    1. The Conversation with my Subconscious

      by , 02-01-2019 at 12:03 AM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)
This was by far one of the clearest and most vivid lucid dreams I've had in a long time.

I dreamed of walking with two of my close friends, L and D, to a nearby gas station for drinks/snacks. It was a mild, clear night. The gas station had a bright fluorescent glow that illuminated everything nearby where it rested under the high way overpass. As we approached, we saw two squirrely looking guys hanging out on a nearby sidewalk. As we walked past they began talking to us, but our responses were short and hurried so we didn't seem rude as we weren't very interested in getting to know them.

I don't remember much of being inside, but we got what we wanted and left in a timely manner. We walked down a dark street that lead to my childhood home. There were two other guys, different guys, with us. DCs I didn't recognize. They were friends to us. I was walking 20 feet or so ahead of the group, listening to them carry on and laugh (specifically L's laughter is always nice to hear).

Looking at the sheen cast by the street light on the dark, sloping road before me, I thought to myself. "I doubt it, but what if I were dreaming? Hmm... Maybe I should just check." I took a couple steps and jumped into the air. In typical dream fashion, I began gliding as if in low gravity. "Ohh! Ooooh!!! I'm dreaming!!!" I looked back at the group to see they were walking towards a building close to the road. I jumped again and soared through the air, landing gracefully on the flat 3rd story roof. I opened the door and went inside.

I found everyone was already here, keeping the light and friendly mood. My friends sat on couches and bean bag chairs. D was behind his drumset looking happy as ever, talking enthusiastically with a DC. I walked over and sat on the couch. I turned to ask a DC something, but I forget what it was. He seemed distracted by another conversation he was having.

Observing and enjoying the general mood of the room, I looked around and really took in the detail of my environment. I thought to myself, "This dream is really vivid... I wonder how long this is going to last. I could be here forever if it were possible." I noticed some of the "Dream Fabric" ripple as I absorbed my surroundings in this highly lucid state.

To my left I saw another DC. She wasn't talking with anyone. She sat on a pillow behind a small alter that had two lit candles sitting on either side. She looked to be my age. Short brown hair, loose and comfortable looking clothing, dangling earrings. I got up from my seat and approached. I sat front of her cross legged, the room still buzzing with good feelings and warm energy.

"Why don't you just tell me when I'm in a dream?" I asked, not taking much time for the usual greetings. I felt I already knew who she was.

She smirked. "Isn't it much more satisfying when you become lucid by yourself? Besides, there would be so many situations where all we'd get would be blank stares in return, or you just wouldn't believe us."

This was a truthful smack in the face, but I retorted.

"Pfft, it's so not about my ego, you know this. I would be much happier to be lucid much more often if you guys just told me."

She glanced away, gave me a smile and shrugged. The conversation and laughter in the room had become louder; D had started playing on his drumset a bit, adding to the cacaphony and signalling an end to my conversation.

Just then, a DC approached me and tapped me on my shoulder. He said into my ear that he had something he created, a dream, that he wanted to show me. I said sure.

The scene changed immediately. I was under the ocean looking at an underwater city/ship wreck. It was lit by wavering sunlight from the surface and covered in seaweed and rust amidst a natural state of decay. Bubbles rose from the wreckage. I floated upwards and away from this gorgeous sight. I spotted a tiny baby sea turtle with a stream of bubbles behind him as he swam by me. I rose higher and higher until I broke the surface of the water and woke up.

This was one of the most interesting dreams I've had in a very, very long time. I think I've asked this question before, and have gotten the same answer. But it's probably been 10 years since. I have so much to think about, and much more I want to talk to this girl about. Having a conversation, especially with lucidity at such a level, has been a big goal of mine for a while. I'm so happy this happened!
      lucid , memorable
    2. Everyone Deserves a Second Chance

      by , 01-24-2019 at 01:35 AM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)
I've been experimenting with supplements on and off for the past two weeks. Vitamin B6 and Calea Zacatechichi. Last night I did not take any supplements, but still ended up becoming lucid to a decent degree. I think I'll take a break from experimenting with supplements for a hot minute.

