    1. Dream where I was working for a catering company with over the top woman

      by , 11-06-2020 at 04:12 AM
I had a dream last night where I was working for a catering company and was serving as bartender at an event in the back yard of a really nice house. The house was a mansion with a terraced back yard that backed-up to a large lake or a river. I was working at the party with an athletic middle aged lady with shoulder length blonde hair and girl in her late teens or early twenties who had long blond hair that was pulled into a pony tail. The middle aged lady was in charge of the even and the girl who was her daughter was taking turns passing around finger food on a tray and then going back around and picking up empty plates and glasses. Sometimes she would also come-up to the bar where I was working and get a fresh drink for guests with empty glasses. I think the dream was set in the present time because the woman, girl, and me were all wearing masks and the party was outdoors and everyone was practicing social distancing.

The house and yard that backed-up to the water were beautiful and well maintained. I do not know whose house it was, but the yard looked like the grounds you would see at a palace. There was a boat house and dock that went out into the water at the end of the back yard and there were some really nice boats that were tied to it. While working at the bar, I would see guests to the party come and go in boats sometimes.

While I was tending the bar, I would see the woman walking around keeping an eye on everything and putting food out for the guests to eat. Sometimes I would see her keeping an eye on me. A few times she would come behind the bar when no-one was waiting for a drink to let me know things I was doing that she didn’t like and I needed to improve on. Sometimes she would come to have me make a drink for a guest. She definitely seemed to have very high expectations and seemed a little difficult to work for.

When the party was over, I got to go into the house to take things from the kitchen back to a green 1980’s Silverado with a camper top with the catering company log on it was parked in a remote corner near a utility building out of site from the mansion and grounds where the party had been. The house was one of the nicest I had ever been in with everything inside of it super nice and expensive looking. It looked like the inside of a mansion you would pay to take a tour of. Whenever I was in the house, the woman or girl always seemed to be nearby and made sure I was sticking to the task at hand and not looking around.

When we had everything out of the house and back in the truck, the lady told me to go ahead and get in the cab since I didn’t have anything else to do and she didn’t want me standing around. I open the passenger side door and sit down on the brown vinyl bench seat and then roll down the window and take off my mask because it is a little stuffy in the truck.

Not long after I start looking at my cell phone, the blonde girl is at the passenger side door. She tells me to scoot over to the middle and then opens the door and sits down in the passenger seat. As soon as she closes the door, she quickly rolls-up the window I and opened and then tells me to put on my mask and then tells me to buckle-up as she puts on her seat belt. I pick-up my phone to look at it, and girl tells me I need to keep it in my pocket and tells me that I need to sit-up strait and keep my hands in my lap like she is doing. I guess this is my first time working an event for them, because the girl is explaining to me how her mother expects us to act when we are waiting for her in the truck. She tells me that when we are waiting in the truck after an event that her mom expects us to sit up strait and stay still and look strait ahead because she wants us to look professional in case anyone sees us. She says we all have to keep our masks on whenever we are on the location where an even takes place incase someone sees us.

After we have been waiting for a few more minutes, I ask her why it is taking her mom so long to load everything back in the truck. She tells me she and her mom finished loading the truck before she got in with me and that her mom has gone back to talk with the hosts and make sure nothing was left behind. She tells me we probably won’t be going anywhere anytime soon because her mom usually spends at least 10-20 minutes with them and making sure everything has been cleaned-up. I start to slump down in the seat and the blond girl nudges me with her hand and tells me I need to sit up strait. I then turn my head towards to passenger side window to see if I can see what her mom is doing and she reminds me I need to be looking strait ahead. I them just focus on the water a few hundred yards in front of us wile the girl and I carry on a conversation and she gives me a heads-up about other things her mother will expect from me and keeps talking about other employees who either left or were fired because they didn’t meet her mother expectations. Whenever I am not sitting up strait or looking strait ahead, the blonde girl corrects me.

After we have been waiting in the cab for a really long time, her mother is finally opening the driver side door. I turn to look at her, and she tells me I need to just look strait ahead. I look towards her again when she is trying to start the truck, and she reminds me that I need to look strait ahead and sit up strait until we are out of there driveway. When she gets the tuck started and is putting it in gear, she reminds both me and her daughter that we need to look strait ahead until we are out of the driveway. She says she knows we want to look at the house and grounds while we are driving out, but she is afraid the hosts might see us starting and gawking.

