    1. They Live ... Without Eyes

      by , 02-16-2016 at 05:53 PM
02-15-2016 -- [Many wakings, long dreams I can't remember, cool stuff I've lost, and then finally this dream with a lot missing, but also a lot of details I manage to remember. Vaguely nightmarish, and woke to even more nightmarish stuff.] There are these people on TV that are giving orders, and somehow there are hints that they can see the future or something, but there's something weird about them. I don't know what, but I can just kind of sense that something is a bit off.

As I really concentrate, and look, while watching them, I begin to kind of see it. In some way, over the TV, they are hiding their real faces, and they look perfectly normal, but when I really stare, I begin to see through that facade, and begin to barely catch a glimpse of their real faces. It isn't at all clear, at first, but I start to see square white patches where their eyes should be. And somehow for the moment, it is really spooky and creepy.

I come to know that they have had their eyes gouged out, which somehow allows them to see into another time or dimension or something, which may be helpful, and allow them to provide some good directions, but when you suddenly see through the disguises, it's also kind of spooky. The ones on TV are disguised really well, and it is really hard to see through it, but the ones around me in person are a lot easier, and moment by moment I can see through the disguises at a glance, and in a scene hugely reminiscent of 'They Live,' I'm walking down the street, pointing out people, going "You're normal." "You're OK." "Ewwww ... that's disgusting!" The ones who realize I can see through their disguises go running off in horror.

Anyway, one guy has given me instructions that I have to go see somebody in the hospital, and that it's vitally important that I talk to him and check on him ... then the guy goes running off. Another is to drive me there, and he must have had his eyes gouged out a long time ago, because he has done away with the linen bandages, and it looks like his eye sockets have almost entirely grown over, which is somehow less creepy ... until I remind myself that I am riding in the cab of a person who is blind.

Suddenly I find myself walking past a large, fading, decrepit old house, spooky, tall grass. I'm moving carefully, pushing branches out of the way, and trying to avoid the snakes I don't quite see, but know are there. I'm not me, but someone else that I'm just kind of watching over. He's gotten to the upper rear corner of the property, and is kind of hiding behind some rotting old steps, and he 'knows' the timing is just right for the summoning of a powerful, demonic 'god,' but doesn't really believe in such things, so he starts to chant the words he's been told to speak, the idiot.

So with a bang and a lot of brimstone, this huge, powerful demon appears, and stalks around pontificating about finally being free to terrorize, and tossing aside a basic 'thanks' to the idiot that summoned him, before he stalks off through the grass. Meanwhile I am with this thin, trembling scared teen who is more and more resembling Shaggy, who is done with this, and is about to bolt, but still reminds me I have to go see the kid in the hospital, which it turns out is the rotting, decrepit old building.

This isn't the guy who was driving me. He was older, a lot bigger, bulkier, and not nearly so terrified ... and yet, he might be the same guy, because it is weird and dreams are like that. I tear off the information about the person I am supposed to be seeing from out of the guy's notebook, and step through the rubble and debris as I start to make my way into the hospital, and the sound of me feet in the gravel are very loud and clear. In fact, they seem more real than anything else ... in fact ....

[I start to come awake in the real world, and can still clearly hear what are sounding like footprints in the gravel outside my windows, like somebody is walking around just outside. I lay in bed, motionless, just listening to the sound, and wondering what is going on, and as I come more awake, I realize I don't have any gravel outside by the windows, and I am starting to suspect another palmetto bug has gotten in, and is crawling around in the bits of paper on the floor, except as I shift and turn the light on, I can not hear anything moving around, even after several minutes, which seems very unlikely, and I'm eventually forced to conclude that I was lying is just the right position with my ears bent by my sleeping in just the right way that a sound of the pillow brushing against the headboard or something was producing a slight brushing sound that was amplified absurdly, combined with the nightmarish setting to wake me with heart palpitations. (Figuratively.)]
    2. Rescuing a Friend from Abuse, Doctor Who, and the Scifi Convention

      by , 10-07-2015 at 10:16 AM
06-14-2015 -- So I'm sitting on a curb in a bad neighborhood, eating something. I'm a little scared something bad is going to happen, but it is late at night, there is almost nobody on the street, and I am sitting in a small space between my car and another one, in the shadows, and am almost invisible. Some woman spots me, though, and thinks I am homeless or something, so is coming over to offer me some food or help, and I'm trying to explain I don't really need it.

I start to stand up, and put a backpack or something on the convenient gate of a nearby truck, but as I am getting to my feet, it starts to drive off with my stuff. So I jump to my feet and start to chase after it, but I can't run fast enough. So I kind of launch myself into the air and fly forward, and land on the roof of the truck. It is now more or less a box truck, the kind with the cab separate, so the guy doesn't hear me land on the roof. He gets to a restaurant he is going to, and I jump off the back and more or less fly inside so I am already there when he walks in, and he doesn't suspect I got there on his roof.

But as I get inside, things start to change around, and I find myself near someone I *think* is Sharon N. (not sure because it has been a very long time.) She is scared and freaking a bit, and I find she and her mother are being abused, and she hears her mother crying out in pain, so she pulls out a gun and is preparing the shoot the guy doing the abusing. At this point, I am halfway there, and halfway just watching the dream happen.

I grab the gun from her, and explain her fingerprints would get her caught. Instead I wipe the gun down, then fasten it into a table-mounted vice, with it pointing out the window and right down where the guy is dragging her mother, and when he's in the right position, I push the trigger with a stick and it shoots him. We run out of there quickly, and have left no evidence behind, but because we're running, they're chasing us.

We split up, but are meeting in Sharon's college dorm room, which is on about the 15th floor of a residence hall or something, and I'm just running up stairways trying to find a way to loose the cops chasing us. And there are lots of other students running around, and stuff happening, and things are just getting a bit stranger all the time, and that's where my memory just kind of fades away, though more may have happened in the first dream.

[Anyway, I woke up, and worked at remembering the dream, but was feeling sick, and didn't have anything to write it down at, so I just kept thinking about it and trying to remember it, and falling asleep while I did so.]

Soon I was trying to remember the dream within a dream, but within the dream little bits and pieces kept changing, and soon I find I either was, or was travelling with the Doctor, and was trying to keep things happening the way they were supposed to, while the timeline kept changing around me. Amy Pond was my companion.

[Soon I woke from that dream, and found myself trying to remember the original dream, and the remembering the dream dream (which obviously almost nothing stuck around from), but still had no way to remember it, and drifted off into sleep again.]

This time I found myself arriving at some sort of science fiction-related event, somewhere in California, and somehow I had managed to fly out for this massively cool thing, even though I was only going to be able to be here for the single evening. And things are just about to start, and I am trying to ask about getting a ticket. And for some reason it would be really helpful to have these odd goggle-like things, but they are expensive, and I cannot afford to buy one.

But there is a lady there who has a few pairs, and is considering renting them out as a sort of business, and I explain to her that I could really use a pair, since I am only going to be here for the single night, and she says I would need to have my ticket, first. I need to speak to Someguy. There was a name there, but I sure can't remember who it was. Anyway, he had just walked away, and I try to follow him to ask about the ticket, but he's climbed up into almost a sort of DJ booth, and I am calling out to him, but with my voice he can't hear me, and doesn't want to speak to anybody, anyway.

The event has started now, and I am already missing it, and I'm ticked off and annoyed, and mad enough that I am ready to just stomp out. But then I realize I am in California, and actually, though I thought it was Los Angeles, it turns out to be in San Diego, and I suddenly think I could call Bynner and arrange to meet him somewhere for a meal (maybe In and Out) before I have to fly back in the morning, which would be kind of neat.
    3. The Angels of Theater

      by , 02-24-2015 at 08:12 PM
07-18-2014 -- Again, earlier parts are missing, but I drifted off thinking about the first dream (here) of the night, and leads into thinking about and still trying to remember the details of the first dream in the new dream. I find myself sitting in on a kind of a college level class meeting taking place in the Marshall cafeteria / stage area. I am sitting here, trying to write down bits about the odd Buffy dream, my feet propped up on a chair or something, while somebody is lecturing and showing slides on one of the old style overhead projectors.

Problem is, people keep complaining about only seeing parts of the slides, and seem kind of grumpy about it, and once I start really paying attention I realize that I was leaning with either my arm or my propped up legs blocking the light that shines through the acetate sheet to shoot it onto the screen. I didn't even realize. I'm hastily moving out of the way, as people complain about me and wonder why (and how) I'm here. Anyway, there is a discussion of some sort of war going on or something, and these people seem to be involved. And yet, it halfway seems to be not so much a war, as a theatrical performance.

Many of them are wearing large, strong golden or silver armor, mighty warriors, yet as they get into the parts they are playing and the acting they are doing, they can't seem to be able to help but change out the armor for themed dancing outfits. As I look, I notice that a few of them have large white wings on their backs, and I realize that they are all angels, though whether good angels or fallen angels, or some other kind, I can't really tell. Eventually I kind of come to the conclusion that they are a third kind of angel, probably somewhat neutral, and really, really into theater!

