    1. Fake Snow Pathway and Dream Characters

      Notes:
      This was an immensely vivid WILD that happened near the end of REM. I tried to DEILD back into another dream upon waking, but it failed. I imagine this was because the REM period was over, and because I was too rested to fall back asleep afterwards. I spent the dream observing dream behaviour, rather than doing more intense activities.
      The dream began with a false awakening. I had not experienced full-blown hypnagogic scenes during the WILD transition, and I had not wanted to manipulate the subtler visuals into an initial dream scene; this may have been the reason behind the FA. I was in the same bedroom I had fallen asleep in. The room was dark, but there was some subtle blue ambient light. I knew that my eyes were initially closed in the dream, but I could see through them somehow, as if I had no eyelids at all. My blankets were pulled up around my neck and in front of my face, which filled most of my vision. I could barely see the room past them. Then I opened my eyes, and nothing about the scenery changed.

      I knew I was dreaming because of the eyelids phenomenon. However, I decided to confirm a second time by holding my hand out and expecting a random character to take it, to help me sit upright.

      "Hey, can you help me up?" I asked, expecting Chris Pine to be there.

      "Sure," someone said, and I felt them take my hand. The voice sounded fairly accurate to Chris Pine, but not perfect. I sat upright in bed and stood up, and the motions felt light, as if gravity was less powerful and I did not need to exert as much effort to get up. I saw Chris Pine in the darkness of the room, standing in front of me. Even without prior visualization, I was pleased to see how close he looked to the actor's likeness. However, his brown hair was longer and more unruly, like he had let it grow out and hadn't gotten a haircut in some time. It reminded me of Bruno from Encanto. He also looked a bit sad or worried. I did not dwell on this. I chalked it up to the random nature of dreams, where they sometimes filled in details I had not consciously accounted for.

      I left my bedroom and headed towards the hallway that connected my bedroom to the bathroom. It seemed wider than in real life, but just like real life, both walls of the hallway had sliding doors with full mirrors on them. I had not expected to see anyone in the hallway, but I saw my mother standing off to the right. I cannot remember what she was wearing, but she looked convincingly like my mother and I didn't notice anything "off" about her.

      I approached her. Wanting to see her reaction, I said, "isn't it amazing how we're in a dream right now?!"

      "Yes, honey!" she replied, enthusiastic.

      "Yeah, it's great. Well, I'll see you later! We can play Uno, or something," I finished, knowing full well that I would not see her again. I walked past the bathroom, paying little heed to the contents, and into the living room of my apartment. It was dark like the bedroom and bathroom. The size and shape of the living room, and the overall furniture setup, was similar to real life, but I didn't pay attention to the minor details. I headed straight for the opposite corner of the room, where in real life, there was an access door to a balcony. There was no door in the dream, though, just an empty doorway that led directly outside.

      Outside, it was daytime. While the apartment should have been illuminated by the light spilling in from the doorway, this wasn't the case. There was a very stark divide between indoor and outdoor lighting.

      Outside on the balcony, things were unusual. The balcony had no railings. The balcony was also much longer than in real life, reaching about 40 feet long compared to 15 or so. The floor of the balcony was incredibly smooth, and looked almost like gray linoleum rather than painted/sealed concrete. I looked out from the balcony. I saw the wall of a very tall building with very plain, glass windows. It looked like it came from a low-res video game, and the building was fairly close. Then I looked down and I saw a long, straight pathway running across the bottom of the building, below my balcony. It continued past where my balcony ended, then curved around the side of the building, to a place I couldn't see from my vantage point.

      Oddly, the pathway was not concrete or asphalt. It was made of fake snow that had been compacted or glued down. There were small hills in the pathway too, and large, snowman-sized snowballs scattered here and there, all of which were made from the same fake snow.

      My focus returned to the balcony, then I turned around and looked at the exterior wall of my apartment. The windows were well-defined and realistic, and I could even see the blackout curtains that I had installed in real life. Fascinated by the definition of everything, I looked down at my right hand. My hand seemed incredibly sharp and defined too. I counted my fingers on both hands, and saw five on each. This was unusual, as I typically saw different numbers of fingers, or small fingers branching off from the main ones. I looked up, away from my hands for a moment, then I looked back down at my right hand, imagining there would be small fingers this time. I saw one small, finger-like appendage sticking out of the middle of my palm. I touched it with my other hand, and I could feel it, like it was actually connected to my hand.

      Then I became grossed out, so I looked away.

      I turned around and noticed that the snow pathway was still present, so I stepped off the balcony and floated down onto it. The fake snow should have made noise under my feet when I landed, like crunching, but there was no sound, even when I pivoted. It was like the ground was smooth wherever my feet were. The rest of the path was still covered in fake snow. I continued walking down the path, turned the corner, and ended up at a large mall entrance. The building was massive and seemingly square-shaped. The walls were made of smaller semi-transparent, triangular glass panels, which I couldn't properly see through, but there was a large set of glass double doors that were completely transparent. I walked towards the entrance and the doors opened for me, which I found interesting.

      Inside the mall, it appeared to be a single massive room. The building should have let in a ton of outdoor sunlight, because it was made of glass, but it seemed like the glass walls were completely blocking all outdoor light once I got inside, so the lighting became warmer, as if the space was mostly lit by incandescent lights instead of natural sunlight. I saw lots of glass pathways and tracks winding all throughout the room. The path design and overall complexity reminded me of the ramps during the lightcycle battle from the movie TRON: Legacy. I saw some above-ground concrete pools that were very shallow, perhaps two or three feet. There was water in them, and in the water, I saw some random dream characters lounging in swimming attire.