I have to resist the temptation to look around during the drive out their really long driveway and not turn to look at the house or fountains and statues in the front yard. When we get to the end of the driveway, she reminds us both to keep looking strait ahead and then makes a left turn onto the road. After we get to the end of the road and make a right turn onto the next road, she tells us we can now take our masks off and look wherever we want. The daughter quickly takes her mask off and I take mine off right afterwards while the woman keeps hers on since she is driving. When she gets to a stop sign, she takes her mask off and then tells us that she will find a place to stop so she can get some gas and we can use the bathroom and stretch since we have a long drive ahead of us. As she keeps driving, she is telling us that the hosts seemed really happy with how the event went and thank us for both for working hard and making sure that the guests and hosts were well taken care of. She then told me that the hosts had mentioned to her that several people told them I made great drinks and she was happy to have me on their team. As the woman kept driving, I saw there were communities with golf courses on both sides of the road. I figured we were getting closer to town and a bathroom and stretch break.

When we got to a red light, the woman put the truck in park and then leaned over me and her daughter to pull a map out of the glove box. When the light turned green, she went through it and then pulled off the side of the road to look more closely at the map. I asked if she needed me to get her directions on my phone and she told me she was old school and like using a map. When done studying it, she leaned back over me to put in back in the glove box. After she was done, she sniffed around the interior of the truck and then told me and her daughter that she thought she smelled poo and told us to check our shoes. I looked down at my black shoes and saw that I had stepped in something.

I held off on saying anything until I heard her daughter say “not me”. I then reluctantly told her I had stepped in something. She then groaned really loud and started interrogating me. She asked me if I had checked me shoes before going into the house. When I told her no, she asked me the last time I knew my shoes were clean. When I told her I hadn’t looked at them since getting to the event, she slammed the truck in drive and speed to the first empty parking lot she could find lecturing me on how irresponsible it was not to be checking my shoe and the I should have known to always check them before going into someone’s house.

When she found a parking lot, she speed into a parking place and then slammed the tuck in park and turned it off. She told me she had to call the hosts to make sure no one had tracked into their house and that she would have to pay to clean anything I tracked on. As she was getting out, I started to undo my seatbelt to get out and clean my shoe when she snapped “stay” and then slammed her door shut.

As I watched her pacing around the parking lot and taking on the phone, her daughter was taking her turn lecturing me about how irresponsible I was not to check my shoes and that she couldn’t believe I was that careless when we were working at such a nice house with expensive things. She also suddenly noticed how bad the truck smelled and was telling me how gross it was that she was having to smell it.

I woke-up from this dream while the woman was still pacing around talking on her phone, not knowing if I had tracked anything into the mansion or if I was in the clear.
    2. Continuation of the Music Festival dream from night before last

      by , 08-27-2020 at 04:23 AM
I had a couple different dream fragments last night that were a continuation of the dream I had the night before where I was volunteering at the music festival with Kim and Tiffany.

The first dream started with me and Tiffany loading sandbags into the back of the old white half ton truck while Kim was pacing around talking on her phone. As we continued to grab sandbags and load them in the back of the truck, Kim got off a phone call and made a beeline to the back of the truck. She took a look and told us that we had loaded too many and needed to take about 20 back to the warehouse.

I tried to explain to Kim that I didn’t see anything wrong with having some extras incase we needed them, but she was adamant that she didn’t want to have to deal with unloading anymore than were necessary when they brought them back after the festival.

Me and Tiffany took 5 trips bringing sandbags from the truck back to the warehouse while Kim watched. After we were had taken the 20 extra sand bags back, Kim decided we were short 12. While we were bringing them back out to the truck to the warehouse, Kim got another call but paced around near the truck. When she felt like we had the right number in the truck, she told us we were good and to get back in the truck.

When we got back to the passenger side of the truck, I opened the passenger side door an stepped back and pointed to the brown vinyl bench seat. Tiffany blushed and worked up the courage to meekly ask me if I minded sitting in the middle again. I climb in and scoot over to the middle seat where I am straddling the stick shift. Tiffany then gets into the passenger seat and them immediately rolls up the window after closing her door. She then leans in closer to me and blushes again as she thanks me and tells me that she if kind of freaked-out by Kim. She explains that she rolled-up her window because she didn’t want Kim to hear us if we were talking about her.

