      Dream 1:
I was swimming in murky, deep green water at the beach. It was overcast and cold, with grey clouds and no sun. Morgan, Isabella, Sam, and the twins were there. They were laughing about something and discussing some object I’ve since forgotten, but I was more concerned by the fact that I could see hundreds of bodies on the ocean floor when I dipped my head beneath the waves.

      Dream 2:
On a lawn, there was a canopy tent put up and with a blanket under it, like on Founder’s Day. We were having a picnic. Sam sat on the ground next to me, and Isabella sat in a chair next to the twins. I had brought lemonade, but I forgot the fruit I was supposed to bring. Sam asked how I could remember the lemonade but forget the fruit. The conversation somehow got to my hair, and Sam told Isabella to dye it blue. She did, but halfway through she said “oh no”and threw the dye away. I asked why and she said she’d accidentally made it purple, but my hair was blue.
I then realized I had a flight that I had to be at at 11:33. I quickly tried to finish a plate of pasta and some salad that hadn’t been there before, and then I went to go find my boyfriend and say goodbye before I left. I found him at a school playing soccer with Jan and Lauren. I ran over to him and gave him a hug and said goodbye, and he kissed me on the cheek.
Then I realized my flight was a virtual flight of some sort, and I had missed it, but there would be another one soon.

      Fragment:
I was in a very weird high tech shower, which I was trying to figure out. There were lots of curtains and smaller subunits with jets and pools of water. Before I could figure it out, I had to go.

      Dream 3:
Franci and Helen were telling me I had to go to the hospital for my own good. I was reluctant to go. I said I wanted to take a shower before I left. They told me to pack clean clothes and to make sure I got a good roommate. I said I’d ask for a single room.

Fragment: Something about the breezeway at my high school, the color green, and my sophomore year English teacher trying to give me advice.

Dream 1: I was not present in this dream, I was just watching it play out. Kurt Russell was a waiter in a quaint family diner. A couple were sitting at one of the tables with their daughter, who was blond and wearing pigtails. They were trying to teach him how to pronounce her name right, but he kept getting it wrong. He went to get her a glass of water, which he put into a plastic cup with the “Coke” logo on it. He wrote her name on the glass in sharpie and gave it to her, joking that “it’ll cost you a buck”.

Dream 2: I was spectating again. Harry Potter was in a small stone room with a dozen or so other students. He was telling them that he now agreed that co-ed dorms were a bad idea, because someone stole a very important spellbook given to him by a powerful wizard. Suddenly, all the other students vanished, and only Ron Weasley is left. Harry told Ron he knew he was the one who took it, and Ron pulled it out from under his shirt. He told Harry he was going to destroy him. Harry pulled out a metal sword decorated with purple foam lightning bolt stickers.

Dream 3: Spectating, yet again. Charlie Bucket, played by Freddie Highmore, was sadly watching an old box television set while sitting on a rug. He was watching his parents being interviewed on a television program set in a living room. His dad was visibly nervous and his mom was crying. It was about something he’d done, though I can’t remember what. He then had to walk onto the set and join them. The dream ended there.

Dream 4: Fragment. I went on a trip with Renee, Sage, Aspen, Justin, and Emily, I’m not sure who else. We rode in vans in stayed in cabins somewhere in the forest, but I don’t remember anything else.

Dream 5: Fragment. I was in a dark cabin. It was very modern, tidy, and well decorated, but the lighting was very low. I had to stay there by myself on the highest bunk bed.

Dream 6: My godmother, sister, and I went to a carnival. There was a large parking lot, and from there you’d have to cross a road to get to the rides. The road was for large trucks bringing supplies for the fair. A Chevron truck came bringing gas for the rides. There were crossing guards to help people be safe while crossing the service road. My younger sister went on a large blue roller coaster that went very fast with lots of loops and twists. My godmother asked me how on earth Anna could do that, and I said I didn’t know. We left after Anna got off, and we thanked the crossing guards, who asked for fist bumps. One of them was Morgan Freeman (?), and he did the “up high, down low, too slow” thing. Then we left.

Dream 7: Fragment. I was talking to my boyfriend over video chat, and he was sitting in a living room empty except for a couch. It looked somewhat like my friend Arthur’s dad’s living room.

