to take a seat. There is a cute kitten that will approach me, which surprises me, because it won't let anybody else near it, since one of the students went kind of wild and started attacking the various animals. There is also a wild monkey here, and several other animals. The student who went kind of wild seems to be Riley from BtVS season 4. There is also a kind of pushy, weird version of Xander who seems to be trying to keep and hide either gems, or perhaps fruit in a box of candy. Xander wants it, and wants to keep it away from us, but it isn't his. Meanwhile, I seem to be pouring a sort of peanut butter drink into a tall, narrow bottle. Very strange.

11-09-2013 -- Starts on a sort of jungle island, where there are a few snakes slithering around, but not as many (and not as dangerous) as the usual dream. These are kind of calm and peaceful. This seems to be a sort of live action computer game cross between Risk and Pirates, and has tie-ins to many of my other dreams. We are kind of moving from the east to the west in a large chain of islands in the ocean. One island is two half circles connected by a small land bridge something like this (|=|) and even though we are approaching from the east, we land on the west side and make our way across the island and the land bridge to the east side. Reminds me of one of the islands in Warlords:Battlecry 2.

We continue further west and come to a long, slim sand covered island where we spend some time, and find that we're having some car problems. Somehow we are driving cars through the water between these various islands, and we have some issues. We're pirates, and we have to have kind of old vehicles, but one of the cars is a very new yellow sports car which just doesn't fit right. Another is a pick-up truck, which works well enough. The third is an old, beat up car that fits well enough. Problem is, it is seriously breaking down, and while we don't need to use all three vehicles, we certainly need two. The one car is really beyond fixing, but they are arguing about the sports car.

Finally I put on a sort of pirate t-shirt, and decide that shows I am a pirate enough, and just grab the sports car and start to drive it off, people diving for it to try and get in, or maybe stop me. Somebody flags me down and explains we have been invited to eat before we continue on, and they are leading us to a large buffet-style dining room with many lines that reminds me of the cafeteria at the Indiana Wesleyan University at the FCM conventions. Somehow I am a little leery, and refuse to eat immediately, though I do go through the line. The food is incredible, with some fabulous looking steaks, thick and juicy and cooked to perfection. There is also lots of other great food. Problem is, now there is a long line of people waiting, and since I didn't take food when I had the chance, I either have to stand in the line, or wait. So I take a seat outside and wait for the line to shorten again.

Eventually it is really short, and I go back in, but now almost all the food is gone. I am still able to fill a plate, but there are no steaks, none of the great food, just sides and stuff like mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. The best thing still available is a fairly bland pulled pork mix. I am hunting around the various tables looking for a clean plate, clean plasticware, and a clean plastic cup to get milk in, and wishing I'd served myself the first time through. Idiot!
    3. Variations on the Death of Sanity

      by , 09-26-2013 at 12:57 PM
09-26-2013 -- [Very long, detailed, funny dream, that like usual, I can not remember well enough to really do justice to it. I literally woke chuckling to all the insanity I'd just been through.] I am at a hotel or something, almost certainly at or near Walt Disney World, and I am with Dale. He's on the last full day of his vacation, and is stressing out about going home the next day. He's worried about packing everything and getting the rental car returned and all.

So I am walking him through it all step-by-step, and telling him it will all go smoothly and be easy to get everything done, and he is starting to calm down. Meanwhile, we seem to be eating in a little restaurant or cafeteria that seems more like it is in a school than a hotel (hints of FCM at IWU), and Dale is mentioning how he ended up writing some sort of sarcastic bit for a small humor newsletter, but what was supposed to be one little bit has grown into three, and he's handed them to me to read, and as I am doing so (and nothing ever reads well in dreams) the publication is growing from a Teens Today-size 11x17 folded-into-four-page handout to a Hornet-sized newspaper to a multi-page, multi-section full-size newspaper like the Orange County Register, which I am having trouble folding to carry under my arm.

Meanwhile, Dale has just taken out his trombone and has walked into the back of a classroom and sat down with his instrument as a very no-nonsense teacher and a bunch of students start to walk into the room. It seems Dale is sitting in on a rehearsal. The teacher is very tough and demanding, but all Dale ever receives from him is the occasional brief nod, so he must be a very good musician. [In real life I am almost certain Dale doesn't play anything.]

As the teacher starts and continues to lead the group, I am very surprised to notice all the brass players are segregated behind a 'sound-proof' barrier that can't block the sound entirely, but lessens it, so the teacher isn't having to constantly warn the brass not to blare, and urge the woodwinds and strings to be louder, to be heard, and I am thinking to myself what a brilliant idea it is, and wishing we had it back when I was in band. But Dale is not behind it, so I guess the trombone is a woodwind in this dream.

Anyway, they play for a bit, and then they seem to take a little break, and while the professor is giving his students small bits of individual instruction, I am making a few comments (about the vacation, not the music) to Dale, and though I am afraid the music teacher will snap at me, he doesn't. The teacher is a sort of a mixture between Mr. Eubanks (one of my teachers, though not a band teacher), Pat Moran, and Lisa Simpson's music teacher.

Soon the whole class is moving, and it seems like we move about a corridor over. It is like we are moving from a practice room to a performance hall, and starting to prepare for an actual concert or something. But there are more and more people walking in and getting involved, and lots of 'guest stars,' both from TV and from my past. Tony Shalhoub seems to be puttering around, and Ron Howard seems to be playing an instrument, and wondering how things are going to play out, but they are both very young. (Ron is Happy Days age, and Tony resembles his character in Galaxy Quest.)

There is a young lady who is top of her class, and very proper, but kind of stuck up (a sort of cross between Sharon Newkirk's brilliance and Cordelia Chase's attitude) who is supposed to be one of the star performers, but she has managed to do something to anger the professor, and he just points her to an out-of-the-way corner and orders her to sit down and shut up, which has her pouting and angry.

Meanwhile, there is a very flashy and flamboyant piano player, a kind of a cross between Liberace and Elton John, very forward, demanding, and visual, who is just passing through, but sees a piano, and can't help but sit down and start to play, and the professor tolerates it, but makes it plain he expects him to behave, and amazingly enough, manages enough presence that the flamboyant player meekly agrees.

So they are all starting to tune up and prepare, and Dale is still hanging in the background, out of the way, but ready to play. Since he is not one of the students, he doesn't want to put himself forward at all, but he is still going to sit in and play along. Meanwhile, Shawn Spencer is also here, and is his usual insane self, and is coming up with all sorts of ideas on how to make the concert or opera or whatever it is supposed to be, and somehow the strict, demanding, controlling professor finds almost all of his insane ideas to be interesting, and is largely giving him free reign, and thereby allowing chaos to spread incredibly.

So the people are wandering in and out, music is played, Shawn is rewriting both the show and bits of music on the fly (at one point he walks by the piano player, throws in a hand, and adds a small riff mid-song before walking off) and though I expect both the flamboyant pianist and the controlling director to be furious, they seem much more bemused, almost sort of "Yes, that does work nicely."

The girl is complaining that she isn't being allowed to do anything, and it's just not right! Ron Howard is having fun, but confused as can be about what is happening, and Shawn is getting more and more wild in his ideas, which doesn't bother the controlling professor at all, though it certainly ought to! Things are getting more and more surreal, and the audience is just laughing hysterically and taking it all in. It is chaos ... brilliantly orchestrated chaos!

Finally things end and we all start filing out. I want to tell the professor how much I liked the concert, and also I still want to comment on that brass behind the barrier thing, but there is no way to get near him at the moment, and the press of the crowd more or less forces me into the practice room that we'd visited earlier. It seems that other students, not part of the group performing, but inspired by the concert's madness, have run rampant in here, and trashed the place.

The college staff have been working at cleaning the place up, and are somehow deciding to blame me for all this, but I am not having any part of it. I tell them they want the prestige of having this big name person in charge, and to keep him from walking off in a huff they give him complete and absolute control ... if he goes mad and his students destroy the place, the blame is completely theirs. They can't blame it on a random passing stranger! They don't like hearing this, and are swarming at me, trying to pull me down, but all they manage to do is to pull down all the materials blocking the door, and create an exit for me. I climb out of the room, and back into the main hall, where I find the crowds thinning.