      I decided to summon someone to see what my dream would choose, and said, "okay dream, pick a random person and have them appear behind me".

      Then I turned around and saw two people. One person looked like Ororo Munroe from X-Men, portrayed by Halle Berry, and one person was my third grade teacher from school. Ororo was wearing jeans and a black sweetheart top with a black cardigan, which seemed practical. My teacher was wearing a very bizarre outfit. Her top was a 2000s Lululemon hoodie, except it was cropped. and made of a very coarse pink velour fabric. She was also wearing shorts made from the same pink velour fabric. It looked funny.

      The dream ended.

    2. Fragments - Navigating a "Mall School", Free Rat Cage

      Notes:
      I had poor recall last night. I can only remember two dreams, and limited details for both of them. This is unfortunate because I know they were much longer, especially the first dream. There are so few details that I'm combining the two dreams into a single entry.
      Fragment 1: Navigating a "Mall School"

      This dream took place in my old high school. The school had an interesting layout consisting of a massive long atrium, with classrooms lining either side of that atrium. Above this main floor was a second and third floor, and each had the same layout as the main floor, with classrooms lining the walls on either side. However, there was no floor in the middle of the atrium for either of these higher floors, which created a big open space in the middle of the school for people to congregate. If you were in the middle of the atrium on the main floor and you looked up, you could see the glass ceiling and sky. From this vantage point, you could also see the edges of the other two floors, and all the railings above them, which prevented students from falling down to the main floor. You could also see a few staircases, also with railings, that connected all three floors.

      I was walking up a staircase, heading from the main floor to the second floor. There were no railings on the staircase. I felt a bit confused and concerned, because I knew people could easily fall, and I tried to stay closer to the wall so I didn't fall myself. (I often dream about this school in my dreams, and it's very common for the railings to be missing.) There were many nondescript people walking up and down the stairs, passing me.

      I remember how, while the location was obviously modelled after my high school from real life, the vibes were different. Everything felt unfamiliar to me, and it didn't even completely feel like a school. Instead, it felt like a cross between a school and a mall/transit hub. There were a lot of small business signs, even some neon signs. There were some potted plants, too. The lighting ranged from normal indoor lighting, to dimmed lighting where things were only lit by a handful of small pot lights.

      Once I reached the second floor, I got lost. I vaguely remember wandering around for some time, going down hallways and entering rooms, and my travels seemed to extend well beyond the logical size of the building itself, like there was some kind of Tardis "it's bigger on the inside" phenomenon happening. Eventually I arrived at a futuristic bus stop, still within the school, and took some kind of bus. The lighting in the building had become very dark. I can't remember anything past that.

      Fragment 2: Free Rat Cage

      I was in a small room that could have been a den. Inside this room, there was a plush, taupe-coloured sofa (L-shape), and behind it, there were a few different stacks of cardboard moving boxes. In the dream, I knew I was extremely busy and I had tons of work to do. I knew the work involved my mother and these boxes somehow. Even though they were cardboard moving boxes, however, there was no implicit understanding that I was indeed moving. I knew I needed to start removing the boxes from the room, so I started dragging out each of the stacks from behind the sofa. It didn't take much effort to drag them, because the boxes were weightless, and even though I made bigger movements while pulling them, the stacks didn't feel precarious or wobbly. It was like gravity wasn't affecting them, or like each stack was a single solid object.

      Once I pulled out enough of the boxes, I discovered a cage for small animals that had been hidden there. It looked like a Critter Nation cage, with metal bars that were painted black. At the bottom, it had a blue tub that was around six inches deep, presumably for bedding. But the cage wasn't as wide as a real Critter Nation cage. Instead, it was tall and narrow. It must have been 2x2x5 feet tall.

      Somehow, I knew this cage was free to take if I wanted it. I looked at it thoughtfully, and I asked myself if it was big enough to accommodate two rats. In the dream, I had apparently been contemplating getting rats for some time, and even though I was still undecided, I almost wanted to take the cage home. My rationale was if I took it home and I did choose to get rats, I wouldn't need to spend money on a new cage. However, I ultimately decided against taking it, because I couldn't confirm if it was suitable, and I didn't have time to stand there and deliberate. I reassured myself by thinking something like, 'no big deal, I'll find another free cage down the road'.

      Notes:
      This dream had multiple segments. I was also a spectator in this dream rather than a participant. My view was similar to that of a cinematic camera with drifting angles and unnatural vantage points. Sometimes I would be looking over characters in a close-up, with the view moving slightly, and sometimes I would be panning across a scene with characters in it, like it was a wide angle shot.
      Segment 1


      In this first scene, I was underwater. I knew I was in the ocean of Pandora, but the scene felt somewhat enclosed, rather than open which is how an ocean should have felt. The water colour didn't look pristine; instead, it looked slightly muddy. It gave the impression of river water. In this water, there was a towering sea anenome, which must have been dozens of meters high. Encircling the column of the sea anemone were rows of additional sea anemone tentacles that protruded outward. Somehow, they were structurally sound enough to be used as shelves. I remember these "shelves" were covered with items, but I can't remember what they were.