Dream 8: I dreamt that I woke up in my room. There were some green ceramic bell wind chimes hanging from the light above my bed. I noticed if I tensed my face slightly and made a ringing sound in my ears, I could make them move, like I was pushing them without touching them. I tried the same with the metal heart chimes across the room, and it also worked. I then figured out I could touch things with my mind, so I gave myself a foot massage. Then I went somewhere that was my backyard, except with a huge pond in it. There were giant corydoras and arrowanas, and a few goldfish larger than their usual size. I told my sister to stay away from the two arrowanas, as they could eat her easily. Then I used my mind powers to push a red tricycle a little ways. Suddenly I was back in my room, in my bed. My mom and brother were there, and suddenly I noticed a white ceramic bell chime with colorful designs on it. It was moving by itself, without me doing anything. I was scared of it, and my mom said it was possessed. I grabbed a crucifix and tried to tell whatever it was to go away, but nothing happened. I touched it with the crucifix and yelled at it, but it did not stop. I woke up.

I haven’t been on in a long, long time, but I’d really like to work on lucid dreaming again.
I’m going to start by dream journaling, like I used to.

I can’t remember much, except for a dream fragment.
My freshman year English teacher was congratulating two members of the senior class on their “early marriage”. She said that every year, at least two students would get married before they graduated.
My boyfriend had an expensive looking camera, and he was photographing the couple. I was sitting next to him on the grass, while the couple walked down a carpet rolled out on the lawn.
I accidentally got in the way of one of his photos, and he asked me to move.
I laid down on my back on the grass, and he laughed and said he didn’t mean I had to do that, just to scoot out of the way.
      That’s all I remember.

      Dream 1:
I was at my friend Rachael's house, and I was making a bagel with jelly on it. I was trying to make sure I put the jelly on just right, and I dotted it, glob by glob, onto the bagel. Her mom was talking to me and so was she, asking about the art of putting jam on a bagel. Her dad, who was in the other room, yelled and asked who was over. She told him it was me, and he told me to get out. Then her mom told him about the bagel, and he said I could stay if he could have a bagel.

      Dream 2:
I was walking in my neighborhood, when I saw a boy who recently graduated from my high school, named Nathan, standing in a driveway with a girl of perhaps 12 who I didn't recognize. They were singing while she played the piano, and it was beautiful. I had no idea he could sing and stopped to listen for a while before heading off to my friend Isabella's house.

      Dream 3:
I got to Isabella's house, as she had invited me over, and we went inside. He younger brother was lying on the couch, and looked surprised when I walked in. Their mom came up to me and said it wasn't a good time to be over, but that she'd have Isabella let me know when it was. Confused, I left.

      Dream 4:
I was inside my house, talking to my mom, when I saw Isabella standing in our backyard, watching our neighbor's cat, Bella, who is white with black spots and sits on our fence. I peered through the blinds in the kitchen at them, then moved into the study to get a better look. She turned around and stared at me.

      Dream 5:
I was at my grandma's apartment complex, and oddly enough, I wasn't in the dream. I was merely watching the dream. A pretty young girl in her late teens with red hair and green eyes was convinced that her brother was downstairs and wanted to introduce her to someone. When she went downstairs and into the parking lot, her brother was not there, and a strange man grabbed her and threw her into his car. He told her that she was now his daughter and that the terrified little blond girl in the backseat was now her sister. The girls tried to escape but couldn't, and eventually they ended up on a tropical island that was somehow back in the era of pirates. The older girl swam out into the water, where pieces of a wrecked ship were floating, screaming that the man was not her father. Concerned citizens stood on the beach in front of a tavern, wearing clothing from that period. The man laughed and told them his daughter was just being silly, and went after her, but she moved away and pushed planks of wood into his path. The youngest girl then escaped the car and started to scream for help. The man grew angry and lunged at the older girl, prompting the townspeople to move towards them to save her.
Something later on the dream had to do with dark houses and running away... I can't remember.