I run into Dale, who I haven't seen in a while, and he is now late for his plane, but he feels the concert was well-worth it, and he isn't worried about it anymore. I start helping him grab all his luggage, and am sort of shrinking it to a small size, and causing it to all float around us (ala Harry Potter) while Kevin is complaining about everything, and saying he doesn't know what is going on.

We hurry toward the car, but as the crowds continue to thin, I practically run right in to the professor, and decide I have to speak to him for a moment. But now he is tired, and winding down, and has been talking to people for quite a while, and may be starting to second guess himself a little, and he seems really iffy about talking to me.

I tell him something like "That was crazy, and insane, and hilarious, and absolutely brilliant, but I have to tell you two things. The first is a quote from one of the Superman movies: 'You can't ...' I mean, 'You don't ...' 'If you think you can ....' Never mind. It's not important." Now he is starting to smirk, and seems to be getting to be in a better mood.

"The second thing is this. I used to be a music student ... never again!" I insist, worried that he'll think I want to ask him for lessons or something. Then I start to mention the constant warnings to the brass not to blare, and everybody else to be louder, but after the first couple of words, he is repeating back what I am saying, just a split second after me, then saying it with me, then saying is just an instant before me, like that odd monster out of the Doctor Who episode Midnight. Before I can get too frightened and freak too much, he breaks it off to make a comment about how the strange thing is, they don't have that segregated bit here in the performance hall, only in the practice room.

About this point, I woke up chuckling to myself about the madness of the dream.
    4. School, Dale, and the Political Convention (minor lucid)

      by , 08-29-2013 at 08:01 PM
08-29-2013 -- [Short dream with not too much to it, that turned out to be quite detailed and long.] Something about cats, other animals, and possibly digging holes in the back yard at the Hickory house. Something else about BC being around. Then I find myself in a classroom setting. It feels very like a high school class, though the teacher is Julie Davey. No idea what the subject is. I've just finished a test of some sort, and it seemed somewhat quick and simple. I seem to be spending the time afterward brainstorming some fiction writing or something, perhaps a Victor story, when Julie comes by for my test, surprised I am done so quickly.

I explain I think I did quite well, and she agrees, knowing how I always seem to test pretty well, and I start rummaging through my things until I come across the newspaper clipping we were supposed to be reviewing after the test. Glancing at the picture, wondering what it is about, I see almost a full-size model of a rocket, made out of huge balloons, and am thinking how I've made a similar ship out of a 160 and a bee body many times.

Julie looks at the clock, and it is just a couple of minutes before 5:30, so she tells us to start gathering our things, and get back to a more usual seating arrangement than the random groupings we'd been in. I end up sitting next to a cute blonde, waiting for the last couple of minutes to end, and we somehow seem to be talking about how about half the class had left at 1:30. Perhaps it was an optional class or something.

Class is soon over, and I find myself approaching Dale's house. I almost seem to be floating over the Nabisco plant to reach his driveway. (Considering later in the dream I am lucid and do some flying, perhaps I was flying here, as well.) I am driving a car, but as I approach their driveway, I remember something about them repaving it, and I walk up carrying my motorcycle, trying to get it on the strip of grass next to the paved driveway, where all their cars are parked, right now. (In real life, that strip of grass is at most a foot and a half wide.)

I find myself passing three animals that seem to look a lot like wolves, and I am a little worried, but not much. Then they shift and sit up, then start to hop off, and I realize they aren't wolves, but kangaroos, and wonder what the heck they are doing in Buena Park? Somehow I seem to be soaked, so I am taking off my pants and shirt and dropping them on the cycle, and wrapping myself in a big gray towel. About that time, Kevin wanders out of the house, says a couple of sentences of what seems to be gibberish, and then climbs in a car and drives off, which worries me. (He's not allowed to drive.)

I open the door to the house and walk in, only thinking about what I might walk into to barging into somebody else's house without knocking after I get inside, so I kind of bashfully knock on the wall. Fred and Betty are in the living room, and they don't seem to have minded my walking right in. I spot odd movement on the floor, and find myself looking at an odd white and pink puppy that seems to be a cross between a bijon and a poodle, though the coloring looks like some of the white and pink snakes I saw pictures of on the internet a few months ago. Soon I see two more wiggling out from under the blank. I ask Betty "You got new dogs?", kind of surprised. She tells me they don't know if they will keep them.

I have brought a cheap pizza with me, and open the refrigerator to put it in there, and see they have maybe 3/4 of a huge 26 inch party pizza from Ciro's sitting in there, pepperoni and sausage. Wish I'd known ... I wouldn't have bothered with the lousy one I got. I'm thinking I have to see if I can snag a couple of slices. Meanwhile, I am trying to find Dale, so I walk a few feet down the corridor to his room, but when I glance inside, he has a couple of girls in there, with him. [Not doing anything wrong ... this isn't that kind of dream.] I'm thinking about razzing him about it, until I realize I am still walking around wrapped in a towel, and decide I had better get some clothes on. It seems today is a big ball game of some sort, and they have a lot of people over to see it.

I walk outside, wanting to get my clothes, but somehow the area has changed a little, and I have to climb a fence (like we were going to visit Bertha) to get back to where my motorcycle is parked, I finally find it, and grab my blue shirt and start putting it on, just to discover I am putting it on over the top of another one. Somehow a shirt and pants just appeared on my body, and I realize I am dreaming. I try to hop the fence back to Dale's, but somehow I seem to be being pulled in the opposite direction. So I leap up and try to fly, and manage the flying, but am getting sucked at high speed toward what was the Nabisco plant. I go crashing through a wall, and find myself standing in a room surrounded by people.

It seems I have somehow been kind of summoned, as I am now surrounded by lots of people, and they have called me to be a candidate, as they try to figure who they want as their candidate for president. There are a bunch of other candidates as well, and they are talking to people, making speeches, and all of them are holding on to their wives. Every one. I look around and see an attractive blonde (she kind of looks like Reese Witherspoon) watching everything, and I grab her and pull her to me, just kind of joking around. She turns to tell me off, and our eyes meet, and wow! It's like we suddenly know everything about each other. Her head kind of tilts to the side as she studies me, and a small grin starts to form on her face before I lean in and give her a gentle kiss, then wrap my arm around her shoulder. We're now a couple, and very happy to have found each other.

But she is working here, and has things to do, so I have to let her go for a time. The others and I are writing speeches and songs or something, and I am singing a little ditty I've been working on. It's not fabulous, but it's not too bad, either. But one of the others makes a really nasty comment about it. I turn to him, ready to rip into his song, but I don't really want to run that kind of a campaign, so I have to settle for simply telling him his needs some work, too. Besides, I don't really have all that much interest in singing some kind of political song. Instead, I decide I want to sing to my new love, and am trying to remember the words to a song I wrote about 18 years ago called Love with Me. In waking life I can remember it fine, but in the dream, it was a struggle. Meanwhile, I have no voice, so I am not going to be able to sing well, but I hope the words (and the fact that I wrote it) will still have meaning to her.

Dale is here, as well, and we are wandering around the convention, and for some reason I am carrying a fire hose with me, though it isn't spraying. We're just approaching a stadium, and preparing to look for seats, and I am wondering just how much length this hose has, as I've dragged it a pretty far distance by this time. My new girlfriend shows up, and I drape my arm around her shoulder, lean my head against her, and just relax in the wonderful feeling of having her there next to me.
    5. Multiple Scenes Before Getting Dale a Security Job

      by , 08-10-2013 at 05:09 PM
08-06-2013 -- Find myself working some sort of computer job with a decent company where lower management isn't all that happy with me, but upper management really likes my skills. Somehow I am carrying around a very valuable hard drive which is somehow turning into a stack of several video games, and the fact that I am wandering around with it (them) isn't impressing DiNosso any. Gibbs doesn't seem too impressed, either. Somehow this leads to some rather aggressive driving on the other side of Hickory, before I find myself walking through the Buena Park Mall.

