    1. 14th April - LucidJordan's Dream Journal | Unexpected lucidity & increased physical/hearing senses

      by , 04-15-2014 at 03:57 PM
It's been a while since I last put a Dream Journal entry in, I've been out and about with friends playing music! I've been putting a lot of my focus on tantra also, since I had some sort of euphoric sensation overcome my entire body a couple of nights ago and I was wondering what on earth it was, it led me to tantra!

      11th April -

      Dream 1
Walking through a motorway type stone tunnel with a bunch of people, it turned into a busy stone hall but much tighter packed. I'm walking in the same direction as a lot of people, others are busily walking in our direction too. There was this guy who was walking next to me at the same time as this group of charity collectors pass me going the other way. The main collector asks me if I want to donate as he passes but I immediately tell him I have nothing to give, and he shoves me (I'm always charitable when I've got it, so this kind of behaviour annoys me). He keeps going, but the other guy who I mentioned was next to me says something offensive as a passive response to my having no money as to imply I'm tight, and I told him to fuck off or something long those lines. Further down the hall I'm walking into an open market type place, there are boxes of random toys and things on the floor and I have to step over them as I look around. Suddenly I turn around and the guy I told to fuck off before has the most insane keyboard in his hands, it's strapped on to him and he's holding it like a guitar, it was like a meter long black beast of an instrument, and he was playing some notes. He shouts to me that he's having it and there''s nothing I can do about it. Then the dream fades.

I was sleeping on a couch and woke up about 6 hours into my sleep and recalled that last dream. The light was coming through the living room window and there were buses loudly stopping and starting outside, it was quite noisy. I was quite uncomfortable too, the couch wasn't big enough to allow lying down fully stretched, so I was in the fetal position. It took me a while to get back asleep, my eyes were closed though, I was determined to get back to sleep even though I didn't feel too sleepy, and after 20 minutes I started to see some imagery appearing before me in the darkness, then I suddenly and very unexpectedly transitioned straight into a lucid dream, I was in a blurry room and it there was purple electricity flowing over half the stuff in the room. I didn't feel like I woke up in a dream and had to regain consciousness, I felt like I had literally just been lying on the couch trying to sleep and then all of a sudden I was in this room. I unfortunately came straight out of this dream anyway, and I was on the couch again.

So I tried again, I rested patiently for about 20 minutes, this time it seemed a lot longer to happen and I was getting a little disappointed until the imagery started appearing, then I knew it was game on. By imagery I'm talking about colourful neon type patterns swirling, which sometimes briefly transform into vivid objects. I've been practising dream schemas, thinking about what the patterns I'm seeing look most like, and therefore convincing my brain that that is what I'm seeing.

Anyway I went back into a new room, it was the same again - a transition with no loss of consciousness. This time I was sat on a bed and knew instantly I was dreaming, and I was calm. I looked around the room and it was more vivid than any lucidity I've had so far. There was a washing line sort of thing hung across the room with a football attached to it, and as soon as I looked at it I calmly thought about how I could change it into something. I decided to change it to a star, but looking at it and thinking I wanted it to change to a star did nothing. I looked away and repeated the thought, I wanted the ball to become a star, and when I looked back it was still a football. Then I woke up again.

With the two lucids I was trying to "open" my eyes as the imagery started coming to me. By open them I was not actually trying to physically open my eyes whilst keeping them closed, rather it was more of an embrace of all the imagery, as if I was accepting I was in a 3 dimensional space.

So that was annoying, that I couldn't change the football into a star. How will I fly if I can't even do that? I think the problem was that I was only thinking I wanted it to change, with little expectation of it actually happening. I didn't visualize it happening, I just wanted it to happen. Next time I'll have to "see" it change, and maybe it will.

      13th April -

      Dream 1
I was in a religion class with some old friends, they were all sitting about and smoking joints/playing games. The religion classroom transitioned into a bedroom without me noticing. I remember talking to a friend who used to body build but he looked really young again, like he did before his body-building days, and we talked about how it's a waste of time if you can't afford a good diet.

      Dream 2
My dream log simply says "Dan spelling cat and" (I must have been very tired). I can vaguely remember a funny situation where my friend Dan was in a position of spelling something, and I was taking the piss out of him spelling the simple words cat and dog for him in a patronizing (but banterish) way.