      On one of the shelves, there was a lone human body that was lying prone, with its feet against the main column. It appeared to be the human form of Tsireya, a Metkayina clan member, and it was either dead or inactive somehow. Suspended in the water in front of the body, I saw Tsireya in her Na'Vi form. She was very focused on her human body, and she was positioned so her face was fairly close to the head of the other body. She made gentle sweeping motions with her hands from the body's head to her face. As she did, oxygen bubbles formed and grew over the body's head until they collected into a single large bubble, which encapsulated the body's head. She continued to make sweeping motions, and the bubble pulled away from the head and moved toward her own face. Her lips touched it and she appeared to slowly breathe it in, like it was providing oxygen for her. As she inhaled, it became smaller and smaller until it was gone. She seemed to be pulling the oxygen from the inactive body so she could gain its memories and know what happened to it. It felt illicit, like she knew she wasn't supposed to be doing this, but she needed to do it for some personal reason.

      Segment 2

      The dream skipped to a new scene. I was spectating a simple scene of Jake Sulley in his Avatar body, but he was not grown. Instead, he was only a couple months old. He was standing quietly and looking either at the "camera", or just past it. He was also very large compared to a normal Na'Vi baby, as if the camera had somehow zoomed in on him but not his surroundings. The scene itself was well-lit with daytime lighting. The ground was flat and consisted mainly of dirt and tan-coloured rock, with some low-resolution tufts of grass like from a video game, so he must have been in a forest of sorts.

      Segment 3


      In this final scene, I was in a small room. The lighting was similar to the scenes in Hell's Gate base from Avatar (2009), which had a misty blue/gray colouration and moody fluorescent lighting, so I imagine this is where we were. There were many unidentified objects cluttering the room, some of them large and providing shadow. The dream "camera" was focused on a nondescript countertop in the room, which had a large white plastic container of some kind on it. The container looked like it was big enough to hold a body, and because of how the lighting scattered within it, there was clearly something in it. Next to the countertop, I saw Colonel Quaritch standing there, leaning against the countertop with one elbow on it. There was someone else in the room talking to Quaritch, but I can't remember who it was, or if the "camera" even showed them. All I remember is that some point, Quaritch made a face and said, "sure, if you insist". There was a sense that it was connected to the first segment with Tsireya, but there was nothing to confirm if Quaritch was antagonistic versus supportive of what she did, or if he was even talking to her in this particular scene.

    4. Something Moved the CPAP Machine

      Notes:
      This was another false awakening, and unlike the previous entry, this was an actual nightmare. It was pretty in-tune with how my nightmares usually go. I'm wondering if I had this nightmare because I fell asleep with a polyester blanket on top of my head and became too hot, as overheating has historically resulted in nightmares for me. I've remembered details from a few other dreams this week, but they're quite minimal so I won't even record them as fragments. Hopefully my recall improves some more.
      I woke up in bed, and the room was dark. I sensed that it was the middle of the night. I was initially lying on my stomach, but I pulled myself upright into a sitting position, criss-crossing my legs in front of me on the bed. I generally don't hang my legs over the side of the bed in real life, and I didn't want to do it here, either. There wasn't much to see, but I could feel the bed underneath me, and I knew I was wearing a CPAP mask on my face. However, unlike in real life, I couldn't feel the mask on my face. I just "knew" it was there. This didn't strike me as odd.

      As I breathed normally, I heard the quiet inhalation and exhalation noise from the CPAP hose. The noise itself seemed normal, but it seemed a bit out of sync with my breathing. The placement was also wrong. It was supposed to be coming from my nightstand area, next to my pillow, because that was where my CPAP machine was located in real life. But in the dream, the noise was coming from further down the the bed, near the foot of it, which implied the machine had somehow been moved onto the floor there. I vaguely wondered how the machine got there, but there was no accompanying fear or trepidation, or curiosity enough to find the source. I wasn't bothered about the reason. I just wanted to put it back where it was supposed to be.

      I shimmied over until I was sitting closer to the foot of the bed. In the dream, I believed if I could simply find the hose and move it back, I could move the whole machine back to its proper place too without ever picking it up. I wasn't thinking logically either - I didn't realize that if I wanted to find the hose, which was connected to my mask, I could've just felt my mask on my face and gone from there. Oh well. It was still dark and I couldn't see, so I knew I had to feel around for the hose. I reached out into the darkness next to my bed. As soon as I touched what I "knew" was the hose, I felt something grab my hand tightly. I heard an inaudible yet somehow loud scream, and I knew I was about to die. There was a brief sensation of what I could only describe as the frightened, resigned knowledge that I would be pulled into an eternal purgatory of murky shapes and presences underneath my bed.

    5. Rat Demon

      This was a brief false awakening that resulted from a non-WBTB WILD.
      I was lying on my side in bed, and the bedroom was very dark. I rolled onto my back with an uncannily small amount of effort that made me feel weightless, and then, I saw a shadowed figure sitting beside me, looking down at me. It was so cloaked in shadow that I couldn't see any details including its face; all I could see was a dark, person-shaped entity. It unsettled me and I didn't want the dream to go in a nightmare direction, so I reached out to put my hand on its shoulder and casually said, "hey, how's it going?". It smiled, revealing a mouth full of teeth that were very long and ratlike. Its teeth were the only thing I could see within the darkness of its face, and while the smile didn't seem malicious, the teeth made me even more unsettled than before. Despite my discomfort, the dream still felt like it couldn't decide whether it wanted to become a nightmare or stay neutral. The dream ended.

