    Beyond the Horizon

There is a city of glass filled with silence.

    1. Catastrophic dream space? | Sunday 31st July 2011

by , 07-31-2011 at 02:56 PM (Beyond the Horizon)

I am with a bunch of random people in an airfield. There is some sort of small, insignificant explosion happening about 50 metres away.
It doesn't seem dangerous, and is making some cool patterns in the air. I am recording it with my camera. We are driving in a tour bus, that has no roof or sides. Similar to a luggage carrier.
Then, while looking at the screen of the camera, one of the patterns travels close to us.

Everyone just chuckles. Then one flies and hits one of the passengers. We all scream, even though she is okay.
We speed off. The area is really flat.
At one point I am off the bus, and it continues to travel with everyone else to escape the explosion, even though it's stopped.
I am with two familiar dream characters. Their house was in a previous nuclear disaster dream I've had.

This current dream is happening sometime after that dream, so they have rebuilt and are happily doing things around the house.
The woman shows me something that the guy had made around the back of the house.
There were 5 dummies, that looked very lifelike, lined up on a little ridge of grass. The woman pressed a button and there were explosions underneath the dummies. They were intact.

Later I am inside the house, and I am at a bedside. On the bed is my grandma I didn't know it then, but I was to visit my grandma while she was in hospital for the first time, today.
Next to the bed there is a switch that rotates. I twisted it, and the colour balance of the room changed. The switch had a scale of warm orange to cool teal. That must be the cinematographic part of me
Then I am outside with the two people again, driving along the straight road near the house. On one side of the horizon there is a massive fog cloud. Something to do with the airfield explosion earlier.
I think it caused some catastrophe, like what normally happens at this dream place. I wasn't too worried about them this time.

Did I just discover the place where my subconscious tries to deal with catastrophes in my life?

The other end of the horizon had a massive storm system that was going to have tornadoes. As if this was Tornado Alley in America.
We were debating which way we should take our chances with. We decided for the new fog-related disaster. I've been through the tornado storm before. And it's still there.

We go over a small hill and there is a really long highway bridge over an expanse of water. The fog shrouds the other end of the highway.
I am driving. We head onto the bridge. There are lots of obstacles on the bridge, including a small, yellow oncoming car that stopped.
I can't remember what happened immediately after that, but I woke up not long after.

After reading this, I can relate half the elements in the dream to things that are happening in real life, and the other half to things that happened today, after the dream.

First lengthy dream in a while

In a small bus being driven through some hills covered in bush. At the carpark, there are lots of people, including a family from church (Yap).
There is a bunch of kids all doing a competition, they all put their hands in to the centre, like sport teams do before a game, and cheered.
I joined the game too. Still in the carpark surrounded by bush.

I won. The prize is an iPod case. Someone next to me shows me their iPod, and I scroll through some apps. There was a contact list and one of them was "limbocity".
I was amazed that he had my DreamViews name in his contacts, and I said "Are you from dreamviews?" He just nodded.

Next I was being driven through a dark blue tunnel, and I was looking at my iPod, which was now an iPhone. I could hear people singing a song about the iPhone 4's features.
I was obviously very excited that I had an iPhone in my hands.

Then it was my house, but it was serving as a hideout for the person from DreamViews, and two others, also from DreamViews.
I tried to ask the guy who he was, and he didn't say anything. He was wearing my school's uniform, so I said "You go to my school?!"
He didn't say or do anything.
I had his iPod again and it said @slash112. The other two said it was really slash. I think one of the other two was SilverDreams.
They are telling me that we are all being hunted for some reason.

Next we are at a giant warehouse in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by sandy hills. It's like I'm being told a story by one of the DreamViews members.
One little kid there has a super power: being able to run really fast. He is being chased by bad people around this warehouse. Then I become this little person.
I'm running around really fast, before jumping into the water that leads out of the warehouse.
There is a gate before the outside world, being controlled by some random in a security booth.
"Open the door please!" the people were getting closer. He opens the gate, which has massive spikes on them. They shut too quickly for me to get through.

