    1. The Battle For Your Heart

One of the most amazing lucids I've had in ages!

The Battle for Your Heart (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Arcadia, a beautiful woman with long white hair (who seems to be some sort of deity) whom I falsely remember dreaming about before, announces to me and the team of people I am with that we must travel to a different part of the dream to eliminate a certain threat. She says it's nothing major, just something that needs to be done. I also falsely remember having this particular dream before, and I want a different ending than the supposed "other" time.

We arrive at the house of a rather crazy but seemingly benign family who is supposed to transport us to where we need to go. Their refrigerator is actually something similar to a Tardis in disguise, so they immediately go about cramming me and my team into the small shelf spaces. I am instinctively aware that the family is evil and is going to turn on us soon, but we are too vulnerable to cause a conflict at the moment. I don't want to be attacked while trapped in the tight confines of this refrigerator.

Soon, it doesn't matter what I want. The family (who is apparently some type of gang) attacks, but I manage to quickly get myself out and under cover before they can shoot me. A long battle ensues. Much of it involves a deadly back and forth shooting between my team and the crazy gang-family. It isn't long before I run out of ammo. I act as though my gun is still loaded in order to keep the enemy at bay as I search for a new weapon, hoping to do so before they realize that I'm basically unarmed. I'm somewhat surprised that the guns are working in the first place, as they usually malfunction in my dreams. I'm also worried about forgetting parts of what is happening when I wake up, because the battle has been going on for a long time and I know I'm bound to lose parts of it. (Sadly true.)

In my search for a new weapon, I happen upon a high tech grenade that, in addition to a fiery explosion, shoots out spinning projectiles that will slice anything nearby to bits. I activate the grenade, shout a warning to my team, then throw it and run out of the house as fast as my legs will carry me. We barely make it out the door before the whole house goes up in flames.

The battle against the remaining enemies takes me into the trees, where I am sniping down gang members who get too close. Out of nowhere, mutant zombies similar to lickers from Resident Evil begin scaling the trees toward me. One of the mutations splits it's head open, revealing rows of disgusting teeth along each side of its interior. Adrenaline kicks in and I manage to shoot them all in the head and kill them before they can get to me.

With the enemies pretty much gone or sent running, Arcadia appears. "This problem runs much deeper than I originally thought," she tells me anxiously.

"You mean because of the zombies?" I ask.

      "No, even deeper than that."

As we walk back to Arcadia's control room, I slip my arm around her waist. She stops and removes it promptly. "Keep your hands to yourself," she reprimands me.

"Well excuse me," I scoff with a little laugh, both surprised and somewhat amused at being rejected by a dream character. Grinning mischievously, I walk unnecessarily close to her so that our arms are pressed together. I expect her to tell me to back off again, but she doesn't.

Back in the control room, we are suddenly ambushed by members affiliated with the gang. We take cover behind a pillar, taking turns stepping out to shoot. Arcadia is now Alice from Resident Evil. When she steps out to shoot, the enemy shoots first and manages to land a hit right in her chest. She kills most of them from the floor, then I step out and take care of the rest before kneeling down beside her. I see that the wound is very bad. She is moaning in pain.

"No, shh, it'll be okay, I'll get you help," I tell her. (I'm pretty much only semi-lucid at this point and don't realize I could just heal her myself.) She tells me that the people in the building next door know her and will know what to do. Leaning down, I kiss her gently: a promise that I won't let her die. She looks surprised.

I pick her up as carefully as I can manage, but she still cries out in pain from being moved. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," I keep saying as I carry her to the aforementioned building. The man and woman who live there are deeply concerned, but before they can do anything, Alice dies. At her death, her shape disentigrates to a tiny stone figure with a bullet hole in the center.

I am shocked. How could she be dead in a dream when I've been willing for her to live? NO, I refuse to let her stay dead! In a weird stroke of dream intuition, I literally breathe life into her through the wound until she is finally herself again, alive and well.

Triumphant, I kiss her again. This time, to my surprise, she kisses me back. When I look at her inquisitively, she says I deserve it after saving her life. I smile happily, relieved that she is okay. The dream ends shortly afterwards.

    2. A New End

      A New End (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Realizing that I don't have the project I'm supposed to be working on, I remember that I had handed it to Alex after lunch for her to take back to the room. Upon asking her, she admits that she accidentally left it in her last class. She agrees to go get it if I walk with her. "What building is it in?" I ask. She says some weird name that I've never heard of. I figure it must be something specifically for music students.

As we are walking from our dorm, I notice some people eating and I become extremely hungry. I also have a horrible feeling that today somehow marks the end of the world. I tell Alex that I want to eat some really good food since it might just be our last meal. She wants to know what I mean, so I tell her about my feeling. "Why would the world randomly end today?" she asks.

