    Lucid Dreams

Had lots of vivid dreams, but didn't write anything down during the night - I thought I'd remember them. Of course I don't. Only remember fragments now. But I do remember having 2! LD's! First one started by me doing a nose plug RC. I remember being in my living room at home, thinking "yay, lucid!" and that I should look around me at the details of the dream to stabilize the it. I've been struggling with staying lucid, so I found it better to just try to stay lucid for a while rather than try to do some of my dream goals. I looked in a mirror on the wall, I could see my face and that I was still doing the nose plug RC (I kept my nose plugged for a minute or two, just so I would stay lucid). I kept looking at my face as I moved closer and backed away from the mirror several times. Soon it started getting a bit creepy, so I decided to stop and do something else. I levitated and flew slowly mid air through my living room looking at details, marveling at how realistic everything was - although I don't remember the details, only the feeling and my thoughts. I remember thinking that I was doing a good job keeping lucidity, it felt like I managed to stay in the dream for a decent time, but I don't remember much more.

LD nr 2 was a very short one, or at least I don't remember much about it. All I remember is this: I was driving my car on a high way. There were forests at both sides of the road, and as I was going down a hill (in high speed) I thought to myself "since this is just a dream I could drive off the road and fly the car over the tree tops of the forest. I immediately steered the car off the road and it flew in a sharp upwards bend over the trees. As it happened I thought to myself that perhaps next time I should do a RC first, just to make 100% sure I'm actually dreaming before driving my car off the road!

Tried a WBTB today. I woke up after about 5 hours, and lay awake for about 30 minutes. Felt like I just would not get back to sleep. I heard the traffic outside and got a bit annoyed by the noise. I sort of gave up on the WILD attempt and put on a podcast on my phone (using ear phones). It was Lucid4life podcast.

After a while I must have fallen asleep, but I was dreaming I was still in my bed trying to WILD. I got up, thinking it was hopeless, and went downstairs. It was a mix between our current home and our last home. I went into the office room and looked out the window. It was dark outside. I didn't want to go out for a cigarette after all. Somewhere around here I was thinking that this big, almost empty, office room should be furnished with the furniture we don't have room for in the living room. I went to the kitchen. On top of the fridge there was several paper/plastic bags filled with huge brussels sprouts. H. apparently had discovered that they were ripe and picked them from the garden. When I saw the brussels sprouts I immediately knew I was dreaming, I heard H. come downstairs and hurried to do a nose plug RC just in case. I knew I was going to be able to breathe, and I was! H. came around the corner, I resisted the temptation to tell him it was a dream. Instead I just kissed him and we started some sexy time. This woke me up in just a few minutes, and the Ld was over.

      H. is sitting by the computer. He's ordering a "gi" for me (a suit to use for jiu jitsu). He's ordering a purple one, and I say I didn't want a purple one, I wanted a blue one. I realize we're at the gym, and the man behind the counter says he'll arrange that I get the blue one. The gym is different, they have rebuilt the locker rooms. There's one very large hall dedicated to the men's locker room. The room is divided into sections in alphabetical order, so you have to use the area that corresponds with the first letter of your surname. I walk through the men's locker room to get to the women's area. There are only three small rooms for the women to use. I go to the door that reads T - Å, since my last name starts with T. I get a feeling something is not right and do a nose plug RC. for a second I can sort of breathe through one of my nostrils, but it suddenly clogs up, and I can no longer breathe. I decide to try another RC - just to be sure I'm not dreaming. I look a my hands, they look normal! So it's not a dream ... I look at my digital wrist watch, it says 09.21. Then I look at a digital clock on the wall, it says 13 something. I think to myself that one of them is incorrect, so I decide to look at my wrist watch again. It shows different numbers each time I look. Can it be a dream? I do the nose plug again and it works! I'm lucid! I should stabilize the dream, so I walk over to the wall and start touching it with my hands. It's uneven and feels rough to the touch. Yellow color. I touch the curtains, wondering how everything can feel so real! I look around me trying to figure out what to do. I don't remember my list of "lucid-to-do-stuff", and just climb onto a counter nearby and start looking in some baskets and cabinets searching for some food. In the process I lose lucidity, and the dream continues on and shifts to my work place.

Something about plants still left in the garden center, and something about changing some areas inside the shop. I sit talking to M.B. She has been on a mountain hike. Something about the cache registers, there's a man there. He's a comedian or a semi-famous person. He has to step out of the way when customers come, because he doesn't know how to operate the cache register. (I remember seeing two hexagon shaped "garden canter tables" with shrubs standing in my drive way at home, but don't remember where they fit in in the dreams)

Something about A.K. I've been talking to her on the phone. She seems cold and distant. There's something about Christmas trees, I've promised to get her (and some other person) a nice looking Christmas tree. I go to my car, the doors are open and there are spruce branches sticking out. I pull out the trees, and see that they are not as nice looking as I thought. Although very compact and a nice size, they are very uneven.

