    1. 02/07/2011 - The Restaurant Way Home

      NOTES/NON-LUCID/LUCID

Alright, so I consider this 'Day 1' of my attempt to have a lucid dream within the next week, since I am off work and can devote time to lucid dreams.

No lucid dream last night, but at least I have some recall. Hopefully that will improve throughout the week as well.

I was someplace far away from home with a group of friends, and it was time to go home. We loaded up in the car and drove off, but in only a couple hours (which passed like seconds, but the car clock said it had been hours) it was getting close to time to eat, so we started looking for restaurants to stop at. We attempted to stop at several, but something or another would cause us to leave. Sometimes they were closed, sometimes the service was deplorable, and sometimes we'd just plain decide we wanted something different. This went on for several more hours until finally we found someplace where we could actually stay and eat. The day was already ending at that point. I commented that we had not made much progress, and everyone kind of just nodded and kept eating . When we were done, and back in the car, we drove down the street the restaurant was on, rounded a corner...and then, to my shock, I recognized the road we were on. Somehow we'd made it back home while we were searching for restaurants!

The dream faded out then, and I soon woke up. I tried to DEILD or WILD, but no luck. Eventually I did fall asleep for another hour, but it was dreamless.

    2. Darn it!

by , 02-07-2011 at 04:02 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Failed RC

I am walking down a hallway in part of a much longer dream. This leads into a sort of place that is reminiscent of the food section of a fair. I recognize this as a dreamsign, and think that I had better do a reality check. I pinch my nose and try to breath. I can't but I try harder and for a little longer to be sure. I still can't breathe.

I think about trying to fly, but there are too many people around. I figure I would look silly trying to jump into the air, so I just decide to rely on the nose pinch RC.

Anyway, I continue walking in blissful ignorance down the hallway, and come to a set of stairs. Down these stairs is a little courtyard where supposedly I always go to get away from the crowded city. I don't remember it from real life, but I do know that there is something in my life that is like that place. It's a representation of something real. I think about going down to sit in the courtyard, but decide not to. There is a guy sitting down there on a picnic table. I look around, and see that there is graffiti all over the upper walls of the place. It detracts a little bit from the peacefullness, but I still like the courtyard.

    3. Dream...

      by , 02-07-2011 at 03:28 PM
I should have seen this one coming, cause I had social studies test today.
I always get a FA when Im concerned about the next day or morning as I was today also.

I am at our backyard, Its summer and a school morning so I have to go to school. I hear that RV is calling my dad and then I see RV walking down the street near our house, shes a bit drunk and I suddenly try to rush inside. I have this tiny music bow with me but its grinding my shit(???) and theres like some brown liquid and lumps of shit dropping from the music box when I play it. I get into our garage and Im parking my bike there when RV comes there. I see my moped there but I also see another moped which is not mine. Im wondering why is that, that I have 2 mopeds, but I dont become lucid.

I also have these feelings of stress and hurry...
    4. 7.2.2011: Arena for adventurers

      Dream Lucid Me DC

      Dream 1
I´m at an arena. Someone tells me its an arena where adventurers can battle each other. I see Fry and Leela from Futurama sitting there. They tell me that their going to enter the tournament. At some point, I become a healer and join their team. My classmate M is also there, looking for a teammate. (The rivalry begins...) Later I get an clarinet and find an song to play with it from some forest. It´s an healing song. (I also got another song from an canyon, but can´t remember what it was.) When I get back to the arena, I find out that M has found an teammate. I think he was an warrior. I wake up.

      Dream 2
I´m back at the arena. M has made my teammates to eat some magic gingerbread to prevent us from competing in the tournament. I forgot my healing song, so I go back to the forest to get it, but I wake up.

    5. grammar helicopter; female harlocks; super bowl sub shop; skating kids

      by , 02-07-2011 at 12:50 PM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

I was flying a helicopter over a river at night. I was coming up on a big cityscape, the lights of which had a low, buzzing, brownish-yellow color, almost like hypnagogic vision.