      Dream 3
I don't know what happened in this dream, except I know that there was a scene where I vividly heard words inside a dream for the first time. I was lazy in my logging efforts and have now forgotten them, in fact if I wasn't so sure right now about how I felt after I woke up that I heard vivid voices, then I would be convinced that I just feel like I have. Anyway this was unusual for me, usually I can remember being part of conversations in dreams but not actually hearing the words clearly, rather just remembering them. This time it was different, but I've forgotten the words so basically it doesn't even matter now haha.

The other sensation I felt in a dream for the first time was physical pain. I was unwrapping a bandage that was around my wrist, I think I had burned it or something, and I can vividly remember the feeling of the bandage being peeled off my raw skin and the stringing sensation of it. I hope it isn't possible to feel super physical pain in dreams, because if that happened to me with the mind I've got, I'd be fucked.

Just when I'm getting back into the swing of things I'm off out for a few days again, it's going to completely throw me off my efforts to lucid dream, but that's the price I'll have to pay! My recall suffered these last few days as a result of being away from home for a few days before that. I managed to recall one dream last night... I remember it being more vivid then now as I write it up, I didn't invest a lot of effort in remembering. Damn it.

Time I went to sleep: 2:00am
      First awakening: 7:00am (Natural)

      Dream 1
The dream starts with a bridge to some town being divided, Brad Pitt is the protagonist for some reason and I watch him scurry off into the town that has been blocked off. No one in this town has access to the other side of the bridge now. It seems I'm in a zombie infested land of infected peoples. I can't remember much but suddenly I am walking through a wooded area covered in snow, it's getting dark and there is a group of savages by a fire about to eat a baby, and I go over and end them all. Then Walter White is my new persona, and I'm overlooking a vast scene of hills, various fires around in the distance (I think the ending of the new Game of Thrones episode influenced this scene). Now I'm in a pub, and some old friends are around, specifically one that I haven't thought about for a long time (but she posted a status on Facebook last night and I remember it standing out). All my friends were drinking. Then that scene merged into a new scene where there was a tent set up with a ladder inside it going underground, and I remember watching my nan (what the hell, dreams) climbing up and out of the tent, then Brienne of Tarth came and climbed down into the lower area. I went down and there was a lot of sexual activity going on, mostly homosexual stuff, I remember seeing it but thinking it wasn't for me. This underground area was like a dodgy brothel, you could see inside different doors and various things were going on. I moved through the halls and suddenly I was in a strange version of my cousins bedroom, with my cousin, and we attempted to make a huge joint, this joint was like half a meter long. Attempting to roll it together we eventually gave up, and he rolled a smaller (but still quite long by joint standards, I'd say about 15cm). I remembered being angry about this joint, but then the dream faded off into nothing.

Time of final awakening: 11:00am (Snoozed 5 times until 12 however, I really need to stop doing that)
      Time slept: Roughly 9 hours
Total awakenings: 3 (1st - Natural with recalled Dream | 2nd - Went back to sleep with no recall or logged time | 3rd - Alarm to get up)
Did I do my waking journal the night before? Yes
Did I do my awareness techniques throughout the day and before bed? Yes
    3. 8th April 2014 - LucidJordan's Dream Journal

I've been out since the 4th April, and I haven't been in very good conditions or mindsets for lucid dreaming, or even basic recall for that matter. My mind has simply been elsewhere, distracted by the friends and family I have been with. My sleeping patterns were all over the place.I got home yesterday and spent the day getting back into the swing of things, learning about different methods of attaining lucidity. I read quite a lot about WILD last night. I have been practicing my self-awareness techniques each day though, probably not as much as at first, but still keeping it going. I enjoy being aware even outside of this dreaming business, it opens the world up to you in a way you'd forgotten. I'm looking at old places I've seen many times and it feels like since my awareness has went up my ability to relate with what I'm looking has has increased 10 fold, it's like I'm reliving strong vivid memories when I look at old places I used to visit now.

From the 4th I tried to recall some dreams, but I only had one recall the first night, and it was extremely vague. I forgot to write up a detail account after I committed to waking up, and now my tag method doesn't help me remember much. The days that followed up until last night were dreamless, I probably had one or two vague recalls but I forgot them as soon as they arrived and now I'm not sure if they ever existed!

      4th April Dream
I found myself watching some sort of fair ride from above, like the pirate ship that sways in different directions. There was no pirate ship however, it was just a floor instead. Other people were on it, and it only swayed enough in each direction to wobble us. It was night time, and the environment felt calm and fun, but suddenly it felt as if I had a job to do. I then appeared far away from the place I had been, looking at it from a field. I was sitting on a or against a car, and I fired a flare into the sky. The dream fades here, and then a new place appears, and I was looking at myself in the mirror, noticing that all the facial hair on the right side of my face was growing out of control.