      Dream 6:
The world had ended, though I'm not sure how, and I was stuck with the only survivors: a random guy I've never seen and his friend, who was an older woman, and a handful of girls from my highschool who I never really get to spend time with. We were crouched in an old garden, trying to get to the food, when a doe ran past us, screeching and displaying jagged fangs. A buck with tiny points for antlers ran after her, and the man said he'd hate to be on the wrong end of those antlers. I was more worried about the teeth.
We successfully got the veggies and moved to a wooden deck with picnic tables on it. We were planting whole carrots and broccoli in small wooden boxes in hopes of them growing, and Greyson, and old friend of mine, wasn't planting her carrots right, so I helped her. The older lady loaded the boxes of veggies into a wagon, and promised to come back when they had grown. Then we were sitting at a picnic table, and Victoria and Grace, two girls from my old school, found a clove of garlic the older lady had saved. They wanted to eat it, and I knew they shouldn't because I know how to plant cloves of garlic to make them grow, and every clove was a chance for more garlic. However, I was too afraid to voice my opinion and they ate it.
Then we were driving in huge semi trucks to find other survivors, and I offered to super-glue some of the broken mirrors and a pair of metal antlers that adorned one of the trucks.

Talks about weird dreams... At least my recall was better!

      Dream 1:

I am told that a T-Rex professor in another dimension has taken prehistoric weapons from the archeology department, and that its my job to find out what he's up to.
I have to jump through the dimensions, essentially skydiving, with my partner, who I don't recognize from real life. When we land on the metal landing pad, we find another trans-dimensional traveler, tha fled in his parachute and suspended there like a fly in a spider web. He tells us he is an American pilot who was sent here during the First World War, but did not complete his mission and has been tangled there ever since he landed. We wish him well and head off into the city, which is large, as it is inhabited by humanoid dinosaurs and a few humans who have earned their welcome. We walked until we reached the museum, which from the outside is a large grey building. Unsure of how to get into the museum, we wander around the parking lot, which looks like a schoolyard parking lot with basketball hoops and such, until we find a kid squatting on the ground. He offers us a sticker, which he has many sheets of, saying that he'll sell us the yellow one for a dollar. All of the stickers are red, green, and yellow, and have a dinosaur on them. We pay him for our stickers, as mission control instructs us to do, and then we place them on our arms. Suddenly I am standing in the darkened museum hallway, my partner nowhere in sight. I hear loud footfall and press myself against the wall, only to see the towering T-Rex professor, who is as red as the sticker on the parking lot, running down the hallway with stone-tipped spears tucked under his tiny arms. Prepared to follow him and figure out why he is stealing relics, I sneak into his enormous office, where two of his colleagues are reclining on the couch. It is huge and well lit, with a glass table and a leather couch, and his desk, covered in papers. He slipped the spears into a drawer in his desk, and then greeted his friends, a large green brontosaurus, and a yellow triceratops. I watched from behind books on his bookshelf, knowing if I got caught, my snooping would not be appreciated. The brontosaurus looked at the T-Rex, and there seemed to be some hostility between them. Then, the brontosaurus asked the triceratops to go on a date with him, to which the T-Rex did the same, saying that he's known her longer and appreciates he much more. She looked confused, then said she's not interested in dating either of them. They both responded by telling her she has to pick one of them. Again, she refused. The T-Rex paced the room, his footsteps causing the floor to tremble, and pulled the spears from his desk. He walked towards his colleges, and then I woke up.

      Dream 2:
I was with a colleague from work, and she showed us a pile of feathers she was collecting and told us we could add to it to help her out. Then we walked around and fed ducks, before going into a small room where four dollhouses were set up. Littlest pet-shop figurines are in each one, and she instructs me to put food in their bowls, even though they are still drinking milk. I do so, utterly perplexed.

    7. I Had My Second Lucid!!

      by , 07-26-2016 at 03:19 PM
Woohoo! I finally had another lucid dream! I'm so happy, I can barely sit still to type this!

      Dream 1:

I was sitting down on a rug in my old kindergarten classroom, talking to a boy I used to go to elementary school with, named Rhys. I don't recall what were were talking about, besides school and childhood. A while into our conversation, I noticed he looked sad, so I asked him, "Rhys, you look sad. What's wrong?" He looked at me, with the saddest look I have ever seen on his face, and replied, "You're dreaming." This shocked me quite a bit, and as soon as he said this, my dream began slipping away.
After that, I stood up, telling my dream self over and over, "You're dreaming. You're dreaming". I was desperately trying to stay calm and in the dream. Sadly, seconds later I had woken up. It hadn't even sharpened into the clarity or reality that my first lucid had before I was opening my eyes to a darkened ceiling.

Has anyone else ever had a DC tell them they're dreaming? I found it really odd, but exciting.