He won't open them for longer, so I somehow "make" him, like controlling him. So I escape.

Next scene, I was standing on the roof of another warehouse in the same sort of orange environment. There were three super-mutants, one of which was called the Silver Surfer.
Someone said "We already have a Silver Surfer, why is there another one?"
The so-called Silver Surfer was more like an ice thing, and can freeze stuff.
He started shedding his ice scales, and some random floating ball with tentacles consumed the ice thing's intestines.

Next scene was some small Middle-Eastern Town, high up in the mountains so there is snow everywhere. I was with my parents like on a holiday. It was night. The moon was bright.
I tried to buy something with Australian money, but they said, in fluent English, that I can't use that. "There is an ATM near the international banking shop around the other side of town."
The town was elevated, so you can fall off the edges. I tried to go around the other side, but the area got darker, and more isolated.
There were no people at this part of town, it looked like an abandoned carnival.
Pretty creepy. I could still hear the busy marketplace I was just at.

I went further along, and there were small abandoned houses. I just decided to go back to the marketplace, and my parents.

      I woke up.

      Then tried to sleep again.

I was back in the marketplace, but in a 2-storey building. Sunrise in the frosty town. Sitting at a window, looking out over where my parents were standing at ground level.
I was half-asleep, thinking how much I wanted to meet someone in the dream, and I was calling out to my friend LostInLA to come sit here with me, but I was woken again.

      Very long, and convoluted dream.

    3. Money

by , 07-27-2011 at 02:08 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
      Just a fragment

I got enough money ready for school to get a hot drink (chai latte) and to pay somebody back who I owed.

I didn't realise until I got to school in REAL LIFE that it was just a dream and I had NO money in my wallet :'(

    4. Chicago, but not

by , 07-24-2011 at 10:37 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
      Fragment

I was with a school group, like an excursion (field trip). We had been travelling a long way by foot, but I only remember when we reached the top of this sand hill, and there was a whole city below us.

There was sand and water everywhere, the buildings weren't as high as skyscrapers. Someone said "We finally reached Chicago!"

I took out my camera and captured the city. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

      I wake up.

lol the only time I've seen Chicago was in the movie "Source Code". It's a good movie,

    5. Betting on the Tour de France

by , 07-16-2011 at 01:57 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I don't watch the Tour, or have any idea how it works.

So me and my church friends are standing along the track that the riders are on, waiting for them to pass. Someone asks us who we think will win, and we don't know. One friend places a random bet for fun.

Now it's raining at the finish line and we are told that we just won $15,000.
We are all in shock at how much money that is. We had to split it up so we each get $3000.
Some time passes and most people have left the area. I still haven't got my money.

I'm searching for the guy who told us we had won, and the area turned into my dining room. The people that were at the finish line are suddenly having a party.
They are bouncing up and down, with no music, and in the dark. I walk past the silent party and into my loungeroom.

      I wake up.

    6. First proper dreams in a month!

by , 02-17-2011 at 12:06 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
Okay so school's back on, and I've been getting 6 and a half hours sleep a night, resulting in missing out on the later REM cycles where all the vivid dreams are

But last night, I got to sleep for a glorious 10 hours

I was on a roller coaster on a very clear blue day, with a best friend from school and his girlfriend, when something weird happened.

I realised it was a dream just as the roller coaster was at a high spot. I started shouting "This is a dream!!" hoping it would stabilize me, and get my friend to realise too (you never know; it might be them for real).

