SilverWolf, I really like this dream of yours. And I agree definitely close to lucid. Maybe tonight a lucid?

LOL, sometimes it feels like my subconscious is clubbing me over the head and I still don't get it! I have to say, I have noticed the nature of my dreams changing these last couple of weeks since I've started really trying to Lucid. Thanks for the comment Keitorin--and I don't mind you laughing, it's part of the fun of posting your dreams

I'm sorry, I couldn't help but laugh a little at your frantic ~need~ to show the class. XD

I think it's a good sign when you start dreaming of [lucid] dreaming. Definitely means you're close to something! Your subconcous is poking you with a stick. Maybe in one of your upcoming dreams you'll have a breakthrough!

I've read that in dreams the condition of places like your current home or a previous home reflect the condition of the current way your life is. I'm really good with dream interpretations if you ever want to ask me anything

Hey, that's a good idea Ashikael! Would be pretty cool if that became a regular dream of mine

Oooh I'll bet dreaming about being on a lucid dreaming forum would be a great way to actually induce an LD! If you start dreaming about it regularly, you could use your profile avatar as a RC trigger or something

Well, to tasker, the first ever LD I had I used the fingers through palm check which worked, which is why I made it one of my usal checks. DreamingNinjas (love the name btw), thanks for the advice and encouragement. But, it would be my third, not first LD--only my second *recent* one though

I IRL do perform the nose check RC along with my fingers through palm. Which is why I find it so odd I failed to do that in my dream :s

Thanks for all the advice and comments people

Agh, that's pretty frustrating. But it is a step in the right direction! Since you performed a reality check in a dream (even if it didn't fulfill its purpose), you're one step closer to having your first lucid dream, as it is very likely that you will have another dream where you perform a reality check. I suggest performing a variety of reality checks at a time when you're first starting out, not just a couple, so that you can see which ones work for you best and which ones don't go so well.

For instance, you may try a nose plug reality check, then trying to remember where you've been and what you've been doing for the past hour or so, then looking at a clock or a piece of text repeatedly to see if it changes, etc. Unfortunately, sometimes your dream self just doesn't seem to be functioning normally and won't always try multiple reality checks at a time, as we see here. But good luck on your lucid dreaming endeavors!

TASKER it's not really the worst, it may be the worst for you, but not for others. What works for me, may not work for someone else's. So certain RC may not work, but that doesn't mean they're the worst RC. If it doesn't work, then try something else. Lucid Dreaming is a learning process. Each try of lucid dreaming, makes you learn something new. As in what fails, and what doesn't etc. Note those things that and continue trying. And have patience. Enjoy!

I missed a chance to be lucid last night too. In the dream I quickly glanced at a digital clock and saw it said 5:72 and I even thought "Wait, did that say 72?" but I just thought I saw it wrong XP

I usually always catch when digital clocks are messed up in my dreams, too bad I didn't that time.

In my personal experiences, finger through palm is the worst RC you can do. Many people swear by it, but not me. Most of the time I just feel normal resistance and nothing happens. Try counting your fingers twice, not too fast, and combine that with another reality check. For me, the digital watch RC works best. But to each his own...

The funny thing is, you weren't arguing with me that I was in a dream, so why out of nowhere I decided I needed to convince you is beyond me. Blame it on my semi-lucidity LOL

Indeed it is. I could probably offer some really deep insightful analysis of my dream--and no doubt you could as well. But, that would be a bit personal I think, LOL. Idk, maybe I'll analyze one of my own dreams on the forum one day when I have like a thousand posts and people know me

Congratulations on your first (recent) lucid dream. Awesome! And I love that you felt the need to turn into MJ to convince me that you're stabilizing a lucid dream lol

wow, a dream within a dream and you got to become somebody else. That must've felt really strange. Interesting dream though, and likely very symbolic if you think about it.