These are impressive beings. The men are huge and handsome, the women are of varying sizes and shapes, but they are utterly gorgeous. They are all immensely powerful, and their wings are only present if they wish them to be, so most keep them hidden away unless they need them. The thing is, while singing and dancing and performing in what seems to be the musical they are putting on, the ladies are dressed up in fairly revealing and remarkably sexy costumes, and it is hard to keep my eyes off of them. Especially when one is in a very short and flaring skirt, twirling around on the stage, and I am standing on the ground, right below, looking up a mouthwatering pair of legs to an incredible backside and a pair of sexy panties. I keep having to wrench my eyes away. Especially as the dancing seems to stoke the libido of the angels, and here and there, one of them will pull another just off-stage, and start having sex, out of sight of where the audience will be, but in plain view of the other actors, and the guy who doesn't belong.

Soon somebody walks up to me with a gold pocket watch, and tries to hypnotize me, and is shocked when he fails. The leader starts to explain that is why I have been brought here ... I am a powerful being, with a very strong mind. I am about to contradict him, thinking that I am nothing special, and they may not have had much contact with humans, as only a few people can hypnotize well, and only a small portion of the population are susceptible to it. But then I realize ... these aren't humans, these are angels. They may be able to hypnotize much better, and humans might be much weaker against them. I cannot say with any certainty that my mind is not much stronger than usual against them.

It is about this time that I also realize I am not in my version of the Marshall cafeteria, but I have been moved to a parallel reality version that the angels inhabit. The leader has brought me here because my powerful mind and resistance may be of much benefit to them, and he plans to train me up in some of their numbers, and have me fighting with them and dancing with them, and realizing my mind's strength, all of the female angels are clambering to dance with me. Then I start realizing that means I am going to be having sex with all these absolutely stunning creatures, which just blows my mind. They are all different heights, weights, builds, yet they are all absolutely magnificent!
    4. Dream Bits: Friendly Sharks and the White Queen at the Mall

      by , 02-21-2015 at 07:11 PM
02-21-2015 -- I am in the hallway in front of my bedroom at Rosemary's house, except my room is the first on the right side of the hall, instead of the left, and the hall is running E/W rather than N/S (I think.) The room is a disaster, with tons of papers and junk on the floor, and there is so much of it that a lot of it has slipped into the hallway, and I know this is going to really tick Rosemary off. So I get to work, grabbing and shoving all the stuff in the hallway into the room, then shut the door. It takes me about 2 minutes, and I am somehow feeling really proud of myself, so I decide to go tell Rosemary.

I wander down the hall and walked past the kitchen and step down the two small steps leading into the living room. (No idea where this home layout comes from, by the way.) But when I get to the living room, I find that Rosemary/Bonnie (it is now a cross between the two) has got some sort of clown alley-type meeting going on. I duck out of the way and head back to my room, but as I get there, I discover we have relatives visiting, and they are poking all around the house. They go to open the door to my room, and I am trying to stop them as I don't want them to see the mess, but I find myself looking into a different, clean room. I pull the door shut and open it again, just long enough to glimpse the mess in my room. I shut it a third time and open it, to find myself looking in at one of the rooms that usually have two or three of the kids from other landlord dreams sleeping in them, and just kind of tilt my head in confusion. Seems each time the door is open, it leads to a different room.

02-20-2015 -- Vague memories of driving and chasing scenes, but can't remember any actual details, then I find myself in a huge pool or aquarium. There is a big red fish here, probably about five feet long, six inches wide, and about 10 or 12 inches deep. It's a vivid red, and looks quite gorgeous, but unfortunately is swallowed whole by perhaps a 12 foot long shark, that, after it eats the big red fish, seems to no longer be hungry, and wants to make friends with people. We are rather iffy about trusting it at all ... after all, what if it gets hungry again?

So this big shark is swimming around, and it can't talk, but it kind of nudges us like a dog that wants to be petted might. Meanwhile there is a sort of small city here, currently sitting on top of the water with a sort of a fish-like man (greenish-gray skin, gills, scales, but man-shaped) who is glaring at us. He kind of blames us for the shark being around, as if we brought it here, and keeps trying to make his city sink under water, so we can't enter it and look around, because he's mad about the shark. Not too detailed, at least that I can remember, but sort of neat.

02-20-2015 -- I'm having some sort of interaction with KPSB's family, possibly originally at their home, but we very soon are at the Buena Park Mall. We're just wandering around, shopping, when I spot Kevin's sister, L, who seems to be talking with what looks like Emma Frost, the White Queen. I don't trust the evil woman, and worry she is corrupting L, so I am hovering near, trying to listen in on what they are saying. Emma is in one of her usual scandalous outfits, so I'm also rather enjoying the view. Unfortunately, they are starting to notice my attention, and begin to move away, so I try to turn invisible, so I can keep watching. It actually works fairly well this time.

We're probably pretty close to Longs at this point, and they start walking toward Sears, then branch off to one of the main mall exits, and I try to stay close, but as I burst out the doors into the parking lot, they are nowhere in sight, and I realize they have gotten away, and I still have no idea what they were planning. Something about a little kid approaching me and hugging my leg or something, then I step back inside. It is evening, but not too late, and only 6 or 7, so still a couple of hours before the mall closes. There are dozens and dozens of booths set up selling things for the holiday, as well as the stores, but for some reason, they are all starting to pack up the goods and tear down the booths, and with a couple of hours left before closing, it just doesn't make sense to me ... but oh well.

I start walking toward May Company, and glance into Waldenbooks as I pass, but today I have no interest in stepping inside. As I am about to step through the doors into May Company, I find myself facing a Chinese dragon. Not a huge, mythical animal, but the parade costume thing. I try to squeeze to the side and slip past it, but one of the people in the large head (which has about six people in a sort of semi-circle carrying it) calls out to me, and turns out to be an attractive Chinese girl I know. (Actually, I don't think I know any Chinese girls, oh well.)

She's asking me something about what I'm doing, and it in some way brings up the topic of balloons, and I mention that I can twist balloons. They don't believe me, so I start looking around. Either part of the dragon or separate, there are some uninflated balloons and things around, and I keep picking up several looking for one I can blow up and twist to prove myself. Unfortunately most are broken, and the few that are not are old and weak, and as soon as I try to blow them up, they break. Then if I can find a whole one, I know just how hard they are to blow up without a pump. Then I find one that is already blown up, and I figure I can demonstrate with it, but it is completely filled up, so there is no room for the air to go anywhere as I twist it, which makes it even harder to deal with. Still, I manage a couple of twists and turn to show them, just to find the dragon and all it's carriers have walked off. Oh well. I walk into May Company, and wake up before I reach the other end of the store.
    5. The Adventurers Club and the Shopping Mall

      by , 07-02-2014 at 04:19 AM
06-24-2014 -- Playing Runescape in the usual Port Phasmatys area, teleporting with the ecto-vial, and farming herbs and other crops, then suddenly find I am driving in what seems like the flower tract (between Dale and Stanton, over by Boisseranc) with an unidentified friend. Seems like a cross between Joe (GK forum), Calvin D. and Benny C. I am sitting in the car, trying to pour a small bit of water out of what seems to be a cross between a neti pot and a remote control, but the water keeps pouring out of the wrong place, and it seems the thing is badly cracked. I'm trying to find some way to fix it, but it is no good, and I am probably going to have to throw it out.

The other person gets back to the car, and starts to swirl around liquid in a sort of test tube, and I'm like "Does this remind you of anyone?" We both grin and call out "Maddie!" Somehow things smoothly shift to where I am now standing in the Adventurers Club (where I just arrived) and there is a show going on. I am not surprised for a second, but then remember they closed the place down about five years ago. But then I recall a recent article in the paper about them bringing it back, so my surprise fades.

I come across Bonnie C. talking to some curly-haired woman, and I overhear something about myself and Rob from Muskogee, and I ask "What about Rob from Muskogee?" Bonnie starts to explain that because of some sort of rumors that were flying around the club, Robert thinks I hate him, and may not come around anymore, when of course I actually think he is quite a decent guy. There is a library show starting, and Sheila (as Pam) is waving people into the library. I think I see Tim, Karl, and possibly Graham helping her. There are also some new performers, and they are all dressed in white robes and performing the actual show, and I start to worry that they aren't really bringing back the club, but just using the people and costumes to introduce something new into the same location.

Bonnie goes into the show, but I stay out in the main salon, and something just doesn't seem right. I wonder if I am dreaming, and try to stretch my fingers, but it doesn't work, and I am almost able to convince myself I am not dreaming when I realize that my fingers are all twisted and I can't straighten them, and that several of them stop after one segment or two. Sure looks like dreaming to me. I try to fly, and manage to slightly hover ... yup ... it's a dream! I wonder if Anne is around? The show has ended, and people are streaming out. I see the red-haired Canadian maid, but no Bonnie. I really want to talk to her about these rumors, and where they seem to come from, but when I check in the library, she isn't there, either. I may have to go looking for her.

I head out the entrance, and find that it leads out into a large shopping mall, and I see no sign of her anywhere. So I step back into the revolving door and focus on using my dream powers, and as I step out, I force it to put me out near Bonnie. I'm disappointed when I don't see her anywhere, but wait, there she is in the distance, walking this way, but it seems like she sees me, and heads off in another direction. I try to cut her off, but no good. I'm annoyed, but reach into my backpack and pull out my Runescape ecto-vial, and decide to use it to teleport away. However, since I am not playing he game at the moment, I am not going to be able to instantly refill it, so I am trying to pour out maybe about a third of the liquid, so I can use it a couple more times.