    4. 05.11.15 First lucid in months!

      by , 11-06-2015 at 11:31 AM (Chessica's Dream Journal)
I haven't been actively trying to get lucid for almost a year, but a few days ago I started reading about lucid dreams again and started doing the nose plug RC in waking life. I had a semi-lucid dream the first night, just doing the nose plug and realizing I was dreaming, but lost lucidity almost a once. But tonight I had a real lucid!

I was standing in my mothers old house. I was in the toilet, only it didn't look like the real toilet - it was more of a public toilet with several doors/booths (that is a really strong dream sign for me). I walked out the door and closed it, but thought to myself "such a toilet would be a common occurrence in a dream, maybe I should go back in and do a RC." So I did. Went back in and did a nose plug. It worked! I could breathe! I almost could not believe it, everything felt so real. I didn't expect it to be a dream! I decided o test gravity and started jumping small jumps into he air. The ceiling was low, so I could not jump high, but I could feel a slight difference in gravity, as I didn't fall down as quickly as I expected. I went out of the toilet, and downstairs. I jumped up and flew in to the living room, staying about mid air. I saw H. sitting on the couch. I tried to remind myself it was a dream by saying it loud to myself. ", It's a dream, it's a dream" Then I remembered I should probably try to stabilize he dream. I remembered a method I'd read about where you should "make out" with the ground. Haha. So I did, I lay down on the floor and started making out with it. I could feel my lips on the wood, and felt my hands rubbing it. I started thinking how it probably wasn't a good idea to be kissing a floor (bacteria, although at the same time I realized it didn't really matter as it was only a dream), I decided the dream was stable enough and got up. I looked around me. H. was still on the couch. I got really excited, and tried remembering what I wanted to do if I got lucid. Nothing, could not remember anything. But wait, suddenly I remembered the task of the month! I should bite H, and see how he reacts! I went to him laughing, bent down and bit his shoulder. I could feel the fabric of his shirt in my mouth, but i wasn't a very hard bite. He started laughing too, and that was the only reaction I got. I thought "what else? What should I do with my lucid?" I was looking in my purse and found a large baguette with chocolate stuffing and frosting. I shared it with H, it tasted delicious! (this was not intentional, but I was still lucid) I asked H if we could go outside, thinking I wanted to do something more with my LD, and he said I could go visit the kitten in the apartment down by the river. Apparently there was a kitten in need of some food and cuddles. Obviously I thought this was a great idea, and went to the kitchen to find some cat food or tuna or something to bring. At this point the dream was taking over the plot, and I lost lucidity.

The dream continued on and I remember something about a kitten, but not much else. I remember a lot of other dream fragments from the night too, but the lucid is the vivid one, and the one I feel is important to write down. So great to have had a lucid again after not thinking about dreams for so long! I have to dust off my LD-abilities and start doing my RC's and WBTB's again.

I had another short lucid last night. I dreamt I was lying on a mattress together with some other people. They were strangers. In my dream I woke up (FA) because I had to pee. In fact I dreamt I had already started peeing. I "woke up" and hurried up from the mattress, afraid that I had peed on it. Luckily I hadn't. I did an RC, looked at my hands. I had a tiny extra finger on my middle finger. Lucid! I thought to myself I have to stabilize, and I layed down on the carpet rubbing it with my hands telling myself "I'm dreaming". It all felt very real. The dream ended not long after, and I don't remember doing anything more than rub the carpet and getting up again. Maybe except looking at my hands again. They still looked funny. I had some other dreams too, in particular one about being chased by a bear.

Had a LD again last night (or I might have had several). My recall isn't that good at the moment, haven't been keeping up with writing down my dreams. All I remember is becoming lucid by pinching my nose. I remembered wanting to meet Vladimir Kramnik and went looking for him. I remember finding him, but not much more. I have a vague feeling of having several episodes of pinching my nose and getting lucid. I also remember "waking up" (FA) and writing down my LD's in my journal (I remember writing that I had at least two, but maybe four LD's), but when I actually woke up I of course discovered that my dj was empty.

I had a short lucid. A tiny one. All I remember is pinching my nose, the RC worked and I was lucid! I went outside (from somewhere) and before I could do anything I felt myself waking up. I tried to fight it, to stay in the dream, but I lost lucidity. Not sure if I actually woke up or if it was a FA.