In the helicopter with me was a good looking man, maybe 15 years older than I, with blonde hair and a tan face. I was giving the man grammar lessons. I was trying to explain something about the way Homer used poetic expressions to give more vividness to his battle scenes.

I pointed out a few examples. But then I felt like I was being too condescending, acting like the man knew nothing about grammar at all. So I tried to think of another way to explain things that would assume more intelligence in the man.

But now the man told me, "I don't care for all that poetic stuff. I believe in direct expression. What's the most concise way you can say something?"

I felt a little ashamed. I agreed with the man. I looked back on all my writing and wondered if I had been concise enough. I doubted it.

I told the man I agreed with him. I was now in a hospital at night. I was in some hall. Eveything was dim, with only a few occasional ceiling lights turned on. I looked into some room through a big, plastic window. I may either have seen a newborn baby in a bed or a very injured adult in critical care.

      Dream #2

I was walking into an anime convention. I was in some basement area, walking through a huge hallway into a large main room. The hallway and room were full of people.

I looked behind me. A group of girls was close to me. They might have known me somehow or been my friends. Two of the girls were dressed like Captain Harlock. They looked kind of boyish, but they didn't strike me as being as dashing as Captain Harlock.

Then I saw a third girl dressed as Captain Harlock. She was tall, thin, and blonde. Her face was perfect. I thought she looked terrific. But her hair was cut way too short, and it didn't have any of Harlock's style.

      Dream #3

I was in an apartment that wasn't mine. I was probably watching it for somebody. The apartment was really big and nice. It was up on some high floor. The light from the windows was pinkish orange with sunset.

For some reason I decided to leave this place and go home. I went downstairs and outside. But as soon as I was outside I saw how many people there were all over the place. It was too much for me to handle. I suddenly remembered that the Super Bowl was going on, and that everywhere in the city would be like this. It would be better for me to go back upstairs and wait for things to calm down.

But I thought I should get something to eat before I went back upstairs. I was walking along some kind of desert road with something like carnival booths on each side. One of the booths was a Subway store. So I went into the line. I got up to the front pretty quickly. The lady in front of me, kind of short and overweight, ordered something that sounded really good. I tried to remember what she'd ordered, so I could order it, too.

I got an image in my head of miniature pizzas with something like olive paste and lizard eyeballs on it.

      Dream #4

I was looking out the window of a house. Down below, a group of people were skating on a snowy pond. There were three people. They wore hooded robes made or rich, red velvet. I recognized the people as being cast member from the show Kids in the Hall. But now they all looked old, ragged, and fat.

They all had these dumb smiles on their faces, as if they were doing a skit about people who thought they were really good skaters when they were actually just morons. They spun quickly (clockwise?). They vanished beneath their robes.

This spiining and vanishing act was carried out twice more. The first time, the men wore green robes. The second time, they wore blue robes.
    6. Mostly Fragments

by , 02-07-2011 at 12:50 PM (Just Another Dream Journal)
In one of my dreams last night, I dreamed I was talking to an alcoholic or drug addict. I was explaining Paradise Earth to him as well as other JW beliefs. He was very sad because all the people in his life were overly negative and unforgiving. I asked him if his past was in the past and he said yeah. I asked if he had tried to make amends to those he hurt and he said yeah. I then told him to try and disregard the words meant to only him and to continue doing a great job.

I had this dream, in part, in response to a thread I replied to.

I dreamed about poop, sharks, the RV and shopping again, but I've forgotten the specifics.

      My Notes

      Lucid
      Awake

I awake to my 6 hour alarm. Before I went to bed, I made sure to remember to be more alert when I awake. This worked, and I remembered to get up and think for a few minutes. I was in bed and started trying to WILD. I got in a comfy position after stretching and attempted to enter SP. After a few minutes, my feet began to tingle. Every few minutes, for a few moments, my heart rate would increase dramatically. This may have caused brief arousal .
My entire body began to feel heavy. I did for a few moments begin to see small HI, but this never lasted long. It was mostly just weird textures. I eventually was forced to give up, as I went to bed later than I wanted and really needed my 8 hours.