I am trying to find something, but I'm not quite sure what. I am walking toward Sears at about Newberry's, when I turn around and start heading back the other way. I find myself walking with somebody who is a cross between one of the girls from high school (Amy?) and Cordelia Chase (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) who is kind of making fun of my stride. I'm just about to get a little ticked when she says something that kind of half indicates she may be interested in me. What?!?

I soon find myself walking through Longs Drugs, and oddly I come across Triple H being forcibly removed from the store, as he has been banned, and the person throwing him out is the same one who once banned me from the store. I look over at Carl Baumer, and we just kind of shrug at each other. I wander through the store, but I can find no one and nothing that I am interested in, so I walk toward the exit. I still have no idea what I am trying to find, which may explain why I am having no luck in finding it.

Somehow I am soon talking to Dale, who I have somehow gotten a job working with a security company over the telephone. I have arranged a shift for him at an Orlando Paving plant, because he needs to make some extra money. He's really nervous, so I say I will accompany him on his first shift, and help him get the hang of everything. We're in his car and exiting the parking lot, and for some reason he is really stressed, and shoots out into traffic too fast to make the left turn he is trying to make, so he shoots all the way across the street, and up onto the side walk before he manages to turn. Thankfully we're in a parking lot, and have done no harm. Unfortunately, there is also a cop parked in the parking lot, and he is almost certainly going to follow us and give us a ticket.

I direct Dale down the street (well, down the sidewalk, and then back into the street) and am trying to direct him past the hotel we're driving past, because the cop (who is in an unmarked car, but I still recognize him) is going to cut through the back of the hotel, and assumes that is where we are going. If we get past the hotel before the cop starts looking for us outside, we'll lose him. I direct him on past, then have him turn on a small side street that unfortunately turns out to be one street before the one the OPC plant is on.

We find ourselves at the entrance to a short driveway, and just on the other side we can see the entrance to the paving plant, but it is a private, gated driveway, and we would have to take a bus to get over there. So I urge Dale to drive the car onto the bus, but he seems really nervous about it, and somehow the car splits into two cars, and I drive mine onto the bus, and he doesn't. The short driveway is really weird, as the bus is huge and tall, and kind of a bus on monster truck wheels, and the driveway is narrow, and part overpass, part underpass, and we are rolling over the top of some vehicles going the other way, and being rolled over by others. Really strange.

The bus drops me off at the entrance to the OPC plant, and I notice Dale doesn't follow me. I am hoping he will make it on his own, but am half expecting to get a phone call from him at any moment explaining how he's gotten lost, and needs me to come find him and lead him back. Meanwhile, I find myself opening the gate to allow workers to come in and out, and there are tons of workers and they seem to be working 24 hours a day, and also having guards here 24 hours a day. I was only going to help Dale get started, I wasn't officially going to be working the shift, so I have no ID, no uniform, and in fact I am wandering around in my underwear. (Or perhaps in my swim trunks.) I don't know anybody here, and soon I am in trouble with the guard I am supposed to be relieving for being late, being out of uniform, and I still have no idea if Dale is ever going to show up.
    6. Runescape and Doctor Who Quest Leads to Phone Problems

      by , 08-10-2013 at 03:58 PM
08-10-2013 -- Kind of a cross between Doctor Who and a Runescape quest, though much more has faded than I would like. Sigh. Anyway, early on there are some bits where the 10th Doctor is running around, but eventually he seems to more or less disappear, though somehow he is still speaking to me and giving me advice as things continue, some sort of mental connection. He may be in danger, or perhaps I am. I find myself in a large building, wandering around, and trying to get things done.

Somehow I have this giant flute, sort of. It is about five or six feet long, and kind of hard to play. It has five or six holes in its length that allow the playing of five or six notes, and I know I am supposed to play all the notes in order as part of the quest. But it is so big, it is kind of difficult to get it to play the notes, and takes a lot of air. I manage to play the first four notes fairly easily, but the fifth note is very difficult, and I seem to be getting nothing but air. It is also getting harder and harder to hold the thing, and I am finding it more and more difficult to remember which end to blow in, and it keeps trying to roll over in my hands, and can't be played if it is upside down.

I finally manage to blow enough air to get the fifth note, and continue on to the sixth, which takes the same hard work, and as I finish blowing, a small, glowing ball of 'stuff' pops out of the end of the flute. Something jamming it up might be why it was so hard to play the last couple of notes. The ball is about two inches in diameter, and glows a light blue, and seems sort of goopy if you get what I mean, when I kind of scrape off the goop I am left with almost a small sort of amulet or medallion with a sort of a logo or crest on it, and it is the new crest that I have earned to represent myself with the finishing of this quest.

I soon run into Dale, who seems to have been working on the construction skill, because he has built a large new home, but is worried because he hasn't built any furnishings for it, though he has decked it out with tons of flags and banners and some pennants showing his colors, crests and accomplishments. I get a whisper from the 10th Doctor that I ought to see about adding some new flags and pennants to my rooms making use of my new crest, and Dale is a little hesitant about this, not knowing anything about this odd Doctor Who quest that has somehow found its way into Runescape.

We seem to be discussing this at church in Buena Park, and I am guessing a service has just gotten over, because we are in the process of leaving, and dodging around slow moving people who are just standing around talking. When I reach the parking lot, I find myself approaching my Jimmy, which is pulling a small trailer, along the lines of one a landscaping company might use. It seems I am not used to pulling it around, because my parking takes up not two spaces, which I would expect, but four (2x2), because I couldn't get the trailer straight.

I load up and start to drive out of the parking lot, but I seem to have sat my red cell phone on the roof of the truck as I was climbing in, and forgot it there because while I am driving out the driveway along the side of the church, it falls off the roof and comes apart as it hits the ground. I curse to myself, put the vehicle in reverse, and back up 10 or 15 feet to where it fell off, and get out to pick it up. I find a bunch of people are standing around in the road just chatting and talking, and one of them is a slightly odd looking fellow, looks like the young teep with the thin mustache from Babylon 5, the one who looks slightly odd. He is fiddling with my phone and trying to tell me how badly I broke it, and he gets mad as I take it away from him.

It has sprung apart, and inside it looks more like a hard drive or something (with the ribbon cables and things) and it seems he has been twisting and wrapping the cable in odd ways that couldn't have happened in a simple fall like that, and has been messing the phone up far worse. He seems to think because I dropped the phone, he has a right to take it and do what he wants with it, and I don't have any right to pick it up again and try to fix it. But I take it, straighten out the ribbon as best I can, and try to fit it back together. It isn't perfect, there are now a couple of cracks where things don't fit together as perfectly as they used to, but it stays together pretty well, and starts up when I turn it back on, though there are some glitches on the screen that remind me of the night it fell in the toilet, before it dried out inside the next day. Still it seems to be working all right.

I climb back into the truck (which somehow involves having to pull it down from where it is floating perhaps 10 feet in the air, so I have to drag it down far enough to climb in) and am trying to situate myself and get it in gear, all while holding the phone in my hand. I manage to get in and get moving, and turn out of the parking lot onto Page. As I am driving along Page, this crowd of people stays with me, and the punk who wants the phone keeps trying to get it from me while riding along in his wheelchair. Somehow the damaged phone has half turned into a damaged room to the truck, which no longer fits tightly, so he keeps sticking his hand in and trying to steal the phone from me. He is annoying me enough that I half try to run his wheelchair off the road.

Soon I turn onto Stanton, and am heading toward the Buena Park Mall, just moving along, when suddenly we are all walking rather than driving, and as I feel my pocket, I realize my phone is missing again, and turn around just to see the same punk playing with my phone and trying to take it apart as bold as you please. I take it back from him yet again, remind him it isn't his, and he doesn't have the right to steal it from me, and give him a spanking to try and get the idea across!
    7. Driving in England and Sleeping in a Church

      by , 07-20-2013 at 02:07 AM
07-16-2013 -- I find myself driving around in Cambridge, England (at first) though slowly it morphs to London, England. I have no map, I just seem to know the general layouts of the streets from all my past dreams here. While I am still in Cambridge, I find myself thinking I might go visit Diane Farrow for a bit (the person who provided a room for me while I spent a sememster studying in England). I think she is just a couple blocks away, but as I am traversing those couple blocks, the shift to London occurs.