I find myself in a different part of the mall, near an exit, and step outside. I see a police car parked at the curb, with the name of a city police department on it, but I can't remember what the city was. I step back inside, and wonder how the vial decided where to teleport me, considering I wasn't actually in the game, but then I notice a couple of planters with strange, almost flytrap-like plants in them, and wonder if that was why. Interesting.
    6. Teaching Others to Fly in a Lucid Dream

      by , 12-24-2013 at 09:59 AM
12-19-2013 -- [Two detailed lucids today, surrounded by days of nothing even memorable. Sigh! But these two dreams were really cool!] I am in a supermarket that seems familiar, though I cannot identify the exact chain or location. There is a bit with managers and entering through turnstiles or something that seem vaguely reminiscent of other recent dreams, then soon I am wandering the aisles. Eventually I come across an aisle that has snack cakes, and among the various offerings are the Little Debbie Christmas Cakes that I enjoy. But for some reason the packs have been broken up, and the individual plastic-wrapped two packs are being offered for sale, and a few of them are a new strawberry flavor, rather than my usual preferred chocolate flavored ones. Since I don't know if they are any good, I decide to open one and eat it, to test how I like it, so I can decide if I want to buy a bunch of them or not. I figure I will just take the wrapper to the register with whatever else I decide to purchase, and pay for them all at once. I don't really like the strawberry ones that much, but I still want to get some of the chocolate.

Suddenly I find I have left the store, and I don't know why, but I am kind of worried about it. I never paid for the one I ate, and even if I go back, they are going to be mad at me, and darn it, I don't even know why I left! I find myself in an odd blend of California and Omaha that I have dreamed of before. I am on a freeway that is a cross between the 22 in California and I-680 in Omaha. I am trying to figure out exactly where I am and where the store was and get back to it, and I seem to be driving Joe L's Lexus SUV. I am just starting to turn a corner while muttering about pizza, and a nearby cop hears me and calls me over. I am worried about a ticket or something, but no, he just points to an NYPD (New York Pizza Deli) and says it is his favorite. Soon after, some rough looking guys in a beat up van (who look like they could be real trouble) are flagging me down ... to make their own recommendation! Nuts, all of them!

Soon I am back on the freeway, heading north, but the car has disappeared, and I am now flying along. Soon I am flying through a building, and some woman is attacking me, saying something about how because I am flying, I killed her husband. I think my dead mom is trying to argue with her about it. Meanwhile, I am just trying to get away from the crazy woman when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I glance back to find a ghostly angel flying above me. I think it is Louie Anderson [and it took me perhaps 45 minutes to find him on the internet to identify him ... though it turns out he is not dead in real life, like I thought], who apologizes for her, saying she doesn't really mean it, she is just upset about his death. Though I had nothing to do with Louie's death, somehow I help his wife to easily pass on to join him, and the two of them fly off to heaven.

Meanwhile, they have carried me far higher into the air than I usually manage to fly on my own, and I find myself up around maybe thirty stories in the air, and am flying back toward the ground. I am worried about hitting the power lines and such, which are everywhere, and almost forming a net waiting for me, but the positive aspects of the dream hold, and I easily sail through them without getting caught up, until I am back at a level I am comfortable with, 20 to 30 feet in the air. I am now getting fairly close to where I think the store is, but I find myself flying through the middle of a generic shopping mall (not one of the specific ones I often dream of). I am now flying south through this mall, heading for an exit, but there are a couple of sisters (at least I assume they are sisters, as they look quite similar.) They are large women, bulky, but not seriously fat. They remind me of a cross between one of my relatives and a balloon artist named Patricia Bunnell. They are kind of chasing me and trying to catch me for my daring to be different and unique, and having the ability to fly.

I speed up and try to fly to the exit, but they sense what I am doing. "He's trying to escape," they scream, and rush to the doors ahead of me, blocking them off so I can't get through. So I turn around and start to fly in the opposite direction, figuring I will lose them, and find another set of doors to exit out of. Problem is, others start to chase me, more out of interest than the anger the two women were showing. One guy and his wife are close, and he manages to grab my leg even though I am right up by the ceiling, because he is 9 or 10 feet tall, with long arms. Darn it! I keep trying to slip his grasp and fly away, and as they hold on to me, they both figure out how to fly, and are soon able to fly on their own. "How is this possible?" she asks. "It's a dream," I reply. "We're all dreaming?" I don't want to be rude and tell her she is probably only a figment of my imagination, so I hedge and say "I only know that I am dreaming." "Well, how did you get so smart about dreams?" And I start to explain to her how I started making lists of my dreams back in high school, and by now have thousands of dreams written down to learn from. I also hint at the fact that since I know I am dreaming, I might find somebody to have some fun with.

By this point, right as I am considering landing and trying to lose myself in the crowd, we exit through some doors on the west side of the mall, and the couple let go of me, and decide to fly off on their own to their own adventure. I'm pleased to find I am finally free, and am about to soar off and resume trying to find the grocery store, when suddenly somebody else latches on to me. I find it is a tall, attractive, rather Nordic blonde with a thick Nordic accent. "How?" she demands of me, as we drift through the air. I start explaining about knowing you are dreaming as I wrap my arms around her. I tell her she is warm and safe and protected. I won't let anything happen to her. I steal a line from Douglas Adams and explain that flying is really quite simple ... you just have to throw yourself at the ground, and miss. But I stress it's the bit about missing that is important, because otherwise it can be kind of painful. I wrap my arms further around her as she chuckles, very close to feeling her up as I continue this wonderful new technique of seduction by teaching flying.
    7. Lucid: Do You Really Want to Mess with Me in My Own Dream?

      by , 12-24-2013 at 09:48 AM
12-19-2013 -- [Sleeping poorly, kept waking up, but I think eventually I was only dreaming I was waking up. Weird stuff. Lucid. Sex, rape, and violence ahead.] I am driving along in Joe's SUV when somehow the power steering goes out, but it is really strange and kind of intermittent. I think I am trying to do some sort of mystery shop or something, though I am not really sure. Anyway the steering is almost impossible at one slow speed, and then works fine at another speed just slightly slower or slightly faster, and I am trying to get the perfect speed so that I can actually manage to drive the car. I think there is a tiny bit about talking to my sister (maybe), or perhaps not. The first bits are rather choppy, as again, I think I am drifting in and out of sleep. Maybe.

I find myself at a hotel, and I seem to be kind of changing out beer barrel-like bottles of soda syrup for the fountain drinks, and as part of a mystery shop am somehow taking one of the large barrels and trying to load it into the bike with a basket that the car has turned in to. I manage to get it into the basket, and am trying to get the bike lined up so that I can try to drive out of here, when a couple of crazy (but kind of attractive) Oriental women come driving up in their car. I am somehow several yards away from my bike, all of a sudden, walking toward it, when they start to back up right into where the bike is sitting. I'm calling out "No!" and they are winking and smirking at me, making sure that I know that they know exactly what they are doing. They crush and mangle the bike between their car and the wall, and I am suddenly furious. Thing is, I know I am dreaming, but I am furious that they are intentionally messing with me.

      Spoiler for sex and rape:

I am just about done anyway, when this rough looking character seems to want to come to their aid. I can tell that he is a thief, so I decide to get a little more revenge by letting him know that the two women (who are staying in the hotel) have something very valuable in their suite. So he leaves them and starts upstairs, to break into the suite. Meanwhile I just fly up the side of the building, sneak in the window, and grab whatever the valuable is, not only stealing it, but framing the thief in the process. Mess with me in my dream, will you? I'm casually making my way out the window when the thief triggers an alarm or something, and he comes rushing to the window. He throws himself out, using some kind of harness or parachute to slow his descent, and as he leaps, he spots me and realizes he has been set up.

I have no harness, parachute or gadgets, but I don't need any ... its my dream! I fly down several stories, and fly into a parking garage, mostly under control, just slightly wild, and almost knock over a couple walking through the garage. I am not 100% sure, but they look like they are probably Rose and Mickey from Doctor Who. Meanwhile, police cars are screaming into the area to check on the alarm, and Rose and Mickey realize they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. They duck behind a car as a police car drives by, swinging it's search light into the parking garage. (At this point I notice that the front of the police car is slightly crumpled, like it has been in an accident, though this fact has no affect on the dream.) I turn myself invisible before the cop can see me, but Mickey is getting more and more nervous, and suddenly makes a break for it, making himself look horribly guilty, and attracting the attention of all the police.

He is quickly caught, and he has no reason to try and protect me, so he explains about the guy who flew out of the hotel and into the parking garage, and then turned invisible. The cop is kind of skeptical, but glancing around the area, as I try to shift away from him, it seems he can catch glimpses of my movement out of the corner of his eye. He suddenly calls out to all the other police that he caught a glimpse of one of "them", someone with some sort of power who turned themselves invisible. Suddenly I am backing up from a bunch of cops reaching out and grabbing for my invisible figure in a scene very reminiscent of Harry Potter backing away from Filch and Snape in the first movie. Suddenly there are six or seven cops, male and female, plain-clothes and in uniform, all chasing me. They can't see me, except a brief flicker in the corner of the eye, but that's enough to keep them crowding ever closer. A couple of them are blindfolded, to enhance their other senses, and one of them seems to be a strange whip-creature, flailing long, thin tentacles at me, trying to score a touch which I somehow know might poison me, and things are getting tighter and tighter.