"I don't know... But still, it's close to dinner time and I want food."

We make it to her class and she gives me back my project. She points to a sign on the far end of the warehouse-like building that says something along the lines of "Suzie's Corner."

"That's a good place to eat," she tells me. I am amazed that there is a restaurant in here that I've never heard of before. Weird...

When we go over there to get food, there are a lot of men in construction get-up walking around working. Something feels really off all of a sudden. The restraunt is near the opening of the building, and it becomes apparent that all is not well outside. In fact, there appears to be a growing congregation of zombies.

"Are those... zombies?" I ask, not sure whether to believe my eyes.

"Um... looks like it," Alex answers incredulously.

As we search the zombie infested campus for our friends, it becomes clear that these are not normal zombies. They are fast moving when they want to be, and they have limited speech capabilites (mainly to assure their victims that they won't bite them). They also seem to have no desire to eat human flesh, only to infect. It later becomes apparent that they are extremely interested in candy, so I refer to them as Adventure Time zombies.

Along the way, we find several of our friends who are alive and well. But each one of them soon falls prey to the zombies, one by one. At one point, I am holding a girl I know as she cries--- her best friend had just become a zombie and I barely stopped her from turning the girl into one.

Soon, I feel as though I'm the only human left. Alex is still alive, no doubt, but we have become separated and it would be foolish to stay here. So I manage to escape campus (despite the blockade attempt made by the zombies), and begin walking through a stretch of woods towards the city.

It is not long before I'm attacked by a possibly infected weasle. I stomp on the thing several times, clearly crushing it's back, but it keeps coming at me! Finally I hold it down with one foot and grind my other foot into its head until it dies.

I am somewhat disturbed by my brutality towards this animal,
which causes me to abruptly become lucid. Yes! I fly toward the city, currently content with just exploring. But I become briefly distracted by a scene that I will not describe here.

I leave the distraction behind, somewhat annoyed at myself, and head further into the city. Alex suddenly catches up with me and asks what I'm doing. "I'm dreaming," I tell her, "so I guess I'm going to look for something fun to do." She asks if she can come with me and I agree.

The dream deteriorates when I run into my mom, and her pushiness makes me lose lucidity.

    3. Lucid Exploration

      by , 11-22-2012 at 04:27 PM (Death's Other Kingdom)
      Night of 11/17/12

I am wandering around the dream world, just exploring and playing around with my dream powers. At one point, I am giving some DCs a tour of my dream map.

As I am walking, I look up in the sky and notice several missiles headed straight for us. I immediately flee from their path in great leaping bounds. After they've been detonated, one of my "crew members" tells me they were set off by a traitor.

I instantly call out the traitor and he begins chasing me and my informant. I run, thrilled to have some excitement. We are on the roof of a building; my informant tells me she cannot jump to the next roof. "It's too far!" she cries.

"No it's not," I tell her. "Just jump! You'll make it." I grab her hand and drag her along with me as I jump to the next building, making sure she lands safely on her feet.

Looking over my shoulder, I note that the traitor is in hot persuit. Okay, running time is over. "Stand back," I tell my companion as I draw a sword from thin air.

The traitor quickly approaches with a sword of his own. He is an excellent fighter, but I can see every move he is going to make and easily parry his attacks. Finally, I kick him off balance and hold him to the ground, keeping him in place as the rest of my crew comes to take him away.

    4. Nightmare Sequence

      by , 11-22-2012 at 03:41 PM (Death's Other Kingdom)
      Night of 11/8/12

I am standing in my room when I notice a small yellow jacket flying around. Great, how did a bee get in here? I am looking for something to smash it with, when suddenly a whole SWARM of bees is in the room, covering litterally every inch of the walls. Completely freaked out, I bolt from the room, screaming, swatting bees out of my hair.

Out in the hallway, I realize Alex (my roommate) is still in the room sleeping. "Alex!" I yell. "Alex! You'd better get out here before the bees sting you!" But as I look around the hallway, I notice to my extreme horror that it is also filled with bees! Is it a yellow jacket plague!? What do I do??? There is nowhere for me to walk without upsetting the swarm. I am so alarmed that I jolt into a false awakening.

Now I am standing beside my desk, telling Alex about my dream. Before I can get more than a few words out, however, she suddenly freaks out and points at my wall. There, is a small bee-like insect. "Don't worry," I tell her nervously, "that must have been what caused me to have the dream."

But as I get a closer look, I see that it is not a bee at all: it is a tiny demonic looking fairy wearing a gas mask. The fairy gives me a look that clearly says, "You'd better not tell anyone you saw me."