But, again, I thought I was waking up. It was really just the dream getting more vivid, and when I was talking, I was convinced that I was half-asleep already and talking in my bed. I can't remember exactly what happened after that, but I know now that when I thought I was waking up and could see my bedroom, it was still actually a dream

So yeah, now I know that as soon as I get that last hour or two of sleep, I will ALWAYS have a lucid

by , 01-21-2011 at 11:04 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was in some big, random house and out the back, there was a field, like a farm. My friends were waiting for me to get the cereal, and a giant puppy burst through the wall and started licking my face and being all friendly

It was a beagle, and it could barely fit into the room. BUT IT WAS SO CUTE lol

    8. An actual SHARED DREAM

by , 01-20-2011 at 03:28 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
At first it wasn't lucid. I was surrounded by school people; teachers students etc. and there was a tower that two people had to climb. I was just spectating at first, then I became one of the two people. It was kind of like a tower from Assassin's Creed, but don't let that put you off the rest of this DJ. The other guy beat me by like 0.1 seconds. But the top was a trap. It wasn't stable and soon, the other guy fell off and died

I struggled to maintain my balance as the top of the tower was constantly changing and shifting. I eventually fell off, having a classic "falling" dream. But I think that by the time I hit the bottom, I realised that IRL, I never fall of high things, so this must be a dream.

After a memory gap, I found that I was lucid with LostInLA and our friend from church, "B". We were having an awesome time, taking huge leaps and floating down towards the ground again, 200 metres away. We kept doing that, and we passed lots of different scenery. At one point it the ground was a dull grey and there was a castle ahead of us, but it didn't matter. We stopped just before the castle. I said "Why don't we fly?" I then proceeded to jump really high and will myself to fly. But I just hit the ground again. The other two just laughed. We went off to the right, away from the castle.

I remembered that there was something important to do, my dream goals, but I couldn't remember them. Just as we leaped over a massive, green, mossy rock, B said "Let's go to Italy!". She then teleported us all to a really small area that just had 5 buildings that were were standing in the centre of. I jumped up high to see where we were, but outside the 5 buildings, there was just blackness for the ground, and surrounding us in the sky was just a bad quality wallpaper of Italy.

While in the air, I remembered about how I'm supposed to help my cousin with her nightmares, so I shut my eyes and tried to teleport to her house, but it only half worked and I slowly faded back to the Italy place. I hit the ground next to the other two. I said "I need to help my cousin (S) with her nightmares," as I tried really hard this time. I saw a small white vortex when I shut my eyes. Eventually I was at my cousins house. The two bedrooms are opposite each other in their house. The two boys in one, and the two girls in the other.

I arrived in what was supposed to be S and her sister's bedroom, but it was really dark, and there wasn't a bed in there. Just black coloured tables and random things around the room. A second after I arrived, LostInLA and B appeared too. I guess they didn't want to leave me on my own. LostInLA mentioned about waking up since we had been jumping around and talking for a while now, and I said "You want to wake up now?" and she said "Nah, I'll wait."

I then asked them both to say "I will remember my dreams tonight." LostInLA said it like it was a bother to say it, but B said it with enthusiasm. "Alright, I'm going to find S now," they nodded.

I looked out into the hallway. The end of it was blocked. In front of me was the boy's bedroom, but inside, it looked like it had been changed into the girl's room; pink walls etc.
The sister was sleeping, but she looked strange, almost Asian (not that Asians are strange, but it was strange for her to look like that).
S was supposed to be sleeping, but she was just sitting at her table by the window, with craft in front of her. She wasn't doing the craft when I was there.

I walked around so I could see her face, and said "Hey S". (I said her name). She turned and said "Isn't it weird when you try to burp twice in a row?" I was confused by this response, but I tried it and said "Wow, it IS weird "
I had to try and get into her actual dreams, and find out where she is, but I didn't know how to go about it, so I placed my hand on her head, but nothing happened. I just ruffled her hair and said something about how she isn't having any nightmares tonight.

Out the window, there was a massive field of plants, they were growing strawberries and lemons from waist-high grass plants.

      I let myself wake up.

