    1. Every restaurant in New York

      by , 05-04-2013 at 02:36 PM
In my dream yesterday night my wife an I won a contest to visit every restaurant in New York city. There were reservations all set up for us, but when we got to the first restaurant, they informed us that instead of everything being paid for no matter what we got, they would give us cash that we could use to buy dinner, so that we couldn't spend over a certain amount. I thought that sounded reasonable, so I said fine, and they guy hands me $500. I exclaimed to him that that was great! We would have $500 for each restaurant, which would leave some leftover for the really expensive restaurants, etc. That's when he told me the $500 was it for all the restaurants. So we won a chance to eat at every restaurant in NYC, but had to split $500 to make it happen...

    2. So this is awkward...(another sex dream)

      by , 05-02-2013 at 02:19 PM
Strangely my last two dreams that I've remembered have been sex dreams. This one was a very basic sex dream, my wife and I in a hotel room. I won't get into details. However, at the end of all of the sex we walked out to the courtyard of the hotel totally naked, where all of the staff and such were milling about, seemingly totally unaware that there were two naked people walking about. Strange but fun dream! The recall was actually better this time than some of my previous dreams but the entry is shorter for reasons I've stated above

    3. Longer dream, better recall today "The Feast"

      by , 05-01-2013 at 01:06 PM
In this dream I was 16, and we were all at a friend's house, though I don't know any of the DCs in real life, it was just a set of people. The strange thing was, I was still in a couple with my wife, who I hadn't even met at 16. So we are at one of these DC's parents' houses, and we are all in this living room wide open space. Her parents are around and we are essentially waiting for them to leave / go to bed so that we can all have sex. The plan wasn't to have sex all together, but more to couple off and kind of watch each other have sex. Unfortunately for my dream self, the sex never happened. So I set down my towel, and while we're sitting there waiting I find this old phone. The phone is one that I had in college studying abroad in Italy, so you can already tell that all of the dates are messed up. On the phone I was looking at all of the numbers of minutes I used while I was abroad, and calculating the number of charges I paid.

After a bit of time of this, and showing it to one of the DCs, who wanted to scroll through all of the foreign area codes and such, I went to the bathroom, which was connected to the DC's parent's bedroom. DC's father was in the bedroom, and for some reason there was no door between their room and the bathroom, so I had to hide behind the wall as I went to the bathroom. After going to the bathroom, I walked out, and the father came over to me and started chatting about this and that. I basically wanted to high tail it out of there, so that he would leave us alone for this sexual encounter that the DCs had dubbed "The Feast" So I got back to the room, and a new couple had joined the group. It was a guy that I did know from real life (he was a loner in college) who was a wolf furry and had brought some furry DC with him to join our sexcapades. At this point we were all talking about "The Feast" and moving our towels around to give each other a good view. However, that's when I woke up!

    4. Living in a shack and League of Legends

      by , 04-30-2013 at 01:04 PM
I had two dream fragments yesterday. The first was just of me playing the game League of Legends, which I've played some recently with old college friends. I don't remember much about it, though.

The second fragment was more involved. I was living in a shack that was elevated onto stilts, and was very small. As you walked in the door, there was a small set of stairs leading up to the right to a platform where I could sit on a couch. When I first entered the shack, there was a female ninja with two kids. She wanted her kids to fight me, in order to practice their ninja skills apparently. After fighting the kids, she came at me, but quickly we stopped fighting and the dream skipped ahead to my mother being in the same shack, handing me what looked like a rusted out slow cooker. She was very excited, because she had removed a piece of the slow cooker that sensed whether the ceramic pot part of it was in there before turning on. That way, you could just head the metal shell of it.

Unfortunately, both of these were short snippets, and neither was lucid. I'm glad to be back in the DJing mode, though, and hopefully my recall begins to improve.

    5. Floating seafood processing plant

      by , 08-02-2010 at 07:27 PM
Last night I had a non-lucid dream about a seafood processing plant floating in the middle of the ocean. The only entrance was a small ramp that you would run your boat up onto to unload the seafood. We pulled up to the processing plant in a small, canoe-like boat, with Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs as our leader. As we pulled up, a great white shark flopped up next to our boat on the ramp, trying to get some of the seafood, but quickly fell back into the ocean. Inside of the plant was a labyrinth of tubes and pipes, which fed various seafood products to different parts of the plant. There were no lights inside, and most of the workers seemed to have not seen the light of day in a long time.

In speaking further to the workers, they all seemed, frankly, like a bunch of hicks. They detested the outside world, and essentially their entire lives were centered around processing seafood. I walked among the rows of pipes and once in a while would grab a clam or muscle and eat it. I can't remember if I was eating these raw, or if they had somehow been cooked in the process. This was the end of that part of the dream, though the next fragment I remember was interacting with a boy from the plant, but was set in a supermarket.

