Really cool experience, fogelbise! These NREM lucids are such a different kind of dream experience.

Do you have any sense of what state of mind/practices/etc. might have helped bring this about?

      Thank you!
Like pretend, that part of our consciousness is in some object that's across the room and we are looking at ourselves from that objects perspective.
I didn't even make that connection here but love Lidybug's Clearlight Perspective thread and have definitely been practicing imagining looking at myself from many different vantages due to that thread and Sageous' recommendation to check out that thread in his fundamentals q&a thread...I took it as one way to do his RRC. I forgot to mention that his opinion was also that the first part where I thought I might have opened my left eye was possibly a dreamlet instead of an FA. I need to check out that thread in full. When I first saw something about that thread, it didn't sound like something for me since I had this idea that interfering with NREM wouldn't produce much that I was interested in at this point and that it might affect my quality of sleep. I think I either scanned through bits of it only or just saw it float by on my profile page where I see the first sentence or so of what my DV friends are posting.
I also never added any color coding to this dj post but...ah...too late. Anyone reading can figure out where the lucid part is. I had another WILD this morning!!

      Wow, that's incredible!

I very much like all transitions and unusual things. And this sounds like something unusual. (lol, as if LDs are not unusual enough). Very nice, congrats.

I have also heard about moving your consiousness outside of the body. Like pretend, that part of our consiousness is in some object that's accross the room and we are looking at ourselves from that objects perspective. Or imagine ourselves doing some activity away from the body.

Also, when trying to exit body by levitating out, imagine as if you were already hovering above your body. Place your consiousness few inches above your head.

      Have you seen sageous's thread http://www.dreamviews.com/beyond-dre...lta-sleep.html ?

      Happy dreams

I just remembered in one of my lucid dreams I was flying perhaps it's the first one above that I forgot the whole LD and all of the sudden while I was looking down at the ground it's like I'm looking down on my dream journal from my room. I remember being confused about which eyes were open...dream eyes?

Edit: I found my early morning scribble in the margins of my paper dream journal and I noted this experience was a false awakening which seems more likely for looking down at my dream journal. now I am quite sure that I'm remembering correctly that I was flying as I usually do in my LDs but it faded into a false awakening in which I was looking down at my dream journal from a very weird angle.

Thanks CL!! I think I need to approach Angel Falls like I did the locker room...use a place that I have really been to but also look at youtube videos from Angel Falls perhaps. I too was thinking that it might be weird or scary if I saw myself laying in bed...that was one reason I kind of "peeked" (the other reason was fear of waking myself up by connecting to my sleeping body instead of my dream body). I have been using nose plug + counting fingers for RCs IWL. In the last few days I started replacing the nose plug with finger through palm for fear that the nose plug was giving me sinus headaches. Do you think it is counter-productive to change RCs?

All right, going for Angel Falls! Good, good! I approve.

Yeah, I've had experiences where I looked back at the bed and there was no sleeping body, and then my most recent experience where there was a sleeping body laying there in weird blue shorts. You never know what you're going to get it seems! Generally I've just not focused on looking back too much. I have to admit that this was partially due to some kind of weird dream apprehensiveness where I thought I would see.. something I don't like? Who knows! I'm a bit less rational in dreams.

Congrats on the nose plug! Crazy feeling isn't it? It makes for fantastic primary reality check IMO.

Thank you CanisLucidus! That means a lot coming from you! I completely agree with you on the expectations and possibilities and the way other people's challenges can translate to you if you let them! so true!

Congratulations on the LD and on realizing that you'd actually done a DEILD! That's some subtle stuff, actually, and I recall was one of the issues I always had to look for when I was doing a lot of SSILD... those false awakenings!

I totally agree with you that there's no point in believing anything negative about what's possible in an LD. The set of things that are truly impossible is actually incredibly small, if it even exists at all. What I think often happens is that people have one bad/challenging experience, then believe it will happen again. And since they believe it will, it does. Then they tell someone else, who later backs them up, etc. Or perhaps they've seen something in a movie.

All of that's totally normal but it's all totally fixable (IMO.) Good for you not believing the hype!

Yes, perhaps sound can be useful...the last time I remember teleporting I kind of imagined "my happy place" on a beach with the rolling waves but not too detailed just kind of a general thought and I found myself in the ocean...lead to one of my longer LDs. Now with the waterfall it was actually falling directly on me and felt nice but I couldn't see much of anything except the water falling around me and on me.

That's very kind of you to say.

I'm really liking this sound-based teleport idea, the more I think about it. It seems like it would be so much easier to "suggest" to your mind that you're hearing a particular thing rather than that you're seeing something completely out of the ordinary. When you teleported, did the entire scene change around you? Or was it more, hey, there's the waterfall right behind me, sweet!

Thank you. I have quite a ways to go to get to your level and stability but I appreciate the encouragement!

Nice!! Congratulations on the lucid. You've clearly got Task of the Year on your mind! Even if you didn't end up at the top of Angel Falls, you did an excellent waterfall teleport. That was a great use of the ambient sound to turn the dream content into what you wanted. Very well done!