As Kim continues to pace around the parking lot while talking on her phone, Tiffany asks me if I have ever worked with Kim before. When I tell her no, she starts asking about other events I volunteer at and I tell her all about the Fall Street Festival. She asks some questions about it and says she will try to get some friends to come an help volunteer there with her next year.

While I am telling Tiffany more about the festival and other volunteer opportunities she should consider, I hear her groan and then see Kim if off her phone and walking towards the driver side door. She climbs in and sits down in the empty driver seat to my left. Thankfully this is a really big old truck that could probably hold another person or two in the cab so I have plenty of room even though Kim is a large woman and Tiffany could stand to lose 5-10 pounds. Kim is telling us everyone want to talk with her as she puts the truck key in the ignition. Before she turns it, I hear her say damnit and then tell us she forget to close the warehouse. She takes the keys out of the ignition and goes to lock it up.

Me and Tiffany just look at each other and shake our heads after Kim gets back out. We both cannot believe we got coaxed into working with this crazy lady. While we are waiting for Kim to get back in, I hear my phone ding and check it to see a text from my girlfriend asking “R U OK”. I text her back to let her know that I have gone with a crazy lady to get sandbags and hope to be back in time to stop by to check on her before I start my shift checking id’s.

Tiffany then asks who I am texting and I tell her it’s my girlfriend who is also volunteering. She rolls her eyes and says “oh” as she moves closer towards the window away from me. I ask her is she has is dating anyone. She blushes again and twists her dark blonde hair for several seconds. She then starts to get a little emotional and tells me that her boyfriend broke-up with her a few weeks ago. She tells me she though he was the one and has been taking it really hard. She said that she thought volunteering today would be a good way to meet new people and get her mind off of this. I tell her I am sorry to hear she is going though this and I know she will find the right one when the time is right.

Things are starting to get a little awkward with Tiffany now that she knows I have a girlfriend and that she has told me she just went through a break-up. I turn my head away from her and see Kim getting off a phone call and then walking toward the truck. When Tiffany sees her, she shakes her head and says “here comes crazy”.

Kim opens the driver side door again and climbs back into the drivers seat. As she is putting the key back in the ignition, she tells me and Tiffany that we are going to need to make a detour. That she just got a call and we need to go to the airport to pick ups some trunks that just got in for a band playing later today. As she says this, I have a bad feeling that it could be a scary ride to the airport since we will be going on the interstate and Kim was scary driving on city roads.

I turn to look at Tiffany, and she is rolling her eyes and shaking her head. We communicate non-verbally though facial expressions while Kim gets ready to start the truck and we let each other know we are terrified about riding to the airport with Kim. I am tying out a not on my phone to show Tiffany asking if we should try to get Kim to take us back to the festival when I hear Kim shout “damnit” and then “why in the hell won’t this stupid truck start”. Both me and Tiffany and I turn to see Kim pumping the accelerator and turning the key and getting nothing but a buzzing sound. As both of us are watching Kim get frustrated and pound the dash and shout “damnit” each time the truck doesn’t start, I remember one time I had the same problem at the Fall Festival because the truck was out of gear. I after another failed crank, I ask Kim if she has the truck in neutral. She looks at the stick shift between my legs and then shakes her head in disbelief. She then puts it in neutral and the truck starts right up.

As Kim is pulling out of the parking lot, Tiffany elbows me in the ribs. When I turn to look at her, she is shaking her head and giving me a why did you just do that look. I wanted to tell her because I didn’t know how much longer I could deal with Kim shouting damnit in my ear. Tiffany just shook her head and rolled her eyes. When I turned away from Tiffany, I saw we were at a light getting ready to turn onto the interstate.

Things got really scary quickly. First Kim started yelling and screaming because an 18 wheeler did not move over a lane to give her more room to merge in. Once she got onto the interstate, she had terrible road rage and merged to the left as soon as she could to try to pass the truck. She did not have a prayer at getting the old truck up to enough speed to pass that truck, but stayed in the left lane for what seemed like forever when cars were passing us from the right side. She was honking and screaming at them. While still in the left lane going less than 55mph, her phone rang and she grabbed it to take the call. She almost hit the concrete barrier in the middle and then overcorrected and almost hit an 18 wheeler passing us on our right. I woke up from this dream in a panic as she overcorrected again and was heading strait for the barrier in the median.