      ----------------------------------------

      Last night

      Time of sleep: 2:00am
Time of first awakening: Unsure (forgot completely to log the time!) | Reason: Natural awakening

      Dream 1
I know there was a dream involving my ex, but I can't remember it at all.

      Dream 2
I was in bed with one of the most beautiful red heads I have ever seen, though her face is faded in my memory now. I was having sex with her but the focus of the dream was not on that aspect, it was more about a passionate kind of exchange with communication, something genuine and pure. She laughed and made me laugh.

      Dream 3
It seemed like me and some dude had been spawned into a place where we were under immediate threat from something. We were on dark streets, and the threat was of mindless thugs out to find and kill us. We quickly found ourselves in some building, and the terror of the threat was so intense that even with our handguns we still tried to hide. I suggested we just hide in the plain room we found ourselves in, which was old and packed with furniture that seemed to be held for storage. We climbed to the back past chairs and couches, stepped through gaps and hid at the back. I remember slotting down in between a couch and something else, and pulling a sheet over myself. My companion seemed not to invest too much care in his hiding, and was easier to see. I think I remember us bickering about it. We quieted down and waited, hearing noises that filled us with fear. After a while I realized I could stop the threat, and suddenly I was spawned outside the building. It was no longer night time, and I was heading towards some gangsters that were waiting by the road for some other gangsters to arrive. As they did, I casually walked over and shot them all in the back before they knew what was happening.

      Time of final awakening: 12:00am
Total time slept: Roughly 10 hours
      Total alarms used: 1
      Total awakenings: 3 | Natural: 2-3 | Alarms: 1
Did I do a waking journal recall of my day before I went to sleep: Yes
Did I do any awareness concentration: Roughly 30-40 minutes of physical awareness of my entire body, on my back

    4. 3rd April 2014 - LucidJordan's Dream Journal - [Slightly disturbing, short-lived, non-lucid]

      by , 04-03-2014 at 03:35 PM
My recalling skills this morning were nowhere near as sharp as they were yesterday, and one particular dream this time around was quite disturbing. Before I went to bed I did some physical awareness tasks whilst lying down on my back with my eyes closed, and I went through the process of feeling each part of my body. I felt the feeling of each foot, and then concentrated harder on each toe, then the calves, knees, then all of those parts together, and basically I went through every possible separate joint/bodypart I could and tried to put them into different group and feel them together.

This lasted about 20 minutes, afterwards I rolled onto my side to go to sleep in hopes that I might have a Dream Induced Lucid Dream. After trying to sleep for a while with relaxed breath, something strange happened. My breathing in and out felt like it became one motion, this feeling was very strange. The best way I can describe it is quite limiting: If you have ever been in hospital and put to sleep on the operating table whilst counting to 10 with your eyes closed, well that vague taste/smell/numbness that overcomes you and your breathing is what I felt. My heart started racing as this happened to me, I didn't expect it to happen so as soon as it did I was excited. Immediately though, and I fear this might be detrimental to my lucid dreams when I get good at getting into them with ease, is that I instantly thought about my physical body in my bedroom, and then I thought about seeing nightmarish things, and I knew I shouldn't but I couldn't stop myself. The feeling died down after about 20 seconds of trying to maintain it, and then it stopped completely and I felt like I was just trying to sleep again. I think the full physical body awareness process is important for letting go of all tension in the body and was responsible for this experience, I will continue to do this before sleep each night I'm practicing.

Now onto the dreams... they were vivid, but short-lived. After my first awakening 6 hours into my sleep I had no dreams to recall, this was very disappointing. I tried hard to think, but nothing was there. My alarm woke me up in a very shocked way, and I remember reading yesterday (I think it was Puffin's DILD guide) that sudden shock alarm awakenings are awful for recall, so that was probably the problem. I will have to find an app that is good for gradual noise build up with the alarm so I wake up more settled. My other awakenings were natural too, and I had stuff to recall after those. Evidence!

      Time of sleep: 2:00am
Time of first awakening: 8:00am | Reason: Alarm

No dreams to recall here. Damn you, alarm!

      Time of sleep: 8:00am
The rest of my awakenings up until my alarm final alarm at 11:00am were random throughout and I forgot at the time to log the times I woke, but I did remember to tag recall my dreams.