My arm was the most dead it has ever been in my life. I sat up in my bed, and my arm just dragged along after me. It was completely dead. As the circulation returned, I ran out of my bedroom and texted LostInLA, saying I had just had a long lucid with her, does she remember?
She texted back that she didn't remember her dreams.
I then rang up my cousin. This was the phone conversation:

Me: "Hi, may I speak to S please?"
      S: "Hello?"
      Me: "Hey! It's Kevin."
      S: "Oh hi!"
Me: "Did you remember your dreams?"
S: "Kind of. They were good dreams."
Me: "So you didn't have any nightmares?"
      S: "Nope "
Me: "Well, I had a really long lucid dream with me and my two church friends, and at the end of it, I went to you..
(I described the bit with her in it)
S: "Yeah, that's basically how mine went too."
Me: "Really?! And also, outside the window, there were strawberries and lemons growing."
S: "We actually ARE growing strawberries and lemons out the back. Grandma cut some lemons off a tree and we put them into pots. I started growing strawberries in pots too."
Me: "Seriously?! Wow! What were you doing just before I rang?"
S: "Getting ready to go to Timezone."
      Me: "Okay then, have fun!

I then texted B, and she said "Really?? I remembered my dreams when I woke up, but now I can't remember them."

    9. First night of attempted SD and nightmare-fixing

by , 01-14-2011 at 11:03 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
My cousin is sleeping over for a few days, and we are trying to have a shared dream together. As she was falling alseep she twitched a lot. She told me it was from bad dreams. We will fix this

      NIGHT 1:

      Dream 1:

I was with a few friends outside my house. It was cloudy. We were just playing around and having fun, then we went inside and there was something wrong, like a feeling of imminent danger. I thought how cool it would be if it was a dream. I said it out loud, and everyone in the room was all like "Does this LOOK like a dream to you?".

The dream looked and FELT so real. It was the most convincing dream I have ever had. Nevertheless, I said "This is a dream," just to be sure. Then the lucidity "unlocked" and I got goosebumps. I ran out the door and I think I flew, then a noise woke me up instantly.

      Dream 2:

I was at primary school (OMG) doing work experience. I hadn't been there the last few days in the dream, so when I went to my supervising teacher to ask where to go, she said "Who were you with before?". I tried to remember, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't remember the teacher's name. So I tried to describe her and how she had curly hair but it's naturally straight, and she curls it using those cylinder things you put in your hair. She had no idea who I was talking about, so I just went to a random classroom.

Turns out she was another teacher I had. She was angry at me for not being here for a few days, but in my head I thought it was a public holiday. The kids were grade 1 so they were being taught the first five letters of the alphabet, and they all repeated it.

Later I was in the main concrete area, and I saw my church friends. IRL, we had just come back from a camp in a place called Toowoomba, which is having horrific floods at the moment. We escaped one day before the place flooded.
Suddenly we were at a campsite (didn't see THAT coming) and we were walking around some random bush track, but the bush wasn't very thick, and the path was very wide like a road.
There was water on the path, like a massive puddle about 30 metres long. We had just walked through it when we heard an announcement saying that the water was electrified from lightning and was poisonous as well. I stayed at the edge of the puddle, but my friend LostInLA started wading back through the water to where we came from, thinking it was better. I called out but she didn't hear me.

      Dream 3:

I was at a beach place, like where I normally go for a holiday. My mum and dad were driving me to the unit we have rented. It was a nice day, but the whole time there was a feeling of imminent danger. We were inside the unit, and my dad was in the bathroom grooming in the mirror as if for a special occasion. My mum was nearby. In my room, there was a toilet next to my bed.
For some reason, I asked my mum if I could jerk off before we go (seriously wtf?), to which she explained that I'm not supposed to ask, just not be caught :S.
We were outside again and I think that "danger" came and I woke up

In all the dreams, it was cloudy. Today it was cloudy.

      Cousin's dream:

She was with me and her mum at the shops near her house, and it flooded.