I make a break for it, and try to fly out of the structure, but somehow they have been getting ready for me, and there are strong, but thin, nearly invisible wires strung everywhere that I trigger and have to punch my way through to get out of the parking garage, and when I do, that drops a strong, heavy net on me. By this time, I have had enough. I turn visible as I tear apart the net, and am soon surrounded by the cops. I start to warn them off. "This is a dream. It is my dream. I am all-powerful in it." I point to one guy. "Your pants are going to fall!" Suddenly his pants are around his ankles. I point at another. "You're about to trip." He flops over backward onto his butt. "Sorry for this!" I point at another one and transform him into some sort of furry animal, perhaps a weasel. I can clearly remember another lucid dream I once had, where it was starting to turn into a nightmare (can be read here) and explain to the cops that I could conjure up a full-blown nuke and blow the entire dreamscape to kingdom come. "Do you really want to mess with me?!?" Most of the cops start backing off, but one big black cop (when I wrote the dream down, I knew specifically who he looked like, but didn't write it down, and now it is gone) is stupidly brave or an absolute idiot, and grabs me, so I tell him he is going to fall down and his stomach is going to explode. The others are seriously backing off now, but not quick enough to avoid being lightly coated with bits of blood and skin as his belly explodes over everyone.

I start to fly off, but everybody who has been in the area is now convinced I am a god, and I am surrounded by people calling out for me to do things for them. Some are nothing more than greedy, selfish users who just want wealth and valuables, but many others are desperate, homeless, or horribly sick or injured. The ones who are truly in need, I feel for, but I am not god, I am just dreaming. I am only limited by what I can conceive of, but the mass of people calling out for help are large enough that it is more than I can conceive of. I land in a convertible next to a slim, attractive blonde woman, and I pull aside her top and start playing with her nipples, but neither of us are really into it. I just can't stop thinking about all these hurting people.

Meanwhile, I spot another thin woman who is not so attractive, and is very hillbilly-ish. She seems to be a cross between the wife of the farmer who gets turned into the 'Edgar suit' in the first Men in Black movie and Cletus's wife on the Simpsons, and she is calling out for help for her husband, who cannot leave their car. I glance over at him, and he has a cheap mechanical heart made from a gallon milk jug, sitting in an almost non-existent torso, and is obviously in bad shape. This is at least somewhat beyond me, but I lay hands on him and start to pray for him, hoping I have enough faith to do some good. Thankfully new skin starts to grow around his torso, and I seem to have managed to bring forth some serious healing for him. One of their kids is a teenage daughter who no longer believes in anything at all, and I am trying to figure out some way to help her, but that one is going to take some thinking. They have a slightly younger son who is a little pudgy, and reminds me a bit of Pugsley from the Addams Family, who is working on some sort of school assignment, and is trying to make either a sword or a musical instrument (which it is changes moment to moment) from a bit of scrap, and I move over to him to start doing something.

The mom is trying to stop me, not wanting me to do it for him, as she wants him to get whatever grade he earns, and learn from the experiment. Instead she calls out for me to just make him some candy or something. But she doesn't realize what I am doing. I am not making whatever it is for him, I am just changing the scrap he is working with into a very fine and valuable piece of lumber so that if he does fine enough work with it, the finished product may be worth a lot of money. Leaving him to do the work, but greatly increasing the potential value of that work. As soon as I finish that, I wave my hand and the candy the mother asked for rains down on both children.
    8. Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the Church Balcony

      by , 12-24-2013 at 09:33 AM
11-24-2013 -- [First lengthy, detailed dream I have had in several days.] Am in a church which is a cross between Pine Castle UMC (the balcony above the narthex) and Buena Park First Church of the Nazarene (the physical location and the rest of the building layout.) I seem to be Harry Potter, and it is dark and quite late at night. There are no lights, but I am sitting on the floor of the balcony watching a small television that seems to somehow be showing one of the later Harry Potter movies or something, and I am learning secrets that will eventually let me beat Voldemort. Problem is, I hear angry muttering, and when I peer over the balcony, I can see Voldemort down by the pulpit. He is watching the same thing on a much larger screen, and is getting more and more angry about what he is seeing.

At this point I am a very young Harry Potter, and I know Voldemort could probably destroy me easily, and he can see the flickering light of the television I am watching from where he is, even if he can't see me. I somehow know that as he gets angrier, he will end up destroying me and the balcony. But then I realize, he can't see me, he can't hear me, and there are no lights anywhere except the slight flicker from the tv screens, if I am slow and quiet, I can open up one of the doors to the stairs, climb down into the narthex, then exit out one of the double glass doors on the side, and I should be able to run away without being seen. Perhaps I can put enough distance between us that I should be able to hide for a while.

I follow my plan, and make it out the doors, expecting an explosion all the while, but I manage to get outside before anything happens. I run along the side of Shamlin Hall, then reach the brick fence and start to climb it. Oddly, unlike all the past dreams I have had about climbing these fences, and into these yards, there are no big dogs chasing at me. As soon as I think this, a gray dog comes running up, but it is a little smaller than usual, and isn't barking nearly so much. I hold out a hand for it to sniff, then pick it up, and seem to have made a friend of it, which is a nice change. [I have dreamed about climbing fences in the area and cutting through or hiding in yards through here many times, but this time is a lot smoother than usual.]

I am cutting across to reach Orangethorpe as usual, but I soon find myself in the middle of a sort of park with a couple of softball fields, and some people are playing. I have no intention of joining in, but I do pass through the area, avoiding both the kids and adults who are playing. Oddly, I run into Captain Jack (character from Doctor Who), dressed as a ball player, and flirting with everyone around him, whether male, female, or child.

I continue on, and soon find myself standing on Orangethorpe, at a cross between a sort of bus stop and a food truck, and I run into some of the Scoobie Gang. Giles is here, though he almost immediately takes off looking for help. I think Buffy is on patrol. But Willow is here, and is seriously injured. She has a badly mangled arm that will probably never be whole again, unless I do something. I pick her up in my arms, and twist her bad arm in a way that it really shouldn't bend, but then I start pouring healing magic into it, and it starts to heal and straighten in a remarkable way. With some time to rest, she is going to end up being just fine. I leave her with her friends, and wander off into the night, worn and exhausted.

I am weak and tired, I have exhausted all my magic in healing Willow, and I am just stumbling through the parking lot of a somewhat worn apartment complex. There is a dirty blonde, probably in her mid-30s, sleeping in her car in the parking lot. She is poor, dirty, not in the best shape, and she is kind of propositioning me. I guess in this dream the power Voldemort knows not is probably sex, rather than love, because I decide to have sex with her, knowing that will recharge my core. I climb into the car, and have sex with her, though the dream kind of skips past that. I am feeling a bit better, and have kind of partly recharged, when I get the odd feeling we are being watched.

We are parked next to a sort of a repair truck ... the kind that might be a real repair truck, or might be something that the FBI is using to spy on people. I am trying to stare into this truck, somehow thinking it is where they are spying on us from, when I hear someone opening up the passenger side door of the car, and I am not able to react fast enough as the door is torn open, I am pulled out, and am beaten and knocked unconscious. When I come to, I am being dragged through a parking lot by a guy in fatigues, as he also pulls along the dirty blonde I was with. Problem is, though he knocked me out, and my head hurts, I did finish 'recharging' my core, first. He doesn't even know what is happening at first, as I morph my body to look like his, then morph his to look like me. After that, I hit him with a kind of an imperious, so he won't be able to say anything. I am still dizzy from being knocked out, and he is dizzy from the mind control, so we're kind of stumbling along keeping each other upright.

We're in a sort of large junk yard, with scrap all around us, and I am guessing he and his people have made their base here. Another soldier dressed in fatigues comes up, and seems to think he has the right to beat up on the other guy (since he looks like me and I him) and he starts to attack him, but I turn around and kill him, then stick him through a narrow hole in the fence that leads to a sort of truck yard, and I hope he won't be found until after I find my way out of here. We keep staggering through the junk yard, and we eventually find our way back to Orangethorpe. By this time I am nearly back to 100%. I let the girl go, then I knock out the soldier who had originally knocked me out, and finally I morph into an entirely new disguise so hopefully nobody can recognize me.

I make my way back to the food truck (which is slowly changing into a couple of tents containing some sort of buffet at what is seeming to be turning into a college campus) looking for any of the Scoobies, as well as anybody who may be spying on them for Voldemort (how I figure I must have been captured), and ready to thrash any soldiers I might find watching them, while I hope my disguise is good enough if Voldy himself should come by.
    9. Dream Bits: Car Thefts, Walking Through Walls, Paranoid Realities and The Custody Suit

      by , 11-16-2013 at 08:34 AM
11-01-2013 -- Dale is just starting to arrive for a vacation ... or perhaps he is just about to leave. It's a dream ... who knows for sure. I am looking into a hotel room somewhere down around Disney, and it turns out to be the hotel from the dream The Affair and the Time Travelers Hotel, though this time it does not involve any time travel. I am looking for a cheap room, though I have no idea how I ever might pay for it. Regardless, when they quote a price that is far too high, I start considering maybe driving over to the Record Parkside Inn (a hotel in Kissimmee that I stayed at for a few days back in June or July) and trying to get a room there.