I immediately grab Alex and drag her out into the hallway to tell her what I saw. Out in the hallway, however, we are alarmed to find the massive swarm of yellow jackets! "This is just like my dream!" I shriek, before doing a reality check.

      No wonder. I'm still dreaming.

Another false awakening. Now, I am in the bathroom with Alex, Jake, Sadie (my cat), and Roxie (Jake's dog). Roxie turns into a clone of Sadie. They alternate between hissing at each other and rubbing against each other affectionately. "What's up with them?" I ask Jake.

"Oh, they do that all the time," he says nonchalantly.

I bend down to pet them. At first, they purr and lean into my hand. Then, Jake says, "And that's what demon cats do."

Suddenly, the cats become completely feral and tear up my arm. It hurts a bit, but it is also accompanyied by a feeling so terrible, a feeling of complete and utter horror, that I am once again jolted into a false awakening
      .

This time, I am lying in bed in my dark room. Freaked out, I instantly do a reality check and determine that I'm still dreaming. A dark skinned girl with long hair sits at the foot of my bed, holding my large HP Lovecraft book. She is rambling about aliens crawling through her ears to her brain. I instinctively know that she's about to enact some sort of dream torture upon me, and I'm screaming at her to go away. I am stuck in sleep paralysis, unable to defend myself.

As a last resort, I close my eyes and let the darkness wash the dream away. I'll wake up in a better dream, I'll wake up in a better dream, I think to myself frantically, but a feeling of utter terror has taken over the entire atmosphere, and I know the next dream will be worse than the last.

I struggle to get out of sleep paralysis and into the real world, but every time I open my eyes, the most terryfying figure is looming over me. He has incredibly long arms which are wrapped tightly around me, pulling me out of reality toward a worse nightmare. His face is the most twisted, demented thing I've ever seen, it can't even be described with words, and he's wearing a large top hat.

Knowing that it is just a dream does not protect me from the agonizing feelings that he is inflicting in me. I am still frantically struggling to wake myself up, but each time I pull myself from the paralysis enough to do a reality check, I am still dreaming!

After what seems like ages, I finally jolt awake, panting heavily. I am instantly annoyed with myself for breaking my most important rule: DON'T WAKE YOURSELF UP.

    5. Let The Fear Begin

      by , 11-22-2012 at 03:30 PM (Death's Other Kingdom)
      Night of 10/8/12

I am lucid, though it seems to be a very low level.

I have accidentally awakened an evil Goddess, who is sending horrific atrocities to torment me. A large, disturbing deity has risen up from the ground, among other horrors. Narration claims there are Holy Books at my disposal to get rid of everything, but I cannot see the books.

I flee and somehow end up with a talking sheep as a companion. We enter a building and are given a riddle that has something to do with a certain "Flor." I'm assuming that it's some sort of Earth Goddess reference. Somehow it ends up being a demented Silent Hill version of my friend Amanda who crawls from a stained glass window toward me.

All sorts of creepy people whose eyes and mouths are stapled shut appear. They start shooting needles at me, which hurt A LOT. I try to escape, but they swarm me and drag me to the ground. Even though I know it is a dream, it is still very freaky. I am considering whether or not to classify the dream as a nightmare while the creatures proceed to pile on top of me. I force myself into a false awakening.

    6. Where is the White Dragon?

      by , 10-01-2012 at 01:40 AM (Death's Other Kingdom)
I don't usually have many risqué dreams, but this one was pretty interesting. ((This contains some slightly mature content, so don't read if you're not comfortable with this, please.))

      Night of 9/30/12

      ["Where is the White Dragon!?"]
I am looking out the window late at night, when I see what appears to be two large dragons fighting high up in the starry sky. As I watch, their fight grows closer and closer to the ground until they are right outside my house. I can now see that one is white with scales and the other is a black-feathered dragon. Both are about as big as the house itself.

The white dragon soon kills her opponent and begins to feast upon him, when she suddenly sees me watching from the window. I don't believe she'll bother attacking me since she has just made a kill, but I am wrong. The dragon sticks her head through the open window and makes a snap at me.

I run to the other end of the house--- she follows. Eventually I am forced to jump out a window and make an escape. The dragon soon follows me, however, eyes glowing bright yellow in the dark.

When I reach the graveyard, I realize that I will never outrun such a massive creature. I stop and wait for her to approach, thinking desperately for a plan. "Don't kill me," I say, "I can be of use to you."

The dragon suddenly transforms into a girl who looks perhaps a bit older than I. "And what exactly do you have to offer me?" she purrs, looking at me in amusement.