    6. Freak Out, Fly, Repeat

      NOTICE: this is the last dream journal entry I made before leaving Dreamviews for an 11-year hiatus. Newer dream journal entries will have a markedly different writing quality and narrative style.

      This semi-lucid bugged the hell out of me. I was in my room upstairs, lying in bed, and then I heard my dad screaming from downstairs in a terrifying manner. I became semi-lucid, so I just decided to jump out the window and fly away, but I got stuck mid-air. Then I was suddenly in my bed again, with my dad still screaming, but this time from down the hallway outside my room! I flipped out and took a running jump out the window, in an effort to get past my dad. Once again I tried to fly, once again I got stuck, and once again I ended up in my bed, and at that point, I could feel my dad's presence right there in the bedroom. I felt something, presumably my dad, move beside me as I jumped out the window a third and final time.

      When I woke up in my bed after the third time, I was scared that I was experiencing another repeat.

      This was a total of three false awakenings, which were probably all part of the same dream because of the similar contents.

      It was early in the morning; my guess is that the time was around 7:00 AM. I was lying in my bed with my eyes closed; the unusually light and airy duvet cover was up to a little below my chin, and the bedroom was pitch-black. No light whatsoever was coming in from the single window on the wall, which was on the wall opposite of where I was facing: I was on my stomach, my head half-sunk into my pillow but turned towards the door of my room. The door was open, which led to a hallway adjacent to the entrance of my room; if you were to turn left, walk a few feet and turn right, the stairs were right there. They led downstairs to the main level of the house. There was a very, very faint yellow light coming from the hallway, most likely from downstairs, although there was no apparent light source - it was just a faded wash of a slight lighting over the entire room.

      In bed I felt very tired, like a stone. I didn't want to get up but I knew that it was time for school, so I slowly pushed the covers back; they bunched up like an accordion - I usually fold them back, but I didn't catch onto the fact that I was dreaming quite yet. It was when I actually stood up that I suddenly became aware enough to question if I was in a dream. I didn't do an RC, but I simply knew that I was asleep at a fairly low level of awareness. I looked at my night table, which was right next to my bed (and therefore beside me once I got out of bed), and noticed I didn't have an alarm clock at all there, even though there should've been one.

      I didn't say anything, though.

      Moments later, once I was out of bed, I heard my dad in the lower level of the house shouting at me in a very stern, tense voice to "get downstairs!"

      This terrified me, and I had this creeping feeling that the dream was going to become a nightmare if I just stood there. So I opened the door of my room a bit more to go through it, and I took a running leap into the hallway. The hallway was adjacent to my bedroom, with the wall opposite of the door only being a half-wall. Past that, if you were to look down, you'd be seeing the first floor. On the wall past this half-wall was a big window, and this is where I jumped into. I leaped onto the half-wall with a big jump and then glided right into the glass; however, I didn't smash it; I merely went through it like a ghost.

      It was very dark outside so I couldn't see practically anything, but I was beginning to lose lucidity anyways. I flapped my arms and kicked my legs once I got three or four feet outside the window, which didn't do much - I didn't pick up speed or even move forward that much. I was just suspended.


      I woke up in my bed.

      Or, did I?

      In actuality, I had just entered a false awakening, and it was the same scenario as before. This time, however, my dad's voice didn't come from downstairs, but in the hallway, quite a few feet away from the door of my room. I ran and jumped through the window again, still slightly conscious, but met the same predicament where I was floating, getting nowhere.

      I woke up one more time into the dream but this time, my dad's voice was coming from inside my room, which was very dark like before. It was a whisper this time, situated behind me (I was lying on my side facing my room's door again) - I didn't waste any time bolting out of bed and making a total beeline for the window. The same thing happened and at this point, I had just enough awareness left to start freaking out, wondering this time if my dad would be able to reach through the window and grab my foot, pulling me back in...

      Then I woke up for real.

      I did many reality checks after that P.O.S. dream.

    7. Fragment 3/3 - Pikachu with a Freeze Gun

      Notes:
      These three fragments are all from one long-ass dream about a war being waged between two sides. I'm not sure what these "sides" were, because the characters and scenarios were so random. I don't remember much of the content that happened between the fragments.

      The entire dream must have been fifteen minutes in length. It's one of the longest non-lucids I've had.

      This was the coolest of the fragments, but unfortunately I waited to record it last... In doing so, I've forgotten just about all of it. Derp. Let's see what I can salvage.

      I was positioned in an indoor battlefield which consisted of the same type of woody and metallic rubble as described in my last two entries, but there was more brown dirt, almost like soil, this time. You could also see patches of shiny, light metal flooring underneath the dirt and debris. Above me loomed a dome-like, curved white canopy roof; the building itself was a long half-cylinder in shape which was really only made up by the roof, which curled all the way to the ground on both sides, with two half-circles of metal wall on either end of it, sealing off the openings completely. The building was at least a hundred feet in length and twenty feet in width, and the lighting was dim, but not dark, as there were flashes of light going off in every direction. Some flashes were from explosions, others from gunfire.

      Somewhere along the ground, in the middle of the room, was a square-shaped system of trenches that averaged about two feet deep. I was with my father and sister; we were crouching down and trying to hurry through to one end of the trenches as quickly as we could. They only took up an area of maybe ten by ten feet, so it didn't take long before they ended and we peered up over them. The ground with the trenches was raised a few feet by a naturally-occurring hill, and right before the hill sloped down (at the edge of the trench) was a line of concrete barricades.