I am soon driving up a hill in a little yellow car, but end up having to stop because there is a lorry sprawled across the roadway unloading Subway sandwiches for the large church we are driving past, but doing so very slowly. I am considering trying to back up out of the area, but a huge tractor trailer has pulled up behind me, and he is already trying to back up, and pulverising a couple of parked cars in the process, so I think I'd just better wait a bit. Soon the Bobbies have arrived, and are threatening the unloaders to get a move-on, so things finally start to clear up.

As I head further up the hill and prepare to make a right turn from the right lane I am in to the right lane of the street I am turning on, I am mentally congratulating myself for remembering to drive on the left. [I'm not, I'm driving on the right but calling it the left. But so is everybody else in the dream, so eh ....] Soon I have parked the car (in London? Now I know I am dreaming) and am walking along on foot, considering inexpensive things like walking tours, since I have somehow made this trip to England with almost no money. Dale has found a church where they will let us sleep in the pews at night, but right now it is the middle of the day, and they are about to provide a meal.

There are some odd theme park-like queue lines that involve climbing up and around scenery, and somehow Dale has gotten several places ahead in line, and I am trying to catch up. Oddly, somebody behind me in the line starts to cut my hair, trimming out the oddly dyed pink bits that I somehow know I got in another dream, even if I can't remember such a dream.

I'm now around the back side of the church, wandering around two or three large buildings, and the queues have dispersed and Dale is not in sight, so I am trying to figure out where to go. The building directly ahead of me somehow looks a bit too fancy to be where destitute tourists would eat, so I keep walking, and soon find myself right behind a guard who seems to be preparing for a visit from the queen, and is really starting to question my presence here. He eventually sics a large German Shepherd on me, and I end up wrestling with the dog, but he doesn't really try to hurt me, just chews on my hand a little bit, and is a friendly sort ... to me.

Soon I find I have circled the entire building, and am back near the posh entrance that I doubted was the right one. This time I continue up to the entrance and find myself in a sort of buffet line, being offered all kinds of meat that might be somewhat common in England, but it much less so in America, such as venison, lamb and the like. But I never do catch up with Dale.
    8. Mom Abusing, Dale Flying Home, Swimming in Carpet at JCP Warehouse and fragments

      by , 05-25-2013 at 06:43 PM
May 25, 2013 -- [Went to sleep at about 10:30, probably drifted away about 10:45. Phone records show I received the text message that half-woke me at 11:52, then drifted back to sleep and continued dream, actually waking around 12:05, so you could argue most of this dream actually took place on the 24th.]

I'm at the Hickory house and mom is beating up on me again [nothing like this ever happened in real life, but in dreams I have to deal with this frequently, the last couple of years ... my mom, who has been dead for 7 or 8 years, is battering me for no reason in my dreams, except that she is going crazy.] She is claiming that I have done something horrible to the cat, who has been gone for something like 15 years, now, and it is obvious she is nuts. I put up with it for a little while, but then warn her if she continues hitting me, I am going to have to fight back. When she won't stop, I hit her and throw her around just enough to make her stop hitting me.

The problem is, there are other people in the house, and I now have to try to explain things to them, so they don't think I'm a bully who beats up on women. Meanwhile, I am trying to walk out of the house, but as I make it out of the hallway and into the living room, there are two young, cute, Japanese anime-style school girls there, too young, but not dangerously so, at about 16-18, I'd guess. They are sitting there in short skirts and tight tops, school girl uniform type of things, sitting there, talking to each other. I stop to enjoy the view for a few seconds. One of them has dyed red hair and Japanese features, and has her shorts pulled aside to reveal her landing strip and slit, quite a distraction. She seems to be making out with the other girl and rubbing herself on her leg, and I really have to almost tear myself away to stop watching.

I walk out the door of the house to find myself in a sort of cross between a hotel and a shopping mall. I am meeting Dale here before he has to leave and fly home to California [Dale hasn't been here since November, don't know why all these dreams about him going back to CA the last few nights when he hasn't even been here ...]. I'm trying to explain about the situation with mom, and how she's kind of getting nuts as she gets older, but he's really running late, packing very messily, and running out the door to try and avoid missing his plane, so he isn't really listening.

I follow him out the door, calling for him to slow down, and quit moving like a giraffe on those long legs, and find him near the exit (half hotel, half theme park, now), talking to a guy he's run into that looks very familiar, but I just can't quite recognize him. [Looking back at the dream now, he looked a lot like Biff Tannen, the bully jock from the Back to the Future movies, with a hint of Truman's 'best friend' from The Truman Show thrown in.] I just realize I probably vaguely recognize him from some movie, and am about to ask him what I recognize him from, but Dale has run off again, so I have to hurry to catch up.

I find him in the parking lot, just climbing into his rental car, and I ask him, did he pack everything? Does he need anything? He tells me that his new cell phone from Publix works really, really fast, and he's really happy with it. He also tells me he would really like me to make him a copy of some sort of DVD I have a some Disney stage shows (probably stuff I filmed using his camera) and the friend he is now with (who I don't know) also says he would like a copy. He runs off, and I suddenly find myself working a shift in the J.C. Penney warehouse.

[Somewhere about here, I was half-woke by a text on my cell phone, which I assumed was probably from Dale (it was, btw), but I just drifted back to sleep and back to the dream, which may explain a little of what is to follow.]

I find myself sort of flying around, working up at the loading docks where stuff is taken off the trucks and put on conveyor belts, then dropped from about 20 feet up, and we have to catch them, sort them, and put them on pallets. (In real life this would injure people and break stuff, but in dreams, I've had several like this in the last couple of years.) Annoyingly, I am not handling the regular stuff, but damaged returns, so instead of getting a box full of items, I am getting one of this thing, one of that, and I have to sort them into boxes with like items, making far more work, and they keep sending more and more stuff on the belts, and I am getting further and further behind, but they refuse to slow down. Soon there is so much stuff that it causes the entire system to collapse, with stuff scattered all over the place, the conveyor belt falling apart around me, and a very large flat screen TV hitting the ground and cracking open.

There is a young punk manager here, and though the whole thing is his fault, he tells me he is going to place all the blame on me, and I am going to be fired for this, and I am just thinking this is so unfair, and wishing they had hidden cameras out on the floor to catch him bragging about how it was his fault, but I am going to take the blame, but I know they don't. No fair! Meanwhile, some of the broken crates that have fallen seem to be stuff of mine that I have packed up and stored, and I now find myself running around, trying to gather my stuff together, including several bits of clothes that include old security uniforms I haven't worn in years.

By now I find myself out deep in the warehouse, among the tall racks of stock, all sorted on pallets and up in the air, except the space on the ground, the lowest rows, aren't filled with pallets, but all the associates' lockers, and as I am walking along, I spot one of them that has smoke gently rising from it. Something has caught fire. I am trying to call for help, and get somebody out here before things can spread, when I spot smoke rising from another locker a couple of rows away. And another. And another. There seems to be an arsonist running around, starting fires. There are several upper level employees running around trying to put them out, but I am helping out, acting as a spotter.

As they continue, I can't help but notice the floors we're standing on are not tile, or even stone (which would make even more sense), but there is a strip of carpeting, a kind of a blue-green carpet, running the width of the aisle, and the entire length of the warehouse. As I am standing there, pointing at another burning locker, I am kind of shocked to find another associate swimming up to me in the carpet. He splashes some water up at the locker and puts out the fire, and even splashes a tiny bit at me. I am really in shock. He is swimming along like he is swimming laps, but I'm just standing on it ... nothing but carpet, to me. "How can you do that?" I ask, but he refuses to tell me, darn it!

I can't help it ... I pull out my cell phone and start to text Dale and tell him what is going on in the warehouse, and I hope I will manage to catch him before he gets on his plane. As I continue, it slowly turns from a text into an e-mail, and I now seem to be typing on my laptop, which is easier, of course. But I am still getting annoyed because, though I can type quite fast (probably about 35 or 40 words a minute when I know what I want to say, even though I don't know how to touch type), there is a girl standing there, sending texts of her own, and she is somehow typing about 10 to 20 times as fast as me, which shouldn't be possible. In retaliation, I just start mashing the keys with both hands and even my arms, sending masses of complete gibberish to Dale, before I wake up.

