    1. Ghosts on the Lift

by , 03-03-2013 at 05:33 PM (Strange Dreams Indeed, Petticoat)
First thought in the dream, "great I'm dreaming again." I don't know what is causing this but it feels like I don't get enough sleep because my brain has been so active with dreams lately. I'm having back to back odd dreams.

This one began with me getting some cuddle time from my man, but I knew it was a dream because we were outside laying in the snow and it was switching between daylight and moonlight too fast and details about the location were wrong. We were interrupted by our friend who wanted us to go check out his new site seeing lift. He was having problems with it. We get on with the tour guide, who sits behind a wheel in it and proceeds to drive us up, which didn't make sense because that is not how these things work. It was like a sight seeing ski lift that looked like an old VW van. Anyway we get to the top and Boogs (my dude) goes to check out the warehouse there. I know it sounds weird. Why would a tourist lift have a warehouse at the top? It's a dream and our friend is a little odd like that. So the warehouse is supposedly haunted. The driver won't get off the bus, so I'm stuck watching over her. Then I hear clashing metal, like pipes falling. And dumb horror movie move of course, I go check it out. Weaponless. Meanwhile, I'm thinking the problem is ghosts, but what if that's not what is up here. I find Boogs and we're suddenly surrounded by these shadows. The closest thing I can compare them to are the shadow people that paranormal experts talk about. Or more closely, they look like the ghosts in Season 2 of Dr. Who the episode "Army of Ghosts".
We went back to our friend and told him, yeah it's haunted and then I woke up. So boring, yet true.
Dr. Who is still plaguing my dreams. But now thanks to watching an old Bond movie last night and an exhausting walk, I have other strange things fighting it out in my head.

    2. Brother of Mine

by , 03-02-2013 at 02:20 PM (Strange Dreams Indeed, Petticoat)
The setting was old historical, renaissance I think. There were many people in the room, but I couldn't see all of them for whatever reason. I just knew there were people behind me, but I couldn't see them.

My family in the dream was seated at one end of this huge table. My brother and I sat next to each other on one side and our mother and father on the other. We were at the castle because our parents had begged a word with the prince. The prince sat in a throne against the wall closest the head of our table, where we were. His people stood on both sides of him and near the exits of the room. I got the sense that the people behind me were his too.

Father began speaking to him of a child that was his in our family, my brother to be exact. He said he would no longer raise the child as his own because it wasn't. The prince should take him.

The prince declined saying what good is the son of a common woman. Did my mother think she was the only common woman to bear him children? There were many children in this kingdom from the prince's loins, but he would not lay claim to any. All women should thank him for blessing them with his seed.

Mom shrieked at him. Begged him to take my brother and give him work or teach him something. The prince wasn't having it. He ordered for us to be killed.

We ran, all of us. My parents pushed away my brother saying no, he's not coming, let him to die. That's the way they said it, let him to die. I grabbed hold of my brother's hand and looked him in the eye. I said, "You're still my brother. You will always be my brother. I don't care whose son you are."

Together we ran, nearly tripping over things our parents had thrown down behind them.
    3. Tiger, Tiger

I was in the old grocery store from my hometown with my brother, whom I had not seen since I was 18. He's been away for a long time, but he was there in the dream with me. We were buying a few things to go home and make a meal. I could see the isles very clearly and the items on the shelves. I can remember the cute little blonde working the register as we got ready to leave. I went ahead to the car. While I was in the parking lot, a starving white tiger snarled and came out from behind one of the parked vehicles, a white van.

I knew the tiger was hungry and looking for its next meal and found me. I backed away, putting a few of the vehicles between it and I, to where it couldn't see me. I wasn't stupid, I knew it could hear and smell me, but I knew it was important that it not see me getting away as I edged nearer the building.

