    A Gamer's Trip into Lucidity

I do keep a dream journal by my bed and I keep a sketchbook where I record and then illustrate my favorite and most memorable dreams. I'll only be posting my most memorable dreams here, however. I'd like my DJ to be mostly private. :3

Well, I successfully counted and stayed conscious all the way into my sleep. I kept counting into the dream, all the way up to "100, I'm dreaming" and when my waking body got shaken, my dream body thought that I was still awake and gave up trying to WILD anymore. I kicked the sheets off, put on my PJs and walked to the kitchen. I stepped over the puppy barrier and found some blunts just sitting on the kitchen counter.

D followed me out and said "Oh, M left those. I think that might have spice in it and not weed, though," and then went back to bed. Curious, I took one to bed with me and smelled it. It smelled like freshly dried tobacco (which I enjoy the smell of) and, while I was bored, I split it open and took out three dried, burnt leaves. It looked like they were padded in with fiber-fill. D woke up and asked what I was doing and I said "I can't sleep." I laid down and tried to just fall asleep, having given up on WILDing and going Lucid.

Another dream was starting now and I was sitting at a bar. The bartender apologized for pissing in a glass and setting it on the counter. I asked for some water, sniffed it to make sure it was just water and took a sip. It was fine.
I looked over at a nearby table and saw the split open blunt from the previous dream.

My waking eyes shot open as I realized that I missed a very long WILD opportunity. I was furious. It didn't help that Drew was behind me, breathing loudly and now I couldn't get back to sleep.

Afterwards, I popped in and out of sleep for a little while and gave up when Drew rolled over and started breathing on my ear.

This dream starts with a storm. D, my dad and I were living in a beach house, each with our own bed. I was laying in mine, thinking we were safe when I remembered another nightmare. Just then, the storm worsened and the house started rumbling. The windows were splashed with the ocean's raging waves and the house was being dragged into the ocean. I was terrified at first but I realized that I didn't really live on the beach. I did the nose-pinch and the house stopped shuddering. Drew and my dad disappeared and the ceiling opened up. I took off flying, getting as much distance between me and the house as I could.

I flew over a city this time and it was night time. The sky was clear now. The whole scene changed on its own. Anyway, I landed from there and I started practicing my double jump. I tried 2 times but I only got 1 good jump in. Afterwards, I took off flying again and decided to try this month's easy task. I wanted to attempt the basic task at Dream Views. I heard violin music and played along, using an invisible air-violin. I tried to keep up with it and, eventually, it was actually producing its own sounds. I've never played a violin IRL. I was flying the entire time.

      Then, I lost my lucidity.

At one point, though, Drew and I were talking with another person about how much it must suck to be a CoCo's delivery boy since they took canoes to deliver their curry.

      Plus a fragment:

This was probably a different dream altogether. I was on a ship, below-deck and there were a lot of birds. Their feet were very brittle, sort of like hardened, stiffened paper and their toes and feet broke like chips. I got to handle one and its talons sank into my fingers. I remember the pain from this scene very clearly.

Later, in this same fragment, someone mishandled a bird (there was a peacock in a cage btw) and it sank its talons into my lower belly, leaving them behind. I pulled out a foot then many, many claws.

    3. Chatting with P

I was trying to get a hold of P (who was in Spain?) with my cell. After that, I must've gotten lost on my way home, though. I remember driving a shopping cart around a track and telling a teacher that I would put the cart back after I got back. I knew I wouldn't, though and actually decided not to go back. I did find P at C's house (I don't actually know where she lives) and after we got to my house (the computer room and bedroom were fused together) I realized I was dreaming.

At first, I thought I'd woken up but it was a false awakening and I did a reality check, like I do every morning. This was before I'd even 'opened my eyes' and after I pinched my nose I was still dreaming. The dream tried to trick me into thinking I wasn't breathing. Truth is, I've had some congestion in the waking world. I did have trouble breathing in the game, yes, but the point is that I was still breathing. I had to reassure myself of this. The above was literally my thought process. Well, I forced myself up, reassuring myself that I could get up even though the dream tried to keep me down and, eventually, I was able to get up.

