...from the dark corners of my mind...

DJ Log: November 18, 2012 – 6:45PM (USA Eastern)

(Note: After being awakened by the phone earlier in the morning due for an emergency call, I took a nap this afternoon to try and catch up on a little lost sleep.)

I am traveling with a group of friends on a highway. I am in my car with another guy and there are a few other friends in separate vehicles. I am leading the line of us in the right lane as several vehicles pass us in the left lane.

Suddenly, a huge wreck happens right in front of me. I brake and swerve to the right and end up getting sideswiped by one of the crashing cars. This pushes my car into the guard rail, causing my car to spin around in a circle. While spinning, a small SUV strikes my front end. My car finishes the full spin and then hits the guard rail again and slides to a stop on its left side.

After a bit of struggle, I manage to free myself and crawl away from the car. My legs are hurt, so I use my arms to drag myself away from the car and into the grass. As I crawl, I push away debris to avoid dragging myself over it. I find an inflated airbag laying in the grass, so I lean against it and then try to find out why my legs are tingling and won't work. My legs look fine. There are no tears in my jeans and no visible blood anywhere.

One of my friends who was driving separately runs up and asks me, “Are you OK?” I reply, “Yes. Is the passenger OK?” He replies, “He was taken to the hospital, but he is going to be OK.” I ask, “What was wrong?” He replies, “He got his leg caught under the dash.”

Suddenly, I can feel my legs again and they start working. I ask for a hand getting up. He helps me to my feet and I am able to stand up on my own. One of the medics walks over and asks me if I need assistance. I refuse medical assistance and he walks away.
