I was so happy to finally achieve TOTM! It's been difficult, and I kept trying to incubate this idea.

The dream begins in the elementary school cafeteria acrossthe street. I知 setting up tables and preparing for some event. I知 notnormally active with the school for stuff like this and I知 actually standingthere trying to figure out how I got roped in to helping. Normally I enjoyhelping out with classroom activities but I know I知 not a PTA member so theactions I知 performing seem wrong.

As I lay down a tray of cupcakes I suddenly realize thereason I feel wrong is because I must be dreaming. Even the cupcakes lookwrong, as though my realization is causing the frosting to turn into blacklicorice, and I hate licorice.

I look up from the table and out the window to see a bunchof kids on their way to the cafeteria. I know I知 supposed to be working but Inow have a choice and I realize I don稚 want the kids to actually make it tothe cafeteria before I do something. As I stare at them the line stops, justlike when the teacher tells the kids to pause for a moment.

Now that I have a moment I知 trying to figure out what Ineed to do. The Task of the Month idea suddenly comes into my mind and Iremember the dream journal. Looking back at the table I see a log-book thatreminds me of the one I once saw at a funeral. As I stare at it the coloreddesign along the top of the pages resolves into the words 泥ream Journal and Iknow what to do. I try and think of something that happened during the day butI can稚 remember what day it is.

Is it Thurdsday? NoSatno, Sunday I think. Time to take outthe trash. Wait, I知 supposed to do something. My thoughts are confusing butlooking at the book again reminds me what needs to happen. I look around butthere is no pen. Usually they attach one to the book with one of thosestring-things but I don稚 see one. I lift the book and even check the spine butI can稚 find a pen. The only thing I have are the odd-looking cupcakes. I grabone and start smearing it across the page. At first it痴 messy but I gaincontrol of my hand enough to actually make my writing legible.

Quickly I write, 的 chatted with Alucinor and ccrinbamatoday on DV. I知 impressed I can recall how to spell Alucinor because the odd lettercombination of the name ccrinbama seems easier to remember for some reason. I知staring at the words (which don稚 look pretty at all) when I suddenly becomescared of what I did and I slam the book shut. A small amount of frosting comesout the side and I wipe it with my finger, which I then smear on my pants inlieu of a napkin. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Turning around at the approach of a voice I shout, 添es Ilike the cupcakes! They don稚 have hair in them! The parent facing me lookssatisfied and confused at the same time but I just presume it痴 because I知 notwearing my name badge that they give you in the office. Though I wasn稚 askedabout it I say, 的値l go get it now.

I walk out of the cafeteria and right on out of thebuilding. I can see a fire truck coming up the street and I worry that maybeone of the kids ate a cupcake with hair and they were now choking. Still I knowthey are in good hands so I walk towards the street where a rally is going on tokeep the bicyclists from being allowed to ride and walk their dogs at the sametime. People seem really upset about it and someone actually picks up a bikeand throws it into the street. I want to help but I知 not sure which side tojoin. The decision becomes moot as the TV news shows up and people scatter inall directions not wanting to be arrested. I run but not towards my housebecause they might look for me there. Instead I run into the library but I musthave got the wrong day because a group of voters are in there and I don稚 havean appointment. I look for a window to climb out and the dream ends as I wakeand need to pee.

2. Lucid Task of the Month - 05122012 - 3rd Dream

by , 05-13-2012 at 03:45 AM
I love falling back to sleep on wekeends. This totally made up for the sad feelings I had during the previous dream.

Falling back into sleep following a previous dream I findmyself back in my room at my mom痴 house. I知 sitting on the floor andlistening to my stereo. In my lap is my stuffed Poof Dog which has been with mesince childhood.
In a flash I suddenly become lucid and remember the Task ofthe Month, though I don稚 think of the words. I simply remember that I知supposed to bring my toy to life. My Poof Dog grows in size and becomes alive, and I stand up because he is too bouncy on me.
I immediately want to test his abilities so I open the doorto my balcony. He follows me through the door and we are now looking over myback yard, about eight feet below. This is a pretty high jump for a person evenwith the soft grass below, and I suspect it might also be high for a dog withshort legs like he has, yet something inside me believes he will be just fine.
笛ump! I commanded him, and I waved my arm in anexaggerated sweeping motion. He squeezed in between the support beams and leaptto the ground below where my friend was looking up at us. My friend seemsunsure about this move, and she says he might get hurt.
滴e痴 fine! See? I say to her as he briefly stumbles andthen walks towards the back door of the house, wagging his tail happily. 的knew he could do it because you can稚 get hurt in the dreamworld. Poof Dog stridesright in the back door and bounds up the stairs to return to me. I pat him onthe back as he licks my other hand.
Then my neighbor slammed his car door outside mybedroom window and I woke up.
3. Lucidity - Wolves, Patrick Stewart, Kevin Spacey, and my underpants.

by , 05-03-2012 at 08:02 PM
Last night was an incredible night for dreaming! Not the best ever, butpretty damn good!

