I absolutely love all the dialogue in this dream, especially the confident exclamation about your identity! :canislucidus:
Your idea to see what was behind the curtain was a really great way to give your dreaming mind the chance to provide something interesting without you actively creating it. I'm glad you got to take in all the awesome imagery with the strange creatures!
Congrats on the lucid! I know this dream happened pretty early in the night too, which is a good reminder that LDs are still possible even when you have an early start the next day.
Thanks! I really enjoy the dialogue as well. I've been trying to remind myself how powerful it is to narrate my way through dreams, how empowering it feels to describe what I see and what I want using words. I find that it's great for focusing the mind on what I want and shaping the story to what I want.

Not to mention it lets me continuously reminding myself that I'm dreaming!

It's not something that I always remember to do, but it's a habit that I wouldn't mind becoming part of virtually every LD.

Yeah, like you said, an early night lucid is always a very encouraging thing, especially for me. (Since I have so many of my lucids as a result of WBTB... there's something liberating about having LDs when conditions aren't "just so".) Thank you as always for the encouragement... I'm hoping for another one of those early in the night LDs tonight! =)

Hey, maybe somewhere in the universe's sextillion stars, some green-skinned lifeform was just waking up from a startlingly similar dream...
      I want to believe!

Don't worry; I'm sure that they're still there doing fine! If you go check on them in the next lucid, they'll be happy to see you!

Thanks, man! It was empowering, for sure. Even though I've had a number of lucids that I haven't gotten around to posting yet, my lucidity has been irregular, and it's been many days since my last one. This had me feeling very protective of my lucidity, so I was glad that I stuck up for myself.

Yeah, the theater was a scene that really stuck with me. The idea of all those other dreamers out there, human and non-human alike was really cool to me.

That's awesome! Ha, I can't say the same for myself.. as far as NOT cursing irl, lol. I totally get that the rarity of use could make it more powerful! Maybe I should use flowery language, haha
Ha ha... maybe for you we need to get more creative. You'll need to use some swears that aren't in your day-to-day profanity toolbelt.

I'm looking forward to your next LD where you exhibit incredible dream control by shouting:
      "Zounds!"
      "Crikey!"
      "Gadzooks!!"

Ha ha, thanks imazu! I've occasionally used that profane screaming technique, and I have to say that I have pretty consistent success with it! I don't use a ton of profanity in waking life, so maybe that helps make it seem more like a special "word of power".

And yeah, about the fart taste, DEFFF wouldn't want that to enter the real world lol

@NyxCC - Ohhh my goodness, I can't believe that I missed this year and a half old comment! What a cute photo!

Sometimes I say laughably stupid things when I'm employing in-dream profanity, but ah well, if it works for dream control, I'm happy!

Too bad it had to end up with a mouth full of fart.. lmao
LOL. Oh man I still haven't forgotten how nasty that thing tasted! May none of us ever experience a taste like that in waking life!

LOL, "that sexy corner!" I wonder where that came from, that is hilarious! And our favourite emoticon!
@Dreamer - Ha ha, and I was totally congratulating myself on that "elegant" dream control in the moment! I'm always pleased when these ridiculous improvised tricks work, because yeah, I too have no idea where they come from.

Yes, it is a wonderful emoticon! No other emoticon embodies such raw sexiness.

Basically if you're making a numbered list of sexy things, it would go:
      1. Numbered lists
      2. This emoticon
      3. Everything else

The oozing sounds really cool, I'm not sure if I've done that to get out of bed. Definitely something I'd like to try now.
I think that I started doing this after reading Xanous start an OBE by imagining his legs or feet on the floor. Ever since then, I've done this just about as often as the traditional "roll out of body". It's definitely unusual to just kind of slide/slither out of bed like that but it has worked quite well for me!

I'm glad you didn't get distracted by WL chores - dreams are self-cleaning, after all! You can make as much mess as you want and they always reset.
Congrats on the LD, I look forward to catching up on your others too when you post them!
Thanks! I do very much need to attack my backlog!

@NyxCC - LOL. Now that's funny! Now that you've pointed it out, this 100% sounds like a Xanous stabilization title.

      @Xanous
      - Ha ha, nice! Your stabilization legacy shall endure forever. =)

Thanks so much, Dreamer! That amazing dream control and confidence you displayed in your most recent LD was way beyond what I did in this DJ entry, but I recognized that same limitless feeling, that total confidence that makes literally anything possible in our LDs!

What struck me in your LD is just how unstoppable and free you were, and it brought back those feelings for me. One of those wonderful little emotional souvenirs we take back with us from our lucid dreams.

We can't bring whole worlds back with us, but at least we can bring back some piece of how those worlds made us feel.

I immediately thought of another dream when I read the first line of this entry, can you guess which one?
Oh man! Can you imagine if I'd commissioned Phil Collins to dream-compose "Have a Badass Day" for me?

Thanks for linking me to this dream, Canis! It's nice to read back and see your earlier LD successes.
I love your confident mindset in this dream - what a way to hit #100!
I've definitely found that pretending you're already succeeding regardless of any hiccups is super powerful.
Your elaborate musical creation was impressive, too!

Thanks so much. This (seeing my grandfather) has actually been a long-standing LD goal for me, one that's been on the "long list" basically since I began trying to have lucid dreams. But I've never pursued it with any determination, so it was neat to have the scenario already set up for me.

Did the mindset remind you of anyone in particular? =) Any time I can remember, I'm trying to take your lessons about slowing down to heart!

It's cool that you went with your feeling to go along with the dream plot at the end. I know it's not the first time you've done a random act of kindness for a DC, and I always hope you feel nice when you do.
Thank you! It really does feel good to help a DC out in situations like this. Something about the misunderstanding, particularly related to dreaming, just didn't feel like something I could leave alone. And if he ever feels like it, Tony can return the favor some day and let me know that I'm dreaming.
