Another Long Lucid Dream-Archer in the Playground

B2B LD's! So, I made another mistake of trying to do something physical to accomplish something in the dream world, but I was able to stop and re-evaluate my situation. I tried a new trick in my dream that I learned from Waggoner's book.

I can recall 4 very vivid dreams before my lucid dream.

    Dream #1-Mattress Firm

I had a dream about work. I sell mattresses and Beth (my previous area manager and girl friend) was in my store, telling me that she had a plan to become my Assistant Manager so we could work in the same store together. She started cleaning and helping me put these new sheets on the mattress. She said that she called Joe, our district manager, to come to the store so he could observe the store and make a final decision to move her to my store. Joe came by as I was picking up food crumbs off the floor. He asked me, "Your dog isn't eating in the beds, is she?" I told him no, my dog doesn't eat in the beds, these food crumbs were made by some customer. I remember there was a back wall that was untidy and kinda nasty. It had stacks of boxes of paperwork that needed to be disposed of, that had been there for years. I started cleaning the area, picking up one of the boxes, then I realized that this paperwork had to be filed for at least 7 years and couldn't just be thrown away. So I put the box back and Joe left the building, finished with his inspection.

Beth and I go to the back of the building, where the employee break room is to gather our things. It's closing time. In the back room, there are rails and racks of baby product, mostly socks for little feet and cheap jewelry from Claire's. I found this jewelry box on one shelf. I open it and inside is a deformed ballerina. Her head is very large, she balanced on one bent leg with her other one extended parallel to the floor. Her leg is too long and her head is too big and as she rotates to the music, her head and leg rub up against the back of the jewelry box, making it difficult for her to turn. I show it to Beth, who makes a face, and I put it back on the shelf. We start collecting our things, mostly the jewelry.

    Dream #2-Economic Revolution

There was an elder lady who was becoming very popular in the news for being an economic genius. There were commercials and ads all over the place about her new economic plan for the future. Now, in reality it's stupid and would never work, but the plan is that all companies start charging half price for their products and for every $10K they save consumers, they donate to a non-profit organization of their choosing. Well, I guess I was a reporter and I was charged with interviewing this lady in jail. She had intentionally committed a major crime of murdering a criminal so that she could be sentenced to jail. She wanted to go to jail so that she would have enough time and solitude to work on her economy book and get it published. She was still in jail when she became famous. So, I come to her jail cell and it's nice! It looks like a granny's living room. She had quilted blankets and cushioned arm chairs and little wooden tables with carved chairs. She was living luxuriously for someone in jail, and she had two older women as cellmates. Both were a little senile, one complained about her hip aching every time she sat in a wooden chair, so I couldn't interview her. The main woman that I was there for told her cellmate, "Oh, hush up honey about that old hip of yours. This is my interview." So, she was definitely a spirited lady, lol. I interview her with a recorder. I remember an older black guy, like Morgan Freeman, was my camera man, then he turned into a Michael Caine looking character.

Dream #3-Spy Classic with Love Triangle

I dreamt I was a spy who'd just escaped capture. The US government is looking for me. I sneak into a building that makes US Driver Licenses. With me, I have an old friend who's a computer nerd that knows how to make the license and hacks into government computers and gives me a new identity. I have another guy with me, who's a newby I ran into (he'd be like the ignorant citizen that represents the audience in any classic spy movie); he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's just there because he's in love with me, but I only see him as a friend. We wait for my nerdy companion to finish his work and at one point I confess my love to him and kiss him, but he says we can't be together. Deep down I know that's true. I remember walking on the rooftops of the building questioning my life choices, questioning what I wanted to do with my life. It was incredibly vivid and beautiful with the sun setting behind the buildings and a gentle breeze in the air. I was wearing this light grey hoodie, jeans, and converse sneakers. I was trying to figure out how to break the news to the newbie that I didn't love him and that I just wanted to be friends.