I skipped going back to sleep yesterday morning and went to bed earlier thanusual, and the results were fantastic! I not only had lucidity but thoughts pertaining to the forum plagued my mind all night long.

Falling almost immediately to sleep from SP I went right in to dreaming, something I don't usually get to do on the first sleep cycle, but as I havebeen ill of late I was apparently ready for dreaming.

I saw in front of me a patch of woods, brambles perhaps, surrounded byforest. The foliage was thick, deep, and concealed anything behind it. Lookingat it for a moment I realized that I wanted to see a wolf there (seemedfitting) and on command one appeared.

A white wolf poked its head right out of the middle of the shrub and simplystared at me, eyes aglow with an unnatural color. For most people this might bea frightening image, encountering a hungry-looking wolf in the middle of theforest but I was not scared, and instantly I knew I was dreaming. My desire hadbrought the wolf to appear.

I spoke to the wolf. "You're a dream, aren't you?" The wolf saidnothing, nor did it cock its head, but I could see its tongue ever so slightly.

"Hmmm..." I thought for a second. "Go get your friends!"

The wolf retreated into the bush, barely disturbing the leaves as it went. Iwaited, thought I heard a little noise from behind the brush, and then, likemagic, the wolf returned, as did five of its wolf friends. Six heads were nowstaring at me, all with the same unnatural color and stare in their eyes. Theywere all white wolves but there was enough variation in the coloring, style offur, and shape of their heads to make each one appear distinct.

You're my friends, aren't you?" They didn't reply, but their expression said that it was true what I spoke.

This is cool, I thought, now what do I do with them?

This thought triggered the memory of the Lucid Task of The Month, and Irealized I couldn’t remember what it was. I started to get scared that I wouldlose the dream, and I began chanting over and over, “Task of The Month! Task ofthe Month! Task of the Month!” This helped stabilize the dream and I remainedlucid.

I next turned my attention to remembering what the task was. I rememberedsomething about a toy…and then it hit me with a flash! Bring my toy to life! Itried imagining my stuffed Poof-Dog, which normally looks more like a deaf-mutegopher than a dog, but he’s quite old so he deserves a break.

Conjuring an image of him was harder than I thought, considering how lucid Iwas, and the best I could come up with is my daughter’s stuffed dog which shealso named Poof-Dog. Unlike mine, it has ears and still retains a little fluffto its coat.

I brought it to life and made it life-size, and it looked like this:

It stood next to me on a leash and looked up at me happily. He was clearlyready to be played with.

I think my disappointment in not conjuring my own dog (I knew in the dreamit wasn’t my Poof-Dog) is what caused me to lose lucidity, and if the dreamcontinued on at all I don’t remember it.

2nd dream

I found myself in an old brick building, like the ones built in the 50s and60s, with large glazed tiles on every wall, designed to be easy to clean buttotally soulless. I think the building came from an image of an athletic centeradjacent to a church, pulled from my memories and altered slightly. I was lastin the building during a Scouting event, perhaps three years ago.

In the building I find myself at the bottom of a set of stairs leading downfrom the floor above. A small hall leads off to my right.

In front of me is Kevin Spacey. He is wearing black jeans, a loose-fittingwhite shirt with buttons, and a belt. Gesturing wildly, he tells me how upsethe is with *something* and the only word I can think of to describe him is “maniacal”,and this is more of a thought than anything spoken in the dream.

I woke up with the word “maniacal” filling my head. Not mad, not crazy…maniacal.

3rd dream

I find my thoughts filled with reminders of lucidity, probably due to continuousinfluence of the forum. These thoughts seem to run around my mind all nightlong.

The first thing I can recall is standing on the side of a hillside road in California. The road is curvy, with switchbacks, and both sides of the road are coveredwith thick grasses and the occasional wildflower. The grass is tall, brittle, andyellow in color as often seen in California on the western slopes of hills thatborder the Bay Area.

Standing a few feet in front of me is Patrick Stewart. He is wearing blackpants, sleek, like the ones he often appears in on STTNG. His shirt is white, thin, and cottony. It makes him look human, more like the actor and less likethe Captain of the Enterprise.

In a moment of lucidity I try to get him to say, “What the fuck is thisshit?” like I’ve seen in a few of the memes on the net. He won’t say it, andwhile I can make the words appear in the air around him he refuses to say thewords. I’m not sad but it is disappointing.