I opened my eyes and saw that P and I were still in the bedroom. So we had sex. I figured there were no consequences to this. Afterwards, we cuddled with him on top and I figured I wanted to cuddle with S instead since I didn't get to in my other dream. So, I glanced away, looked back and there he was, S instead of P. We only cuddled for a moment, though.

I got out of bed and thought "This is my dream. There are other things I could do right now." So I walked through my window, outside to the yard and said "I'm going to double jump." And I did. Twice! I also jumped pretty high. I didn't float down but I wasn't expecting to. Then I remembered the other task.

My friend L recommended I try summoning my Spirit Guide or Dream Guardian and I met them both this time. First, I summoned my guide. I stood by the side of my house, looked toward the driveway and said, when I look back, my Spirit Guide is going to be there." I looked towards the wall and back to the driveway. There was nothing there but through the bushes, I could see a white, long-haired figure walking up the hill with a train of ram's legs covered with brown leather sheet behind it. It shrank down to a bi-pedal ram with huge, bulking shoulders and, though it wasn't very defined, it seemed very wise.

So... it was a shape-shifting ram or goat. At first, I was disappointed. It could sense my disappointment and told me to meet my guardian. I walked down the hill, telling myself that I was going to meet it and there it was, a large black dragon with golden accents and yellow eyes, greeting me from its lot, surrounded by trees. It greeted me and this time, I was with my husband and two friends. We all bowed to the dragon, dropping our heads to the ground.

The dragon shrank to the size of a gecko and turned into a snail. I lost my lucidity. I don't remember much after this but I woke up soon after anyway. All I do remember is talking to someone, though I can't remember what about. The snail in my hand eventually turned into a pebble and I tossed it into the grass.

I didn't realize the significance of the animals in my dream until about an hour after I woke up. The ram (or goat, really) is representative of my Western astrological sign (I'm a Capricorn) and the dragon matches my Chinese sign, as I was born in the year of the dragon.

    4. Buying/Renting a Farm

      Buying a Farm (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This dream was very short but it generally left me feeling a little uneasy. Drew and I were visiting a Farm that we wanted to rent out. Our only expenses were going to be gas, rent and one other thing. I can't remember what that was. We were both very pleased with the farm even though the colors outside were very muted, almost like we were in an old black and white movie. I 'remembered' that the farm was in a worse state than the 'last time' we were here in that now it had electricity and internet and that the paint inside was fresh and bright.

The farmer wasn't even happy about having his farm rented out, though. I don't remember many animals (I had a dream about this very place once in the past, I think) but I remember that they were there. I only remember one fuzzy white animal and I think it was either an alpaca (or llama, whatever) or a goat.

After the farmer made it clear that he didn't want us there by avoiding us and looking very displeased, I went outside. The details here are a little fuzzy. But I came back inside and the house was full of squatters. I only remember not being happy that they were here.

There's a gap in my dream but from here, I was in an overhead view, looking down at 'my character' like I was playing a videogame. I was looking for something in the desert (which was outside the farmhouse now) and I passed an oasis. I didn't feel the heat or the thirst. Then, it felt more like I was playing a videogame when I was viewing the 'map' from above and my 'character' turned into an icon. Next thing I knew, I really was playing a videogame. I -think- there was a celebration? I know I was trying to make my way back to the farm, though and I travelled around a mountain.
      The rest is a blank.

This time, I remember that Cha was in the dream and that he was a real creep. His car is supposed to be one of a kind IRL (sticker) but in the dream, there were three of them. I also remember eating a lot of ramen and driving around with Cha for a while. The other thing I remember was being bowser in this dream. Probably because my tattoo is coming up today.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Goodness, I've been a man a lot in the dream's I've had lately, haven't I? This is also a pretty short entry since I don't remember much from the dream. I was still wearing my nicotine patch at the time.

The team from That Guy With The Glasses was in this dream. I recognized that I didn't know the Nostalgia Critic but for some reason, I was friends with The Spoony One, Paw Dugan and LordKat. Odd. Anyway, I also remember hopping onto the That Guy With The Glasses website and leaving a comment on one of the pages. I can't remember the details, though. After that there was a lot of travelling in a swamp with a lot of small islands. We were all in a roller-coaster that was following the bumps and dips of the hills. This part is hazy but after a pretty big chunk of missing dream, I was Spiderman and I was arguing with Mary Jane. We had a child.

After that, I don't remember anything.