Dream 1 - Joni Mitchell &the mysterious hula hoop
Me, my friend Tom and an old friend Steven were walking up some stairs in a building. As we walked the steps, Tom said from the back of the group "Have you ever listened to Joni Mitchell?". I replied saying that I have, but I knew that I hadn't really listened to her (I have been meaning to though, I forgot until this dream actually, so I'll have to get onto her now). I remember saying that I have listened to her in such a way that it was embarrassing to not have listened to her. In a "Of course I have, what do you take me for?!" kind of manner, but with a subtle "I have." I used to lie about a lot of small things like that throughout my teens, like talking crap for the sake of it, but over the past years I have tried my best to iron that kind of thought out, what's the point? Though I know a lot of people, young and old, who still do this all the time. Anyway, as we got to the top of the stairs we were all coated up, the atmosphere seemed like we were in a very cold location, somewhere that suggested snowing. Steven sat down at a table with me, and he had a hula hoop around him. I can't remember much else.

Dream 2 - The disturbing one
This one was very unsettling. I was lying on a bench, my feet and hands were bound so I couldn't get off of it, this was in some kind of lit up dungeon/surgical room. What was truly horrifying however was the fact that Phillip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) was fondling some naked girl against a wall whilst all creepily pushed up against her. There was definitely a great feeling and knowing that this was wrong, I can remember wanting it to stop as it played out in front of me but I couldn't stop it. The dream ended after a short while of this, it felt like it lasted about 1-2 minutes.

      Dream 3
This dream was more fun. I was around a merged version of Liverpool and London city (England) and I can remember walking into a big public hallway that was half interior half exterior, like a big open space with walls surrounding it and a glass ceiling, that had no doors, the halls just leaded into the open. I sensed an ex-girlfriend was approaching, but I couldn't be sure if it was her. She looked distorted in facial character, like someone else, but I sensed it was her. I fled the area to avoid her and ended up inside some hospital place, and I sensed I had to keep running away from something that was coming for me. I felt like I knew I could fly, but I was in a position of thinking about how I do it. Then I ran down the hallway and sort of just took off, and I was flying, but it turns out even my unconscious didn't think I could fly AND go through walls, and I flew straight into a wall and fell to the ground. The next bit is hazy, but I'm sure there was a portal to go outside, and I went through it. I remember flying past a bus in the daytime and everyone on the bus watching me go by. That's all I can remember here!

      Dream 4
In real life my cat has been sleeping in my room lately, and my brother and I were talking about this yesterday. He said he thinks the cats might have caught fleas, and reassured him they haven't (they were very recently flea'd, and when there are fleas about, they LOVE my skin. Well this conversation gave me one last disturbing (albeit much less disturbing than the last) dream.. I woke up and I was in my bed, everything looked like it usually would any other morning, but all of a sudden my cat got up and moved and my focus went straight to a flea that was walking across my bed sheet, then I noticed another on my pillow, and I jumped out of bed and the dream faded to nothing.

      Time of final awakening: 11:00am
Total time slept: Roughly 9 hours
      Total alarms used: 2
      Total awakenings from alarms: 2
Did I do a waking journal recall of my day before I went to sleep: Yes
Did I do any awareness concentration: Yes - sound and physical feeling

The reason I'm logging sleep and alarms etc is so I can try and perfect what works best for my dreaming states and recall.
    5. 2nd April 2014 - The beginning of LucidJordan's Dream Journal

      by , 04-02-2014 at 02:44 PM
Hello, welcome to my personal Dream Journal. I will try to recall my dreams as well as I can here. After having a dry spell of not being able to remember any of my dreams over the past couple of days I tried the method of writing out a waking day journal which was suggested by MasterMind in THS thread. I will also report my sleeping hours, my alarm hours, and the times I naturally wake up in between. I aim to get 8 hours sleep a day, but I usually end up with 9 or 10. I have been recording dreams on and off in my phone, but my recall efforts were so good this morning that I found it was taking a long time to write this stuff up on my iPhone's notepad app like I usually do, so here I will keep my journal from now on. I will use italic red to signal things that really exist, or to comment outside of the dream.

Also, I tend to go out with friends and stay in town a lot sleeping on couches and not getting much sleep for a few consecutive days. This is something I am not willing to give up, so it naturally interferes with my efforts to lucid dream. All journals here will be done when I am at home, or when I am in a comfortable state when I'm out and about.