      Dream 2:

I dreamt that my mom introduced me to a young man from Britan, who was in his twenties or thirties, and we were watching some children and young adults, including my younger siblings, dive into the ocean at night from a cliff. I warned them to be careful, but he didn't seem that worried. He encouraged my brother to jump. He said his name was Thomas. It was dark and pouring rain.
Later, we were in my backyard, which looked strange and not quite like my backyard, and he was playing with a round red object he'd found on a tree. He re-introduced himself as Josh. He accidentally dropped the small red sphere, however, and it rolled into a large hole that went under my concrete porch. As soon as this happened, tree roots began to push up through the concrete. My godmother warned us to get out and stay away. We tried to use rakes and tools to pull the seed back out from underneath the porch, but to no avail.
Amidst this chaos, an annoying talking Tomato Hornworm Caterpillar named Harvey came over, and apparently we were well aquatinted. He and I had agreed that he would be gentle with my tomato plants and be able to eat all the basil he wanted without killing the plant. He asked us what was going on, and when I explained, busy trying to pry out the seed, he laughed and crawled off, saying he was going to eat every last tomato plant in my garden.
Somehow we either got the tree under control, or left it to destroy my porch. I'm not sure which. We got into Thomas/Josh's car and drove back to a large store that sold clothing and other things, like water bottles and sports gear. My siblings and my aunt and uncle were there, and we had fun looking around.
I wondered if Thomas/Josh could have been a relative of mine on my dad's side, but I didn't think any of my relatives still lived in Britain, so I didn't ask. He and my brother were trying to find a nice souvenir he could take home with him.

      Dream 3:

I dreamt that three people I know from school, Shawnee, Julie, another whom I cannot remember, and I, went to the movie theater. We had to climb over a lot of people to get to our seats, and when we got there, I was shocked to find that they had all turned into my friend Isabella's little cousins.

    8. I Have Returned

      by , 07-25-2016 at 07:08 PM

So... I'm back. I haven't been dreaming much lately, as school projects keep me up late and stress keeps my mind blank.

I have had three odd nightmares, though. Nightmares that I wish lucid dreaming could help me overcome... But I still can't manage to replicate my singular lucid from a few months ago.

All of the nightmares have to do with a boy named Trent from my school trying to hurt me or scaring me. I'm hoping that I'll be able to defeat my nightmares and get this DC to leave me be.

In the meantime, any help and advice would be much appreciated. I'm really hoping not to wake up crying or panicked another time this week.

Well... I've had no dreams that I can recall the past few nights, but I just had a brief dream I remember quite vividly.

I was sitting in some sort of hotel lobby, in an armchair. Next to me was a golden table that had a vase of colorful flowers on it, with a mirror above it. The gold revolving door was twenty feet or so away, and opened to a busy street, but no one came in or out. They just walked by. There were two armchairs next to me, and in one sat a random girl I've never seen before, and in the other sat my English teacher. My English teacher and I were conversing pleasantly while waiting from something or someone, though I'm not sure what or who.
At some point, I grew bored and went to go get my recorder, which I remembered was in the dining hall (I don't own a recorder). I went inside, and the room was just a maze of white walls. I wandered around a while before finding myself back outside, holding a red recorder which apparently was from my youth. I walked back towards my chair, trying to remember how to play a song. I began playing "Victorious" by Panic at the Dicso, very awfully at first, but soon had managed to play it fairly well. I went over to show my teacher. Then the dream ended.

HAHAHHAHAHA!!! I CAN MAKE UP FOR MY CRUDDY DREAM RECALL THE PAST FEW DAYS!
I put a pad of paper by my bed and wrote everything I could remember down when I woke up in the middle of the night. No lucid dreams, but the better dream recall is something I'm proud of.

Dream 1: I was in someone's garage, and they'd asked me to move their washing machine from the garage into the laundry room. I picked it up, and it was surprisingly light. It had a strap and I carried it over my shoulder through the house and put it where it belonged. The owner of the house came back home with his granddaughter, who was a little blonde girl riding a red tricycle.

Dream 2: My friend Mary Cate was on the news, though I'm not sure why. I was watching television and saw an interview of her, and told everyone in my family "Look! It's Mary Cate!". She was showing the reporter some crafts she'd made and taking her on a tour of her bedroom. It was a bit odd, and she seemed nervous, but it was exciting to see her on television.

