    Armenians, mini-DILD after monster

    Date: 1 May 2013

    Pre bed: 400mg valerian

Total sleep time: 6.30 hrs, pre travel

Recall: Had vivid dreams today, but my recall is very weak. A strange combination perhaps due to the valerian. Had to rush out of bed so that may have contributed too.

Overall impressions: It feels like I had a great night, whatever I was dreaming left me with positive feelings.

Dream1: I went somewhere before that and now am on my way back. Following me are the brothers of someone who looks like my boyfriend. He is Armenian and obviously so are his brothers. Overall positive feelings towards these guys. I think about them and how their family is looking for someone like me, to get married to their son. I also think about how I have figured out they are Armenian and find myself in an Armenian church.

I am back from wherever I came and me and another DC not sure if he was Armenian, are on the street. I am looking at the sunset and commenting it. The sun looks a bit strange but since a few days ago I was looking at a very strange sun phenomenon, caused by the setting sun and some rain clouds, I thought I am seeing something similar.

Fragment 2 mini-DILD: I am on the street and suddenly a strange creature, like a game-like monster with a skirt, similar to a Cyclops maybe, appears out of nowhere. I immediately become lucid and tell myself not to be afraid and that this is a dream. He vanishes as fast as he appeared, I find this a bit strange. Memory gap. (I did not know about TOTM May at the time, this is game-related residual I guess).

I suppose that after he was gone, I lost my focus and lucidity and engaged back in the dream. I have no other recall.

All right, congratulations on the lucid! I'm glad to hear that family time didn't throw you off of your game too badly. Hope all of that went well and that you managed to occasionally sneak into the bathroom with your iPad for some dream journaling on the DL.

While it may have seemed kind of anti-climactic to have the cyclops just disappear as soon as you stopped believing that he was a real threat, it's kinda nice to have this level of control. That's got to make you feel pretty confident for any nightmare scenarios that might pop up during an LD. BTW, any idea what video game this guy might have come from?

Ah, it feels so good to be back, the internet connection was really bad in the hotel. Had a few nights of moderate sleep deprivation, but managed to memorize key points and later wrote down the dreams/fragments. Will be posting them tomorrow.

Liked the dream I had on the 4th, which included a non-lucid where a DC friend was the most friendly being on earth and helped me solve some issues. No dreams today - only slept 3 hrs because of travel. I am looking forward to some REM rebound and getting back on lucid track.

It seems like a lot has happened while I was away, I saw you had an amazing weredog dream! Will read it in more detail tomorrow so that I can enjoy it on a non-sleep deprived brain.

I wonder if telling a mythological creature that he isn't real would count for TOTM, probably should ask OB, just in case another one comes by and I get lucid. I used to play Might and Magic a lot in the old days. My subcon still comes up with some characters from there. Are you trying to have a GILD ( G for game)? That would be really cool actually! I am afraid I have deinstalled all mythological games from the PC, so will have to find other ways to brainwash myself.

Very good, sounds like you actually had some great dreams in spite of all the obstacles! When your sleep situations's going to be a little challenging, it's easy to throw your hands up and decide to just wait until things are all 100% the way you like before putting the effort into dreaming. Kudos to you for still making it work.

Ah cool, looking forward to it! I think this may have been my best LD so far. Just thinking about it is instant remotivation for me! Maybe they can't all be like that, but just knowing that some of them can be is hugely motivating.

Oh I'm sure that'd count for basic at least! Look at you already setting up for the TotM four-in-one. Don't think I don't know what you're up to! I actually tend to have a good deal more video game content in my NLDs now that I make more time to play games. Makes for fun dreams! I've had some micro-lucids when "playing" some of my favorite games in a dream but they haven't held together (yet). One day!

Thanks, I was really considering putting the journal aside for a few days, but managed to memorize key fragments and recorded them later. It was kind of fun! My energy levels were and are still a bit low, and I feel that affects my awareness. I really have to take some time to recharge myself today and get back to my RC routine.

I think we all know what I'm up to. I need to get a decent stable LD tough, because if I only get shorties I might end up trying to perform the most challenging task of laying eggs all month long and that will certainly be a pain in the ass.

Great weredog lucid! I also find reading past lucids very motivational and especially good ones gets you into that so much need lucid mood. Looking forward to the next one!

Well that's cool... getting better at filing dreams away in memory isn't a bad skill to develop at all. I wind up exercising it unintentionally any time I wind up oversleeping or otherwise have a chaotic morning. (In our house, that's most mornings, I guess!) Good luck with the recharge. Hopefully you're getting some decent shuteye after having so much company.

Ha ha, you're setting it all up like a pool shot. Picnic with cyclops where you lay an egg, set yourself on fire, and then tell him he's not real. Four-in-one, just like that! Or oooh, do you go for the bonus task and also remove and reattach a body part?

Thanks! I totally agree on rereading the past ones. Sometimes nothing helps as much as just getting pumped up, remembering what you're capable of, and how awesome that next LD is going to be. Yet another way the DJ pays off IMO.
