In this dream it was my birthday (it is not), and I was in my office and suddenly realized people had snuck into my office for a birthday surprise. There were little tiny people (fairies?) dancing on my desk, but I noticed real size people (presumably coworkers?) behind me. The tiny people looked real, but I thought there must be real size people hidden under my desk directing these puppets.

My boss wanted me to buy orchid plants, so I bought two. He insisted that was not enough. He wanted lots, and then he wanted me to multiply them. I said that he did not understand that having lots of orchids was lots of work and a commitment. And as for multiplying, while I had had a few keikis on my orchids accidentally, but I could not reproduce that reliably, and pollinating orchids was too complicated. He would not listen to me though.

I approached some man I knew was important. Before we shook hands, he insisted I scan my wrist with a card from a deck of cards. It showed a two hour discrepancy between my time and now. I explained that I had done something benign that involved short term time travel. He said I should have remembered to correct that after I returned. I forgot.

Some reasons for why I dreamed these elements: my husband's birthday is coming up, my younger son believes fairies are real due to a former preschool teacher, I have orchids and neglect them too much, my sons have been playing lots of card games lately and there are cards everywhere in our home as a result, and I have been reading "The Power of Now" book by Eckhard Tolle which points out that we always live in the now and should not worry about the past and future.