In my first dream, I'm extremely angry at my mum. I don't know why exactly, but I just am. We're in my family car (the old one) parked outside someone's house. I can tell it's a hot, clear sky day. Two kids are about to pass the car. I know I really shouldn't, but being extremely angry, I hit one of them very hard in the face through the window. For some reason I thought they were a threat. My mum and my brother (both also in the car) are horrified at what I'd just done. They made it seem like I committed murder. I remember seeing her calling someone on her phone. The police?
I'm now inside my house, running from my bedroom to the living room. I pass my dad, who is sitting in the main TV chair. He greets me with a smile and asks me what's wrong. His calmness temporarily calms me down. I tell him how I really hate mum, and how I really mean it. Before he gets a chance to respond I run outside. There are black leather chairs and lots of rubbish outside. I sit on one of the chairs. I remember seeing my dad with a confused expression looking at me through the window.
That was a pretty awful dream. I never like being angry at my mum, and I'm usually not. That's not the first dream where I've hated her.

The second dream was very short. I was in my older brother's bedroom with the light off. My little brother was with me. He was showing me a HTC "phone" he'd just bought. It was basically a watch with a screen. The screen expanded across the entire wrist band. I recently bought a very nice watch that glows in the dark very brightly. That could explain this dream. I remember wanting to buy one. I knew there was one out even better than his, but I thought buying one better than his new one would be unkind. I watched Top Gear last night. In it they were making fun of James because they had a Ferrari much better than his. I did feel a little bad for James. This would have also contributed to the dream.

In the third dream, I was with my friends Luke, Joel and George. We were all camping together. This is probably my 1000th camping dream after participating in Outward Bound. I was talking to George, something about how you should cover yourself in warm water to warm up. This made up both laugh. It's the afternoon and I notice nobody else is here. I look around, and I'm the only one there. I stay calm; at least it's not night. Later on Joel and I are at a wooden fence. I look over it (it's very tall) to find someone's backyard, with a bowl of dog food in it. I realise that this is actually a set-up camp. I go to tell Joel.

    8. Big Bang Game Show

      by , 02-07-2011 at 09:14 AM
I was watching another game show from a high view - I was either watching it on a TV or from a far back row in the audience. The audience chairs went diagonally up, like on most game shows. Penny, the female character from The Big Bang Theory had her tits out, and was balancing them in her hands. She seemed very tired out and excited at the same time, as she was doing some form of energetic task that involved her moving around on her spot. Suddenly, she got a question asking her something about food, such as "what did you eat last night"? She got all confused, until she said Spaghetti. "Spaghetti" turned out to be the answer to the REAL question, which was "What can you NOT make a baby out of?"
    9. Gay Breakfast

      by , 02-07-2011 at 09:10 AM
I was on some form of gameshow, and was in the studio. I was sat in my own little private seat on the wall, like the room the guy who controls the projector sits in at the cinema. The room was semi-lit. I looked forward, and there was someone sat next to a desk. I can't remember who this was, but I'm pretty sure it was a friend of mine. They began to interrogate me, asking me if I was eating "Gay Breakfast". At the time, I was eating a bowl of Coco-Pop Rocks. I told them I was eating breakfast, therefore we concluded that my breakfast was gay... The presenter was Asian and very eccentric.