[And the moment I wake up, I check my cell phone and verify the text that half-woke me was, indeed from him, and immediately started texting him about the dream he almost woke me from, but since I only just woke up, half of that text was also gibberish. ]

May 25, 2013 -- Somehow I have been visiting with Carolyn S., and was somehow even there last week when one of her sons (Carson, I think) graduated from elementary school [very odd, since all of her kids are already out of high school], though because of some sort of emergency or problem, Carolyn was not able to make it. She is very disappointed about this, and feels really bad about it. So when I am out doing stuff a couple of days later, and find myself in the right place at the right time, I decide to help out. I am somewhere in California, Garden Grove or Santa Ana or somewhere I know the major streets, but not well, and I realize I am really near Carson's school, so I decide to stop by and see if, even though the graduation has already happened, if there might be any more festivities Carolyn might be able to catch, to make up for missing the graduation.

As I said, the overall area is Garden Grove or something, but when the bus drops me off at his school, it is an exact duplicate of Peter Marshall. I approach the kindergarten playground and classrooms, and there are a lot of other people wanting to speak to somebody as well, so it is fairly crowded. But as I am walking up, I realize that it is Sunday, so nobody is going to be here. [Never mind that if graduation was last week, school is over for the summer, anyway.] I comment on this, and several others realize I am correct, and start walking away. I am about to join them, when I glance back at the class rooms. Not only are there people on the playgrounds, but I can even see them in the classrooms through the windows, so even though it is Sunday, people are still here.

I walk to the office, and find myself in a big line of people. I glance around, and there are five or six people working, and I remember when I was a kid at Marshall, and how there was only Ms Gurly and one teen working in here and managing everything. I can't imagine how they need so many people, now, but figure it must be much more record keeping because computers have made it so much 'easier' these days. Anyway, a couple of the people waiting in front of me in this huge line are pushy punks, and they start shoving me around a bit, until the staff gets angry, and orders us all to get out. They head out the door in front of me, and since they are now gone, I turn around at the last second and stay. Sine there is no more trouble, they let me.

I find myself leaning against the wall next to the door to the principal's office, and there is a meeting going on in there with a lot of people. Unfortunately the door is broken, and I keep bumping it open and having to apologize. Meanwhile, I am playing with a couple of nails sticking out of the wall, and find myself backing away from several large spiders. (Large as in large types, wolf spiders, or wood spiders, perhaps, not something like huge spiders. just like an inch or two long.) They tell me not to worry about the spiders, and nobody seems to care, though they creep me out a little.

Soon I finally have a chance to speak to the person in charge (who warns me they are still putting together the diplomas and mailing them out, and I can't collect it in person), and I say something like "I'm here on behalf of Carolyn S. Her son graduated a few days ago ... his name is ..." "Carson, yes. We were very proud of him ... such a shame what happened." "Wha?" "Oh, he went out and got drunk three days ago, and something happened, and now he is dead!" "But I just saw him ..." I continue to think ... four days ago! Oh no! Poor Carolyn. I am horrified. And about that time I wake up.

May 25, 2013 -- [Even later in the morning ... but most of this one is missing. There was even more of this one, before the part I remember, and I think it involved looking for a nice restaurant.] There were bits about eating, and maybe a hint of balloon twisting that I can barely remember, but then I find myself getting home at the Hickory house. Mom is being a bit of a pest, but nowhere near as bad as in the first dream of the night. Carolyn S. is also here, and it is several days after the second dream. I know I ought to tell her how sorry I am to hear about her son, and apologize for my visit to his grade school, but she is running out to door for a balloon gig of her own. But just as she is exiting, she mentions that Carson was asking about me, yesterday. Turns out he is fine, and the woman at the school didn't have any idea what she was talking about. Weird.

Meanwhile, I am walking to my second bedroom, and find that both the doors are open, and mom has been in there, messing with my stuff again. Darn it, I wish that woman would stay out of my room and leave my stuff alone! I walk in, and start glancing around to see what she might have messed with, and soon find myself playing some Runescape. It is half-live, half game, but I have no computer to play with. I soon find myself facing off against a huge troll or ogre, something along the lines of Bork, but not him. Problem is, I can't seem to touch him, but he sure seems to be able to touch me! Somebody sees me having problems, and calls over to me that the only thing he is weak to is the casting of bloom, but I don't have my druid pouch with me.

Luckily, I do have my first ever cell phone, my old silver Sanyo flip phone, and I pull it out of my pocket, and start flipping through it to see if I might have any sort of Runescape app. Luckily I find one that allows me to cast bloom by pushing the 2 key, so I wait for the creature to attack me, hold the phone at him, mash the 2 key a few times, and a bright light comes out of the phone, and starts to injure him. I have to wait a little while before he recovers enough to try again, and we do the same thing. This goes on 10 or 12 times, and I've beaten him down to about half health, but unfortunately, I'm almost out of prayer, so I am not going to be able to cast bloom anymore. So I am struggling with the app to see if there is any way I can access my Ardy cloak to recharge my prayer points, but so far I haven't managed it. [In actuality, I would probably need the Falador shield, rather than the cloak.]
    9. Kamikaze Invasion in Denmark?

      by , 02-05-2013 at 05:30 PM
02-05-2013 -- [First time in several days a detailed dream worth recalling.] I am in BM's place, probably the trailer, and we are cleaning something, probably the guest bathroom. I need to go to the bathroom, so I sneak into BM's bedroom to use her bathroom, hoping she'll never know, and won't mind if she finds out. I am taking a pee, but my aim isn't perfect, and a few drops splash on the floor. I cover it up with a bit of paper.

Unfortunately it seems BM needs to use the bathroom, too, so is at the door asking what I am doing there and telling me to hurry up. So I get out of the way, and we are standing in her bedroom talking. I glance out the window, and we are suddenly on something like the 7th floor of a hotel, and there are planes falling out of the sky, which is terrifying. But worse, as we watch, one is very close and heading directly at the window.

We run, bolting out of the room and into the hallway, all the while I am making like Marvin the Martian, and wondering where is the earth-shattering kaboom. Somehow by this point we are running down a hall on the third floor, when I hear the crash, and see the plane plowing through a wall maybe a hundred yards away, and crashing through the hotel. It swung around and came through at a different angle and a lower altitude, and it is moving rather slowly, so I fear it is packed with enemy soldiers who will try to seize the hotel.

I don't know what is going to happen, or how bad things are going to be later, so I am considering running back to the hotel room to get my prescriptions, but I decide it would be too dangerous, and to just get out until I can find out whether they just crash the planes, or storm the hotel from the wreckage. BM has already disappeared, and I look at the two story escalator going down to the lobby. Somehow I enter the wrong one, and am running down the steps as others are being elevated. Silly me.

When I reach the lobby and burst outside, there is no sign of BM, and instead I am meeting Dale. We're discussing what is going on, while he sits in his rental car, on the wrong side of the car. He says it is because he hasn't eaten yet, and when he is hungry, he makes mistakes. I am thinking there is also the possibility that he is confused because we are in Denmark. Anyway, we get in his car, and we are driving to somewhere to eat, while listening to radio reports about traitors helping the invaders from the wreckage of the plane and being killed for it. Yup ... it's an invasion.

He says he always goes to Applebee's to watch the big game, and I'm thinking 'wasn't the big game yesterday?' [My mind was only one day behind.] Anyway, we are suddenly in the restaurant at the counter and paying for our meal, and they are giving him his change all in coins, while helping us pack up our leftover food, and the rest of our stuff. They have a small bag of my stuff that I don't know where it came from, and my dream journal, which somehow has a large corner banged up and worn, like it's been used for years.

Somehow they are giving Dale a haircut, and he is wearing an odd, pointed balloon hat while they do, which is kind of strange. Oddly, instead of him tipping them, they tip him, and it is a rather large tip. He comments on how they tipped him enough for him to buy us all a round of drinks, including Carsten, who is now with us. [Dale doesn't drink.]
    10. The Five Point Chase Dream

      by , 01-17-2013 at 05:03 PM
01-17-2013 -- [This dream happened very early in the night when I should not have been having dreams with the 5-HTP I have been taking. I went to bed around 11:30, and woke around 2:00, earlier than I would expect. On the other hand, it was weird and disjointed, which I would expect from such an early dream.]