Somehow I am rolling around in the hotel lobby in an odd cross between a wheelchair and a rocking chair that I just found sitting in the lobby, though it is slightly messed up, and it can only go backward, not forward, which means I am rolling the thing around without being able to see very well just where I am going. I move out into the parking lot, looking for my car. I can't remember if I was driving the Jimmy (my car) or the Lexus (Joe L's car), but whichever one I was in, neither one is anywhere in the parking lot, which means I have had another freaking car stolen! [Never in real life, but all the time in my dreams.]

The problem is, I couldn't lock the doors, but I had my notebook computer and a musical keyboard in the front seat, and even worse than losing the car (since they always seem to be returned eventually, always in a little worse shape than when they were stolen) is losing my computer. I go back into the lobby long enough to try and drop off the wheel/rocking chair, but the problem is as I try to get out of it, the thing falls to pieces. One of the maids is kind of grumbling about it, but waves me off.

I head back out to the parking lot to look around a little more and make sure somebody didn't just move it to the side or something, and as I am looking around, I am approached by a very tall blonde woman (at least 6'6", maybe closer to 7') who greets me by name and seems to know me, though I don't recognize her, and she seems to be somebody I would remember. She says I helped her by giving her a tour a couple of years ago or something. (Since the hotel was in a time travel dream, who knows, maybe it is a couple of years from now.) Anyway, she asks me how I am doing, and I start ranting and raving about how people are always stealing my car.

11-01-2013 -- I am in the front bathroom in the Hickory house, and am filling the sink with water. I add some soap, then start throwing some clothes in, and it seems I am trying to use the sink for clothes washing or something, but it is too small, and it is just about to overflow. So I start grabbing wet clothes from the sink, and start throwing them into the tub (which is also filled) instead. Problem is, the water is still running, and the sink is about to overflow, and I can't get it to drain, either. Especially since the drain seems to be blocked by bits of lego and stuff. Then I discover I wasn't paying enough attention, and along with clothes I was also throwing in stuff like video tapes and books and comics and stuff, none of which is likely to be improved by being dipped in hot, soapy water. I am trying to get the stuff out, hopefully without ruining it all!

Soon I find myself standing outside the house (which almost instantly turns into a hotel) talking with my mom. She plans to enter the hotel, but we're a good distance away from the door, so I am commenting on how she is going to have to walk a good ways. She says that she and the others have learned to cheat, and as I stand there and try to figure out just what she means, she turns around and just walks right through the wall as if it wasn't there. I am already shocked, but then my mind is fully blown as a group of five or six women, probably ranging between thirty and fifty, walk up. They are all gorgeous, excellent bodies, large breast, completely nude ... and they must be the 'others' my mom was referring to, because they walk right through the wall without a hesitation. I decide on the instant that if they can all cheat, so can I. I turn and try to walk through the wall. I can kind of do it, but obviously I have not practiced, as I get stuck halfway through, and have to kind of push myself the rest of the way. Then I go off looking for the lovely women. Short, but fun.

11-02-2013 -- [This may have been anything between 1 and 3 dreams that I kept fading in and out of when I wasn't sleeping well. Very disjointed, and not very detailed.] Very Buffy-ish feeling, though I cannot specifically recall any characters from the show, just the sort of atmosphere. I am in a bedroom somewhere, and I feel like I am being watched. I turn my head, and it is like I can almost see something out of the corner of my eye, but when I look directly at it, all I see is a small squiggle on the wall. I reach out to touch it, and something just feels wrong, but if I close my eyes and touch the spot, there is something large there. I give it a solid tug, and something large and black (and previously invisible) somehow thuds to the ground. It seems to be a weird sort of camera, and between the not being able to see it, and the odd feeling to the whole dream, it is seeming very other worldly, very "They Live". I find myself awaking (or possibly false awaking) and breathing heavily, not sure if I am really waking up, or being somehow forced back into not being able to see the controlling stuff that is really there. VERY freaky.

11-02-2013 -- I am at the Disneyland Hotel in the bar that used to be Sargeant Preston's, but is now just a generic bar, and mom and BC are here with me. We are involved in a court case (which seems to be being judged here in the bar) and Anne is trying to take C away from B. Mom is helping us with the case, and so we offer to buy her a drink, but she turns it down. She may want to keep a clear head, which would, admittedly, make a lot of sense. B has mentioned how Anne has multiple personality disorder [wouldn't that explain a lot?!?], and we are trying to trigger a switch to her very psychotic personality, because if the court saw that, there is no chance that they would ever award Anne custody.

Eventually we win the case, but even after it is all over with, mom won't allow us to buy her a drink. Meanwhile, we run into a reporter who is doing a report on the whole case, and is quoting a Bible verse about Paul, and saying it is called the second amendment. I tell him the Bible doesn't have amendments, and then proceed to explain how he is also taking the verse out of context and twisting its meaning, and he eventually stomps off in a huff.

Soon B takes C home, and I start wandering around the hotel, circling the main building. For some reason my pants are falling down, and I have my underwear on top of my pants instead of underneath, so it is really a problem. I am kind of hiding behind a large electrical transformer and trying to pull my pants up before I start grabbing bits of metal and wire and electrical parts, and for some reason start swallowing them. I find myself in a cross between a laundry room and a sort of mobile home park decked out with lots of picnic tables, and I soon find myself trying to bring back up all the crud that I swallowed without either becoming terribly sick or tearing up my innards, and find myself wondering why I was stupid enough to start swallowing all the stuff, anyway.
    10. The Little Kid and the Car Bomb

      by , 11-13-2013 at 07:58 PM
11-13-2013 -- [Doing all the stuff that is supposed to lead to better dream recall, and things are only getting worse. Only one dream on the 11th, none on the 12th, and then only one, choppy and all over the place on the 13th. I just don't get my body. Oh well.] I think it is Halloween. I am at a house somewhere that I cannot specifically equate with any that I have ever lived in or recognize. I seem to be kind of visiting. The 'family' seems to be a blend of various people I know who, several do not know each other.

I think I am trying to get close to V or LR, but they are all over the place. There seem to be trick-or-treaters around, though they are not wearing costumes. At some point I see a small boy (probably 4 or 5) outside with short-but-extremely-curly red hair, but he is just wandering around. There is a sort of a wall of junk, and another kid seems to be crawling around that, but there is something wrong with him, and he is piling up books around him. (That's not the part that is wrong.) One of the young women says they have had a vision or something of him planting a bomb, and we have to go out and check on it.

We do find the bomb, which is this strange contraption that looks almost like a figure, sitting in a car about the right size to hold Barbies or action figures, with a small yellow teddy bear as a driver. They have asked me to take care of the bomb, and I am really nervous about it, and am afraid I am going to blow myself up or that the kid will see me, and trigger the bomb. So to avoid being seen by the kid too early, I have to do everything by mind power. I concentrate on the car, and it moves (kind of jerkily) about a foot, to where I have a better view of it, then I switch places of the bear and the device (for what reason, I don't know), and finally I launch the toy car through the air at high speed (think Turbo Boost on Knightrider) about 30 feet through the air and land it in a lake near the house, at which point it explodes, but is far enough away it does no harm.

The little kid who caused this is having a melt-down, and is screaming and crying about how whatever evil that was controlling him is going to be so mad at him, and I gather him in my arms and hug him and comfort him, and tell him that we'll try to protect him, and things will be OK, and all the women in the house are like "Aaaaaawwwwwww," and begin to appreciate me more. We all move back into the house, and soon the mom of the family gets home, and it turns out to be CL. This is the first time I have dreamed of her, and she is rather beautiful.

Seems I am staying the night here, and I end up sleeping in a bed for a bit, then get up and start to take a shower, but forget to completely shut or lock the bathroom door, and at one point the door opens, and I hope one of the ladies is going to end up joining me in the shower, but nobody does. Eventually we end up talking in the living room for a while, and CL ends up revealing she has just done a clown gig or something (though afaik she has never been a clown in real life). We're discussing this in the living room, and she pops to the kitchen to get something for a few moments, and somehow is on a strange sort of spring-like fold-up thing that extends far enough to reach the kitchen, but is almost at its maximum length at that point. I ask about it, and they explain it has something to do with measuring distance. Whatever.

She is wearing a robe, and seemingly only a robe, and at one point it slips open a bit, and I catch a nice glimpse of a very nice boob that is about as wonderful as I imagined, though that is the extent of the nudity in the dream. Anyway, we are soon in the side yard, walking down a hill to a sort of picnic setting with lots of other relatives, talking about different kinds of food and things. [Nothing too interesting in the whole thing, except for the short bit with the bomb in the toy car.]
    11. The Sensors and the Goddess

      by , 11-07-2013 at 08:23 PM
10-21-2013 -- Walking down Hickory between my house and Dave's. It feels late at night and dark, and there is a strong feeling of something going on, and I probably don't belong here. As I am walking by Dave's house, Don comes out long enough to warn me I shouldn't be on the street, but he isn't going to try and stop me.

Somehow I am looking for these odd sort of, well, sensors for lack of any better word. There are one or two per house, some in the ground in the flower beds, others in the middle of the shrubbery. One is actually in the engine of a car that has the hood open and is being worked on. They are roughly square, perhaps six inches long per side, perhaps about two inches thick, black, around a blue circle that is nearly large enough to touch the edges.