This one is hard to describe. Vivid in memory, but trying to put the detailed emotion I felt on paper is difficult. I dreamed of being in a house that I owned in the dream. I was with a girl I had never met before IRL and I was shirtless as if I had just woken up from a nap. It felt to be around 2 or 3 in the afternoon on a summer day. There was a knock on the front door. The girl I was with got up to go see who it was, but somehow I already knew. It was my adopted little sister, about 12 (she looked really similar to Max from Stranger Things, red hair and freckles). "Oh, it's just some 12 year old." said the girl in the house, as if we should just ignore her. I could also 'see' or 'know' what my sister had with her. Next to her was what seemed like an animal.

-This is where things become hard to explain.-

It was in the shape of a large dog, but looked more like a living piece or oriental art. Incredibly hard to describe, but the feelings that were conveyed with it had a kind of depth that seems common in my dreams. I felt that my sister had brought home a living artifact that carried a kind of dark fate with it. I felt she knew exactly what she was doing, and that the only other person who could possibly understand this was me. Her motives were noble and clear to me, to somehow help whatever had gone wrong with this creature and/or its circumstances. I knew this other female in the house was going to be totally oblivious to what was going on. I knew I was going to have to kick her out no matter how pissed she would get.

And all of those thoughts reached my mind before I even got to the door to open it. I woke up as I was about to turn the doorknob. Awake, I lay in bed running through these details. I told myself over and over I'm not going to forget this one when I wake up again. I'm glad I didn't.

That kind of telepathy in my dreams has become very common. It seems like it makes it harder for me to question my reality if something absurd happens, because I'm usually expecting it.

I don't remember much about the beginning of this dream, but I remember being in an empty college cafeteria when I came to the realization I was dreaming. I immediately felt my body laying in bed and had that familiar sensation of a fading dream. I knew I only had a few precious seconds left in this reality - "Oh wait, stabilize it!!" I said to myself. I began rubbing my hands together out of instinct, and then began trying to feel sensations to ground myself. As I walked, I felt grass between my toes even as I was walking across the tile floor inside the building.

I salvaged a fading lucid dream! Yes! Exactly what I've been wanting to practice!

I ran outside and down the street. I kind of went into a 3rd person ghost mode as I witnessed a scene happening in front of me. I came across an elementary/middle school and went inside. Kids had just left the classrooms and were at their lockers. The principal was talking over the PA system. He said

"I hope you all have a nice day today. Remember, nobody's perfect. People make mistakes sometimes, and everyone deserves a second chance."

I recognized that voice. Just then, a large vehicle with a mounted gatling gun drove over the curb and onto the front lawn of the school. Several visibly angry men and women got out and began hollering and yelling at the open front doors. Parents and teachers came from their cars and classrooms, curious as to what the commotion was. The kids were rushed into the empty classrooms and locked in for safety.

The angry mob demanded that the principal come out and "face his fate". They screamed and jeered endlessly as the quiet barricade of onlookers stood silently with stern faces. The principal pushed between the crowd of people and came directly to the front. (IRL this man is a disabled veteran I did work for a few months ago. In the dream, he was walking but still was skin and bones, bushy beard and loose hanging wire glasses) His name is Bob. Bob's energy about him radiated nothing but peace and understanding, but this mob was having none of it. Their anger seemed to intensify to the point of overflowing.

Still in my 3rd person ghost mode, I sensed this danger. I floated up and behind the person standing behind the mounted gun. As they grabbed the gun and shook it, I took this as a threat. I pulled out my knife and slashed the man's throat. The mob immediately took notice as the body lifelessly fell to the ground. They immediately scattered in all directions leaving the car behind.

The dream ended and I woke.

Along with telepathy, my dreams can sometimes turn violent. I often feel like the dream plot forces me to resort to violence to save either myself or other people I care about. Sometimes it can be really unsettling.

    3. The Dragon Chase - A successful DEILD

      by , 01-13-2019 at 04:59 PM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)
I was finally successful with the DEILD methos, and managed to chain two lucid dreams together.