Big, long chase-style dream, with tons of scene changes, and very hard to remember details. Starts with an odd combination of a kids' play area and perhaps a ship (much like the ship I got pulled under in the David Tennant Bat'leth dream), where I seem to be kind of climbing into a kids play area. But soon things shift, and I find myself half-flying, half skiing through a snowy mountain area that seems familiar.

It is very much something we are doing in real life, but there is still a kind of a hint of Runescape, and it seems like some sort of route (like doing herbs at the five herb patches). Dale is doing this with me, but it has been a long time since he has done it, so he doesn't remember where things are, and I am half trying to help him, and half trying to beat him and gain more experience.

Anyway, we're sliding down the slopes of this snowy mountain, and eventually slide off on what almost seems to be a sort of freeway exit. It feels like halfway a small town exit off I-95 in the Tampa area (San Antonio or perhaps Bushnell), partway something off I-4 near Disney, and partly something in the Rancho Palos Verdes area in California. Anyway, we're on the off ramp waiting to make a left turn, and Dale just makes it in a gap in the traffic while I have to wait a bit for more traffic to go by.

It seems like I head west a few hundred yards, and then make a u-turn and head a bit further East, which begs the question why we didn't make a right turn instead of a left turn off the freeway off ramp. Weird. Anyway, Dale is ahead of me, and I soon find myself driving into a sort of combination apartment complex and retirement home, where it seems I have to deliver some newspapers.

It has a very Register feeling to it, because the paper comes in two sections, and I have to put them together. I know I have to deliver 8 or 9 papers to this complex, but I can't remember which units are my customers. Luckily there are only about 15 apartments, and I have a few extra papers, so I might be able to just deliver papers to all of them, and avoid any problems. At some point it also turns from the Register, to an issue of Grit.

Somehow somebody is ranting about how dogs aren't allowed, though they just might barely allow a small puppy, but somebody else has brought both a puppy and a dog, and that's just not allowed. Meanwhile, all the people are coming out to meet me instead of allowing me to drop the papers off at their porches, and taking papers directly from me, while a sprinkler is soaking all of us and the papers. It is very confusing and surreal.

Anyway, Dale is still ahead of me, and I have to try and catch up with him, and so I have to get out of here, but all the old people want to walk with me and talk with me. Meanwhile, I am trying to fly out to gain some speed, but the area I am leaving seems to be lined with the kind of netting / fencing that they use on a golf driving range to keep you from being able to hit golf balls out of the area, and the stuff is tight and limiting my flying.

I make it out of that area, and move on to the next area, which seems to be a combination of the Animal Kingdom, Knott's Jungle Island, and a Polynesian area I've dreamed about a few times recently. I have to get in here, but I am still being chased by somebody who started chasing me at the gold course as I tried to fly. I am at this second area to make a pick-up of Idexx samples, which is why the flavor of the Animal Kingdom, but the security entrance is actually kind of the covered bridge entrance to Knott's Jungle Island.

I am supposed to stop to see security to get in, but with the idiot chasing me, I just decide to fly over the bridge (and security gate) to escape the guy. Unfortunately, that has security starting to chase me, so I just trade one for the other. I try to explain I'm here to pick up the Idexx samples, but they say somebody else just came and picked them up (Dale, of course). So I ask if he picked up both sets of samples, and they didn't know there were two sets of samples. (The reason they didn't know is that there aren't two sets, but I did find samples to pick up, so whatever Dale grabbed, they weren't the right stuff.)

Anyway, I grab the samples and try to fly right back out the way I came in, but I seem to be being chased by more and more people. There are large vines everywhere in the air, and I am trying to dodge them and fly around them, but there are more and more of them, and I am having more and more trouble. Right when I escape one guy, somebody else always starts chasing me.

At one point, some of the vines I am having to fly around and avoid even seem to be shooting out of my mouth, and at others they are shooting through the pane of glass in the front door of the Hickory House, as things just get odder and odder, in a full-out chase dream that makes less and less actual sense.
    11. Disneyland Paris, People Peeing, and Constant Dream Issues

      by , 01-06-2013 at 07:57 AM
01-04-2013 -- [This one contained a bit of everything, failed dream checks, eventually becoming lucid, the switch from writing my dreams on envelopes to using a fully proper dream journal again for the first time in years (bought two weeks ago), remembering several other recent dreams in the dream ... all kinds of great things.]

Out somewhere with Dale, seems to be a shopping mall. People are gathering around in the area, and taking seats in much the same area we are. It seems some sort of show or presentation is about to take place. Some people start talking to us, but whatever we're waiting for never seems to actually happen. There is one lady here who seems to be an interpreter for the deaf, who is talking in sign language, and Dale is replying the same way. Odd.

Her pants are half-undone, and her underwear is peaking out, yet oddly she seems to be wearing sweats. This is the first point where I start wondering if this might be a dream. The thing ends, and Dale disappears. I'm wondering where he might have gone to. I walk a little bit south, and end up taking a seat on a curb, waiting for Dale to turn up again. Instead, Dave D, a childhood friend, wanders up, recognizes me, and starts a conversation.

We talk for a while, and he eventually morphs into a high school friend, Chris V. I am getting kind of hungry, and want something to snack on, so I reach into my pocket and bring out a small brown sack. It turns out this contains the jawbreakers I bought a couple of days ago in this dream. They aren't very good, have kind of part dissolved, and are rather sticky. Yuck. Won't make jawbreakers there again!

Chris is drinking a beer, and I continue to talk to him. He reaches the point of having to go to the bathroom, but for some reason he doesn't want to get up, so he just kind of hauls it out and starts peeing on the ground and himself, still chatting away like nothing is happening. As it starts to spread, I grab my backpack and put it on my shoulder to keep it, and my new dream journal, dry. After he is done, he stands up and walks away without a word. Very strange.

His pool of pee is still spreading, so I step off the curb and start to walk across the street. I pass some people carrying a bag with the Carl's Jr logo on it, and wonder if I am back in California? On the other side of the street, there is a kind of courtyard, so I take a seat on a bench that is maybe 30 or 35 feet in from the street. I am far enough back that I am afraid nobody will find me.

But just a minute or two later, Dale walks right up to me, and we start walking and talking, back to the area where the dream first started. I tell him this weird situation I just ran into with Dave ... erm ... I mean Chris. Wait a minute.... As I realize Dave turned into a Chris, I really ask myself if I am dreaming, and try to push a couple of my fingers through my palm. Nothing happens. So I guess I am not dreaming.

Dale and I are in Disneyland Paris, and I ask him where we are going now. "Don't say Fantasyland, please ... from here, that's the furthest place in the whole park!" His reply is that he thinks the furthest place in the park from here is actually Splash Mountain, which is the other direction. I don't argue with him, but I know a short-cut to Splash, which begins right about where we are. But it seems we are walking to Fantasyland.

We reach the new Orleans Square type of area (which actually doesn't exist in Disneyland Paris) and find ourselves standing outside the Phantom Manor. The line is quite long, stretching outside the queue, so we probably won't go on that. Somehow we find ourselves listening to an argument involving different cast members and guests about homosexuality, and I'm not getting involved with the conversation, but can't help but think it is not something to argue about in the middle of a theme park.

Dale has disappeared again. I glance at the line, and he isn't there. I glance in the direction we were walking, and he is nowhere in front of me. I have no idea where he has gotten to. I continue walking, hoping to find him, and pull out my cell phone to give him a call, but my cell phone keeps cutting out. Just then I get a call, but it isn't from him. It is from a performer at the Adventurers Club that was trying to warn me off her in a previous dream [might have been in this dream, though I didn't remember the warning off bit when I was typing up the dream]. We're arguing about how strong a weak a person she is, but again the call keeps breaking up, so the conversation can't really get anywhere.

By this point, I am now deep into Fantasyland, near the very end of the park. There has still been no sign of Dale, but I am trying to push both my cell phone and its charger back in my pockets, when I find the wires running from my pocket to another guy's hands. He was trying to pick my pocket and got caught. He tries to act nonchalant, but really, how caught in the act can you get?