The second dream I had was much shorter and ended early because my alarm went off. When this dream started, I was still in the middle seat of the truck with Kim to my left driving and Tiffany to my right in the passenger seat. We were off of the interstate and waiting at a traffic light near the airport.

As we got closer to the air cargo pick-up area, I noticed Kim was in the wrong lane and suggested she move over to the right lane. She told me she had been here many times and knew where she was going. When we go to the air-cargo sign, there was a car in the right lane blocking us from making the turn. Kim blared on her horn and started screaming and getting spit on me. She was not able to turn in, so we had to make a loop around the airport and then try again.

When Kim got to the parking lot of the air cargo building, she parked the truck in a parking spot and cut it off. She told me and Tiffany to sit tight when I asked if she needed us to help load the truck. She then left us to go into the air cargo building.

Now that Kim was out of the truck, me and Tiffany were taking about how crazy the ride to the airport was and how bad of a driver Kim was. Tiffany moved closer to me and put her arm around me and said she had to hug me since we survived the ride with Kim to the airport. She said she had never been so scared riding with someone.

As Tiffany continued invade my space and talk about the ride we had just been on, I heard my phone ding again and saw it was a text from my girlfriend asking “Where R U”. I replied that I was at the airport waiting in the truck for crazy lady. She texted me back “WTF”. When Tiffany saw me texting she meekly asked if it was my girlfriend again. When I told her yes, she leaned into me and said she would like to meet her and asked if I would take her by to meet her when we got back. I heard my phone ding again while Tiffany was talking and saw a text asking “Anyone else with you all”.

As Tiffany continued to talk about wanting to meet my girlfriend and talking about the ride we had just been on, I was trying to think of the best way to tell her that a college student was waiting in the truck with me. I knew that if I told my girlfriend I was with Tiffany I should definitely bring her by to meet her so she could see that while Tiffany was kind of cute she wasn’t my type and not a threat.

As I was picking-up my phone to text her that I was with a college student that I would bring by to meet her, my phone started vibrating a making a buzzing sound. I looked at caller id and saw it was her calling. As Tiffany was asking if it was my girlfriend calling me, I woke-up from the dream to discover the buzzing sound my phone was making was actually my alarm clock waking me up for the day.
    3. Dream about volunteering at a music festival with a crazy lady and young woman

      by , 08-26-2020 at 03:03 AM
I had a dream last night that I was volunteering at a downtown festival in the city where I live. Unlike the dreams I had the night before, this was not the fall festival that I help to put on. I think this was some type of music festival. I know I was just a volunteer doing what I was asked to do rather than helping to run the event like I do for the fall festival. This dream took place in a time where we were not dealing with COVID and things like masking and social distancing. The time this dream was set in seemed more normal.

When the dream started, me and my girlfriend were checking in at volunteer registration. We each got a yellow shirt that we changed into and a drawstring bag with some other goodies. My girlfriend had signed-up to help in the Kid Zone and not long after we had registered, some came to her and offered to give her a ride to the Kid Zone in her golf cart. I told her I would try to stop by and check on her when I had a break later on. She picked up her phone and pointed to it with her other hand which I knew meant for me to stay in touch by texting her periodically.

As my girlfriend was being driven away, the girl that had checked us in came up to me and asked if I would be willing to help with getting some sand bags. When I hesitated, she told me they were not that heavy and they just needed someone to ride over to a warehouse and help load them on the truck. When I told her that was fine, she pointed to an old While GMC Half Ton truck parked nearby and told me to go on out to it and that Kim would be there soon and would drive it and tell me what I needed to do. She said when I got back and got the sandbags unloaded to see her at they would probably be ready to have my start checking ID’s then.

I thanked her and then walked towards the truck. It was the same truck that I had in my last dream the night before. An old truck the city owns and loans every year during the fall festival. I have both driven and ridden in it may times. When I got to the truck and opened the passenger side door, the interior was just like the truck that they loan us for the fall festival. It had a well worn brown vinyl bench seat and dash with brown carpet on the floor with a stick shift in the middle.

I went ahead and got in the passenger seat of the truck and closed the door. Since it was a nice day, I immediately rolled down my window to let some fresh air into the cab. I started looking around to see if I could figure out who Kim was and wondered how much longer until he would get here and we could go to get the sandbags.