Dream 3: I was in my little sister's classroom, and they were learning about spelling while I watched. Then, a little boy I've never seen before interrupted the lesson, and began teasing my sister, calling her "an Anna Bee". For some reason, this was a horrendous insult, and my sister looked hurt while the rest of the class laughed. He then continued to pester her, calling her annoying and weird. I went off on the kid, telling him it was not alright to say things like that or treat anyone that way. My mom was there, and tried to tell me not to get upset, but I was furious. The kid looked slightly frightened, but I wasn't yelling, I just had raised my voice a bit. My sister looked grateful.

Dream 4: Feeling bad about the incident with the little boy, where, I admit, I might have gotten a little wound up, I decided to go to mass. Something about the church struck me as odd, as there were very few people there, and the priests were just sitting down in front of the altar. There was nothing occurring that usually does during a mass, and people were just sitting in the pews, silently. Then Liam walked by, and said nothing to me, but seemed the happiest I'd ever seen him. He was relaxed and his almost permanent scowl was nowhere to be seen.
Then, I went up to get communion, as everyone else was. I went to the first priest, who was still sitting in front of the altar. A woman sitting next to him was holding a box of soy crackers, which was odd. I held my hands out for communion, and he gave me a saltine. I was very confused, so I held them out again... And got a triscuit. I tried one last time and got a whole grain cracker of some sort.
"Umm, what are these for?" I asked.
      "I'm fasting," he said.
I walked away confusedly and got communion from the other priest, who was standing by the doorway.
Then a woman walked over to me, and we started talking. Somehow, I knew she was an angel, but she wouldn't admit it to me.
She told me I knew something no one else did, but didn't divulge anything more than that.

Dream 5: I was walking in what looked like a big city, past rows of skyscrapers, when a scary looking homeless man came over to me. I tried to walk away, but he attacked me and tackled me to the ground. Then, a boy from my English class who I rarely talk to and don't particularly like, named Tyler, showed up and fought against the homeless man, and got him off me. He continued to fight the man while I got up and ran away.

Dream 6: I was in some weird alternate dimension that was essentially Minecraft. Everything was blocky, except for the people (myself and the other DCs). It was like a combination of the Nether and the End, with random elements from the game thrown in, which was weird... If you don't know what those are, one is like hell, with fire and lava, and the other... I don't know how to quite describe it. It's certainly odd. I was there with the guy I like, Etienne, and some other friends, though I can't recall who the others were. We had to fight off monsters and stay alive long enough to jump into the portal that would take us home (in the game, most portals are vertical, but this one was a horizontal Nether portal). It was overwhelming, with monsters coming at us from all sides, and I hacked blindly at them with my sword, lucky to still be alive. Then Etienne, who is usually quiet, shy, and non-confrontational, grabbed an axe and killed every monster in sight. It was amazing and horrifying to watch the speed and accuracy with which he brought them down, and it was like he was an entirely different person, not the sweet and quiet person he is in real life.
The monsters pushed us into a platform, and while he continued to fight them off, I noticed the portal a couple hundred blocks below us. I told him, and he told me to jump, as he and the others would follow. I was worried about missing the portal and dying if I landed somewhere else, but I jumped anyways. I missed and landed in a random cauldron of water, which somehow broke my fall, and the others watched from the ledge as I climbed out and sprinted towards the portal.

Dream 7: I was at a retirement home, and a group of popular and famous musicians (I can't remember which) was performing. A lot of people from my school were there standing around the stage, and I noticed my friend, Patrick, in the crowd. I didn't go over to him, because I was still hurting from when he broke my heart on accident. Then I was invited onstage personally, as somehow, I knew the musicians well and we were friends. I performed the remainder of the show with them, singing my heart out and following the choreography. When a song about broken hearts was being played, I scanned the crowd for Patrick, but couldn't find him. I continued to sing, and afterwards the group thanked me, hugged me, and wrapped up the show with a bow. "It's always nice to perform with you," one of them said with a smile.
Afterwards, my friend Rachael and I were trying to make a thank-you card for them outside in the park, but couldn't figure out what we wanted it to say.

Wow, seven dreams... If only one could have been lucid!

