    1. Saved by a starving wolf.

by , 12-25-2010 at 03:18 AM (Visions in the Dark)
I am lost in a coniferous forest somewhere in snowy northern Canada. I have been lost for a long time, wandering in the endless frozen forest, and the cold is starting to effect my body in seriously adverse ways. My left hand, from the wrist, has turned completely black from frostbite and my legs have been numb for hours, thoughI still force myself to stumble through the snow because for I have a false believe that if I keep moving that things will get better or I will be found or something.

Another night comes and the moon is the biggest and the fullest I have ever seen before. It is so bright in fact that I can find my way through the forst as if it were day time. I cannot see what it is but I hear foot falls in the snow behind me and know that I am being followed by a wild animal. Many days and nights pass and my body is sucumbing more to the cold. The animal that has been following me is still around but I have no yet seen what it is, though I suspect that it is waiting for me to die. One day I collapse in the snow exhausted finally reigned to my inevitable fate and wait for the wild animal to come and eat me.

I lift my tired head and see a light grey wolf slowing making its way to me. The wolf is very think and weak looking and I can see the outline of its ribs and the creature seems to be starving terribly, though it is not threatening me and seems more curious than anything. I figure I am going to die anyway so I pull a pocket knife out and cut off my frostbitten hand and toss it towards the wolf then immediately pass out. I wake up at night and find myself alone. I don't know where the wolf went and cannot see if it ate my hand because it is too dark. I find the strength to stand up and begin wandering again, more out of boredom than anything because I don't think I am going to be saved and I am essentially just passing the time until I do. I am so cold and so tired that I no longer actually feel the cold that much anymore, let alone think about it.

Something happens one day though the dream becomes fuzzy and I cannot remember exactly what. I think a bear or a group of evil hunter men came upon me and attack me but I am saved my the light grey wolf that had been following me before. The wolf chases away my attacks and then has to drag me away from there, by the collar of my coat, through the forest because my body is so tired and damaged by the cold that I can no longer walk. I don't know how long the wolf dragged me but it felt like a long time. I pass in and out of consciousness for days and in one moment of clarity I talk to the wolf and believe it can understand me (partly loneliness, partly delerium) and tell him that when I die that he has my permission to eat my body because I know that it is still starving. I pass out again right after.

I wake up in a hospital bed. I know I am still in the north because I can see a snowstorm raging outside of my hospital window. It is night and everything is quiet and I am trying to wrap my mind around how I survived in the frozen north for so long. I also wonder about the starving wolf and feel bad that I did not die so that he would have something to eat. I lay awake for a long time because my mind is ruminating about so many things and the thoughts of my experience begin to overwhelm me when a nurse with sort curly hair in pink scrubs comes in and says that the doctor will be in shortly. After some time passes an elderly Native American aboriginal chief dressed in a leather vest and a coyboy hat comes in and tells me that I am lucky to be alive and he asks me about the details of my ordeal.

I tell him everything I remember happening including being saved by the starving wolf and the doctor tells me that I am mistaken. He says that I was found by the side of the road in one peice and that they had to amputate my hand because of the frostbite damage after I was brought to the hospital. I argue with the doctor and tell him that I am so sure that it all really happened. The doctor tells me that I was suffering from delerium from the cold and that I probably hallucinated the whole thing. I feel kind of at a loss because I am not sure how to feel but the doctor tells me that I probably did meet a wolf in the frozen north and that it guided me out of the forest because in Native American aboriginal legend, the wolf is a protector and a guide for lost soles.

After the docotr leaves I stare out of the window for a long time, trying to come to terms with what I though was real and what I was told really happen. Through the blowing snow outside I can see something move and when it comes close to the window I can see that it is the starving wolf that saved me, though it no longer looks like it is starving. The wolf looks at me for a moment than runs off into the snowstorm and the dream ends there.

    2. Animal transformations in space.

by , 07-14-2010 at 12:30 AM (Visions in the Dark)
The dream begins in outer space, some time in the future, where two opposing factions are vying for control of an area of space somewhere in a remote galaxy. The beginning character of this dream is a "bad" guy renegade of the enemy group. He appears as my dream character Walter and he is a tall man with firery red hair and goatee. His ship is attempting a covert mission to penetrate a line of defence set up by the "good" guys.

The mission fails and Walter and his small crew of renegades are captured. Imprisioned aboard the "good" guys ship and because they are renegades and not officially listed as members of a military, Walter and his crew are subjected to experiemental science testing to achieve alternative physical forms during combat.

The experiments require chocolate bars to activate and at first there are only personality changes in the renegades, but after months of experimentation, physical slave labor (to build up muscle), and mind altering drugs and reprocessing (brainwashing) Walter beings randomly transforming into a white tiger in his prisoner cell at night. Soon his right hand man begins transforming into a grey wolf and other members of Walter's crew assume other animal forms.

The leader of the "good" guys has been following orders this whole time though he has secretly morally opposed the way he has been ordered to treat his prisoners (I think his name was Greg or something). When Walter and his crew begin transforming into animals, Greg is ordered to lead use the experimental prisoners to a nearby abandoned planet to decontaminate it of harmful chemicals and remove pockets of pirates and smugglers who inhabit some of the abandoned cities.

After the planet has been liberated and cleansed, Greg is ordered by his military leaders to capture more enemies and subject them to the experiemental transformation process as well. Greg protests and refuses and as punishment for defying orders Greg and his crew are subjected to the same experiments that Walter's crew endured. When the process is complete Greg begins transforming into an African lion and some of his crew also assume the forms of other sahara creatures.