I sigh, realizing what she wants. "Myself," I tell her resignedly.

She grins. "Hmm. That sounds like it might just be a good deal. Okay then." She giggles and pulls me forward, lying back on the ground and positioning me on top of her. "Touch me," she orders.

I lift up her shirt and slowly trail my fingers along her smooth stomach while she watches me with an interested expression. After a few moments, she complains that I'm tickling her. Smiling slightly to myself, I deliberately stroke her stomach a few more times before moving my hands a bit higher and kneading her breasts. She closes her eyes and moans.

Before I can take things even further, bright lights suddenly shine all around us. Oh crap.

Apparently the sounds of the dragon fight alarmed the neighborhood, and authorities were sent to deal with the matter. Some of the men present are leaders of an important club I had joined a few hours earlier, and I am somewhat embarrassed to be caught in this situation. I look down at the dragon-girl, chagrined. She seems more alarmed than embarrassed.

I get off of her, and while I am distracted with the leering looks of the moronic men standing beside me, some people (dragon hunters, I believe) grab my dragon-girl and run off with her. As soon as I realize this, I become filled with worry and take off after them. I have to save her!

Some friends of mine are now helping me track the dragon hunters down. They are slowly climbing the side of a building. "Why are you wasting time climbing when this is a dream?" I shout impatiently. "Fly, you idiots!" I leap on top of the building and jump from rooftop to rooftop until I reach some old ruins where I find the hunters.

They are armed to the teeth, while I must rely on my own hands. Soon, however, I manage to kick one of the hunters off the top of the ruins and steal his knife. I then hold one of the others at knife point and yell, "Where is the White Dragon!?" He refuses to answer, so I slit his throat.

Suddenly, I hear dragon like noises to my left, at a large seemingly vacant area where there are chains. I "remember" that the dragon can turn invisible, so I rush past all the other hunters to where she's lying. She reappears, in dragon form. She's lying on her back, bleeding badly from a large wound in her gut.

"It's gonna be okay," I tell her as soothingly as I can manage, gently hugging her massive form. "I'll get you out of here." But she seems to be in a really bad state, and I don't know how I will manage this.

      I wake up shortly afterwards.
    7. One Thing After Another

      by , 12-04-2011 at 01:29 AM (Death's Other Kingdom)
I've been slacking off on my lucid dreaming lately, so to get back into the swing of things I've decided to actually start using this dream journal instead of letting it sit around collecting metaphorical dust.

      My last two lucid dreams:

      10/15/11
      [Missing the Bus]
Upon coming out of the school and realizing that I have missed the bus, I become lucid and decide to take a little walk down Main Street to see what might come up. It is a beautiful, overcast, rainy afternoon with no one in sight-- just as I like it. I talk to myself to say lucid while I make note of the similarities and differences of Dream Main Street from Real Main Street. Enjoying the peaceful walk, I am a bit dismayed when fear seeps through me from the very air itself and I notice I creepy girl standing ahead of me in the empty street. She is chanting in a sing-song voice, "Twilight! Sunshine! Twilight! Sunshine!" She approaches me and stops a few inches away, still chanting. Clearly, she's psychotic.

I ignore the irrational fear and decide to have a bit of fun. "Hey, take it easy," I tell her soothingly, pulling her into an embrace. "It'll be alright." I see sanity return to her eyes, and I can't help myself: I press a gentle kiss to her lips. When she kisses me back, I push her against the wall of the store we're standing near, and we begin making out. After a few moments, however, she stops me. Apparently I have done something to anger her in the past, and she isn't yet ready to forgive me. In a rage, she nearly forces me to wake up.

*darkness, but I manage to bring the dream back*

It is sunny now, somewhat to my dismay, but despite the sudden scene change I am still lucid. Now I am walking with two companions along a grassy path, somewhere out in the country. The girl is still prevalent in my thoughts... I MUST find her again! Maybe if I hadn't been mooning over some non-existant person, I might have noticed the earth giant before he noticed us.

His huge leafy head slowly rises from the hill where he was sleeping, his mean eyes narrowed right at us. Oh, crap. "Run!" I shout, doing my best not to trip over the unstable ground.

Knowing I can't outrun him, I hide in some dense undergrowth and then sprint into the main forest as soon as the coast is clear.

After I take interest in some strange little paths that stretch through the woods, a narrator begins saying some stuff that I'm not really paying attention to. Once more, I'm having fun just exploring. Then I catch the narrator saying something along the lines of, "But little did she know, she was about to encounter the dreaded Mask People." Wait, what? Mask people? That's when I see them: little hairy creatures dressed in brown robes and creepy masks, each carrying a staff with some kind of animal skull on it. I freeze in my tracks, doing my best not to make any noise, because I have an innate understanding that the Mask People are blind.