4th dream

Fragment – I’m getting ready for my doctor’s appointment, a real-life event, and I know I’m late, but I don’t care because I can just reschedule ifsomething happens and I miss it.

5th dream

(False Awakening)

It is morning, and I have to get myself and my daughter ready for school.(In real life I have already done this. I’m sleeping in the chair in the livingroom while waiting for an alarm to go off, telling me it’s time to go to myappointment for my blood check.)

I walk into the bedroom and start taking off my clothes, first my pants, then my underwear. I briefly wonder why I’m taking off my underwear when Imeant to wear them today. My daughter walks in and I tell her to go put herclothes on, we don’t have a lot of time. I turn around and walk to my dresser.Reaching in to my underwear drawer I select a pair of grey bikini briefs andslip them on.

The dream fades and I’m awake. I’m not thinking of the dream, just of mybladder, and I head to the bathroom. I pull down my shorts and underwear, andsuddenly the dream hits me like a brick, and I honestly don’t know if I’m awakeor not. I do a quick nose-plug RC and find that I’m awake. I finish in thebathroom with a weird feeling of d駛 vu.

Walking in to the bedroom I head towards my dresser, and right on top of myunderwear drawer is the pair of grey bikini briefs I put on in the dream. Thefeeling was mind-blowing.
4. A visit to Hawaii, and annoying Stephen Spielberg

by , 04-18-2012 at 02:48 PM
So, a little background. I was attempting to have a Lucid Dream to meet Tom Selleck, inspired by the Task of The Month thread. I would normally attempt to see Isaac Asimov (I'm a big fan) but as he is dead and I only ever saw a few pictures of him, I decided that Tom Selleck would fit as I spent a lot of time as a child watching Magnum P.I. and I still think he's awesome!

The first thing I remember is being in my home, though it was a little different as there were shelves all over the place, and they were filled with items like suntan lotion, beach balls, flip-flops, and the whole place smelled like coconut oil and rubber. I said to myself, "I must be in Hawaii!" and as I said this I turned around to find myself facing the beach. I was close to the waterline, perhaps ten feet from where the small waves were gently rolling up on the sand. Around me were a number of people, all busy moving umbrellas and lighting equipment and some cases that contained equipment of some kind.

Immediately I thought , "Ooh! I'm going to meet Tom Selleck! I wonder where he is?" I saw a tiki bar to my left and I headed in that direction, knowing it might be a good place to find him. On the way there I realized I was very thirsty, and I couldn't wait to get to the bar. A large equipment case was near me, placed halfway in the water, and there was a Ginger Ale on top. I saw a guy who I thought I recognized nearby and I asked him, "Do you mind if I have some of your drink?" He turned around and I was disappointed to find that it was Stephen Spielberg. He looked bothered that I had asked to have some of his drink but he just said, "Yeah, go ahead."

I didn't hesitate to pop the tab on the can and drank a third of the beverage in no time. I placed it back down and said, "Here. I only drank a third of it." He grumbled but didn't say anything about it. He instead approached me directly and said, "We need you on set right over there." He pointed to a nearby spot in the water where the crew was setting up props, and I realized I was an actress. I looked down and decided that I wanted to be wearing a grass skirt, and by the time I saw my lower half the skirt was there.

Despite Stephen Spielberg's lackluster attitude I was excited, and I asked, "Is Tom Selleck around here? I really want to meet him." The director replied, "He's not here today." and walked off, leaving me standing in the waves. I was sad, and my disappointment ended any chance of lucidity I had.

I walked back to the hotel and went to my room, a large space with big windows and white curtains and sheets. The bed was large and soft, and I sat down on it. The walls were brown, and normally I wouldn't pick that color for walls but it looked nice. TV didn't interest me so I went downstairs to the bar. I was going to order a drink but I realized I needed to use the bathroom and went off to the side of the bar and back into the stockroom, where a toilet was located and surrounded by clutter. I had to pull it out from the clutter to even be able to sit on it.

Apparently tropical drinks weren't agreeing with me that day and I had a fairly soft *poop* that I wanted to get rid of before anyone saw me. I thought I was reaching for the toilet paper but instead I was using paper towels, which were effective in cleaning my butt yet also effective at spreading the mess. I got some on my shirt at one point and I clickly removed that.

When I finally cleaned myself up I went back out to the bar and PhilosopherStoned was tending bar. He had a large scar on his head and was wiping down glasses with a rag. He just gave me a smug look and I walked on past.

I stepped from the bar to an office building, or school (not sure which) that was located in the city of Westlake Hills, on the west side of Austin. The office(?) was managed by a large black woman in a blue uniform, and she was chewing gum.

And then my dream ended.
