    1. klutzy

      by , 06-10-2013 at 05:43 AM
I took the night off (from waking after each dream) but a snippet from the last dream of the night: I was at some sort of camp and there was to be a grand ball that weekend. I was told I had to buy an item for someone at the ball who was special in some way, but did not know what it was and didn't understand the explanation given to me about it. I also didn't have a proper dress for the ball. When it started I stood outside and felt very klutzy that I hadn't got the item and wasn't dressed properly. I don't think I even went in.

I read somewhere here (have read so much I couldn't say where) to record the emotion in the dream, so I am trying to do that.

    2. Overdoing it?

      by , 06-09-2013 at 02:54 PM
Last night I woke up 4 times to record some keywords of dreams. This morning I remembered only the last dream. I have felt very hungover today and I think I might have roused myself from sleep too many times last night. Will go easier tonight. If I have an LD, I expect I will wake up thoroughly from excitement so I'll let some NLDs go by tonight without recording, to catch up on sleep.

    4. Earlier dreams in the night

      by , 06-08-2013 at 01:41 AM
I can't seem to remember earlier dreams I have before the last one of the night. Earlier in the night, I had written down a dream fragment which was again cryptic when I woke up - something about a complaint at a restaurant about the way food had been dished up. I don't remember it though. I must wake up a bit more when I write these fragments in the middle of the night, so I can try and remember them in the morning. I only seem to remember the last dream of a night.

    5. Violence

      by , 06-08-2013 at 01:39 AM
I am such a pacifist and this dream was very violent for me. I was with a group of people and we caused mass destruction, trashing a house and blowing up a large building with a very large bomb. I was surprised that we didn't get hit by shrapnel as we were standing quite close, looking at it. Then we seemed to cause a lake to dry up.

Inside the house we trashed was a beautiful ballroom with one wall all mirrored but the mirror was gone and the wallpaper just loose and peeling once we were done with it. It had just turned into this dead room. It was like that house looked in Fight Club - an absolute mess. I was kinda sad about everything and that I had been a part of it.

    6. Stealing!

      by , 06-07-2013 at 12:30 PM
I dreamt that I stole someone's bra and picked off their name label on it. Then I put it on but it didn't fit and was very uncomfortable. I then decided to just leave it lying around where the owner would find it again and not know I had taken it. lol.
There were several other fragments, but I will just keep them in my paper journal, rather than type them all in here.

    7. Wednesday

I woke up this morning to find the following written in my DJ, which I have no memory of writing:
"L & J (my daughters) are in a contest with some guys who are outclassed. They are taking it hard".

I wonder what that was about. Sounds like it would have been interesting to remember.

    8. Mental Map Recall

      by , 06-04-2013 at 09:48 AM
I read about this in this thread by Zoth and tried it out during last night. I woke a couple of times and jotted down keywords like he suggests in the thread, in a mind-map format. It sounded like a great idea as it was quick to just turn on my little penlight, lift up on one elbow (my DJ is next to me in bed), scrawl the words and fall asleep again. (If I wake up too much I struggle to fall asleep again.)

But when I woke up this morning to try and write it out in my DJ I couldn't decipher what I had written. They were just random words and I couldn't connect them to memories. I think I am going to have to write them out in more detail in future. I would really like to use this method.

So these were the fragments I could glean from the keywords:
      - I had an argument with my ex (we've been divorced for 13 years, for heaven's sake!)
      - I was in a prop plane we drove around some towns and then flew over them.
      - I was having a party at my house and stood in front of a mirror on the wardrobe. Didn't look in the mirror
      - I was at a concert, naked, and I flew across the front row of people, trying to be inconspicuous (yeah, right, a naked flying woman is really inconspicuous!)

That is all I could extract from the keywords I wrote down. They were all involved dreams with a storyline but I couldn't remember any of them.

      Darn recall better get better.

Didn't remember anything from last night. I wrote in my intro to the forum that I couldn't attempt anything that would interrupt a night's sleep, but I have decided to hell with that, I just want a lucid dream! I write an exam on Wednesday and after that I am on holiday (and so I can nap and catch up any missed sleep) so I am going to attempt WBTB. I am all motivated after reading others' workbooks!

    10. Frustrating

      by , 06-02-2013 at 09:28 AM
It sure is frustrating when you wake up and know you had a very involved dream with lots of action but then it slips away and you can only recall a fragment. I try desperately to hold onto the memory when I wake but it still slips away.

Last night I dreamt that I was helping our lecturer grade papers from a test we had written (that I had written myself). That was odd. Had a had a bit more awareness maybe I would have realised that was odd.

    11. Beginning

      by , 06-01-2013 at 07:28 AM
I have only just begun and have not had any lucid dreams yet. After about 4 nights of remembering a dream a night (and being aware that there were others I couldn't remember) I couldn't remember anything from last night. And I know I dreamt, several times. I am so disappointed. Will it just take more practice?

I had taken a sleeping pill, which I do occasionally if I have had a few nights of too little sleep. If anyone reads this, have you found that sleeping pills influence your dreaming or your recall? If they will get in the way, then I won't take them.