      All three of us were sitting beside one another: my dad was on my immediate left, with my sister on the other side of him. My dad was wearing a basic olive green army helmet (I can't remember what clothing he had on), but I didn't really see much of my sister. More than anything, I just knew that she was there, although I did hear her voice a few times. My dad was holding a shotgun with a beautiful polished wooden plank on the side of it, and I was carrying a small handgun. I stared at it, and then I realized we each had to choose "who we were going to be" for this war, before we started fighting and shooting.

      "I call Pikachu", I said, turning around to see a pale blue, detached door that was sitting in the trench behind me. There was a rectangular mirror on it, with the length of the mirror going perpendicular to the length of the door itself. In the mirror, I saw a blurry outline of a Pikachu which looked more animated, but also had a slight realism to it; I could almost see fur or something.

      "Haha!" I said. Then I turned around, picking up a large gun that had somehow appeared on the ground to my right while I was looking away at the door. I made a few "Pikachu" sounds, which came out exactly like how Pikachu sounds in the Pokemon anime. I fired the gun, which had a normal-sized handle but a large body. It reminded me of the shrink ray from Despicable Me, except it was mostly metal/silver, with a more rectangular frame and a cyan color only used for accents, not the entire gun.

      I pulled the trigger, and the gun blasted a short stream of very pale blue light, which turned into a large blueish ice cube. I fired it at someone who was running at me (he was wearing brown clothes and, like my dad, a green army helmet), and he froze in place, with some of those "motion lines" of ice behind him.

      That's the extent of what I can remember.

    8. Fragment 2/3 - Legolas' Death and a "Crispy" Dumbledore

      Notes:
      These three fragments are all from one long-ass dream about a war being waged between two sides. I'm not sure what these "sides" were, because the characters and scenarios were so random. I don't remember much of the content that happened between the fragments.

      The entire dream must have been fifteen minutes in length. It's one of the longest non-lucids I've had.

      So many morbid dreams lately! I wonder what's up...

      Anyways, this was the shorter of the three fragments, and probably the weirdest one too! I was in the same location as in my previous dream, Open Heart Medicine, except that it was much darker overall. The colors were paler and more dark-blueish in tone, but some browns were still present in the piles of wood and scattered items. Instead of being at the foot of the one large hill, I was about halfway up it, kind of standing awkwardly on the slope with one knee bent a little. I was looking up at the top of the hill, where the front half of a classic pirate ship was placed; it was facing upwards into the sky at a bit of an angle. It looked like the back end had been blasted off, because there were lots of shards of wood and hanging chains, along with other items, where it was cut off. The dark grey flags and sails were almost non-existent; they were very torn up and looked like they could've just dissolved into the air at the mention of a slight wind.

      To the left of the ship, also on top of the pile, was a single stack of flatter black rocks that was a good ten feet in height; on top was a man; I knew that this was Legolas from Lord of the Rings. I only saw his silhouette though; it was a straight black color with no definition, as if it was a shadow puppet. His hands were on his hips and he was looking at the ship, which was directly to his right, level with him. As soon as I looked at him, the sky changed (although I can't really tell -when- exactly it did so) to a really dark red, which gradated to dark orange, and then a pale darker yellow right behind Legolas.

      I looked to my left and saw a short man, possibly a dwarf but I'm not entirely sure, sitting on the side of the hill not five feet from me. He was wearing a woven Chinese sun hat and had a ginger beard, but I couldn't see his face because of the hat. He was wearing Lord of the Rings-style armor: silver, with some green and pale maroon fabric underneath, complete with some chainmail on the chest and lower arms. He had a long, skinny twig in the side of his mouth, and he chewed it a little bit.

      "Legolas committed suicide," he told me with a very husky, almost garbled voice. "He was too proud to face conquest by the enemy".

      I looked up, and then I saw that Legolas had vanished from the rock stack.

      In a matter of moments, I had forgotten all about Legolas and the short man, and brought my attention back to the ship, but this time I was looking in front of it, on the side of the hill closest to me. There was a cross made from two wider-than-normal planks of wood, and on it was what I believed to be Dumbledore, although he looked more like Gandalf. He was wearing Gandalf the Grey's outfit, with a grey witch's hat on his head. What was so creepy about this, however, was that his eyes were wide open and his mouth made a bit of a gaping expression, and he was burned up with dark skin and yellow teeth. It reminded me of a crucifixion.

      "Why is he so crispy?" I asked myself quietly, suddenly very afraid of my surroundings.

    9. Fragment 1/3 - Open Heart Medicine

      The entire dream must have been fifteen minutes in length. It's one of the longest non-lucids I've had.

      It was dusk. There was a somewhat light blue colour on the horizon, which faded into black the higher up you looked. I was in the middle of a battlefield, and there was a huge amount of debris on the ground - there were so many large, snapped planks of wood, metal pieces, shards, and other garbage everywhere that you almost couldn't even see what was underneath. Larger piles of this debris here and there formed a hilly landscape, and you could see tiny, tiny pieces of paper, metal and dust floating around in the air, but the air wasn't filled to the point of suffocation, or even to the point there would be a haze of it everywhere. The ground that was visible had a paler brown and earthy color to it, with the exception of some silver/grey metals scattered around.