Woah, what a weird and terrifying dream! Sadly, not a lucid one. I haven't been getting enough sleep to have another lucid since my first, thanks to school and stress. Just as a warning, there is some exchange of hurtful remarks and a brawl between a DC and I, so read with caution.
I had powers and so did my friends, and we belonged to a group dedicated to helping people with powers and using our powers for good. My friend Sam and I led the group and mentored the new members. It was a loving little community of acceptance and dedication to making a positive difference in the world.
There was one member of the group, a boy named Liam, who is in my class. He bullied me a lot at my old school, but in my dream I had forgiven him and welcomed him into the group, though he had no noticeable powers. He claimed they were still developing and they would be made known soon. Wanting to trust him, I believed him, and accepted this without a second thought.
Our entire group was waiting for a certain day, which a member with the power to glimpse the future said would be the day we'd have to fight for our way of life. The day came, and I'd made sure all of the members were prepared and safely hidden in our base, while I went out to find the danger. Soon, I came across Liam, and it was just he and I on the top of a skyscraper. He was outside on the day our kind would be attacked, and this set off warning bells in my mind. At this point, I'd realized that he didn't have powers.
"You know," he said, "I'm not one of you."
I didn't reply. Somehow I had known this would happen, though I had hoped it wouldn't.
He was watching me as I began to manipulate matter, making it contort and float in the air. He had never seen me use my powers, as he was a newer member of the group.
"So that's what you can do," he said.
I nodded and let the matter back down.
He was silent for a while.
Finally he whispered, "You disgust me."
"Why is that?" I asked, calmly.
"You're a freak," he replied, glaring at me. "You and all those like you deserve to die."
"If my kind are "freaks", then why were you so eager to join a group of "freaks" like me?" I asked.
He laughed scornfully. "To see what makes you tick. To find your weaknesses, to discover how to defeat you monsters."
"Monsters? I don't think that word fits a group of people dedicated to saving people and doing good."
"I don't care how many people you save," he snapped, his eyes filling with hatred. "You're abominations, and you deserve to die. I won't stop until very last one of you are dead."
"You were the danger to our kind," I said quietly. "Right under our noses the entire time..."
"And you had no clue," he replied, smirking. "How stupid can you be?"
"We trusted you. I trusted you. We welcomed you and cared for you, and now you betray us?"
"I don't feel any remorse betraying filthy animals," he spat.
"You know, Liam, I feel sorry for you."
"You feel sorry for me?" he asked incredulously.
"That tiny, closed mind of yours must be awfully uncomfortable, rattling around in your empty head."
His face contorted in rage and he lunged at me, fists flying.
I sidestepped out of the way and he spun around, swinging at me again. I caught his fist and held him off, while he strained against me, and I looked him right in the eye.
"You're the real monster," I whispered.
He fought even harder against me, and I let him go, dodging yet another of his jabs at me.
"HOW DARE YOU CALL ME A MONSTER?!" He shrieked, swinging blindly at me.
"A monster is someone who kills innocent people with no remorse, Liam, which is what you intend to do," I said, moving once more out of his range.
"Innocent?! You deserve to die!" He bellowed, leaping at me, catching me off guard and knocking me to the ground. Before I had time to get up, he was on top of me, his eyes ablaze with hatred, his arm coiled back and ready to strike.
"You'll burn in hell," he hissed, bringing his fist down on my face with sickening force.
I put my hands up to shield myself from his blows, resolving not to fight back, being the pacifist that I am. I knew with my powers, I could easily defeat him, but I was afraid I would hurt him in the process.
His fists flew at my face, and he hit me repeatedly. Blood oozed from my wounds and pooled on the concrete below me.
"You're just the first," he growled, hitting me harder.
His fist, red with my blood, bruised my eye.
"I'll kill them all, every last one," he continued, his blows increasing in frequency and magnitude.
His knuckles connected with my cheek, and blood trickled down, mingling with my tears.
I'd had quite enough of his abuse, but he showed no signs of stopping. I decided that maybe I'd have to use my power to stop his assault.
"Liam, please stop," I said. "I don't want to hurt you."
Laughing, he stopped his seemingly unrelenting blows. "You, hurt me?" His bloodied hands closed around my throat.
"You couldn't hurt a fly if you wanted to," he said.
"You have no idea what I'm capable of," I said, my eyes like steel.
"I know you better than you think," he replied, his grip tightening. "I know you would never hurt me, or anyone else, for that matter."
"Don't make me do this. Please," I wheezed, struggling to breathe.
"You're in no place to fight back, so why don't you die quietly, and preserve whatever shred of dignity you have left?" His unforgiving hands were crushing my throat, and I knew I had to do something soon.
"You've left me no choice," I rasped.
"Oh, come on, we both know you couldn't-" he began, before he was blasted backwards by a pulse of air I had manipulated. He landed with a thud a few feet away, and I gasped for oxygen, relief flooding though me as air rushed into my lungs. He stood up, and I saw blood trickling from a gash on his temple. He put his fingers to his wound, and when he saw the crimson dripping from them, his eyes burned with fury.
"You'll pay for that," he said, lunging at me again. He managed to hit me once more, clawing at my face, and I sent him flying with yet another blast of air. He skidded across the concrete, and when he rose, I saw blood in the corner of his mouth. I realized that he was not going to give up.
He glared at me, breathing heavily.
"This either ends with your death, or mine," he yelled. "Either you kill me first, or I kill you."
He wiped the blood away from his mouth.
      "You can't escape this."
      He charged again.
This time, I was ready. I moved out of his way and hit with with one last pulse of air, sending him toppling over the side of the building. He screamed as he fell, not knowing that a cushion of air I had created would stop his descent before he hit the ground.
I leapt from building to building, riding air currents and creating concrete bridges, until I'd reached the base. I warned the others of the danger, and had Sam move them somewhere safe, as I trusted her to find somewhere Liam would not be able to follow.
Then I returned to face Liam one last time.
When I reached the building, he was sitting silently, waiting. He looked up when my feet met the concrete, his expression regretful and pained.
"You saved me," he whispered. "I tried to kill you, and yet you didn't kill me."
I nodded slowly. He stared at my blood, dried on his hands, which lay limply in his lap.
      "Why?"
"Because you don't deserve to die, Liam."
"But I hurt you," he said, angrily. My eye throbbed where he had blackened it.
"That doesn't mean you should die," I said.
He began to cry, silent tears dripping down his cheeks.
"You were right," he managed, choking on sobs. "I am the monster."
I sat down next to him soundlessly, and he continued to cry.
"I'm so sorry," he said, guilt written across his face when he saw the damage he had done to me. "I'm so sorry I hurt you."
"I forgive you," I said, softly.