With their new transforming abilities, superiour strength and skills, Greg defects to Walter's side and the two commanders then lead their crews to rebel against the oppressive military factions vying for control of this area of space. I cannot remember the end of this dream.

    3. The Dark Forest and the Wolf Man

by , 05-04-2010 at 05:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
I am walking through a hilly, temperate forest at night. The full moon illuminates the way and the sky is filled with brilliant shining stars. I look like my dream incarnate Kalima and I am wearing a lavender dress and heavy grey, hooded cloak. Occasionally I pass large jutting rocks from the side of a hill, some of which have small caves in them. I explore a few of the larger caves but find nothing of interest. I come to a small river and hesitate to cross because the thick forest on the other side seems ominously darker than the one I just passed through.

The river is not that deep and I only get wet up to my ankles as I cross. As soon as I am on the other side I hear a rustling in the dark forest of something that sounds like it is moving away very quickly. I start to run and try to follow the sound, curious to see what it was, but not as much moonlight can penetrate the thick forest canopy and I cannot see the forests floor as well and keep tripping on rocks and roots and stuff. After a while I realize that I am very deep in the forest now and lost.

As I continue to walk I get the growing sensation that something is following and, becoming a little paranoid, I start thinking that I can hear something creeping along the forest floor behind me. I walk for a very long time but eventually see what looks like the end of the dark forest. I start jogging towards the growing light and seemingly open space but have to stop abruptly as the edge of the forest stops immediately at a steep cliff.

At the bottom of the cliff, for as far as the eye can is another forest which gives way to large snowy mountains in the far distance. Immediately below where I am standing is a small sparkling pool that is fed by a small waterfall coming out half way down the cliff. The water in the pool is very dark, but yet the surface of it glows with a soft bluish white light. There are few outcropings in the cliff that allow me to climb my way down to the pool, but it is kind of far and I am tired by the time I reach the bottom.

When I have caught my breath I go over to the pool and look into it's deep, dark waters. The full moon just happens to be in a position in the sky that when I look into the pool and see my reflection, the moon is directly behind my head's reflection and it looks like have a halo. I am kind of amused by this but it is short lived as the feeling that something has been following me is suddenly confired. In the mirror image of the cliff side I can see a wolf looking over the edge at the top and making eye contact with me through the water's reflection.

I look up at the cliff top and there is a wolf standing there staring at me. He is large and grey and black and stares at me hard with peircing yellow eyes. He suddenly leaps from the top of the cliff. As he falls through the air his body changes to that of an human shape, though he still has a wolf face and is covered in wolf fur. He has the strange bluish white glow of the pool and I know that he is the guardian of it. He lands, standing upright but doesn't attack or anything. He justs stands there staring at me, breathing heavily.

I cannot remember any more of this dream.

I drew a picture of the Wolf Man as best I could. See the image here.
    4. The Mountain School and Wolf Spirit Guide.

by , 07-18-2006 at 04:28 PM (Visions in the Dark)
In a three story school, located at the base of a steep mountain, children were gathered there to be trained and tested. It was a special school for training in survival tactics or something like that, but it also focused on philosphy. There were no glass in the windows and it was winter time, so everything was very cold and everyone was dressed in winter clothing all of the time. There were no sleeping quarters and the children just slept on the floor of the classrooms in heavy arctic sleeping bags.

In the dream I was an orphan and at the school only because I had no where else to go. I was a ward of the school, as much as a student. I felt like the odd one out, because I didn't have any friends and I had very bad vision, whereas all the other students were sociable and no one else wore glasses.

I did not do very well at my studies and I really didn't like it there. At free time I explored the forests surrounding the school, while the other kids socialized with each other and played in the school yard. The teachers constantly advise students to stay out of the forests because there are monsters and enemies around.

One day, after the daily studies were finished, I decided to explore the road that led up the mountain. Evening was approaching as I explored and I was suddenly attacked by three oversized crow-like birds. I had minimal training in fighting and I only had a small knife to defend myself with. As I fought the birds a wolf appeared on the road behind me, but it just watched from a distance.

When I managed to kill the birds, I collapsed on the road and saw the wolf approaching. I was covered in blood and exausted and I was afraid that the wolf was going to eat me - it looked very hungry. I threw the bird carcasses towards the wolf (with the last of my strength) which it ate rapidly, then disappeared back into the forest. After the wolf disappeared, teachers from the school arrived and carried me back to the building.

After the story of my encounter spread around the school, I suddenly had respect from the students and teachers, but my interest in my studies did not increase any and I still spent most of my time alone. Not even two days after the incident, I was back in the forest and the wolf appeared in front of me. It looked at me cautiously but did not attack. I sensed that it was hungry again and I threw it some meat from my pack. The wolf ate the meat quickly and when it was finished, he telepathically thanked me and dissapeared deep into the woods.

I was surprised that I could hear the wolf's voice in my head, but I do not tell anyone of my psychic experience. I also figured that it was only a one time thing. Several weeks went by and I was exploring the forest and I once again ran into the wolf. When I saw him, I automatically threw him some meat from my pack, which he gladly ate. Because it was getting late I started to return to the school, but the wolf spoke to me telepathically and told me to stop.

The wolf said it was dangerous to return to the school and that I should hide in the forest until morning, but I ignored his warning and started back anyway. The wolf followed close behind me but was silent. When I got to the edge of the forest, I saw that there were tanks and large trucks that had surrounded the school. Men in military uniforms were rounding up the students and teachers and putting them into the large trucks.

The wolf grabbed the sleeve of my coat and dragged me back into the forest to avoid being spotted. When we were a bit deeper into the forest, the wolf let go of my sleeve, looked at me for a moment (his "expression" mysterious and unreadable) then he dashed off deep into the woods.