      There were some decrepit city skyscrapers scattered throughout the area, some closer together but others farther apart. They had large holes blown out of them, crumbling and looking like they were going to collapse. In front of two buildings right next to each other was a larger hill that was angled at a higher degree from the ground than the other hills, and on top were a few exploded cars - grey and black in color - and some burnt suede couches that were pale tan. The entire hill was raised a good ten feet from the ground, and it was thirty feet or so in diameter. At the base, just where it began to rise up off the ground, was a dummy like one would find in a crash test site. It had a plastic bag over it, which was molded to its shape. In its chest was a hole, and in it was what someone would normally have in a chest cavity - some ribs, lungs, and the heart.

      However, the heart was light pink in color, and it there was only half of it. Instead of being able to see inside the atria and ventricles, however, they were just covered with muscle as if there was only half of a heart to begin with; as if it wasn't cut at all. Where each atria was, there was a tiny hole, almost like a slit. The heart was beating weakly and I knew that it belonged to a person who I had to deliver it to, so I pulled the heart out and it came out easily, with a few pale yellow tendons holding it back. I put it on the ground and noticed that whenever the heart beated, a very small amount of blood came out of each slit on the atria. I grabbed a plastic syringe from my jacket (which happened to be a brown leather one) pocket, and I saw that it was filled with clear fluid. I knew that this was medicine that I had to put into the heart, so I took the syringe and pressed some medicine out over each atria.

      That's all I can remember in this fragment.

    10. The Poison Tentacle Creature

      Holy crap. I recalled seven dreams between last night (8 hours) and a nap that I took this afternoon (4 hours). The majority of these dreams were very vivid, but sadly there were no lucids. I'll try to publish them all over the next few days.

      It was just beginning to get dark; the sky was a pale mid-blue in color. My father and I were outside on a dark wooden dock, which was slightly rotted from age. This dock was attached to a decently-sized island filled with Mexican-style buildings. We could see indiscernible land all around us in the distance, between this island was in the middle of a lake. The water was dark, not quite black but bordering on it. Near and under the L-shaped dock, it was lighter because the water was shallower. The long part of the dock's "L" shape went onto the land, while the short part went along the side of it, and this part of the dock went out a good eight or nine feet away from the island, sinking down a little bit the further out it went.

      There were only three or four people around, and they were a good ways away from the dock. My dad and I walked down the dock and arrived at the edge, looking down into the shallow part of the water, which was a nice turquoise color that gradated from the blacker parts. I could see some sand very faintly at the bottom. My dad decided to go swimming; this is one of the first instances where I can almost completely visualize what someone was wearing: he was wearing jeans with a slight blackness to them, as if he had walked through soot or something, and he was wearing a purple and orange thick-striped shirt with two white buttons on the collar, which was popped. A strange clothing choice, but meh... My subconscious is weird.

      He pulled his shirt down a bit, and it seemed to lengthen as he did; it was now halfway down to his knees. A swimsuit of sorts, maybe?

      Then, my dad kneeled down and put one leg over the dock at a time, then slowly got into the water. I watched him wade outwards from the dock, but then I saw a few dark - and ridiculously realistic, down to the lighting and textures - shapes floating on the water, heading for him. There were four of them; they were scattered around the water and not really following a line or anything. They were dark, dark green, and shaped exactly like pistachio shells - two curved half-ovals which were only attached on one side, and they had some short lighter green tentacles which reminded me of leeches, but they were slimmer and longer. Their bodies were on top of the tentacles, which fanned out in a circle underneath, and the tentacles probably had a span of only a foot from tip-to-tip.

      I called out, "dad, get out of the water!" because I knew these creatures were dangerous. My dad turned around to see them floating towards him. One of them, the closest one, opened its mouth to reveal tiny, razor-sharp black teeth and a larger mussel for a tongue. It swam quickly over to him as he tried to pull himself onto the dock, and he got up, but not before it fastened its tentacles onto his arm and stuck there. The tentacles wrapped around it and wouldn't let go, and he had to try very hard to tear them off. "It's implanting poison into my arm!" my dad said, freaking out. If the tentacles were on his arm more than a few seconds, he would die because poison would seep into his arm.

      Two of the tentacles were wrapped around from his left side, while the other two were wrapping from the opposite direction. They looked lighter and more translucent while on his arm, but when I pulled the four tentacles off his arm, with his help, they looked darker. I grabbed the creature by its body and threw it into the water. I saw no marks on his arm, but we were still both very scared.

      The dream ended with my dad having a scared look on his face, which looked genuine even though I'd never seen him look like this in real life.

    11. False Atonement

      I was in some kind of warehouse that was filled with boxes, and it almost looked like a location from the Halo games. The lighting was very good, because the large windows let in lots of light from outside. (From my vantage point I could only see blue skies outside the windows, so I didn't know where I was supposed to be). There were a few people around whom I didn't recognize, just minding their own business, not really doing anything. I was walking towards the center of the room, where a large wooden crate with metal trim was present. It was rectangular in shape, a good 10x5x5 feet in dimension, and it was propped up on its end, so it was very tall. It was surrounded by a few other metal crates which had large chains wrapped around them, each complete with the a large silver padlock.

      "I know who did it!" I yelled, supposedly to someone who was sitting on top of the rectangular crate, although I couldn't see them up there. There was no response, but my dream-self believed that the person did indeed say something, so I continued. "What this man did was wrong and vile, and we must do something!"

      I looked on the left of the crate to see my sister walking towards me with a disconcerted and fazed expression on her face. I walked towards her, and we hugged each other. Somehow, I knew that she had been kidnapped and made to perform very bad acts in front of a camera, held of course by the kidnapper. Her friend was also forced to do this stuff, but they had run away at an inopportune moment.