As I get near enough to register them (and they to register me) there is a flash of blue light, and their power is somehow released to me. No idea what the power is or what it does, however. I continue down the street, and somewhere between Jenny's house and the one next to it (the fenced yard ... oddly, I think George Takei lives there) I feel like I am missing one of them. Can't find it, can't sense it, but how close the others have been to one another, I'm sure there should be another one, so I am looking for it pretty steadily.

Eventually I move on, reaching the last two houses on the street. The one where the little kids used to live is no problem, but the corner house has a feel of unfriendly people, the ones who always come out to yell at us if we mess around on their property. Sure enough, when I start poking around the bushes surrounding the house, the owner comes out to scream at me. Oddly, when I explain what I am doing, he calms right down, accepts what I tell him, and seems to have no more problem with me.

I wander around the corner, past the alley, and am soon checking the side yard of the house that has the big dogs, then return to George's house to continue looking for that missing sensor, and soon am at the end of the block again. I am actually standing in the edge of the street, but almost across the street at the church. By this point it is daytime, and there are some kids playing ball in the street, right about at the corner of Hickory and Holly. But strangely, they aren't playing with a ball, but are throwing around what looks like a two liter of soda, quite possibly orange Fanta.

Meanwhile, I find I am standing with and receiving instructions from, an attractive woman who is a sort of mentor to me, and probably a goddess. She is helping me figure out what I am doing in regards to these sensors and their powers. But while we are standing there, some of the kids' bottles of soda come rolling up to us. I pick one up and throw it back to them like a football, and manage perfect throws, as does the goddess, when I gesture for her to throw back another one. Meanwhile a third has bounced off my leg and is rolling away toward Dale, until I wave my hand at it, and it floats into the air and starts back toward me. I wave toward the playing kids, and it flies off in their direction as I find myself with a new dream power.
    12. Stopping a Time Traveling Killer and Harry Potter in the Heroes World

      by , 10-28-2013 at 02:41 AM
10-27-2013 -- Not quite sure where I am, as the earliest part of the dream is fuzzy. Might be at the house on Hickory, might be at the Buena Park Mall. Running around, chasing and being chased in the earliest bits. Eventually come across a halfway cute, but young lady (15-16 I'd guess) who seems to be trying to get together with Larry, a roommate I had at the Amidon house. They are in love, and determined to stay so, but her father (who looks like the evil Mexican bandit from the original A-Team pilot (which I watched on Netflix the other day)) seems to intensely dislike the guy, and just glares at him for several seconds, then Larry just disappears into thin air.

The bandit starts bragging about rewriting time back in 1964, to cause Larry to never have even been born, and the girl is devastated. I can't believe this heartless jerk thinks he has the right to wipe out somebody's very existance just because he doesn't like him. That's just not kosher! "Well, at least you mentioned when you wiped him from existance, so I know when to go to, after I kill you, so I can fix things," I say to him, and I reach for him to kill him with a touch, but he disappears. I hear a slight pop behind me, and start to turn, just to see the bandit reaching for me, and I disappear.

We have a weird sort of chase around the mall, appearing here, disappearing there, each of us trying to catch the other, but as time goes on, we start to realize that even when we don't actually see the other person, we find ourselves disappearing if they get close enough to touch us. It seems we are not able to use our powers against each other directly. Finally, I give up, and just end up strolling through the mall, though I am still keeping an eye out for the bandit, because he will probably try to kill me in another way.

By this point the mall has changed from the Buena Park Mall to a strange dream mall I have frequently dreamed of. It has a layout very similar to the Westminster Mall, with it's three 'wings' and three anchor stores, but I always seem to refer to it as the South Coast Plaza, and it's physical location is more like the South Coast Plaza, as well. I am walking to the western end of the mall, which is where I most often seem to enter and exit this mall (odd, since the bus stops are over on the south eastern corner.) I find myself walking through the mall talking with Steve Robinson from PCUMC, while we kind of half watch Bing Crosby, who is dancing through the mall singing to people for some reason. We wander into a clothing store deep in conversation, and don't even notice Bing singing to us until he turns around and starts back out of the store. I turn to Steve and say "Was that ...?" "Yes, it was," he replies. And we call out a belated thank you to him. I decide I have had enough, and walk out the anchor store, planning to catch a bus and go home.

It's late at night, and I walk out of the mall and am heading toward what is sometimes the Sears auto center, but in this dream, there is a big pizza parlor there, lots of customers, bright lights, and a big lit up sign with a slice of pepperoni pizza on it. As I start walking, I remember my popping around, trying to avoid the bandit guy, and I think if I am able to do that, I ought to be able to teleport, so try to concentrate on teleporting myself home to Buena Park, but it doesn't work. Darn! (That's OK, I end up having a better time where I do end up in the dream.)

I walk south to the street, near the southwest corner of the property, then start walking toward the southeast corner, where the bus stop is, but as I am passing a driveway a big rig is pulling out, and half runs into me. It is trying to make a left turn, but is making it too tight, and is almost hitting a smaller truck (along the lines of an armoured car) that is trying to turn in to the same driveway, and I am just kind of riding on the front of the truck until it is past the armoured car and I can safely jump off. Then I continue along. There are a couple of guys that are hassling a lady walking toward the bus station, but they see me coming and run off. Unfortunately, she decides she is afraid of me, as well, and is running in terror, even when I call out I am not after her and don't have any desire to hurt her. She doesn't believe me, and there is nothing I can really do but ignore her.

I walk up to the bus shelter, and as I enter, I see three women standing there, one of them a slightly older, slim, attractive blonde. She looks at me with a desperate longing in her eyes and asks "Can you see me?" but as soon as she asks it, she disappears. I think back to my teleporting, and the bandit traveling through time, and assume random people are developing weird powers, kind of like on Heroes. I figure this woman is turning invisible, and doesn't seem to have any control over it. But she seemed so very afraid, so I just start talking to the air, hoping she can here me. "I'm guessing that usually nobody can see you. The funny thing is, I could, until you spoke, then I no longer was able to." The woman starts laughing almost hysterically, and the others are laughing as well. It seems I have been pranked! Too bad my teleporting is not working!

Instead I get on a bus. Things are kind of hazy for a brief moment, then I am getting off the bus again, and as I exit I look around, and I have only traveled a block from the bus stop. I didn't actually know where I was going, but it seems I am here. I am at a large apartment complex (or perhaps fancy housing estate) kitty corner from the mall, and while I have never been here before, and don't know any of the details, I know somebody has a room for me to stay at here, and I am kind of drawn to it. The area has a sort of castle-like motif to it, and I walk right into a large mansion that seems to be owned by a nice, mild fellow who looks kind of like Pat Boone, that clean cut sort of look.

We walk down a hall, and he is asking himself "Now where should we put you?" He starts to open one door and I catch a glance of a bunch of cool balloon sculptures in Qualatex's neon assortment, and some aliens made from lime green balloons, and I find myself remembering my last year at Hogwarts, and how I taught Hermione to twist figures much like that. I miss Hermione! Wouldn't it be a hoot if ... but no, I'm not that lucky. He walks me down a couple more hallways, and opens a door to a large room with a set of bunk beds in it, and a third bed off to the side. There are three guys here playing loud music. They ask me what's up, and I explain part of the dream to them (from about the point of Bing Crosby to the bus trip) and they explain that they only have one more song to reherse, then they'll shut down for the night, and I can get some sleep on the non-bunk bed. Somebody also says something about the new girl with the bushy brown hair. "Is she going to Harvard by any chance?" I ask, and a voice that sounds very familiar comes from the doorway "Well, actually, yes." I can't see her from where I am at, but I jump to my feet and turn to the door to find I'm looking at Hermione!

She calls my name (though I cannot tell if it is MY name or Harry!) and launches herself at me, crushing me in one of her patented Hermy-hugs. I just wrap my arms around her and hug her just as tight. I didn't quite realize just how much I missed her until I found her back in my arms. I find myself just standing there hugging and kissing her for about five minutes, while the guys playing music get more and more uncomfortable. Then we finally part, and she starts to lead me out of the room and over to hers. (Those were her balloons.) Guess I am going to be staying in that room after all. Hope nobody minds. Wherever we are, whatever this place is, there are a bunch of people staying here, and there are lines three or four people deep waiting to get into either of the restrooms. Hermione needs the restroom, so I just lean against a wall to wait.

I find myself looking out a large picture window, a huge sheet of glass, overlooking what seems to be a bit of a swamp. I see a swamp boat sitting in the corner with almost a sort of step ladder on it, and on top of the step ladder, Jed Clampett (Beverly Hillbillies) looking much like Granny in her rocking chair on top of the packed truck. I hear this evil cackling, and look up to see a stereotypical witch that looks like she could be straight out of the Wizard of Oz on a collision course with the air boat. So I wave my hand and teleport Jed and the boat somewhere safe, and missing him, the witch crashes into the swamp. Seems I have ticked her off, and in a flaming rage, she throws a large fire ball at me, but I wave my hand again, and cause a portal directly into hell to appear, and it sucks her fire ball and herself into it, and disappears with a pop.