I'm out fishing or something with H. We are down by a lake, the lake is milky white in color. A small fire is beginning to smolder a few metres away. H. rushes over to put it out. I follow him. We try to put it out by stomping on it with our feet, but it's not working. I pour the rest of a soda bottle on it and run to get some water from the lake. We successfully put the fire out. We then look up and see smoke rise into the air from a place further up the hill, I get H. to call the fire department. but they don't answer the phone. We get into the car and drive up there. When we reach the top the dream has shifted a bit. H. is no longer sitting beside me in the car, and I have just parked the car at a parking lot in front of my house (only it looks nothing like my house). When I look to the side I se the parson sitting beside me in the car is Magnus Carlsen. I'm supposed to drve him home, and I've apparently forgot it and parked at my house. I get a bit embarresed about driving to the wrong place, so I make up a little lie. I tell him I've forgotten my wallet with my drivers licence in it and I'm going to go get it. When I walk inside the house I see my wallet lying on the front stairs. I find that a bit strange, and as I walk inside I do a RC, a nose pinch. It works - I can breathe! I'm dreaming. Without knowing why I did this I walk straight back out to Magnus Carlsen and go in for a kiss. He backs off a little, but I assure him it's ok - it's just a drem. lol We make out. Really make out. I can feel that he hasn't shaved that day because his stubble is slightly scratching my upper lip. After kissing him for a while I decide to do something more with my lucid dream - what was my goal again? Oh, right! I'm supposed to find my dog H. and ask her to show me a new trick. I go inside the house and find her there. She's qurious about some food that's fallen onto the floor. I gently call her over. She hesitates to leave the food, but when I gently call her again she comes over. She looks funny. More like a cartoon dog than a real dog. I ask her to show me a new trick. She lifts her right arm/paw while she slightly arches her back. I ask her to do something else and after trying for a bit she rolls over. I tell her shes a good girl and hthat she can go get the food she was craving. I think about what else I can do with my LD. I decide to go outside and fly! For a moment I consider going out on the balcony and take off from there, but I decide against it in case I'm not dreaming after all. Don't want to break my neck falling off the balcony... When I go outside it's dark. The sky is lit with stars and I think to myself it's a perfect night to go flying! I start softly waving my arms like a bird (that's always how I fly in non-lucids), I start hovering above the ground slowly getting higher up. Maybe I should try flying differently? Try to fly a little bit faster? I stretch my arms out in front of me (like superman) and start flying faster straigh upwards. I fly like this for a bit until the dream destabilizes and I start falling. During this stage I lose lucidity and fall through a window in my house. H. sits inside and says something to me when I land, but I don't remember what. The dream lives on by itself, and there's no more lucidity.

So I had my first lucid in months!! And the first lucid in Sensei's competition. It was so much fun! Yay!

I woke up at 7.30 this morning and I wrote down 3 dream fragments. I probably could have dug deeper and remembered at least on of them fully, but I'm stuggling with the motivation to write the dj. and so they stayed only fragments. I then lay awake for a bit thinking I would do a WBTB, I was awake for maybe 20 minutes? Then I got comfy again and tried to go to sleep. I repeated a mantra to myself for a minute or two about how I would fall asleep and realize I was in a dream. After a while of twisting and turning, not being able to fall asleep I did a nose plug, and I could breathe! Only through one of my nostrils, but I could breathe!! But how could it be? I was still in my bed trying to fall asleep! But wait, was I? I looked around and realized I wasn't in my bed after all. I was on a mattress on the floor somewhere else. I got up and went to the bathroom, doing another nose plug (I couldn't believe I was lucid) still could breathe, but only through one nostril. I kept my nose plugged for a while, wondering how I could do that and not "choke" in real life, I then realized it's only my dream body that's got its nose plugged... Even though I was lucid my awareness was low at this stage. I suddenly realized I was standing in a bathroom scrubbing the toilet and I thought "I'm not using my LD to scrub down a filthy toilet!!" So I stood up and tried to remember my goals. I remember the competition and some of the tasks. Should I try flying? I have had a plan that if I did become lucid I would summon a 'musical muffin', eat it and try to sing! So I placed my hands behind by back and thought "when I bring my hands in front of me again there will be a musical muffin in my hands. And there was! It was a bit unclear/hazy, but had a creamy cheese topping with a 'musical note' as a decoration. I hurried to take a bite, and as I did I wondered how it didn't taste anything. After eating a bite of it I tried to sing - very quietly, because I was afraid someone might hear me. And I was disappointed, my voice was even poorer than in real life. LOL! Here the dream gets a little blurry, I can't remember quite what happened, but I think I had a FA where the nose plug RC failed.

I also remember dreaming about writing in my dj about both the lucid dream and some other dreams - it's so frustrating waking up and realizing you have to do it all over again, haha. All in all I remember 4 fragments, 2 dreams and 1 LD! A very, very good night! I'm so happy!

A question though: Did I just have my first WILD, or was this just a regular DILD? Did kind of feel like a DILD, but then I really thought I was still awake so it might have been a WILD... I've heard so much talk about the weird sensations one gets when wilding, and I didn't feel any of that...