      "It was [my boyfriend's name]!" I shouted after we let go of each other. "He is a sick person! He must be killed!"

      The dream fast-forwarded a little. Now, I was sitting on a very short wooden crate in front of one of the large windows, and my sister was nowhere to be found. I looked into the center of the room and saw that the large crate was gone. In its place was a very clean, neat drawing of a large black circular ring, which was probably five feet in diameter. My boyfriend was standing in the middle with his hands behind his back, and he looked at me pleadingly, but didn't speak. I scowled at him and said, "you really think I'll tell the truth?" At this point in the dream, I knew that he didn't actually commit the crime against my sister and her friend, but I was mad at him for some other unknown reason (a petty one, though), so I wanted revenge.

      I don't want to describe what happened next. All I'll say is that a man with an axe came in, my boyfriend got on his knees, and there was blood. Albeit the blood was more like dark powder that burst and dispersed into the air, fading away.

    12. Starting Over #1: Beast's Windshield Fail, Flying Ant Suit

      I'm making a serious attempt to LD again, starting with improving my dream recall. But since my recall and lucid count is so poor, I'm going to start slowly instead of pushing myself to remember every single detail of my dreams. Last night I recalled two dreams (along with some others from previous nights), which I'll combine in this single entry.
      Dream 1 - Beast's Windshield Fail

      I was the cockpit of a small plane that was supposed to be the X-Jet, but this "cockpit" was huge. It was very similar to the final place where Captain America and Red Skull fought in the film Captain America: The First Avenger, except with no junk or clutter everywhere. The flooring was tile and there was the same huge contoured windshield, which let a large amount of light into the jet. I was right at the windshield and I knew that there were seats behind me with Moira and Charles sitting in them, but I didn't turn around to see. I was looking outside, there below I could see trees and plains. In front of me, a bit more upwards, I could see wispy clouds whizzing by. On the jet's left-hand side I knew there was an exact same X-Jet with Beast, Banshee and Magneto in it. They were with us trying to fight off some enemy ships, which were quite a ways in front of us. I was strongly aware of their presence in front, even though I couldn't see them.

      All of a sudden, our jet suddenly started moving downwards sharply, but I didn't actually feel a shift in gravity or even fell over - I just saw more of the ground, because we were tilted towards it. We did a few maneuvers and ended up leveling out again without getting that close to the ground, but then, I saw something fly into view from the left and smack into the middle of our jet's windshield. It was Beast. I didn't see his face; I simply saw his body make contact with the glass, making a bit of a crack, and ricochet off. I also heard the "thump" noise that one hears when a bird hits a window. I wasn't concerned, and I simply continued to look out the windshield. I heard the same "thump" again and looked back to the windshield to, somehow, see Beast once again smacking into the glass! This happened two more times and I ended up getting pissed off that "he kept doing that".

      Upon waking, I laughed. It was very comical.



      Dream 2 - Flying Ant Suit

      I was in the front grounds of my school, which basically consists of a parking lot on the right side (coming out from the front of the school) and a much larger grassy area on the left, with a sturdy black metal fence on the two sides where the property is next to the streets. It was daytime; the sky was a light, pale shade of blue. I was in the grassy part of the schoolyard but instead of it being empty like in real life, there was a play structure in the middle of it. I was about ten feet away from the structure, in the shadows it cast from a random light source (I couldn't identify the location of it upon awakening, as there wasn't a sun...).

      In front of me was a stuffed animal made of that shiny, plastic-like beanbag fabric; it was supposed to be an ant. The whole thing was relatively dark grey and it consisted of a large head with two big plastic eyes, and a round, slightly pointed body. It was very cute, and the whole thing was a couple feet taller than me; it was a suit of some sort, which I could get into and fly off in. It was sitting upright but I noticed that there weren't any legs, like I somehow knew there were supposed to be, so I walked up to it and lifted the head up; there was a dark mesh hole (like some mascot costumes have where the face is) underneath. I pushed on it with my hand and, even though I didn't actually see them appear, there were now six plush legs hanging from the ant's body. I tried to find a zipper or opening to get into the suit but I couldn't. I was looking for three or four minutes until the dream ended.

    13. Fassbender and Gyllenhaal - Invisible, Mountainous Bobsledding

      I guess this qualifies as a false awakening. And yeah, I know this is yet another dream with Michael Fassbender, but I'm trying to get back into the habit of typing up all the dreams I can remember! Hopefully the presence of Jake can make up for that.

      This dream began with me lying on my back, on a bed, with the covers thrown completely over my head. This bed was twin-sized, and there was a thin cream-colored bedsheet on me. On top of that was a brown, heavier comforter, almost like a duvet. The bed was positioned in the corner of a small room, the headboard against one wall and the right side of it up against the wall. The room was probably only 10x10 feet, smaller than a normal bedroom, and it had no other furniture. The door was on the wall opposite to where the head of the bed was up against, off more to the right. There weren't any sources of light in the room; it was almost completely dark, except for a pale glow coming from the half-open door. The light leaked into the room quite a bit, and wasn't confined just to where the opening in the door was.

      I tilted my head up a little bit and I could see the door - I didn't have to take the sheets off to be able to see through them, as they were a little transparent (but not that much). I had a good sense of surroundings, but I didn't realize that I was in a completely random room somewhere; all I knew was that I was in bed, and was supposed to wake up soon because it was morning. There was another feeling, however - I also believed that it was night time. This confused me upon awakening, but hey, it's a dream so anything goes.