As I continue walking, a couple of other people are trying to steal things from me, and I am starting to get worried. I remember reading about how bad the pickpockets are in some tourist areas in Europe, and moment by moment I am carrying more and more stuff, which would make me easier and easier to steal from. I think I now have a video game system in my hands, as well, or maybe a microwave. Very bulky.

I've now managed to wander right out of the theme park, into a residential street, and since there were no limiting gates or turnstiles, I am hoping it is a residential area for cast members. But whatever it is, I obviously don't belong here. I turn around and start back for the archway that I just walked through to exit the park. But there are now several punks trying to steer me off the path, and away from the gate, to somewhere they can mug me for my stuff, since pickpocketing hasn't succeeded. I push past them, and force my way back into the park.

I find myself being followed by Pluto, who it turns out was one of the 'people' trying to pickpocket me (find myself thinking of one of the Capital Steps parodies, 'You're a Pest'), but now that we're back in the park, he has to behave. I need to use the restroom by this point, so I go into one, and find they have very, very large stalls, but with very low partitions, so while in them, you can see the rest of the restroom. I remember something about people reaching under stall doors to steal stuff, so I am trying to set down all my stuff far enough away from the stall door that it is safe.

Again, I have more and more stuff with me, including my backpack, my dream journal, a towel, extra clothes, more electronics. It almost seems to be multiplying. Others are now walking in, and some of them are women. I again start to wonder if I am dreaming, since this is one of my common dream situations, but I think 'I'm in Paris. They could have some unisex bathrooms. As long as there is no nudity where I can see it, this probably isn't a dream.' Then one of the ladies takes off her top, and we've got boobs!

I notice a sound, glance down, and notice I am peeing on the floor, facing away from the toilet, watching these people. I turn around and finish my business, while thinking more and more that I am dreaming. I try pushing my fingers through my palm, and again it doesn't work. Then I remember a recent dream where I proved I was dreaming by looking at my hand, where my fingers were damaged, wrinkled, bent at weird angles, or even cut off, and I bring my hand up to my face and stare at it.

It looks perfectly normal. I continue to stare, and as I do, it seems to wrinkle and whither slightly, but not enough to prove I am dreaming. Then suddenly, my fingers and thumbs start to stretch and morph, and I am suddenly turning into Edward Scissorhands, and am terrified, wondering what I am going to do ... then I start to laugh and it registers ... yup, I know I am dreaming now! Time to have some fun! And I immediately wake up.
    12. Two Shorter Runescape Dreams, Penguin Hunting and Farming

      by , 12-30-2012 at 03:21 AM
11-26-2012 -- Hunting penguins in Runescape, but oddly, every one of them seems to be a crate. But for some reason, many of them are peaking out the sides of the crates, instead of out the top, as usual. I start in the one way passage section I frequently dream about (that seems to be half Al Kharid, half Morytania), but I soon find myself chasing one of the pests running free in the area right below ice mountain, where the dwarves have their mines.

Foraging through some high grass, I manage to find two or three penguins here (kind of like the one kind of grass patch I used to level up characters in Adventures of Link), and oddly I manage to get two or three sets of rocks at the same time, which doesn't make sense, since you don't get rocks for hunting penguins.

I don't know how, but I am soon watching an area several screens above me, keeping an eye on what is going on, even though I am nowhere near it. It is like I am watching the Barbarian Outpost from the Fishing Guild ... that kind of distance. I click on a guy with a penguin following him, so my character goes running across several screens of space without my having to do anything. So I just keep running, following this guy until I reach the gate to the Polynesian area that I keep dreaming about, recently.

I open the gate, and go through, but I fear I have lost the penguin. Thankfully, though it made it through the gate earlier, it is still hanging out in the immediate area, so I manage to score another penguin! Dale is looking for the same penguin, and passes me as I head back out into the rest of Runescape, and we meet up a few minutes later, though it is now live action instead of a video game.

Dale and I are wandering around in the lobby of this very tall Polynesian-themed hotel, looking at and playing either a bunch of video games, or perhaps a bunch of slot machines. Kevin just wants to eat, even though we just had lunch an hour or so ago!

11-27-2012 -- I've been dealing with several different sorts of jobs throughout this dream, including security work, courier stuff and mystery shopping, all kind of mixed together. Hey it all involves some driving around. I soon find myself in the office being told off by somebody who is either Laurie or perhaps Sheila S., and they are yelling me up one side and down the other, blaming me for late deliveries and the like, threatening to fire me if delivery speeds don't pick up.

The problem is, the delays that are making things late are all their fault, and I soon find myself on the edge of just screaming back at them. But I know if I do, I'll be fired on the spot, so I am trying desperately to hold my temper. I fear if I open my mouth, I may quit before they have a chance to fire me!

So finally, I just grab a list of 'deliveries' (which are in fact a bunch of seeds to be planted) and head for the door. John (Courier Express) tries to stop me on the way out, and tells me I'm not doing so bad, the others are just over-reacting, and tells me to just get out there and plant these as quickly as I can. AAUUGGHH!!

I need to get 11 seeds planted, or maybe it is 15, as fast as I can. I am wearing my balloon apron, but instead of balloons, it is stocked with seeds. The first plot I come to is a square, right outside the office, not an allotment patch. I think I plant some kind of tree. Just a few steps away is the ectovial farm patch, and I think I plant watermelons there. (This is a spot that has been in several dreams recently.)

I sort through the other seeds, and I've got seeds for maple and willow trees, flowers, all kinds. I'm walking along the side of a road that seems familiar from other dreams, and it is almost more like Farmville than Runescape. Several of the patches that I am walking by have been pulled up by the city, because it has been so long since the last time I dealt with these. One of the patches, near the entrance of a park, is hard and rocky. It has really dried out, and might need some real work to get it back in shape. Another seems to have been entirely paved over. I'm avoiding cars and motorcycles entering the park as I clear weeds from other patches and start to replant them.

    13. NCIS, the Candy Store, and the Superman Shop

      by , 12-30-2012 at 02:27 AM
12-29-2012 -- Earliest parts are very sketchy, and seem very interesting. There is something about time travel and chase situations, with at least some of the cast from NCIS. Can't remember any details about anybody specific, except that we end up at a shopping mall, where FBI Agent Fornell is trailing an attractive blonde woman, before she wanders off on him. I am with him, and comment that as long as he is here, he ought to stop off at a steak restaurant at the mall and have a meal. The place is perhaps a blend between Ruth's Chris and The Hops. I tell him something like "That steak is so good, you'll feel it's worth the instant coronary!" He refuses, and angrily drives off.

I head into the mall, and start browsing around. It is one of the big ones that I used to always dream about, like Westminster or South Coast Plaza, and mostly I am just browsing around, but I spot a candy store, and I really find myself in a mood for some large jaw breakers. I soon find a candy store, but at first glance it doesn't look like they have any jaw breakers. But then I spot some special equipment, and it seems like they actually make the jaw breakers to order.

The person has just finished making some for somebody else, and I indicate my interest. They urge me out a door on the other side of the storefront, when I really want to use the one right next to me, because I am lazy, but I do what I have to. I remember what I've seen on the internet a few months ago (I really did look up how jaw breakers are made) about pans of liquid that they slowly roll around in, as they build up, and I soon find myself standing in front of a sort of pan with several large tubes above it. You select the flavors you want, and they pour them in, so you get the different flavored layers.

They allow you to choose four flavors, and I want orange in the center, blue raspberry, lime, and cherry. Problem is, they have dozens of flavor choices, and they aren't marked well, but you just have to go by color. The blue raspberry is so dark, I end up adding root beer, instead, and have to add the blue raspberry afterward, my lime, and forego the cherry. Oh well. Somehow the process is really quick, and they soon have four or five jaw breakers ready for me, about two inches around, each, with four layers of flavor, and the common white coating around the outside.