After a few minutes, a chucky girl with shoulder length dark blonde hair wearing a yellow volunteer shirt showed-up at the window and asked me if I was Kim. I told her I was not but was waiting for him. She asked if I was helping with getting sandbags and when I said yes, she said she had been asked to help too. She then opened the passenger side door and kind of blushed and said she kind of hated to ask, but would I be willing to scoot over. I went ahead and moved on over to the middle and let her have the window since I figured since she may not feel comfortable riding between two older men she didn’t know.

While we waiting in the truck for Kim, the girl and I talked. She told me her name was Tiffany and she was 21 and wrapping up her junior year of college. Like me, she had never volunteered at this event before, but needed some community service hours and though this would be a good way to earn some while also getting to enjoy some music.

While Tiffany and I continued to carry on a conversation while we waited in the truck for Kim, a big lady with shoulder length bleached blond hair and a blue shirt who I had kept seeing walking around with a clipboard approached the passenger side window to talk to Tiffany and I. She asked us if we were the ones helping with sandbags and we both said yes. She told us she was Kim and thanked us for helping her. She told us she had a few more things she had to get sorted out and then she would be ready to drive us to get the sandbags. I asked her if there was anything I could help her with and she said for us to just both sit tight so we would be ready to go as soon as she got done.

As Kim walked away, both Tiffany and I were looking at each other with a WTF type of look. We had both expected Kim to be a fit man, not an out of shape looking lady in her late 40’s or early 50’s. We both thought she seemed a little scatterbrained and we both commented to each other about it was we saw her walking around like a headless chicken.

After seeing Kim walk around and talk to different people for a while longer, I saw her coming towards us with some bottled water and granola bars. She reached through the window and handed them to me and Tiffany and then told us she needed to get the truck keys and would be right back out.

While I was sipping on the bottle of water, I saw Kim walking in front of the truck and then opening the driver side door and sitting down on my other side. The truck cab was big enough that I had plenty of room and personal space even though Kim was big and Tiffany was a few pounds over wight. After spending a minute or two playing with the key, the accelerator, and the stick shift between my legs Kim and the old truck running and we were on our way to the warehouse.

One the drive to the warehouse, Kim would start a conversation with me and Tiffany and then her phone would ring and she would take the call. It was kind of scary riding in the truck because Kim would get distracted while on the phone and would start drifting into other lanes. A few times, other vehicles had to honk at her to get her attention. I was glad when we finally got there.

Once Kim had to truck backed up to the loading dock, we all got out and then Kim fished for some keys and opened a bay door to the storage bay where all of the sandbags were. At first, she helped me and Tiffany move them to the truck, but then her phone rang and she walked away to take the call while me and Tiffany moved most of the sandbags to the truck without her help.

Eventually, Kim walked over to us and told us we had loaded enough sandbags and for us to get back to the truck. When we got to the passenger side door, I opened it up and stood aside hoping Tiffany would get the hint and ride in the middle going back. Her face blushed again and she asked if I minded.

I go ahead and get in the middle and give Tiffany the window seat away from Kim. After she is in and closes her door, she blushes again and says thank you to me. I can see Kim is still pacing around in the parking lot talking on her phone. Tiffany and I are both looking at each other in disbelief of how disorganized and scatterbrained Kim is. We both dread the drive back knowing it could get dicey if she is taking on her phone again.

Eventually, Kim stops talking on her phone and closes up the warehouse and then comes back to the truck. After she has climbed into the driver seat, her phone starts ringing again and she looks at it and then asks us to excuse her as she get out of the truck to take the call and pace around the parking lot. Tiffany and I both just look at each other in disbelief when she does this to us.

Eventually, Kim gets off the phone and back in the truck. As she is putting the key in the ignition, she tells us we need to run out to the airport so she can pick some things up. As she turns the key to start-up the truck, I am dreading the thought of having to ride on the interstate with Kim driving that truck. I look over at Tiffany and she has the same look of fear on her face.

When I look back over at Kim, I notice she is having trouble getting the truck starting. Nothing is happening when she turns the key and pumps the accelerator. The only noise that is happening is an annoying buzzing sound. After a little longer of watching Kim try to get the truck started, I am woken-up from the dream by the buzzing of my alarm clock which I expect was causing the buzzing sound in the dream.