    15. I think I lucid dreamed for the first time?!?!?

I haven't been posting to my dream journal lately because I've been so busy and stressed out, but I'm going to try to resume. As a result of the craziness of the last month or so, I also stopped trying to lucid dream, but I did think about it often and perform a few reality checks. I had no time to, and I'd also given up on the technique I'd been trying, because every guided meditation I used either was nice but wouldn't put me to sleep, or put me to sleep and did nothing but cause more vivid dreams. Nothing close to lucidity. I'd begun to think I'd never achieve lucidity and maybe there was something wrong with me or I wasn't doing the meditations right. Anyways, I had a dream last night that I believe might have been a lucid dream.

I was at a school, walking around during after school hours when most of the teachers had already left. I wandered into a classroom where my brother's kindergarten teacher was grading papers at one of the students' desks. I walked over to her desk and looked at a paper, which had a list of names on it in a few colors. I have forgotten what they were, but I could read them clearly, and said to myself, "if I was dreaming, could I read this? I thought you couldn't read in dreams."
I decided I'd look away and see if the words changed, because I knew that they do that in dreams. I looked over at the teacher, who was still grading papers, and then looked back at the paper on the desk, and surprisingly, the words had changed.
At this point I said to myself calmly, "I'm dreaming."
Suddenly everything became very real and clear, and it felt like I truly was standing in that classroom. It was mind blowing. I was struggling not to get excited, so I rubbed my hands together, which I've heard helps, and stabilized the dream somewhat.
Then, I attempted to fly, which was probably not a good thing to attempt during my very first lucid dream. I had not expected to lucid dream last night nor had I figured out what I'd do if I achived lucidity, so I did the first thing that popped into my mind. I imagined myself as being lighter than air, and then stood on my tiptoes, lifting one leg up and pushing off the ground gently with the other. I floated up into the air slowly, and at this point I became so excited I either woke up or the dream ended, I can't remember which.

Was this a lucid dream? I'm just not sure.