    10. Working for Hades

by , 02-07-2011 at 09:02 AM (Various adventures of WK)
      non lucid

The dream opened up and I was sitting in an odd black chair that the right arm wrapped around to the front and had a button on it in front of me. under my button it said 12-17 and when I looked down in front there was a conveyer belt bringing people through a doorway. There were other doorways to the side that each had a different number set over them. I figured out pretty quickly that each of us were supposed to push our buttons when a person of the proper age group got to the doorway marked for their ages. the people that came through were all people that had recently died and we were sorting them. I was getting mad at my boring task and also wondering a little bit if I was dead myself so I stood up out of my chair and walked over to the right and saw some glass doors and on either side were these machines that looked like the front end of a motorcycle.
I stepped through the doors and saw 3 of those chairs that the seat extends way out in front. The largest was elevated the highest and next to an elaborate machine that I couldnt tell what it was for. The second was slightly lower than the first and the third was on the ground. The highest chair had a tall man wearing all black but the top of his head had metal over it. Something in my head just said Hades.
      "Hades?"
He didnt reply but I knew that it was the greek god. I looked into the lowest chair and saw an amazingly beautiful girl. "Are you Persephone?" I asked, "Why arent you in the second chair?"
"No silly, I am her daughter."
"Daughter? I didnt know that Hades and Persephone had a daughter."
"It wasnt recorded in the myths, Granny is ashamed of me...." She had a sad smile on her face.
I walked over to her and sat down on her chair with her. I had completely forgotten about Hades and all the questions I wanted to ask. I started making out with the goddess. and then I got thrown against the wall behind the chairs. I looked back at the largest chair and saw Hades rise out of it. He walked towards me and lifted me up off the ground. The metal on his head heated up and turned red and then black. He stopped and put me down.
"You know what youve got guts kid," He laughed "remind me of me a little when I was young growing up in the belly of my father. It wasnt just me and my siblings that he ate yknow?"
"So you wont vaporize me on the spot?"
"No I think I will answer some of your questions actually."
We talked for a while and he told me that I wasnt dead I was just working for him. He gave me a new job because the one I had sucked and after talking a little more I left the room and walked around a corner. I went to another room that had a view of the conveyer belt but also had a pool table and a drink machine. All I had to do now was play. Hades is pretty awesome I was thinking.
I walked over to see the conveyer belt and I saw some people come through the doorway and they were throwing around large blue and red balls no doubt causing trouble. After a while Hades came up to me but this time his head was covered with a hood that had cartoon characters all over it. Amazing atire for lord of the dead. He told me that I would be on a mission with his wife to aquire more workers like me.
The dream shifted forward in time and We were sitting around a campfire with people coming in from all around the area. There was a woman sitting at the other side of the circle making flowers grow. That must have been persephone. As people were coming in those of us that were the workers started a chant and everyone started to fall asleep. Then the dream ended

    11. Mayors son tears out in my yard.

by , 02-07-2011 at 07:56 AM (Various adventures of WK)
      non lucid dream

I was just sitting in my room and I looked out of my window and saw a red VW beetle in our driveway. I was wondering who it was then I saw the mayor of my town son get out of the car. He ran around to the back of my house and into the garage where I met him. He gave me 16 dollars. Then he ran back to the car and I walked around the house to see him get back in the car and my friends truck was there also. He drove off spinning his wheels in our yard. my friends pulled into the driveway and I got in the truck with them. We all went through the yard too and I looked at the only girl in the truck and told her that my grandpa would be pissed when he saw it. then the dream ended

    12. I Kissed A DC (But I Didn't Really Like It)

by , 02-07-2011 at 07:04 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm at a set of buildings that look kind of like an old-fashioned elementary school. I'm there to sign up for offline 'HITs' [Human Intelligence Tasks, small jobs for which I will get paid]. There are various organizations offering HITs to people, such as the Registrar of Voters. To work on each organization's HITs, you have to go to that organization's counter to sign up for them. When I get to one of the counters, I discover that signing up requires you to show an ID card, and I don't have mine with me. I have to go back to my car to get my purse and driver's license. Before I leave the counter, though, I notice a sheet of paper lying on it with P.'s name written on top. That means she's signing up for one of that organization's HITs, too.

When my next dream begins, a boy from my high school class appears.
As soon as I see this happen, I lock on to him as the focus of my attention, knowing that the appearance of an image out of darkness like that must mean that a dream is beginning. Then other classmates of ours begin to appear around him, followed by the environment we're all in. We're in what appears to be a restaurant seating area, sitting around long, high tables on chairs designed to match their height. This area is covered and enclosed on three sides, and it's on our high school campus. Every single student sitting in the area is someone I recognize from high school. A female teacher I had and another, male staff member are also in the crowd there, walking around between the tables.