    Dream # 4-Comforting the Child

I'm in my apartment with my boyfriend, in the living room watching tv. It's evening and my boyfriend opens the front door and says, "There's an animal running around out here." The mayor of Aaron City (if you don't know, that's Johnny Bravo's city) wants me to catch this animal. I'm naked, so I have to put on some clothes before I go outside to catch the animal. I remember putting the clothes on as well: panties, bra, shirt, sweats. I remember thinking, this dream feels familiar as if I've had it before, but i don't go Lucid just yet. (I think Waggoner calls this sub-lucid). I go outside to catch the animal, and at first it was a dog or cat, but then it turned into a child. It was a little african boy, no older than 7. I caught up to him in this giant tree house. He was running away from home because he thought his parents didn't love him because they were so strict on him all the time. I had to comfort the child and tell him that his parents loved him very much, they were only hard on him because they wanted him to be successful, to be a good kid. He seemed to understand this and was consoled. His parents arrived at the tree house to collect him and after the boy had gone, the tree house became a tree-house themed restaurant. It was fancy and apparently very popular. My family was there and I joined them at the table, but my father was in a heated argument with my mother. He was accusing her of something, not allowing herself to explain that she'd misspoke and didn't mean to set him off. My grandmother was there, taking my dad's side. I had to confront both of them and set them straight. I yelled at my dad that he needed to stop taking his frustrations out on mom, stop blaming her for his problems. All of a sudden, my old childhood friend, Archer, shows up. I look at her and realize I hadn't seen her in years. Then I realize I'm dreaming.

Dream #5-Archer in the Playground (Lucid)

I ask Archer why I dream about her so often, because I have dreamed about her often in the past. She answers my question, but I can't hear it. To me that's a sign I'm not focused enough in a dream. So, I ask her if we could step outside and talk. She follows me to a nearby playground. I'm asking her all these personal questions that I want answered, "Why is it hard for me to make friends? What can I do to make more friends?" She answers them I think, but I can't remember any of her answers. At one point, we climb high on this wood playground. The height makes me nervous. Archer smiles mischievously at me and starts breaking some of the support beams in the playground. I start climbing down immediately. I land on the ground and just as I do, she falls flat on her back, letting the tower crush her, but she's unharmed. I look at her, feeling stupid and say, "Yeah, I guess that really doesn't matter since I am dreaming after all" referring to my fear of heights and pain. So, I stare at my fingers, but it's pointless because the dream is already pretty vivid and focused. Then I look around. It's sunshiny, blue sky. I remember there being a large field for kids to run around and play. It was fenced in. On the other side of the fence, there was a Little League team practicing. It was a good atmosphere. I remember my tasks.

I shout into the open, "AM I DREAMING?" And Archer, still with me, staring blankly at the sky, says oh so nonchalantly, "Yes. You are dreaming." If I could go back and have this dream again, I would have talked to her more and ask her who she was and where she came from. She may have looked like Archer, but she definitely wasn't. What I did instead was get a little too excited. I answered her with, "Well, I'm finished with that little task!" So, I continue to the second thing on my list which was summoning. I called out Tomaki's name into the dream, which was the same mistake I used last time: using physical aid in the dream world. Shouting isn't going to get me what I want. Tomaki didn't answer or appear, so I tried again. I shouted his name and looked around the field. Nothing. All of a sudden the ground began shaking like an earthquake and the sky turned the orange and purple colors of dusk instead of daylight. I heard little voices, little feet coming my way. Archer and I look at each other and run! We run to the edge of the field where there was the gate 7 feet high. I knew I could jump over it because it was a dream, so I did. Archer stopped just before the gate. I yelled for her.

"You can do it! It's just a dream, so believe you can and you will! Just jump!" But she didn't jump. I saw her close her eyes and focus. Swirling lights circulated her body and she teleported out of there like Star Trek. My jaw dropped. She left me! No time to stand around and get angry though. I kept running from what was coming. I made it up the stairs into a subway station, where there were a lot of people running away from the evil creatures I had accidentally summoned: Smurfs. They were singing their little song, "Na na na-na-na-na!" and attacking people!! One lady grabbed me by the arm for some reason, trying to haul me in the wrong direction. I fought her off, but the Smurfs had caught up to me and surrounded me.

I learned in Waggoner's book that if you spin in a dream, the dream will alter completely. It's a quick way to randomly teleport wherever. So, I tried that as a means of escape. When I spun, everything went dark. I thought I'd woken up. I even remember staring at the back of my eyelids thinking, "Aw man! That didn't take me anywhere, that just woke me up." But the last thing I remember before actually waking up was walking through my parent's living room alone, seeing plates of half-eaten food from the night before. Loaded baked potatoes. Yum! Then I really did wake up. So, I guess the spinning trick worked, I just lost my lucidity.