I find myself really hoping Hermione gets finished with the bathroom quickly, because I'd really like the help of her mind to figure out just what is going on here!
    13. Government Threatens Super Heroes and Flying Over the TARDIS

      by , 07-20-2013 at 02:09 AM
07-16-2013 -- Somehow I am with dad in his truck, driving up and down an air field in between the planes landing. The landing strip is kind of narrow, wide enough to hold the plane body, but the wings extend out over the grass on either side, and it is on that grass strip that we are driving, hence the need to do it in between planes. There are a couple planes that are missing the runway and crashing and burning, and oddly, a plane with the Adobe logo on the tail which is flying around trying to spy on people who might be pirating Adobe products.

Soon I find myself at home with mom. There is a paper kite that was designed and printed out in Illustrator lying on the ground, and we are somehow printing out these odd little plastic ID labels directly from the printer. Very strange stuff.

I have a friend (or perhaps a frenemy) who seems to be developing a new power and can cause their fingers to produce flames. I do the same. As I start to wonder if they can do some of the other things that I can do with my strange dream powers, they hesitantly start to rise in the air and start to fly. I do the same, but a lot more skillfully, because I have been doing it longer. I wonder if they realize this is a dream, like I do, but before I get the chance to ask them, things start to heat up.

More and more people around us are suddenly starting to develop these hero powers, and as we do, we are being approached by government agencies who are threatening us with imprisonment and experimentation if we do not join their particular agencies, and they are getting more and more threatening about it. Things are getting really tense, and the situation is bad enough that Martha Jones calls for the Doctor, even though he only just left her, and thankfully he hears her and returns to help calm the situation down.

Somehow I end up flying above the TARDIS, which has no ceiling, looking down on a wild maze of rooms where I can see all eleven Doctors and dozens of companions running about. It seems that all times are concurrent within the TARDIS. Interesting. Meanwhile, I spot a personally autographed copy of No Coins, Please which was dedicated to the Doctor because at one point he saved Gordon's life, and I just find that to be amazingly cool!
    14. Mom Abusing, Dale Flying Home, Swimming in Carpet at JCP Warehouse and fragments

      by , 05-25-2013 at 06:43 PM
May 25, 2013 -- [Went to sleep at about 10:30, probably drifted away about 10:45. Phone records show I received the text message that half-woke me at 11:52, then drifted back to sleep and continued dream, actually waking around 12:05, so you could argue most of this dream actually took place on the 24th.]

I'm at the Hickory house and mom is beating up on me again [nothing like this ever happened in real life, but in dreams I have to deal with this frequently, the last couple of years ... my mom, who has been dead for 7 or 8 years, is battering me for no reason in my dreams, except that she is going crazy.] She is claiming that I have done something horrible to the cat, who has been gone for something like 15 years, now, and it is obvious she is nuts. I put up with it for a little while, but then warn her if she continues hitting me, I am going to have to fight back. When she won't stop, I hit her and throw her around just enough to make her stop hitting me.

The problem is, there are other people in the house, and I now have to try to explain things to them, so they don't think I'm a bully who beats up on women. Meanwhile, I am trying to walk out of the house, but as I make it out of the hallway and into the living room, there are two young, cute, Japanese anime-style school girls there, too young, but not dangerously so, at about 16-18, I'd guess. They are sitting there in short skirts and tight tops, school girl uniform type of things, sitting there, talking to each other. I stop to enjoy the view for a few seconds. One of them has dyed red hair and Japanese features, and has her shorts pulled aside to reveal her landing strip and slit, quite a distraction. She seems to be making out with the other girl and rubbing herself on her leg, and I really have to almost tear myself away to stop watching.

I walk out the door of the house to find myself in a sort of cross between a hotel and a shopping mall. I am meeting Dale here before he has to leave and fly home to California [Dale hasn't been here since November, don't know why all these dreams about him going back to CA the last few nights when he hasn't even been here ...]. I'm trying to explain about the situation with mom, and how she's kind of getting nuts as she gets older, but he's really running late, packing very messily, and running out the door to try and avoid missing his plane, so he isn't really listening.

I follow him out the door, calling for him to slow down, and quit moving like a giraffe on those long legs, and find him near the exit (half hotel, half theme park, now), talking to a guy he's run into that looks very familiar, but I just can't quite recognize him. [Looking back at the dream now, he looked a lot like Biff Tannen, the bully jock from the Back to the Future movies, with a hint of Truman's 'best friend' from The Truman Show thrown in.] I just realize I probably vaguely recognize him from some movie, and am about to ask him what I recognize him from, but Dale has run off again, so I have to hurry to catch up.

I find him in the parking lot, just climbing into his rental car, and I ask him, did he pack everything? Does he need anything? He tells me that his new cell phone from Publix works really, really fast, and he's really happy with it. He also tells me he would really like me to make him a copy of some sort of DVD I have a some Disney stage shows (probably stuff I filmed using his camera) and the friend he is now with (who I don't know) also says he would like a copy. He runs off, and I suddenly find myself working a shift in the J.C. Penney warehouse.

[Somewhere about here, I was half-woke by a text on my cell phone, which I assumed was probably from Dale (it was, btw), but I just drifted back to sleep and back to the dream, which may explain a little of what is to follow.]

I find myself sort of flying around, working up at the loading docks where stuff is taken off the trucks and put on conveyor belts, then dropped from about 20 feet up, and we have to catch them, sort them, and put them on pallets. (In real life this would injure people and break stuff, but in dreams, I've had several like this in the last couple of years.) Annoyingly, I am not handling the regular stuff, but damaged returns, so instead of getting a box full of items, I am getting one of this thing, one of that, and I have to sort them into boxes with like items, making far more work, and they keep sending more and more stuff on the belts, and I am getting further and further behind, but they refuse to slow down. Soon there is so much stuff that it causes the entire system to collapse, with stuff scattered all over the place, the conveyor belt falling apart around me, and a very large flat screen TV hitting the ground and cracking open.

There is a young punk manager here, and though the whole thing is his fault, he tells me he is going to place all the blame on me, and I am going to be fired for this, and I am just thinking this is so unfair, and wishing they had hidden cameras out on the floor to catch him bragging about how it was his fault, but I am going to take the blame, but I know they don't. No fair! Meanwhile, some of the broken crates that have fallen seem to be stuff of mine that I have packed up and stored, and I now find myself running around, trying to gather my stuff together, including several bits of clothes that include old security uniforms I haven't worn in years.

By now I find myself out deep in the warehouse, among the tall racks of stock, all sorted on pallets and up in the air, except the space on the ground, the lowest rows, aren't filled with pallets, but all the associates' lockers, and as I am walking along, I spot one of them that has smoke gently rising from it. Something has caught fire. I am trying to call for help, and get somebody out here before things can spread, when I spot smoke rising from another locker a couple of rows away. And another. And another. There seems to be an arsonist running around, starting fires. There are several upper level employees running around trying to put them out, but I am helping out, acting as a spotter.

As they continue, I can't help but notice the floors we're standing on are not tile, or even stone (which would make even more sense), but there is a strip of carpeting, a kind of a blue-green carpet, running the width of the aisle, and the entire length of the warehouse. As I am standing there, pointing at another burning locker, I am kind of shocked to find another associate swimming up to me in the carpet. He splashes some water up at the locker and puts out the fire, and even splashes a tiny bit at me. I am really in shock. He is swimming along like he is swimming laps, but I'm just standing on it ... nothing but carpet, to me. "How can you do that?" I ask, but he refuses to tell me, darn it!

I can't help it ... I pull out my cell phone and start to text Dale and tell him what is going on in the warehouse, and I hope I will manage to catch him before he gets on his plane. As I continue, it slowly turns from a text into an e-mail, and I now seem to be typing on my laptop, which is easier, of course. But I am still getting annoyed because, though I can type quite fast (probably about 35 or 40 words a minute when I know what I want to say, even though I don't know how to touch type), there is a girl standing there, sending texts of her own, and she is somehow typing about 10 to 20 times as fast as me, which shouldn't be possible. In retaliation, I just start mashing the keys with both hands and even my arms, sending masses of complete gibberish to Dale, before I wake up.

[And the moment I wake up, I check my cell phone and verify the text that half-woke me was, indeed from him, and immediately started texting him about the dream he almost woke me from, but since I only just woke up, half of that text was also gibberish. ]

May 25, 2013 -- Somehow I have been visiting with Carolyn S., and was somehow even there last week when one of her sons (Carson, I think) graduated from elementary school [very odd, since all of her kids are already out of high school], though because of some sort of emergency or problem, Carolyn was not able to make it. She is very disappointed about this, and feels really bad about it. So when I am out doing stuff a couple of days later, and find myself in the right place at the right time, I decide to help out. I am somewhere in California, Garden Grove or Santa Ana or somewhere I know the major streets, but not well, and I realize I am really near Carson's school, so I decide to stop by and see if, even though the graduation has already happened, if there might be any more festivities Carolyn might be able to catch, to make up for missing the graduation.

As I said, the overall area is Garden Grove or something, but when the bus drops me off at his school, it is an exact duplicate of Peter Marshall. I approach the kindergarten playground and classrooms, and there are a lot of other people wanting to speak to somebody as well, so it is fairly crowded. But as I am walking up, I realize that it is Sunday, so nobody is going to be here. [Never mind that if graduation was last week, school is over for the summer, anyway.] I comment on this, and several others realize I am correct, and start walking away. I am about to join them, when I glance back at the class rooms. Not only are there people on the playgrounds, but I can even see them in the classrooms through the windows, so even though it is Sunday, people are still here.