      At the beginning of the dream I already knew that I'd been lying down awake for some time, so I was a little groggy and actually felt a bit heavy from tiredness. I probably only laid there for a minute or so, but the time felt like it went by much slower. Before I knew it, I had put my head back down into the rather soft pillow, still on my back, only to hear scampering footsteps, like that of an excited animal, right outside the door. The scampering was a bit slower, then got faster and faster, almost like something from a horror movie - such as a monster that was coming right up behind you. But the door slowly opened, spilling more light into the room (the hallway that the doorway led into had a blank cream wall, offset to a yellow tone from the light). A large dalmatian, probably a good four feet tall, came walking in excitedly and leaped up onto the bed in a realistic manner: it bent its hind legs, raised its butt and pushed up from the ground. I'd never observed such realistic behavior in an animal before. I could even hear quiet jingling from a collar, and felt the weight of the dog's paws on the bedsheets, which were still on top of me.

      The dalmatian was now standing on the bed, over the lump of covers with me hidden underneath, and started to lick the sheets right where my face was, rustling around on the covers. I could hear its breathing and nose sniffing around like a real dog. As for myself, I had a slight amount of lucidity, but I wasn't aware enough to achieve true lucidity - you know, that defining epiphany moment with a sudden realization of my current state of being in a dream.

      I used my elbows to prop myself up and, feeling the weight of the dog (which was a bit less than it should've been for a dog this size), I pushed it away. The dog went down onto the floor and walked out the door, and I followed.

      Long story short (just for the sake of posting because I dreamed this entry over two weeks ago), I ended up walking outside onto a road that wound along the side of a mountain. I summoned four small, flat levitating pieces of shiny metal which I laid down on and proceeded to move slowly down the mountainside. I heard two people zooming up behind me and as one of them passed, I looked and saw that he was Jake Gyllenhaal. I also heard a voice next to me that casually said "hey, how's it going?"; when I turned to my left I saw Michael Fassbender. He looked at me, smiled, and pulled back behind me so that I was now in the middle of them. I sped up and rushed down the hill without falling off this makeshift 'bobsled', and summoned bright yellow bursts of light at my feet to speed me up even more.

    14. An Invite to "Shame"

      When I woke up after this dream, I looked for the invitation for like five minutes because I was still half-asleep. Then I realized the whole thing had been a dream. I was so pissed off at my subconscious for even suggesting I could actually go to see this movie, let alone meet Michael Fassbender.

      I was in some kind of small, square-shaped room, the kind one might find in a museum or government building. The design of the room gave off a bit of a Greek or Roman vibe, but there were some modern components too if that makes sense. At one end of the room, there was a stage. I knew it was night time, because the pitch-black sky was visible through a large square pane of glass in the ceiling. The inside of the building wasn't lit very well, with only a few small flush ceiling lights that faded out towards the floor.

      I was walking toward one of my friends, who was sitting on the steps of the stage; they were holding a piece of paper in their hands and looking at it. I got closer, now about five feet away from them, and they got up, starting to walk toward me.

      "What is that?" I asked them, curious.

      They gave me the paper and as I took it, they said something to me, but I didn't understand what they said - it was as if they spoke and I recognized that they were speaking, but my brain didn't internalize the specific words, just the meaning of them. I replied normally though. "What?" I said, incredulously. From my reply and my mindset, I knew my friend had just handed me an invitation to a free screening of the 2011 movie Shame, with Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. It was also the type of screening where you could meet the actors - not just a quick signing, but actually meet them and talk with them for a while. I was very excited.

      I said to my friend, "I'm guessing you can't go to this, so could I maybe go instead? I mean, you can't because you're under eighteen, so..."

      The movie is NC-17 in real life, so absolutely no one under eighteen is allowed admission. The funny thing was, I'm only seventeen in real life too, but I wasn't aware of this in the dream. For some reason, I believed that I would be able to get admission.

      "No, you can have it," they told me.

      I glanced down at the paper held it closer. The printed text was very small, probably 8-point font. It looked like a resume without that much spacing between four-or-five line paragraphs, and it had some bolded words in capitals here and there. At the very top, I remember specifically reading "2011 - Festival Screening of Shame".

      I jumped for joy and said excitedly, "thank you, thank you! This is awesome!"

      Sometime during this, the dream ended.

    15. This is Wierd... Stop Waking Up.

      This dream drove me up the wall. I classified it as a fragment because I'm unsure whether it was a bunch of small dreams back-to-back, or just a single long one.

      I woke up in my bedroom, in the middle of the night in a false awakening. The room was dark, with a slight pale blue glow coming from underneath the bedroom door. I couldn't see anything but I was definitely in the right bed, with the covers almost completely over my head. I groggily put my head up a bit and looked at the red numbers of my digital clock on the lower side table (positioned to the left of my bed). They read properly, saying 1:47. I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep.

      I woke up again and groaned, thinking I would have to get up for school soon. I was in the same bed with the same light coming from the door, darkness, and I looked at my clock. This time, it said 2:47. I exclaimed, "only one hour?" and put my head down again. This same pattern continued two more times, with the next times reading 3:48 and4:48. By the end of this string, I felt very pissed off and annoyed because I was only sleeping in hour-long increments. It was a little hard to tell if this was a dream at first, but the nature of this whole situation confirmed to me that it was a dream. I never wake up like this, and usually only wake up once (or not at all) during the night.
