    Chinese Sorcery and Winter Antics

Morning of December 13, 2014. Saturday.

The first part of my dream reveals that an icy winter is in what should be Australia, as the setting is our Barolin Street house, though reflecting an American winter (in reality, it is quite hot here and there has certainly never been deep snow about). There is very deep snow and ice everywhere, unrealistically so as there is implied traffic now and then, which would not be able to get through otherwise (even though cars and trucks apparently go by at times with no implied difficulty - however, this is not fully resolved with actual imagery, which seems to “reset” at least once). The scene seems to be later at night, possibly around nine o'clock. At one point, I stand in the doorway of our porch admiring the winter scene though realistically I would not be able to get to the store should we need food or supplies.

The large black dog from a previous dream (of yesterday) seems to be in this one but not as much as a nuisance. In fact, when I become aware of the potential of it being a nuisance (it seems to have been on our porch for a short time), it runs out into the snow and into an unrealistic rut (I say unrealistic because even though there appears to be a parallel set of ruts as if vehicles had traveled through the snow, the wheels would likely have to be five feet high to clear the snow depth in the middle). Additionally, I am semi-lucid, but not enough to take full control or fully acknowledge I am dreaming, only trying to work out if the dog will be run over, due to the fact that the rut is too deep to get out of should a car or truck suddenly drive by. After a time, I am fairly certain that an approaching truck will get him, though I do not actually see it happen. I am vaguely aware that a snowplow had gone by even though there is no visual evidence that one had.

This brings me to again reflect upon just how oddly distorted (and “illogical”) some dream scenes are. The “too deep ruts” remind me somewhat of when an arm came through a window from outside to annoy me even though I was on the second floor of a house (and how in a much older dream, a giant monster appears outside from around the shoulders up in a first-floor window, implying he would have had to be standing in a deep hole to validate the perspective).

My dream shifts to where an unwelcome visitor is in the house, though at this point, it seems I am in someone else’s home (unknown). The man seems to be a salesman and is holding documents relative to his sales talk, though the seeming resident of the house is in another room. A couple other people are sitting in chairs, though the salesman is standing near an armchair that a somewhat disinterested listener is sitting in. I make a comment about why he thinks he has the right to come into someone’s house and start talking in this manner and trying to get people to buy something they may not need or want. For some reason, I become more annoyed at his arrogance and imposition (even though, again, it does not seem to be my home) and direct small transparent flames from my fingertips to set the documents on fire. Once the fire is burning more of the paper, he hurries out, dropping them, but the fire goes out after completely burning up the documents he was holding.

After this, there is a second scene of fire production where I am outside in a park (seemingly afternoon) and again set fire to some papers someone is holding. In this case, it seems to be a homeless person who is curious about my pyrokinetic ability, though he does not seem to see it as all that unusual. A couple other homeless people appear. I burn more papers, but sometimes notice it takes more concentration to produce a bigger flame.

In a third scenario, I am in some sort of school that vaguely resembles part of my old middle school. An old Chinese man is teaching pyrokinetic martial arts. The rules must be followed as closely as possible. However, at a couple points, someone else has to remind him of something (relative to a certain martial arts move or general task) because he seems to be slightly senile, yet somehow still a powerful teacher. I do a few martial arts moves, on my own as well as with a few younger people, gracefully directing fire from my fingers at the same time as other fluid moves occur (which reminds me vaguely of the recent dream with my wife and a cobra “dancing” in perfect harmony, precisely doing inversions of the other’s moves). There are two hall-like areas with a set of shelves at the end near a more open area. The shelves apparently contain various props for pyrokinetic tasks.

I boil water several different times (in a couple different areas of the building) by sending cylindrical heat rays through all of my fingers at once. This part of my dream is the most vivid. I can even feel a sort of “wind” moving about my hand as well as seeing hollows in the water’s surface where more pressure is blowing down as bubbles appear and I actually hear the water beginning to boil quite clearly. It seems like some sort of competition, though I eventually lose interest and would rather make fire (and burn paper) than boil bowls of water. I mostly use my right hand in all the scenes - or at least it has the most energy to direct my mental intent. I contemplate “burning” the water, but that seems vaguely implausible.

Continuing the martial arts scenario, I burn newspaper pages that are held up by someone else. There is another seeming contest, though one has to go through a specific cluttered hall to get to the room instead of going through another clearer way. This irks me somewhat as I am already losing interest and realize I am only a visitor to the school rather than a long-term student. Being annoyed by having to go around clusters of chairs, I instead rise in the air and fly over that part of the hall, kicking some of the chairs over as I go just to express what I feel is needlessly problematic if one would be walking through the hall. Rather than “perform” more for a visiting audience to give publicity to a school I am not enrolled in, I then fly very fast out of the building, deciding to return home, knocking more chairs over as I zoom out through a window.

Fire and ice has been more common in my dreams of late (at least in combination). In fact, I had just mentioned this type of dream on a forum yesterday, though someone else had started the thread.