I walk to the office, and find myself in a big line of people. I glance around, and there are five or six people working, and I remember when I was a kid at Marshall, and how there was only Ms Gurly and one teen working in here and managing everything. I can't imagine how they need so many people, now, but figure it must be much more record keeping because computers have made it so much 'easier' these days. Anyway, a couple of the people waiting in front of me in this huge line are pushy punks, and they start shoving me around a bit, until the staff gets angry, and orders us all to get out. They head out the door in front of me, and since they are now gone, I turn around at the last second and stay. Sine there is no more trouble, they let me.

I find myself leaning against the wall next to the door to the principal's office, and there is a meeting going on in there with a lot of people. Unfortunately the door is broken, and I keep bumping it open and having to apologize. Meanwhile, I am playing with a couple of nails sticking out of the wall, and find myself backing away from several large spiders. (Large as in large types, wolf spiders, or wood spiders, perhaps, not something like huge spiders. just like an inch or two long.) They tell me not to worry about the spiders, and nobody seems to care, though they creep me out a little.

Soon I finally have a chance to speak to the person in charge (who warns me they are still putting together the diplomas and mailing them out, and I can't collect it in person), and I say something like "I'm here on behalf of Carolyn S. Her son graduated a few days ago ... his name is ..." "Carson, yes. We were very proud of him ... such a shame what happened." "Wha?" "Oh, he went out and got drunk three days ago, and something happened, and now he is dead!" "But I just saw him ..." I continue to think ... four days ago! Oh no! Poor Carolyn. I am horrified. And about that time I wake up.

May 25, 2013 -- [Even later in the morning ... but most of this one is missing. There was even more of this one, before the part I remember, and I think it involved looking for a nice restaurant.] There were bits about eating, and maybe a hint of balloon twisting that I can barely remember, but then I find myself getting home at the Hickory house. Mom is being a bit of a pest, but nowhere near as bad as in the first dream of the night. Carolyn S. is also here, and it is several days after the second dream. I know I ought to tell her how sorry I am to hear about her son, and apologize for my visit to his grade school, but she is running out to door for a balloon gig of her own. But just as she is exiting, she mentions that Carson was asking about me, yesterday. Turns out he is fine, and the woman at the school didn't have any idea what she was talking about. Weird.

Meanwhile, I am walking to my second bedroom, and find that both the doors are open, and mom has been in there, messing with my stuff again. Darn it, I wish that woman would stay out of my room and leave my stuff alone! I walk in, and start glancing around to see what she might have messed with, and soon find myself playing some Runescape. It is half-live, half game, but I have no computer to play with. I soon find myself facing off against a huge troll or ogre, something along the lines of Bork, but not him. Problem is, I can't seem to touch him, but he sure seems to be able to touch me! Somebody sees me having problems, and calls over to me that the only thing he is weak to is the casting of bloom, but I don't have my druid pouch with me.

Luckily, I do have my first ever cell phone, my old silver Sanyo flip phone, and I pull it out of my pocket, and start flipping through it to see if I might have any sort of Runescape app. Luckily I find one that allows me to cast bloom by pushing the 2 key, so I wait for the creature to attack me, hold the phone at him, mash the 2 key a few times, and a bright light comes out of the phone, and starts to injure him. I have to wait a little while before he recovers enough to try again, and we do the same thing. This goes on 10 or 12 times, and I've beaten him down to about half health, but unfortunately, I'm almost out of prayer, so I am not going to be able to cast bloom anymore. So I am struggling with the app to see if there is any way I can access my Ardy cloak to recharge my prayer points, but so far I haven't managed it. [In actuality, I would probably need the Falador shield, rather than the cloak.]
    15. Doctor Who and the Cavalcade of Crooks

      by , 05-16-2013 at 05:53 AM
12-11-2010 -- [Warning, very slight sex, hopefully handled in such a way to be no worse than a PG-13 rating] I am driving on a narrow, crowded carnival midway, approaching a midway version of Knott's Parachute Jump mounted on the back of a truck. I am driving very fast, and realize I have no way to stop a car in the space remaining without killing somebody or crashing, so I mentally transform the car into a motorcycle, and send it into a tremendous skid, squealing the tires and coming to a stop well less than a foot from the short line for the ride, causing the people to gasp in fright.

The ride, itself, is a single parachute unit, with the exact cage used to hold people from Knott's Berry Farm. There is no Sky Cabin, just a tower raised on the truck to the same height as the real parachute jump. The bad guy shoves the girl I am trying to rescue into the cage, and starts the ride, and they quickly begin to rise. I grab a short canvas strap hanging from the underside of the cage and rise into the sky after them, trying to climb the strap and make it into the cage.

By the time we get far into the sky, I succeed, and I'm so angry at the crook who is trying to torture the girl (who I think is Juliet from Psych) that I give him a tremendous kick to the head and decapitate him. The parachute opens up, and we drift back down to the ground, where I toss out his now lifeless body.

I head off, and more Psych people are showing up in the dream, though they are not part of the Santa Barbara PD, but instead work for the FBI. I know a couple of the agents have gone rogue, and I am trying to figure out which ones. I decide to hide in a bathroom stall, hoping to overhear something. I enter a stall, drop my pants, and sit down, so things will look proper if somebody checks under the stall door, then I wait. Oddly, it seems to be a unisex restroom, because there are some women coming in to use some of the stalls around me.

As I am sitting there, the partitions of the stalls keep changing and getting shorter. Soon you can see the heads and torsos of the people in the other stalls, though the partitions are still enough to hide the bottom half of people. There is an attractive woman in the stall next to me who for some reason decides to remove her sweater. She is wearing nothing underneath, and has a very attractive bosom. As I am admiring it, she changes to Juliet, and she leans over and rests her head on my shoulder (both of us still sitting on our separate toilets) and I do a little slight exploring of that nice chest, while she groans appreciatively.

The reason I am here is to try and spy on Lassiter, who I think is the traitor, and eventually he has come through and revealed a little bit of the plan, so we're now on the move, skulking after him, trying to learn more. I am thinking how it would be nice to have a TARDIS, and thinking that I ought to find and borrow the Doctor's, take it for however many years I want to use it, then return it just seconds after I have taken it, so that my use of it does not interfere with the Doctor's using it.

I think that I will program it, while I have it, so that it will come to me where and when I first got it, so that I don't have to go looking for it, forming a time paradox (much like Harry and Hermione did in one of the fan fics I read which gave them a headache trying to figure out how they got it in the first place), and thinking of doing it is enough to cause the paradox, so that now I do have a TARDIS to use. I find myself thinking how cool it would be to do a Five Doctors kind of story, interacting with several Doctors, but remembering I will have to make sure our TARDISes never come together.

Anyway, we have trapped a perp in a hotel room, and we're approaching and ready to bust in. The guy we're chasing is a combination of Reid from Criminal Minds and Johnny Depp, and as we break into his apartment, and the others move into the bedroom to catch him, in the living room I spot Spuds McKenzie laying on his back in front of the TV chugging a beer, which is really weird. I warn him to stay out of things, and he can barely focus on me, and gives a drunk bark, and I figure he's too drunk to be a problem. Odd thing for a dog.

We caught Reid, and soon I am with somebody driving down a very narrow alley, with other vehicles parked in it, and I am worried that somebody will suddenly pop out of a space and cause an accident, but thankfully nobody does. I'm carrying four or five books. I think one is the Doctor's 500 year journal, and another is a Marvel Masterworks (X-Men, I think, but I'm not sure), plus a couple of other things.

Somewhere there is a scene standing outside of a TARDIS, talking with the Doctor. I knock out Juliet for her protection, and teleport her into the TARDIS, while two different K-9s displaced in time are talking to one another. Don't quite know where or how this fits into the story, but the scene was there.

We're now being chased by Lassiter, and I think we've accomplished most of what we needed to accomplish, so I'm trying to figure out how to make my getaway. I run into a small wooded area, and find a small hole in the ground, right underneath the edge of a sidewalk. I am thinking it is the entrance to a huge cave like Mammoth, even though the hole is so small that most people wouldn't think you could fit through it.

I'm thinking about trying to slither through it when water comes bubbling up to within a few inches of the top of the small pit the hole is located in. I look at a drain a few feet away, and I can see water rising in the drain, then vanishing again and bubbling up in the pit, kind of like a double sink can do in odd ways when the drainage pipe is blocked. The second time the water backs up in the pit, I realize it could overflow, and my books are on the ground right around it, so I head over to pick them up.

As soon as I think of it, the water does overflow, and catches a couple of the books, ruining them. I decide on the spur of the moment that the ruined 500 year journal was only a copy I'd made, and as soon as I think it, it is so. I leave the ruined book, since it is now a copy, and the original is safe in my possession. I know Lassiter will find the book, and be convinced I was drowned in the cave, and therefore will no longer be chasing me, and I wander off.

[This dream was not lucid, I never realized I was dreaming. But I was incredibly powerful in this dream, because all I had to do was think of things to change things, like the journal being a copy, the car turning into a motorcycle, or more or less using a mental paradox to create a TARDIS. Very cool dream.]