      Got into bed at 1:30am
Lay on my back and relaxed for a good while and did some slow breathing techniques, then after becoming relaxed decided to go onto my side to sleep. I always sleep on my side, I cannot think of a single time I have been able to fall asleep on my back except for when I was extremely tired one day and had a midday nap, having what I can only think of as the spark that got me interested in Lucid Dreaming. (I'd been lying on my bed, absolutely knackered, and I closed my eyes because it felt really nice, but I wasn't trying to go asleep, just enjoy being comfortable for a few moments. Then all of a sudden I felt a euphoric feeling overcome me and I could see my room spinning around me vividly, this lasted about 5 seconds and then I panicked not understanding what was going on at all thinking I was really awake, and I opened my eyes and suddenly found I was still and not spinning at all. I was left feeling very confused and excited, in a very WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED mood).

      Alarm was set for 8:00am
      Fell asleep around 2:00am
      Woke up naturally at 7:50am
      Time asleep: Roughly 6 hours

      Dream 1
I was in a room with 3 of my good friends [Jay, Lloyd and Ash], and for some reason we got onto the topic of discussing who could beat the others physically in a fight. They were arguing between themselves when I interrupted and said I could beat them all up. They laughed it off and my friend Jay got my in a headlock.

      Dream 2
I was at a music venue, sort of half behind the stage but mostly on the side of it. Someone was playing to a crowd but the main focus of the dream was my friend Charlie who was standing in a smart white shirt and suit pants with a tie to the side of the stage. After the musician finished, Charlie announced that he had written a Superman story and that it was being published to comic. Everyone was excited and cheered. Then Lloyd shouted something from the crowd to me about me laughing my ass off, at which point the focus was on me, and I was laughing my ass off. I don't remember why.

      Dream 3
I felt like I was watching a documentary play out. It was about the people of the old city "Nyag". It was an old abandoned Asian town that felt like it had once been heavily militarized, but now empty of people. Two people were holding a chicken down and discussing an old method of stunning it so it could be prepared for death and cooking. The focus sort of went on to this old machinery that was a swinging motor with a stunning rod attached, but this dream faded off here.

      Back to sleep at 8:00am
      Woke up at 11:40
Time since last awakening: Roughly 3 and a half hours

      Dream 4
There was a knowing in my head that I had to attend a local music awards ceremony because I was receiving an award (albeit, a low ranking award). I showed up outside the building and my friend Lloyd came outside to meet with me, he gave me a bear hug and we went inside. The guy at the entrance desk asked me for my ticket, and I told him I was receiving an award, he proceeded to give me a ticket. Then me and Lloyd walked inside to a bar on the right hand side, and he left me there on my own. I can remember trying to see a television above the bar but a man sitting in front of me was blocking the view with his head. Then my cousin James showed up, and he had two drinks in his hand, vodka and lemonade it looked like, but I didn't find out. We walked on through to the awards hall and the same man who was on the entrance desk was here, I passed him my ticket and James passed him his, and one of us said "Thank you Mr Wallace". (I have no idea what this is a reference to). Then we went inside where I split up with my cousin and sat at a table with a bunch of fancily dressed people who I didn't know. I can remember not really enjoying their company, they seemed like snobs but I don't have any recollection of what they were doing. I must have been drunk or clumsy in the dream because my phone, passport and other things were scattered on the floor, but I picked up my things and headed over to my cousins table across the room. There was a sense that I had left the snobby people for the much more comfortable friends and family table, I felt much more at home there. I never ended up receiving my award but I remember the friend I had beaten by 1 vote had made me aware of my close win. The dream ended with discussions (that I can't recall) at table with my cousin and friends.