    7. 4 And Counting

      4 and counting. (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This time, I don't remember much from the first part of the dream. The non-lucid part, I mean. I woke up right after I had my lucid experience and while I was still conscious I seared the images from my dream into my memory.

I do remember looking up to the sky, through the window and seeing dark blue clouds that were nearly black around noon. Then I thought to myself "There's no way it's that dark at noon. I have to be dreaming." I did my reality check and it came up dream positive. I was excited but I didn't want my excitement to cause me to wake up so I put my arms down, I took a deep breath and started rubbing my hands together to keep the dream stable. I was then in total darkness. Even the window had disappeared. I felt fine though, there was nothing to be afraid of. I just rubbed my hands together, kept my eyes in front of me and slowly spun until I ended up somewhere new. I didn't have anything particular in mind but I did end up in a comforting, blue-green aura. It was very wavy. The dream felt very stable.

Out of nowhere, the nicotine patch I was wearing caused my heart to start racing and I woke up. The patch helped me remember my dream and helped everything seem more real but I was sick for the rest of the day, even after taking it off right after waking after my next dream.

NOTE: KingYoshi's All-Day Awareness technique is working out great for me.

    8. Was I just worrying too much?

      by , 06-20-2011 at 05:59 AM (A Gamer's Trip into Lucidity)
      20.06.2011
Out of a slump or was I just thinking too much? (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was able to chain along last night's dream pretty much through the entire morning. I'll start at the earliest point that I remember. As a side note, I use I-Doser to help me get to sleep sometimes since, like many people, I just have trouble getting there and sleeping easily. To I put on my ear-buds, laid in bed and waited for sweet sleep. The hubby kept twitching and waking me up, though so that didn't fly for very long.

The Dream starts in space. Actually in a house that was floating through space. I had Universe Sandbox on the mind since I downloaded it off of steam and was going to play it today. I remember calling up parts that I needed but I wasn't lucid. I just thought I was playing the 'videogame' despite being in the house. I also remember being a very impatient yet powerful person and at one point I was actually playing a videogame but I'll get to that. Once I was satisfied with the house, it landed in San Diego (where the hubby is from) and from there, we explored the inside of the house (there wasn't much to see) and then we hopped into the car and explored the city for a bit. I don't remember much from this part of the dream but I do remember being back at the house and having an argument with my husband. I can't remember what we were arguing about, either. But we eventually took the car up to the beach where there was this tall cliff for people to dive into the water from. The water was very deep. I was talking with one of the girls about why it's so funny when a woman screams and dives into the water when it isn't so funny when a guy dives in. I remember explaining "When a guy dives into the water, he doesn't scream or try to make an idiot of himself. When he dives in, he plays off his mistakes like it's cool. When a woman dives in, it's hilarious because she screams when she gets scared and when she comes out of the water, she's fine. So dive." And that's basically true for the way I see it. And then there were sharks flying in the sky. They were flying towards the bay in front of us and my dream mind said "There must be a water spout nearby". Next thing I know, I turn around and there it is. I freak out and run for the car.

So the next part of my dream starts. Here, we're headed back to our cabin (which is actually our house in the waking world) and we decide to relax after our horrible experience with some racing games. My friend Daniel was there (I haven't seen him in years. He's not even on the same side of the planet as me.) and at this point of the dream, I was very irate, bordering hostile. So, when the racing game started, he was being annoyed with me and the vague things I was saying (I can't remember what) and I eventually told him that I just wanted him to shut the f* up and let me watch the start of the game.

We played a few races and, for some reason, my brain told me that there was an event or party or something that we were going to be late to if we kept playing the game. Sadly, the hubby decided that he wanted to keep playing and Daniel kept picking the events. I remember losing the game horribly but I did a great job making my custom character look identical to me. I was super skinny in the game but that was the default female body. At least that's how the game justified me not being overweight in the game. (I wear my weight very well, thank you.)

When we were done, the hubby and I ran to the end of the apartment building (it changed into an apartment, apparently) and we got into the elevator. We were in the basement and we were trying to get to the 6th floor. After that, I don't remember much.