I step back into the store, to give them a chance to bag them and ring them up for me, and I go to sit down on a sort of a sofa to wait, but there is a cute girl there that I seem to know and like, and a bunch of her friends who are pushy and rude. Dale shows up, holding some sort of Superman-themed staff, and we stand next to the sofa, talking, when it starts to rise up in the air (with the immediate floor area around it) like some sort of giant elevator.

The girls are freaking out and starting to scream and yell, and Dale tries to explain something about the character of Superman, and points to a huge, curved I-Max screen that we soon find ourselves looking down on. The sofa seems to be rising to it's proper seating location to give us a good view of the movie. But the girls aren't interested. We've reached a place of about 40 feet in the air, and our 'platform' has lined up with another floor of the mall, so they belt out the door as quick as they can, leaving us all behind.

Wimps! Dal is feeling really tired, and kind of ill, and decides he is going to go home. Problem with this is that he has only partly paid for the Superman staff, and he is supposed to go back and pay the rest of it before he leaves, but he asks me to do it, instead. I take the staff, and my bag of jaw breakers, and also start to try and pick up a sort of sheet of glass. The way things change in dreams, I now have either a clear piece of glass with colored sand kind of etched into it, or a sheet of shiny black material with brilliant colors streaked on it in a design I made on the machine (the one that originally made jaw breakers?) that is now very fragile art work.

I make my way back down to the main floor of the mall, where I find Dale's Superman store, except moment by moment it is turning into a Star Wars store, instead. The staff is becoming one like the Sand People on Tatooine carried, and the decor is shifting before my eyes. I find myself facing an older salesperson who looks like a cross between KFC's the Colonel, and my Jr High guidance counsellor, Mr. Cravens.

He understands that I am trying to finish paying for the staff, but he doesn't know the proper amounts, so he says I am going to have to wait for one of the others to help out. She eventually comes up, and I think she tells me that he still owes $500 on the thing, and I say I thought it was $100. She says that's what she said, $100. I start scrabbling through my pockets and count out maybe $200 in twenties, and can't find any more. I just don't have $500 ... wait a minute, she said $100. I have that right here! I hand over the money, and she hands me the rest of Dale's purchase, a very shiny, solid silver model of R2D2, just about 6 inches tall. I don't know how he's affording this very nice piece!
    14. The Blonde Mechanic and the English Thug Van Thief

      by , 12-20-2012 at 08:21 PM
12-18-2012 -- I am out driving, probably for a very long time, and very cross country. I find myself arguing with a friend about state borders and rivers and stuff like that, well into a very long trip. We eventually end up in Casselberry, on 17-92, just north of 436. I turn in to a business park or shopping center on the East side of the street, running an errand or just arguing with somebody or something.

When I eventually come back out, it is to a very nice sedan convertible. Couldn't tell you what kind, but very nice, attractive, beige model. I climb into the car, turn into traffic, and head south. By this point I am alone for the moment. I crank up the stereo, and have the music running through my head. [I might have woke humming it, but I am not sure.]

The brakes are not working perfectly, very soft, not much stopping power (noticing a trend here in my dreams?) and the car keeps pulling to the left. I am driving in the center of three lanes, but keep finding myself drifting into the left lane. I decide I have to do something about this. I soon find myself heading north on a narrow street, pulling up to a garage or service station.

At this point, I have the convertible, and also a large gray van, very much like the A-Team van, or the one my roommate Randy drives. It is a very old van. I find myself talking to the repair woman, who is a gorgeous blonde, kind of looks like Julie Musante (first couple of images) from the Ministry of Peace on Babylon 5, a woman about whom Ivanova commented "Captain, I think you are about to go where everyone has gone before."

She is telling me the van is very old, probably from the 70s, and it is going to take at least two days just to check over the thing and see what kind of condition it is in. The convertible will be much quicker. I ask why, and she explains, but I can't remember anything of the explanation. I am thinking of trying to hit her up for a date, when there is a yell from outside.

I step out to the curb, just do see Dale yelling, and the van disappearing around a corner. Somebody has stolen it. We climb into the convertible, and start to give chase. We head perhaps a quarter of a mile south, and turn west on a side street the van turned on, and I realize we're in England, so I turn onto the left side of the road, while reminding Dale to remind me of the proper side of the road to drive on here. In the process, we almost hit the van, which turns off of the side street, and is heading south on the street we just turned off of.

We travel maybe 2/10 of a mile down the side street to find a place we can turn around, then make it back to the main street and head perhaps another half mile south before we turn east on another side street, where we find the van parked on the north side of the street, in a driveway, on the diagonal. We pull in behind it to block it, and find two things.

One side of the van has already been painted a baby blue, as the thief tries to change it enough that people wont recognize it, and we are facing a large, thuggish punk who doesn't want to give it up. I try reasoning with him, explaining I need the van. I have no job, no money, and if I have no transportation to get around and find a job, I'll starve. He tells me he is in the same position.

He's a big, strong guy, in great shape, not a fat, out-of-shape, poor condition slob like myself, and I'm being very careful about how I speak to him, but I look at him and say surely he ought to easily be able to get work in a warehouse or digging ditches or anything like that. His reply is a surly "Don't want to." Obviously its he doesn't want a job, not he can't get one or can't do one. Accent and attitude seems rather like a stereotypical Liverpool tough from TV shows.

Anyway, we've caught him before he can paint the van, and know where he is at, and could bring the cops, so he realizes he isn't going to get away with this, and he starts to try and make a deal, instead. He really wants a cake. If I buy a cake for him, he'll give me back the van. I don't want to buy the guy a cake, of course, but I agree because it will avoid trouble, and be a halfway easy solution.

He leads me another block or two south on the main street, and the street turns to head west. Right on the south corner of that curve, he leads me to a very dirty, very dingy bakery. We walk in, and the place is a mess. There aren't many cakes, there are a ton of people in line, and it almost looks like something out of Dickens. I am glancing at the small cakes, mostly round double layer cakes of the sort you would find in supermarkets here in the states, but they are selling for prices in the range of 38 to 45 pounds each. These are expensive bloody cakes.

The lighting is very low, it is very dingy, and there is a very long line. I suspect I will have to wait in that line a couple of hours. I walk back outside, and decide if I have to wait that long, I am going to have a book to read, as I do so. I am glancing down the street at all the shops, figuring there has to be a bookstore somewhere. I am looking for a Chapters, but since this is England and not Canada, I probably should be looking for a Dillons or Heffers instead.
    15. Cell Phone Stalking and a New Puppy

      by , 11-14-2012 at 08:21 PM
11-11-2012 -- [This one seems to be all over the place.] I am sitting around playing with my cellular phone, and find myself almost making a call to R.A. Herring by dialing R.A. Herring, before I realize that is probably a really bad idea. Instead, maybe I ought to get BC to do that ... no, probably not.

As I am thinking about this, I find that MetroPCS is going to change their phone plans again in a couple of weeks, adding more features and raising the prices. The nice thing is, their old customers will be grandfathered in at the same old price. Since I was already grandfathered in the last time, this means I will be keeping the same really low price for any number of years, which seems like I am getting a really good deal, so maybe life is good.

Somehow I find myself being given a puppy by Bynner D., but that means I need to move it to a larger, more roomy crate with a roof to protect it from the weather. I find that I seem to be doing this in the Heinz house on Holly Way, and I can't wait to get home for the day and start playing with it and cuddling it. As I get home, I find a strange cross between Betty McBride and Betty Taylor singing Home, I'm Home. I start to belt it out, and do a great job.

I find myself outside the steps of the sort of farmhouse I once visited my grandparents in, and two little babies seem to be falling down the stairs. I manage to catch one, and deflect the other, so it at least doesn't fall as far. Somehow in regards to this, Dale is kind of getting too religious, blaming things on sin or something, when in reality, kids wander, and sometimes do fall down. There is something about considering having a meal at Ohana or perhaps a Chinese restaurant, but the details aren't too clear.

Soon I find there seems to be some sort of construction going on at the house next to the Goodwins, and I am about to ask some police about it, but just before I get the chance, they move a heavy manhole cover, and something large jumps out of it and starts to scurry away. Yuck! Is it a giant roach? No, its a four foot long lizard, which is scary, but much better than an equally large roach! There are also a bunch of spider webs, and I find that Dale is playing music from some soundtracks.