I decide to mess with them. I let out a sudden bloodcurding scream, and a few of them are so startled that they fall to their butts on the forest floor. I laugh hysterically at my little prank, until they begin to get aggressive. "Wait, I'm not going to hurt you," I say. "I'm a friend." Somehow appeased, their leader gives me a skull like the ones on their staves. I follow them and eventually meet back up with my companions.

It isn't long before I find that girl again, in some dream city, but she keeps running away from me. As I am searching for her again, I pass by a huge church that has a big electronic sign in which my name is scrolling by in big yellow letters. Maybe she's in there. I open the door and immediately see that this is no ordinary church. A service is taking place in which everyone is wearing some kind of disturbing mask-- not like the mask people, whose masks looked like tikis, but intricate masqurade masks resembling demons and evil creatures. I notice that the preacher, who is not wearing a mask, closely resembles Pan from Pan's Labyrinth.

I'm intrigued, but I ignore all of this when I see the girl in a long procession on the staircase, headed to one of the lower rooms. I leap over the banister and stop her, holding on to her arm. Some of her sanity has left again; she is going off on a crazy rant that I am not really listening to because her eyes are changing color like a kaleidoscope. "Such beautiful eyes..." I think to myself.

*there is a lapse in time, but somewhere along the line the girl has officially started trying to kill me*

I run with my companions up the hill to some beautiful houses. But horror fills us--- we've arrived at HER house. Great.

I confront her again, but suddenly realize that my friends have guns and are going to shoot her. "NOOO!" I yell and pounce on her, knocking us both to the ground. I end up taking all the bullets, which wakes me up.

      11/18/11
      [Alice in Terrorland]
I am with my mom and my brother to begin with, on a search for Alice Liddell, who is in some sort of trouble. We travel down a staircase into the basement of an old church where we come across a very formidable looking door. My mom tries to open it. "It's locked," she tells me.

Suddenly I "remember" that I have had this dream before. (It was a false memory; I've definitely never dreamed anything like this). "This is the Door Master's door. You need his key to open it. It should be in your pocket," I inform her. Just as she finds the key, the Door Master appears behind us. He is basically a giant key with eyes, arms and legs, who is very alarmed when he sees what we are about to do. "HURRY UP AND OPEN IT," I yell as the Door Master sprints toward us. We go through the door and slam it behind us so he can't follow.

Now we are in a long hallway with hundreds of different doors and passageways. I have been in this sort of place before; if we don't get proper directions, we'll be lost in here for ages. Shaking off my feelings of foreboding, I walk confidently onward, somehow aware of the general direction we should be traveling. After a while, I spot a familiar door. "What ever you do," I warn my companions (who are no longer my mom and brother; they are now an old friend of mine and a cat), "do NOT go through that door. I made that mistake last time." (Yet another false memory.)

All of a sudden, the Door Master is sprinting in front of us, going off to alert someone of our presence. "Wait!" I shout and begin to chase after him. "We need you to help us find Alice!!!" I follow him for a while, but then I spot Alice just as she darts through one of the doors. A strange woman stops us as we approach.

"You'll need to memorize this rhyme before you go any further," she tells us. "It will save your life." She then proceeds to recite a very ominous poem, which I have unfortunately forgotten. Something about "A terrible place called Wonderland." My friend memorizes it quickly, so we enter the house of Alice Liddell.

Her parents are standing in the kitchen when we walk in. "She's in her bedroom," Mrs. Liddell informs us, pointing to the far end of the house. As we head that way, I notice Alice's older sister. She is a tall, beautiful young woman with pale skin and reddish-blond hair, wearing an old-fashioned dress. She smiles at me when we pass.

Just when we reach Alice's bedroom, I "remember" that her sister is insane. Whirling around, I manage to throw up my arm right as she stabs a knife at me. The blade sinks painfully into my arm. Suddenly in a sort of berserker mode, I grab the knife and psychotically stab it into her stomach again and again and again until she falls to the floor, dead. Then, I plunge the knife into her back "for good measure," before taking it and following my friends into the bedroom.

Alice, an 8 or 9 year old girl with black hair and sullen looking eyes, is sitting on her bed, waiting for us. "You're not my friends anymore," she says in the creepy, monotonous voice of someone who is possessed. "You're not my friend and you're not my friend and you're not my friend," she points at each of us as she speaks. That creature has taken her soul, I realize, preparing for the worst. "But you know who IS my friend? HE is!!!!" The closet door bursts open------------

Just as my alarm goes off and wakes me up.
