If you could draw this would be interesting to see. Good dream too

You disappoint me, taking on such a good form and losing so easily.

(I bet that's exactly what'll happen to me at some point, for my dream brain to spite me. )

Heh, that would be the logical thing to do. Unfortuantely, emotions cloud judgement, exponentially so in lucid dreams (and even more in non-lucid ones)...

Simple. I've dreamed of being in such an environment quite a number of times already, and mostly without intending to. I suppose the latter facet is what annoys me the most.
I can see where you're coming from.

I know in lucid moments you might not feel like you have the time, but have you considered "escaping" blockiness by for example quickly building a portal to somewhere that isn't blocky? I mean, trying to resolve the issue in a less direct way might be helpful? I know that in my case getting annoyed about a circumstance like that and also maybe trying to force it to change wouldn't help me in the long run, since I'd basically be antagonising myself. But I don't really know what your dream control is like exactly (I'm not you, after all ).

Why did the blocky voxel graphics start annoying you? (assuming I read that bit correctly)

Interpreting things that way really makes me look like a jerk, lol. "Stealing is wrong, unless I do it!"

As for zebra cakes, I guess they're a poor man's version of the above pastry. Being made of layered sponge cakes, the former wouldn't be anywhere near as flaky though.

And, in my case, 'warps', unless specifically noted, refers to unintended transitions or changes to the environment. So nope, I never planned doing such.

"Ceiling bashes robber's head, bruising the muscle, fracturing the skull."

Also, that pastry incident... "I totally didn't do it! My hand did it all on its own! *stuffed mouth*"

I had to look up what Zebra Cakes are; they remind me of "Mille-feuille" (or Thousand Leaves/Sheets). Did you "will it" to warp you somewhere else in the lucid bit, by the way?

If only that "better rewind time" thought worked in waking life.

Hey no worries. I've been having a little dry spell so I haven't been checking here as often as I'd like (since I come here to do the DJ).

And that's cool, that description reminds me of concept art I saw some years ago for some games. It's a theme I would like to paint myself but I really lack the finesse to do the lines required for it to look more than just too abstract (which I have done plenty of times before anyway).

Actually, thinking about it, this is something that bothers me; how the "dream" brain is quite good at scene generation and visualisation but then the "real" brain can struggle with making a scene exist through physical mediums, such as with paint, even when you're practiced in said mediums for more than a few years. Though I think it says something that I haven't done much sculpting but find it easier to come to a similar shape by sculpting what I imagined vs if I tried to paint what I imagined.

      Sorry for the tangent.

Oh man, sorry for the late response!

Well, I guess it's futuristic in the general sense of what's popularly depicted in sci-fi. Megastructures much taller, more variably shaped, and constructed of excessively shiny metals/glass not seen in contemporary times. Oh, and no visible pollution either. Just kinda remembered that.

I start to wonder what an ancient city would look like from that angle, and how ancient peoples would've react both to that and of the far more advanced marvels.
I often wonder what the places I visit would look like, if humans didn't exist at all. It's interesting to me that any place would probably simply look fundamentally different if that were the case, since we add a lot of artificial shapes and layouts to the environment in general.

Was the city dream-generated or did it remind you of any place (fictional or otherwise)?

Heh, no biggie. If I didn't want to discuss it, I wouldn't have posted this up in the first place!

Anyway, I suppose that's one way to look at things. I myself am disturbed of the prospect of allowing my mind to become too fluid. Open, yes, but also with rigid limits that should never be crossed. Dunno. Guess I'm just paranoid that way.

Oh and I always feel like commenting on some specific stuff, but I'm just not always sure on how to do it or if it's actually appropriate for me to ask people certain things.

      Hey, thanks for the reply!

      1. Eheheheh... There's plenty of reasons for that. Part of it's cause I often shrink myself whenever possible (and remember to do so).

      2. I just didn't like waking up knowing that I acted like a complete sociopath (whether part of a 'performance' and otherwise), even if this was just a dream. Kinda disturbs me.
      1. I kind of figured there might be plenty of reasons for it. I can think of some obvious ones that are probably not fine to say out loud.

      2. I suppose I can see what you mean, since you had been "feeling" that way, perhaps vividly. I would say you shouldn't feel too bad about it. Definitely have a personal boundary on what is ok and not ok to do, of course, but at the end of the day, I personally think dreaming is about exploration. What if I actually was a full-blown sociopath? I would still write down weird dreams like that and post them here, because at the end of the day it was a dream and didn't hurt anyone but maybe me.

In all honesty I have some of the most random "anarchist" type thoughts often, and for no good reason - considering I like to be nice to people and not ruin someone's life. But there's probably a part of me that goes "what if we DID ruin their life instead of making it better". It's very strange, since it goes against my nature. But one mustn't be too kind all the time; I suppose that's something I've learned in life...

      A small question, mostly curious for my own reasons, if you could answer it;

Why does (or why do you think) E becomes that size often? (as I understand it anyway)

Also, why did you not feel comfortable about posting the last segment? It didn't seem particularly bad or embarrassing or anything to me.