      Dream 5
Me and some friends were raiding some building in what appeared to be a First Person Shooter. I was in the upstairs part of the building defending against these ghillie suited up enemies that were swarming down from higher ground, the walls of this building seemed to have been bombed or knocked down, and it was all overgrown with vegetation. After I took out a lot of enemies I noticed one guy jump down the balcony and I jumped over with him in an effort to save a friend he was attacking. He bought down two pickaxes on a friend from above and i did the same to him in sync, but he didn't take any pain from my actions. Then it felt as though he was the last of the enemies and my friends grabbed him and held him down. There were 4 "good guys" now, me and 3 friends. Just as they went to take this last enemies life he threw a molotov cocktail and in a panic we all jumped into different areas to avoid it. It landed in the exact room me and a friend decided to jump into, fortunately it missed me completely but my friends legs were badly burnt. Then there were loud police sirens and suddenly the building became a modified version of my old house, and it was quickly going up in flames. Sirens started sounding louder and then we all knew the police would be here soon and we had to get out and flee the area. The friend with the burned legs couldn't escape and the other two didn't want to help, they left without him. I couldn't leave him behind so I picked him up and dragged him into the back garden, then I placed him on a chair and carried the chair across the garden (dat logic). We seen our two friends in the distance and they looked at us for a moment and then fled. I climbed a fence to the next garden and lifted the chair my burnt friend was seated on over to the other side, and repeated this into another garden. But this was fatiguing me greatly and there didn't seem a way for us to both escape. He looked at me thoughtfully and made me know that I had done enough, that I could leave and he was thankful for his life. Then I started super jumping over many gardens and came onto a road that was 20 or 30 meters away from my house. The sirens were louder than ever now and I knew I had to get out of here. Behind my row of houses there is really another row, and behind this row there is a place we really call "the backies", a grass area with a fishing lake that leads onto farms. I started heading for an entrance I knew about, and passed my cousin James' house (his house is on this row behind my row of houses behind my old home in real life). My cousin Sarah was playing in front of their house with some friends, she called me over as I passed and told me to look at what she was doing, which was jumping into the air and then crossing her legs and landing on the grass. I told her to stop because she might hurt herself, then kept on walking. An old friend Andrea appeared a few meters on and asked about what my cousin Sarah was doing, I explained the full lotus position and how it can hurt people who aren't flexible enough. Then I continued down the road, the sirens reminding me that I needed to escape. Looking for the entrance to the backies I found myself in a dead end, and had to hide behind a jeep to avoid a police car that pulled into the area.

Looking for the entrance led me back onto the row of houses my home was on, and there was a body of water separating the rows behind now, but I could see where I wanted to get to. It was as if the row of houses at the back weere now on a piece of land that was floating on the water. I went back the way I came and passed a friend called JohnDonaldson, he waved and said hi then disappeared. Then I found myself on this floating land area. This was nothing like the backies though, all of a sudden the place didn't resemble my old streets, it was like a little garden utopia that was floating on water. As I walked over this beautiful padded green vegetation with two strangers I found myself in a garden party and girl shouted over for us to stop walking on her carpets that she had just had laid down, these carpets were beautiful vegetation though. I suggested she put up a wooden sign to tell people to stay off the grass.

Then as I walked through the hordes of people I found myself walking into a building that was a space adventure center for kids. There was now a woman ushering me about, and I sensed that my goal was to escape and I was getting distracted, so I tried to leave, she then pushed me into a small room with two men and the door closed behind us, one of the men was a security man. I started panicking thinking I had been caught, but they told me not to worry. A door on the other side of the room then opened and we walked into a huge stadium sized half dome which was a cinema. We were on the back row which was the highest, and we were in the middle. It descended down in rounded rows to the bottom. The security guy was 10-15 rows in front of us and I started thinking about how I could escape whilst looking over all these people seated in the room. Two kids to my right started laughing at me and then I spotted a fire exit right on the bottom left, I immediately started jumping rows to get to it and took chase from several security men. I made it to the exit and came out into the streets of Liverpool City Centre, then there was some focus on the security guy who said he was unhappy I got away, he said he was using me to test out an alien device, so it turns out he had nothing to do with the police danger.

The dream ended with me contemplating how water tap systems might work (I have no idea why) and I seen 5 holes on top of one another, with the hole at the top being the smallest and the rest of the holes getting progressively bigger, and then a device that switched its connection to each of the holes according to the pressure being demanded, different size holes for different water flow. Then I thought this is system was overcomplicated, and imagined a lens shutter type eye which could collapse on itself and open to dictate how much water flows through.

EDIT - I almost forgot the best part. I also had a strange experience at some point that didn't feel like a dream, but more of an awareness whilst in a sleeping state. I felt like I was playing music and moving my hands to make the music, the feeling of moving my fingers wasn't present but it felt like this feeling had been replaced, and when I tried to move my hands or fingers it felt like music would play, and I felt like I was in a perfect state of harmony and rhythm whilst playing. I can't remember the sounds, only the experience. This is one of the most surreal things I have ever felt, I can't explain it too well. I hope it happens again!

WELL, that wasn't very exciting, I have definitely had more exciting dreams in the past. But I enjoyed recalling some vivid dreams for a change and I'm sure it will become much more easy to use reality checks if this vividness stays. I'm sure once I get control of my dreams things will become much more interesting. Cannot wait until I can log my first proper lucid dream that lasts more than 10 seconds!