I was in the form of Stan from American Dad initially. I just caught wind that a dangerous organization was after me and my family. I ran back to my house, which was a decent sized tree house a couple stories up in a tree. My family was the wife and two kids in the Incredibles. We were all frantically packing the things we needed when I started catching wind that they were about to roll up on us. I shouted for everyone to leave immediately. They were on it. They jumped from the back door and glided down effortlessly. My wife lead them on foot through the fields that stretched as far as the eye can see. I started getting that familiar feeling and began to realize I was dreaming.

I looked out a window and saw a black limo pull up and park beneath my front door. It was them. I shouldered my bag and jumped out the back door, gliding down and then used that momentum to take a couple steps and launch myself into the air once more. It felt like low gravity mixed with being on a hang glider, or Crouching tiger hidden dragon. As I gently descended, I would push off the ground and launch back into the sky at great speed.

I repeated this process of jumping - gliding - jumping and began getting faster and faster. I was conscious that looking down even when I was 30 or 40 feet in the air didn't bother me. The ground turned to flooded, barren corn fields up ahead. I could see I had almost caught up with my family. As I got within earshot, I greeted them to let them know I was safe and then kept at the rear of the group. We dashed around tree lines that separated the square acres of field and came upon a gas station in the middle of nowhere. I took one last jump and made it on top of the room that hangs over the gas pump. The wife and kids dashed inside for drinks and snacks. I surveyed the area briefly. It wasn't a tiny gas station, but a Sheetz that would get a good deal of business. We all felt it was a safe place to take a rest. I dropped down from the roof and walked inside. My wife approached me and said "Honey, they have a place we can stay for a while. It's a motel." I and everyone else was relieved.

I woke up and without thinking, rolled over and opened my eyes a bit. I was really hoping to get back into this dream using the DEILD method. As quickly as I could, I got comfortable and began trying to envision those flooded corn fields, walking on the surface of the water, jumping high into the air. And before I knew it this reality faded, and the dream world I was envisioning materialized right before my mind's eye.

I was standing outside the motel side of the gas station, staring into the wispy blue sky, feeling the cool air calmly blow past me. I thought to myself "Alright, I'm back. But what should I do now?" The ground began to rumble and a deep roar vibrated the air. To my left coming down the dirt road was a dragon, and it was coming straight for me. I guess my dream wanted to make things interesting for me. I took off, pushing hard against the ground and launching myself into the air just as before. But this time there was a real sense of danger and franticness, because this dragon had no problems keeping up with me. As I covered some distance, maybe 1/4 mile, the ground became more and more saturated until it was all just flood water with broken bits of corn stalks poking through. I thought of my experience walking on water in a lucid dream I had a few weeks ago, and found I was much improved. Every time my feet touched the surface, I was able to push off with plenty of force to send me flying. I looked back to see the dragon had gave up running, and is now swimming towards me. And it was MUCH faster at swimming. So much so that he would be on me within a minute.

I changed course and shot off through a line of trees. I saw the back of a very large building up ahead, what seemed like a mall. I ran and jumped once more, using my feet to push myself vertically. I couldn't take it all in one leap so I pounded up the rest of the way with my feet and hands against the brick. Looking back, the dragon had resurfaced and was definitely slowed down by the tree line, but it was quickly figuring out how to squeeze through. I still had several ledges to climb before I would be out of the dragon's reach. I continued my ascent, leaping 10-15 feet in the air and catching the brick corners, then pulling myself up. On one of the highest ledges, I saw a hole the size of a football in the brick. I tried to peer inside, but I couldn't. It almost seemed like this was here intentionally, like a video game designer put this here as a reward for the curious gamer who explored this part of the map. I opened my palms and gave a mighty shove, yelling "HAH!" The brick exploded back into a hollow cavern that contained and jeweled, stone rabbit and two small treasure chests. I grabbed the stone rabbit by the ears and began running again. I didn't have time to waste with this dragon still hot on my tail.

      I woke.