Fragment: A boy from the processing plant was hiding in the lettuce pile in a supermarket vegetable isle. In order to entice him to come out, his older brother arranged macaroni noodles on sandwich bread and then put some Parmigiano Reggiano cheese on top of the noodles. The strange thing was that the noodles were cold, so I wouldn't exactly call it mac and cheese. At this point I woke up.

    6. Football and Movies

      by , 08-01-2010 at 04:19 PM
This dream started out at a football practice. The practice was a sort of scouting practice, where we would run plays and then the scout would decide which school we were qualified to go to. Some of the better players had already accepted offers from top schools, so they were just watching from the sidelines. The strange thing was that even in the dream I was not a football player. Instead I just happened to be there and was thrown into a few plays. The second play I got into I got the ball for a run, and the blocking ahead of me was incredible. I ended up doing a few cutbacks across the field and scoring a touchdown. The scout mentioned it was a good play, but considering I hadn't played all year I wasn't offered a position at any school. At this point everyone filtered down to the dining hall at the school my dream was taking place in. For some reason I stayed behind to arm wrestle a fellow team mate. I won two rounds of arm wrestling and then we headed down to dinner. I remember taking a seat at a large, round table, which had seats for about 12 or 13 people around it. Many of the seats were taken, but a few were untouched. I sat down at one of these seats, only to have someone say there was already a person there.

I asked how that was possible if no one was there and the settings hadn't even been touched. They didn't answer, since the person returned and chose a new seat, telling me it was no problem that I took his. I don't remember the part of the dream where we ate dinner if there was such a part. The next thing I remember about the dream is sitting at the top of a long staircase going down to a large lake. In the lake were enormous floating dormitories. The dormitories below me were the girls only dormitories, and I was sitting there talking to my girlfriend about how I would get into one. We took the steps down, and got to the lake. There were floating heads forming a pathway from the steps to the dormitory door. This was just like in the new Alice in Wonderland movie that just came out, where alice had to jump from head to head. I did this, but as I reached the door I woke up.

    7. Running a marathon

      by , 07-31-2010 at 10:26 PM
My first lucid in forever! This dream made reaffirmed to me the theory that just having LDing on your mind can lead to LDing. It was surprising though that my first day back on DV was also my first lucid in a long long time. On that note, I am going to put this as my first LD in my profile, because I forget how many I've had before this one, but maybe if I can find my archived DJ from before this new format I will edit this personal one to include my older dreams...

      Anyway, on to the LD!

      This was a DILD:

The dream started at the starting line of a marathon. I was there with my girlfriend and a few of her old suitemates from college. The gun went off and I started running up a muddy hill, which was the first part of the race. Overall the setting of the race reminded me of western Marin County in Northern California. There was a sort of ridgeline that marked the halfway point of the marathon, and the runners had to run up hill from the inland side of the ridgeline then over the top and down towards the coast. I noticed almost immediately a dream sign that is fairly common for me. As I try to run faster I start to slow down. In other words it is a very frustrating sensation of running through jelly when I want to sprint.

This sensation was so strong that I would watch people who were walking casually pass me as I tried my hardest to run quickly. I ran like this for about a minute before starting to think something was strange. I suddenly thought "Oh hey! I might be injured." As I looked down at my legs, I realized that I was extending my legs out very far in front of me in this sort of elongated walk. I realized that my legs were stretching farther than they were long and at this point I became lucid! I quickly did an RC of pushing my finger through my hand and that was it! I knew I was dreaming.

However, I was a bit disappointed at this point, because I only had a very low level of control of the dream. My lucidity was clearly not that strong, because I didn't really think about doing anything except continuing to run the marathon. I began to run again, and faced the problem again of my legs not obeying what I wanted them to do. Now though, I was able to exert a small amount of control on my dream. I thought to myself that if I were dreaming, I could just expect to run faster and I would. My legs immediately sped up, but unfortunately it only lasted for a couple of seconds, before the jelly legs took back over. To explain this phenomenon a bit more clearly, I have had many dreams where I am driving, and as I come up on a car in front of my I hit the breaks. However, the car doesn't really respond to the breaks and I can tell I'm about to hit the car in front of me. This problem with running was extremely similar.

At this point I had a false awakening. I felt myself loosing the dream and "woke up" on my bed with my cat laying next to me. However, I then must have woken up again, because the next moment I was awake for real, and realized that my cat was locked out of the bedroom for the night, so she could never have been laying next to me. It is unfortunate that I couldn't parlay this FA into a new LD, but I am encouraged by the night overall, given how long it has been.