The tiger rounded the corner and growled. As it began to circle me, I turned with it, keeping my back away. I made a lot of noise and acted bigger than it was, thinking maybe it would work like with bears. I knew it was too hungry to care, but I had to try something to keep what was sure to come from happening. But no, the tiger stood on its hind legs and swatted at me and I kicked it. So help me, I was fighting a friggin' tiger. Nobody was trying to help me, everyone was tucked away safe, except me. I remember thinking that very clearly. Followed by some not so nice thoughts about all those people, who were standing there recording it on their phones. I don't even think anyone called for help.

Anyway, there I was fighting this tiger. Yes, FIGHTING! A tiger! I remember thinking of all the stupid things I've done in a dream, this is the most exciting. It gave me strength. It kept me going. The tiger clawed up my leg pretty bad and decided to pounce. As it was airborne, I dropped to my back and pulled both my legs up ready to kick it. Time slowed. And I nailed it. Knocked the wind right out of the poor thing and me too. Even emaciated, it was huge, but I remember thinking the paws were too small.

I was able to think logically within the dream, but certain aspects of the dream were totally unrealistic, like being in the same old grocery store that had closed down, a white tiger in small town Tx, and me winning a fight with a hungry tiger.
    4. Bees in the tunnel

I was waiting outside a bank and I knew there were people inside for whom I was waiting. One of them came out to wait with me. Dream me recognized him as a friend, but I had never seen him before. A short walk away was a multilevel mall and I decided to go there. He followed me, ranting about how the others would be out soon and we shouldn't. I told him I had to, there was something strange. It's hard to explain how the levels were, but the top floor was on level with the bank outside and the bottom floor was on level with the street. When we came in from outside there was a clothing store with lots of futuristic clothing in reds, blues, silver, and black. I got a very distinct impression that greens were rare and expensive. Fire alarms started wailing. He and I exchanged a look, he knew I had already made up my mind. We went forward making people go to the back exit, where we had just come from. Store by store on the second level, we cleared each for signs of life. Smoke began drifting up the stair case. It was dirty grey in color with a greenish yellow tint. We went down the stairs calmly. The smoke didn't seem to bother us much at first. We split up to clear the stores on the bottom level. We kept getting the people to go toward the back exit because we couldn't identify where the fire was, but the smoke seemed to be coming from the front exit. The last stores to check were in the front and we found a few people, a woman passed out and a child hiding in a clothing rack. It didn't make sense that they didn't get out, so close to the exit. He carried her and the child held my hand as we walked out the front, never finding that fire. The smoke had been so thick in the front that we were all coughing as we came out the doors. Our friends were already down here waiting by the truck. They had gone around.
As we were driving around in this old pickup, the five of us, I began noticing that there wasn't any grass, not even the little strips you usually see in the cities. There was still a KFC's however. Annoyed, I rolled my eyes as we headed into the tunnel. A tunnel that was in the middle of a housing district, nice houses at that. It was dark and traffic seemed to be backing up as we got to it. The artificial rains had began on the other side. Artificial because there were no trees, no plant life.
Jake, the driver, had left his window down. There was no clean smell like you get after a real rain, just the smell of car fumes. He said he'd roll up the window once we were really in the tunnel. Bees were in the tunnel with us. They didn't like the water. They flew in through the open window and began to sting us. One of the women with us died before we could scramble out of the truck. We managed to get out of the tunnel, but we couldn't go back in for people because there were too many cars piled up in the middle and toward the other end. All we could do was run. There were swarms chasing us, huge, unrealistic swarms. We headed into one of those nice houses, kick door style. The lights were on, but nobody was home. The bees followed us. There were only three of us left. We ran all over this house, which felt like more of a maze than a house. Jake was swatting at them with a shower curtain and I told him, "That's it. Turn on the water. They don't like the water!" So he did and he started spraying them. I ran to the kitchen and turned that sprayer on and we just kept spraying the bees as they came near us. Soon all the bees that had chased us were down and we congratulated ourselves. Just me, my male companion from earlier, who I understood was my partner, and Jake, who looked an awful lot like Ernie Hudson.