It seemed that my lucidity gradually wore out as the dream progressed. It definitely peaked when I was looking at the sky outside of the motel, when I had a chance to calm myself and wonder what to do next in the dream. But the more preoccupied I was with the action going on, the less I was able to think clearly about anything else. However, my DEILD was successful, and that makes me happy and excited to expand upon it!
    4. Biting Ants

      by , 01-12-2019 at 01:12 AM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)
I dreamed of helping preparre for a summer BBQ party. I had to run down to the basement of a house I had lived in a long time ago. I walked across the carpeted concrete floor barefoot. I had grabbed a bag of red plastic cups when I felt a stinging sensation in my toes. I looked down to see the floor crawling with ants. A few looked to be fused together, latched onto one of my toes and continually chomping down. I tried over and over to shake them off to no avail.

I was in the dairy section of a grocery store. In this dream, for some reason I had a 5 year old daughter I was looking after. I remember keeping a close eye on her as she browsed the items on the shelves and in the coolers. She came upon a rack that was filled with colorful pool noodles, and she seemed fascinated. For the first time in a long time, I thought to do a reality check in my dream. I held my nose and inhaled, breathing in a full lungful of air. I was able to consciously think to myself that I was indeed in a dream, but everything was so blurry and faded I couldn't hold onto any small bit of lucidity. I soon lost what little focus I had and the dream soon ended.

This is a step in the right direction; I'm noticing my efforts paying off and it hasn't been a full two weeks yet! I have no intention of slowing down, so hopefully it's only a matter of time before I'm fully lucid regularly.
      lucid , non-lucid
    5. Young Brothers, I can fly

      by , 05-25-2016 at 02:35 PM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)

I was visiting friends- two brothers. They were still young, 8 and 9, but I was the age I am now. I entered through their window on the second floor. They father told them to go to bed for the night but it was only 7 or 8pm. He heard us talking and moving around and started coming up to their room. They told me to hide, because he was going to be pissed. I wasn't worried about it. I turned invisible. He burst into the room, telling them they need to go to sleep and that they had no more warnings. I tried to cling to the edges of the room to avoid him colliding with me and being exposed. In his erratic pacing, he came within inches of me as he made his way back out, shutting the door behind him.

I uncloaked and went straight for the window (which he shut). My friends told me not to open them, that they were really loud. I didn't listen. I opened a window and popped out the screen. I handed it back to them and helped put it back in before I left. I scaled around the house, climbing nimbly. I almost climbed right out in front of the dad who was sitting on the second floor porch in a lawn chair. Thankfully he didn't see me.
I jumped off the side of the house and began flying through the air. I propelled myself by throwing my arms back behind me, like rowing through the air. I glided quite gently, but I wanted to go faster. I swung my arms back and forth frantically, picking up speed. I soared over houses and stores and ended up landing about a block away

I was on a narrow concrete pathway surrounded by overgrown bushes and plants. Dan, Jenna, and Zach were there. I don't remember much else from that situation. I remember thinking it was still really early in the night and I had a whole bunch of time left to dream. I woke up and saw I was only 3 minutes away from my alarm.
    6. A House of Flowers, Piercingly Blue Sky, Subconscious Tattoos!

      by , 01-10-2015 at 06:18 PM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)
I dreamed intensely and lucidly. I remember my mom and step dad were getting married. I wasn't too thrilled about it. The house they had was huge and very nice. A blue white color scheme. There were lots of guests and this reception. It was very hard to get through the house because of all the racks of clothes and endless walls of flowers lining the rooms and hallways. My room was untouched thankfully. I took refuge in there and ended up falling asleep on the floor next to a few of my belongings. I woke up, changed into street clothes and packed my things to leave. My parents were asking me how it all went for me and other trivial things but I didn't have much interest in listening. I answered them shortly and was on my way.

I was outside on a beautiful sunny day. The downtown square of the town where I grew up. The sky was a very deep, gorgeous blue with light streaks of clouds. I could feel the breeze and the sun on my skin. The entire area was empty except for me and someone who I think I met before in school. He was talking to me while I realized I was dreaming. I jumped onto a cool, steel street light post that ran horizontally across the street to hold street lights. I stared up at the beautiful sky and thought "wow, that's the prettiest dream sky..." I jumped down and started running down the street. I thought of techniques I could do to enhance the dream but I felt I would just get corny results.