      Fish Shopping (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

So in last night's dream, I was going fish shopping (which I did yesterday to help fill out my fish tanks) and Drew and a bunch of male marines were at the mall, too. (Our petstore isn't part of any mall.) But I remember parking out by a nearby StarBucks, talking with Cha for a little while, about what, I don't remember, and then I remember being back at my house, watching my female guppies give birth.

While I was tending to my girl guppies (they are a live birth fish, by the way) I watched them shrink in size to the same size as the fry and they ended up going the way of food like the the other fry. At one point, I stood up, stuck my hand (and fish net) through the front of the glass aquarium and pulled it out. The tank splashed sideways a little and I said aloud "Wait a minute. Gravity doesn't go that way" as I pointed towards the tank, against the wall.
      "I must be dreaming."

I did a reality check and, sure enough, I was dreaming. I wouldn't be for very long, though. I turned to my left and said "I want to see my dream guardian." I forgot to turn away or cover my eyes, though. I said again, "I said I want to see my dream guardian!" I knew that I was doing something wrong but I couldn't figure out what. I looked around me and realized that, except for my fish tank and the window I was watching, the room was a black void. So I looked down at my feet briefly, looked up at the tank and tried the spinning technique to end up in a new place. Instead, I was in a new black void and I didn't know what to do next. I stood there for a moment, did another reality check and 1, I wasn't awake like I initially thought I was, just with my eyes closed and 2, I was sort of lost. I rubbed my hands together thinking that the dream wasn't stable (never considering that I just spun myself into a black void and I needed to build it up) and I saw a green figure in the black fog, almost like a cartoon, and I woke up.

      Puppy Vision (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This time, I had three dreams but I only remembered the last. I only know about my first two dreams because I woke up after each. I forgot them nearly as soon as I opened my eyes and I didn't get the chance to write them down.

My memories of the third dream are very short and fragmented. I remember seeing the world from my puppy's perspective, visiting "Karing Kennels" which is a real animal shelter over here but it looked more like an animal sanctuary. I remember seing my friend Mina. I also remember showing Mina my fish tanks and when one of them busted, she bought me a lot of pet fish. (I've got guppy breeding on the mind.) And I remember flashing my bra at some asshole who wouldn't give me a ride and demanded to see my breasts. I told him to piss off and ended up walking. The last thing I remember is baseball and joggers. A lot of the dreamscape looked like parts of here.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

At least I think I was a moocher in this dream. I do remember being a guy who looked like "The Dude" and who had a crush(?) on a female Elementary teacher. I've been a dude a lot lately. I also remember my apartment being very futuristic. I got woken up after this by Drew.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

There are only a few things I remember here. I was talking to my sister on Skype and she was in art school. She was making masks. I also remember talking to Mina but I can't remember what about. The dogs were in it too in that Taiko barked at a green but that left a slime trail on the floor. It turned into a giant Wiggler bug, though and then another, green one appeared and it ran from me while I chased it with a shoe. Then I woke up, not feeling safe from bugs. The sounds of bugs humming and chirping outside is what probably caused that part of the dream, though.
      --------------------------------------------------------------------
      17.06.2011
      Very briefly lucid. (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This lucid dream was pretty disappointingly short.

Lately, all of my dreams have been interrupted by my dogs, my husbands, discomfort and I can't remember my dreams very well if I'm interrupted.

Here's what I do remember. I remember trying to spin into my dream but I was already too awake by the time I started doing this. Then, I just sort of laid there until my mind wandered and fell asleep.

There are only a few parts that I remember here, too. I remember being in the kitchen were there was a problem with the gas. All of the burners were active at one point. As one was put out, another would light. After messing with the buttons for a little while, I realized that this would never happen (I spend a lot of time in the kitchen) since a lot of the flames were green, pink... colors that wouldn't happen in my kitchen. It was here that I did a reality check and read the 'power button' for the stove (which wasn't burning anymore), looked away and it said something completely different. I tried to do another check and read the time on a microwave twice. I tried to stablize while I was looking at it but I lost the dream when I got woken up by the puppy.

      Scary doll. (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

In the fourth dream I had last night (goodness these dreams are short) I only remember a scary burlap doll at the very end, being mad at a friend Craig, going to Burger King, catching a fish in a pond and putting it in my fish tank and kids skateboarding in the BK parking lot. I remember something like a classroom that Drew and I were in and I also remember choking on some antibiotics. Even the order of the dream is a little hazy, though.

