cccxi. Guard of the medieval palace mall

Didn't make any initial notes for this, just left the recall and ended up doing other things all day.

    Scraps:

Some bit in a "mall", but it actually looks like a 1500-1800s palace of sorts, English or Germanic style. There is a large open courtyard area and something about a rebellion or conflict happens, I become the leader of a defence force for this "mall" and start giving orders to impromptu soldiers, who wear some sort of appropriate medieval soldier outfit, wearing flowing yellow tabards with a white trim. Some of the helms have plumes, blue?

At some point after that, I climb up some place high but it also looks like the area outside H's village. There's some kind of pipe organ structure but it's half-natural or built into a natural area. I activate something, a mechanism of some sort.

Then or before that, something about a car and being driven around, with H driving I think.

(rest of recall has all faded)

Do you consider yourself to be a leader?

      This is an interesting one.

At some points in my childhood I had leadership roles, but always in informal contexts. In formal contexts, I was almost always at the bottom, either because of lack of interest or because of lack of ability.

Thinking about it now, I realise that my childhood lucid experiences were also ones where I was in roles of leadership.

And so to answer your question more directly, I have always believed myself in having a capacity for leadership, but I have rarely exercised that capacity in my life. When it comes to real responsibilities I am often not in the best positions to be in that role, for any number of reasons, all of which depend on the context and what the role demands of me.

ok, i'll ask it like this:
do you step forward to do something, such as lead, when no one else will?

regarding contexts and the roles, be it captaining a sports team, or other group, having the ability to lead, but not exercising that ability, does that bother you?

When nobody else will, sometimes I do, though I think it also largely depends on how confident I feel about it in the moment, usually.

And it has bothered me sometimes in the past yes. Rarely does as much now, especially because quite often I feel it's a lot more relaxing to just let someone else tell you what you should be doing.

has there been any recent situations, be it the last 6 - 12 months, such as at work, or a social setting, that stepping forward as a leader, was something you could have done?
being told what you should be doing, is that because the other person has more "authority" than what you do?