I then thought of a meditation book I have and how it used guided meditation that involved going down stairs to guide you to a dream world. I thought of how that could guide me to my subconscious. For some reason, I imagined finding a dentistry office. I found a door to one of the buildings on my right and opened it. Inside were dark, creaky stairs leading down to another door. I didn't even hesitate. I ran down them and burst through the door. I had entered a waiting room. It was quiet except for a light buzzing and whirring sounds of tattoo guns. Beside me was a tattoo artist working on someone's tattoo. The tattoo artist looked up at me, surprised. She had dark rimmed glasses and pink streaked hair tied in pigtails. She wore a black tank top and was covered in tattoos. I immediately apologized for interrupting and went to the counter. I started talking with another female tattoo artist about my tattoo. This one had on a similar black tank top and dark rimmed glasses but she had blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail. I described how much I was quoted on it, the details, the color scheme. She looked really enthusiastic as I told her this. She immediately pulled out a tattoo gun and told me to lay my arm on the table. I did as she told and then piped up, explaining how I never got a tattoo before. She started pushing the needle in my skin. I didn't feel anything. And then I "woke up".

I was in the back of a car that two of my bosses (and role models) were driving. I was ecstatic about the dream I had and I began to tell Carrie, the one in the passenger seat. She didn't seem very interested in me at all. She seemed distracted. I struggled to remember any details of the first dream for a little while until the colors started flowing back to me. I remembered a part I hadn't originally recalled.
In the narrow hallways of my parents house, the ones lined with flowers, several marionettes hung by the back of their shirts among the flowers. They came to life and started offering me the candy in their pockets before I was able to get to my room. I had declined and kept walking. Carrie asked me a few questions, prodding for detail, and I was able to answer them. I then woke up for real.

      lucid , false awakening
    7. Rainy Day Lucid

      by , 12-08-2014 at 07:48 PM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)
As the dream formed I knew exactly what was happening. I knew I was dreaming. I remember looking at my hands which at first were blurry but felt real. I breathed through my nose while holding it, my favorite reality check. The air in my nose felt really strange (another indicator). I tried thinking of my waking reality and wondering if I were conscious of that at all at the moment. I don't think I was which made the dream even more clear and vivid. I saw my two musician friends ahead of me, walking. One had my coat on for some reason. We were in an industrial area. The sky was very cloudy and dismal. We took a turn down a wide alley between two warehouses. I remember watching the ground as we walked. The rough gravel turned into a brown muddiness. I saw large holes in the ground. I thought to myself that those must have been some huge groundhogs or something. Must've been dog sized. I stepped over them, hoping they weren't going to collapse under me. They didn't. By this time it started to rain lightly. My two friends were still walking on ahead. I saw a door leading into one of the warehouses on my left. They approached the door but by the time I got to them the dream had faded.

    8. Ego Trip

      by , 11-11-2012 at 09:25 AM (Re-entry: The Atmosphere)
Last night before I slept, I sat on my bed and listened to some music before shutting my computer down. I thought to myself random bits of things I've wanted to do in a dream. And then I went to sleep..

As soon as I entered the dream I was aware of exactly what was going on. I was dreaming. I was in a vivid thought full of perception from each of my five senses. This was real.

I was walking down the main road I used to live on by a Circle K. Everything seemed to become fuzzy and blurry. Like the air was thickening. I looked down at my arms and at the scene before me and willed it to become more vivid. It happened. My will power was law in this world. I felt strong. I felt powerful. I felt unstoppable. I remembered something I thought of before I went to sleep. Something I've always wanted to do in a dream. I felt this energy rising up in me, and I extended my arm out and pointed it across the road. I forced the power to expand and grow until it shot through my arm and burst out of my palm in the form of an arc of lightning. It hit a car across the street and it was like the dream itself exploded. In that moment I thought that I forced this to happen, that it wasn't natural and not as good as if it were to happen naturally. And in that moment, the dream was blown to bits and went black. End.

This was a complete ego trip and it was pretty darn cool!