    12. Lost and Very Naked

      16.06.2011
      Lost and Very Naked (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was my third, final and most well-remembered dream of the three that I had last night. It's taking me so long to get to writing this one because I went out with some friends today. Sorry. D:

I was living with my family again and this time, I was living with my -entire- extended family which was sort of trippy. My dad's office was connected to the building (he's now retired). I'll get back to that. I also spent the entirety of this dream wearing nothing but my panties and I tried to cover my nudity with my hands and hair as best I could.

Anyway. In the apartment that we were all living in, one of the women was cooking in the kitchen when the gas went wild and fire started spewing out of the gas valve. It didn't take long to put it out (or much effort, really) but I did run to my sister's room to wake her up and the entire time, the fire was letting out a deafening roar. It sort of sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. I ran back into the kitchen to see that the fire was being put out and that nothing was damaged and no one hurt. I slept(?) in my dream, woke up and walked to the back window only to run into a cousin on my dad's side of the family (who doesn't really exist) and he confessed to being the reason that the fire happened. He said he tried to fix the valve after fixing it but he couldn't do it, and when he couldn't, he decided to save himself the embarassment by not telling anyone. I kept walking with him for a while and ended up walking downstairs to a beach. Here, I realized that I was naked the entire time and decided to run back to get some clothes because I didn't want to be arrested for indecent exposure. So I started to run back inside but nothing was the same. There were no stairs leading upstairs, back to the apartment. Now, it was all Air Force offices, Family rooms and an airport.

The first area I had to run through was the airport but this section was short. I only remember coming to some escalators with signs above them that said things like "Only use this escalator if you're a loud prick" or "Jump up and down like a kid if you want to break this escalator". I didn't want to go up it but decided to anyway since I might get some help here. Luckily, I did and a man who was standing off to one side gave me an old cellphone with my dad's office number on speed dial. I called him and asked him to give me directions back to the apartment but he was busy talking to someone else who was in his office.

Here, I found an Airmen who had fallen from the floor above him in a stairwell. He was surrounded by large burlap bags of soil that he was apparently carrying. I called for help and two more airmen came up. They said the guy was only hungover and gave him a hard time about it. There was blood on the back of his head and he seemed like he had alcohol poisoning.

Just then, I had a strange image flash before me of Marines in sharp uniforms, at attention. The only thing was, they were upside down, balancing on their heads and using an extra pair of boots each to support their heads. Their faces were beaten and bloody but their eyes were closed and they were smiling. This and the bloodied, dirty Airmen were both very disturbing images for me.

Afterwards, I ended up in the "Family Center" part of the building, stole an Oreo milkshake from the table at a kid's party, made it back to the beach where I started somehow (it was now noonish. Before it was early in the morning) and gave up trying to make it back to the apartment.

Out of nowhere I was wearing purple clothes that was made out of grapes and I was singing with another woman in the bushes. The singing was so terrible that I decided that I didn't want to be there anymore and then I woke up.

      Gangsters (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This has nothing to do with the movies or videogame, by the way.

I remember that I was a male hitman/mercenary/whatever who was hired by the Japanese mafia to go into South America and collect some golden treasure from the Pyramid of Giza. Yes, I know it's actually in Africa.

Anyway, I also seemed to have very bad luck with the ladies since every woman I would try to take to dinner would give up and lose interest in me because every date was interrupted by a call from the 'boss man'.

I remember the point of view I was given changing into something from Call of Duty:Black Ops (which I never played) and I was holding a controller in my hand and controlling how I was aiming the gun as time slowed down to save my female companion and myself from Chinese mafia who tried to stop me in an Airport. I failed a few times but, since I got a few retries and the power to turn back time (which changed things dramatically) I was able to finally save her.

Then the rest of the dream gets a little hazy. I remember capturing the Japanese boss-man, revealing that I was actually a woman and then I woke up.

      Johnny Cage? (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Tonight I had three Dreams. The first was very hazy. All I remember is that, for some reason, I was Johnny Cage and I was having sex with Sonya Blade. She got kidnapped from me, I went after her, and then I was woken up by my husband. I don't remember anything else. Both of those characters are characters from Mortal Kombat, by the way. I guess I just have MK on the mind.