    10. Mombasa

by , 01-11-2011 at 02:51 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was running through a forest track with a dozen other people, heading towards the African city Mombasa, even though the forest was more like South American. It was almost like we were refugees. We all came up to a massive cliff with the city in the distance, so we took a lower path through thicker bush. We started across the boardwalk, when there were picture frames floating on the side of the path, as if they were on invisible walls. They had random stuff on them.

Wow I need to get better recall.

I was at some random house for a party, but I didn't know anyone there. Something happened to one of the people, something bad enough to worry about a police officer walking past outside. It transformed into daytime and I was in Team Fortress 2, after playing it IRL the first time last night. There was a weird twist to it though; when someone damages you, you start transforming into them.

For example, one guy was a walking tree (lol) and he got shot by some red guy, and half his health was gone. He transformed into a half-red human, half-tree. Towards the end of my dream, I switched classes to one that had dual machine guns. I killed to guys before waking up.

Looking back on it now, I don't like that I was just a mindless killing machine

    12. Lucid, but INTERRUPTED!

by , 12-27-2010 at 12:24 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was at my church with the Pathfinders. The leader was the main focus of my dream for some reason. After just standing around not doing much, we suddenly decided that we had to get in the car and go somewhere. After a short memory gap of our leader just driving, we were suddenly in the middle of Sydney with sky-scrapers all around.

The road in front of us suddenly went up almost vertically, and we were driving up it like normal. Kind of like Inception, but it was only the road, and it didn't curl over. We went really high up, but not above the buildings. The other side only had a small decline.

Suddenly I was outside the car, and lucid. I found myself standing in a marketplace like Chinatown. I rubbed my hands together (a personal favourite of mine) and kept doing so while walking down the narrow market lane. The kept on rubbing my hands, until my dream became so vivid that I could taste the city air. The small market buildings were bright yellow.

I decided I was stable enough to start flying without waking up accidentally. I sort of jumped, and I floated up onto a roof. I ran along the roofs and leap/floated over the gaps. At one point I had to jump really hard to get onto a 4-storey building, but when I did, I almost felt like I wasn't going to stop flying upwards (like in old dreams from years ago) and continue into space. But just before the panic broke in, I simply dropped back down and onto the roof. *PHEW*

I felt a bit of adrenaline, which can wake you up, but it didn't. I was standing at the beginning of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, although it was much smaller. I started thinking about what I was going to do. I thought about the advanced Task of the Month, the one about Whoville, but I thought "Meh, screw it!" and decided I was going to dream-visit the people on my list who have asked me to make them lucid through a Shared Dream. I was about to spin...

And my parents yelled too loudly, I woke up and actually spun in my bed, it was so fast.
    13. Laptop Problems

by , 12-24-2010 at 01:32 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was on the top level of a shopping centre carpark, so the sky was above me. There was a problem with my laptop (just like IRL) and I think there were people I had to run from.

    14. On a train, then an FA

by , 12-20-2010 at 11:32 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was with my mum on a train. I had lots of stuff to carry, so when our stop came, my mum got off, but I had to pick up all my stuff. I missed the stop because I took too long, but it didn't matter because apparently this has happened before, so I would just get off at the next stop.
I got off, but then I got lost at the train station.

I had a false awakening. I was talking to my sister and said that the last thing I remember was being at a train station, so how did I end up in my bedroom? I was wondering about this for the whole FA.

    15. Lucid again!!! :)

by , 12-20-2010 at 11:26 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was in a random place, I wish I remember where, but I randomly became lucid. I had already done the snowball task, so I tried for the Whoville one again. I spun around, and I was in a different place, but I was really dizzy from spinning around. I tried to spin again to get to Whoville, but it didn't work, so I tried flying there.

I was in a backyard. I jumped high to try and fly, but it didn't work, so then I took a run-up and leaped up into the air, and it worked.
I went up really high really fast, into the twilight sky, but it made me wake up. I tried to focus on the backyard again to go back into the dream, but I woke up.
