    A Strange Name

    by , 04-25-2018 at 06:37 AM (401 Views)
Morning of April 25, 2018. Wednesday.

In this brief waking dream, I am in an unknown library. A very vivid voice mentions “Shirley Holmes” at the end of a phrase. I believe it relates to appreciation of a book. I consider how it is a play on “Sherlock Holmes”. However, I soon consider that it may be dream state distortion implied to suggest “surely homes”, but I do not see it as having potential meaning other than being happy at home based on the tone of the voice.

It turns out that there actually is a Shirley Holmes character of which I am certain I had not known of before, or at least never gave any notice to (though again, I am quite certain that I would have remembered a play on “Sherlock Holmes” as such). Even so, the detective essence is a recurring factor of being in liminal space, which represents the enigma of being between identities, dream self and conscious self. This has been a factor since very early childhood.

Quick update: As usual, this dream seemingly came partly from content from what Zsuzsanna had been thinking earlier, with no way of me knowing. She had seen a game show that focused on Sherlock Holmes. This happens continuously, but I often do not go back to edit the entry.

Shirley Holmes sounds like the perfect gender bender name for sherlock. Interesting how it turned out that your wife saw a game show on it too. Why do you think it happens?

Thanks Blue Opossum. I think your dream telepathy is interesting. I bet it happens to people more often but not evryone is able to confirm it as much.

I think there is a lot more to dreams and the human mind in general, but I doubt there will be too many breakthroughs in the near future. People tend to think in terms of habit and the familiar (and would likely have no reason to investigate or explore what they don't believe is there in the first place), and also do everything by habit based on personal belief. Much is denial outside of their "safe space". Some people have a natural connection, could be biological, could be something more.

On an unrelated side note, consider how scientists supposedly (according to news reports) only just discovered the so-called interstitium in the human body and it makes me wonder how much people know about anything at all. Perhaps there is an area of the electromagnetic spectrum that no one has fully looked into yet, perhaps a sparse pattern that is not yet seen as a viable pattern. If "The Interstitium, the Largest Organ We Never Knew We Had" is true, than anything is possible, I suppose.

I would definitely like to see them uncover more but its true that the commonly known data gets the most attention for the masses. Reminds me of how in astronomy class I've learned so much about the way our solar system and our universe works. In the lower grades they tend to simplify info or don't explain correctly, leaving many people in the dark about it. If more people know perhaps there would be more chances of discovering something new. I didn't even know about the interstitium thing before you mentioned it. That's amazing~ Would be interesting if dream sharing was because of something biological or a natural connection. I've read someone's post before where they mentioned electro magnetic I think. I still don't know much about it though so I have to look it up or watch a video about it.Yeah, thanks for telling me about your views on the topic Blue Opossum!