First Lucid Experience - I got to fly! (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Since I realized that I was dreaming I guess this is a DILD.

I was going through my morning routine with Drew (the hubby) and a friend of mine, Gour, was sleeping on the couch. Apparently, he snuck into the house through the unlocked front door and crashed there for the night. After we’d “woken up” Drew headed off for work and Gour followed me around the house. At one point, I’d put on a top but had no pants to wear in the room. He sort of leered at me and followed me to the laundry room where I couldn’t close the door because the doorframe was too wide. I had to pull the door towards the lock to make it close and, when it wouldn’t close (it didn’t matter because the door was transparent anyway) Gour and two of his girlfriends appeared and they stared at me, one of the girls doing the evil villain make-out thing to his ear.
I had enough. I was so uncomfortable with the situation that I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t really happenening. So I did two reality checks. The first one, I pinched my cheek. I have no idea, either. The other, I pinched my nose, I kept breathing through my closed nostrils and I said aloud “I’m dreaming!”

I felt my mind shudder with disbelief. The dream flashed and I felt myself waking up. Suddenly, the dream came back only now, the laundry room was empty, there was no door, there was no Gour. I felt like I had a ‘false awakening’ but I did another check and I was still dreaming. Out of curiosity, mostly just to see that I was really in control of my dream, I tried something easy. Summoning a dryer in the corner of the laundry room. I covered my view of the corner with my hand said “I want there to be a dryer there” and when I moved my hand, there it was, thudding onto the ground. I had a pair of pants in my hand now with a wet spot in the middle. I remember finding them while Gour was watching and I touched them with my hand, right on the wet spot and said “dry.”
I put my newly dried pants on and walked to the bedroom. The trip was instantaneous. I looked around at the wood paneling and said “this is ugly.” I looked around at the rest of the room and saw how remarkably clean it was. It was at this point I was rubbing my hands together to keep the dream stable. It worked.
I wanted new colors in my room so I just started saying things like “I want the walls to be Forest Green, now Red. That’s too bright. What about.. rosewood?” And the colors stopped changing when I was happy. I changed the ceiling and molding apricot, too. I was very happy with the result.
It was at this point I remember thinking “I wonder how fast time is moving in real life” and “I don’t want this to end.”
I stood at my curtains and said aloud “planets, stars, dark orange” because I wanted to have a beautiful sky in my dream world.
I walked through the closed, glass window, with the glass stretching over me like saran wrap and letting go with no strain on my part. I looked up and saw no planets, no orange but I did see a beautiful sky. It was light blue, vivid, and the clouds were small and scarce. There was no wind. Through the blue sky I could see stars though and I commented on the beauty. Not what I wanted but it was at least a beautiful sky.
I teleported back into my computer room but I wasn’t sure I was still dreaming. The dream felt so real that I reached out and touched my fish tank and it actually felt like it was there. I pinched my nose again and continued breathing. I remembered that I was dreaming and walked outside through the window. This time, I wanted to fly. I rubbed my hands together to keep it stable, I ended up in the entranceway and put on my shoes, walked outside, took a deep breath and jumped. I kept thinking to myself “I won’t be able to do it.” But, as I soared higher and higher, I kept thinking to myself “I’m going to fly. For the first time, I’m going to fly.”
And I did. Flying over the lowest clouds, I saw my dream island. For some reason, I could just feel in my gut that it was mine. I flew down and on my way to the shore that came before the island (it was round and around it was a heart shape. I couldn’t tell whether it was reef or boats or other, smaller islands.)
I floated down, letting my feet touch the ground only once and I flew by Arnold Schwarzenegger who was repairing a car. I made an “I’ll be back” joke and we talked smack about Reb Brown. But I wanted to see what was up with the island so I flew down to the shore, rubbing my hands. I kept doing my reality checks and, on my way to one of the side islands, I felt the dream fading. I desperately kept rubbing my hands to keep it from fading but it was already nearly gone. I closed my eyes and focused on my hands. And when that didn’t work, I tried to open my eyes but couldn’t. I still recognized that I was in a dream and tried looking through my closed eyes (which is a recurring theme in my dreams, even since I was a child) and it worked! But the world around me was already beginning to turn a light grey. I saw the island I was trying to reach fade into the grey, I no longer had a body and I woke up.