I get up from my seat and walk out of the seating area, heading out into the main part of the campus. Beautiful morning sunlight illuminates the campus. I take two steps, then take off from the ground and start flying around, staying at about the height of the roof lines of the single-story buildings. Typically for me, flying is the first thing I think of to do when I find myself lucid dreaming. Flying is fun, as always, and feels good. I have good flying control this time, but not perfect control. I don't feel like I'm being pulled or pushed in any direction, but at one point, I start losing altitude, and reach out to touch the top edge of a concrete-block wall with my fingers as I pass by it. It feels exactly like it would in reality, but I get the strange sense that it takes a split second for my brain to generate the simulated sensation, creating a tiny delay between touching the wall and receiving the sensory input. I recover and continue flying along.

As I pass the edge of one building's roof, I notice a crawlspace that you can't see from the ground. It's formed by the flat, real roof and the pointy, upper edges of the building's decorative facades, which extend above the real roof and slant toward each other, creating an empty space shaped like a long, triangular prism. I try to make a 90-degree left turn and enter this space, but I find I can't; I just start sinking down again. I shrug off this failure, recover, and continue flying across the campus. I reach an area where the long walls of two buildings run parallel to each other, and have crenellated ramparts
[those square things on the top of the walls of a castle] at the top. As I'm flying along in between these two walls, the dream ends and I wake up.

I make a post at the beginning of a thread on a message board that turns out to be ridiculously, insanely popular, so that my computer is flooded with e-mail notifications from people posting to the thread at a rate of about one or two per second. [This dream may or may not have been at the beginning of the previous sleep cycle, I don't remember.]

I'm in a building that consists of a bunch of interconnected rooms that are filled with a colorful, random assortment of furniture and stuff. It kind of looks like a cross between someone's house and an antique store. [I just visited a bunch of antique stores on Friday, February 4.] I know I'm dreaming without any particular clue. I walk through the series of rooms, admiring the details of the dream environment, observing it with close attention. [That has been my lucid-dreaming goal for the last couple of days.] I think, I have to stay here as long as I can.

I reach a point when the sequence of rooms ends in a short T-intersection of passageways. I come up to the place where the long passageway I had been walking through ends. There is a piece of light-blue yarn hanging down in front of a low wall that stands in front of the back wall of the room. I touch the piece of yarn, running my fingers down it; it feels real. Then, I realize that the low wall it's hanging in front of is a mirror. It's a very speckly, dim mirror, and I can't see my reflection in it very clearly, but I can tell it's a mirror. I think, Hey, in a dream, you can walk through these and get to somewhere else. I straighten up and step forward with the intention of walking through the mirror.

First my arms, and then my head and part of my upper body go through the surface of the mirror. It is the coolest feeling. Like when I walked through the wall, I feel a slight resistance at first and then it yields to me, but this time, instead of feeling like something thin and hard breaking, it feels like going through a thick, liquid membrane. The membrane stays where it is as I go through it; I can feel it on my skin. There's nothing beyond the surface of the mirror but blackness, though. I realize that I didn't really think about what I expected to be on the other side before I started going through the mirror. Not wanting to go into the unknown, I pull back, out of the mirror.

I notice another, smaller mirror to my right. Just to continue experimenting with this newly-discovered ability, I start putting my fingers through the surface. Once again, they go right in. I don't really want to try to get anywhere else anymore, though, so I pull them back out. They come away with a silver coating of liquid mercury on them. I shake my hand to get the stuff off my fingers, but I'm aware that liquid mercury can't really hurt me in a dream.

In the small room off to the right, there is a slightly fat, female DC. I know her from somewhere, and know that her name is Melody.
[Which is strange, because I've known several people named Melody and this DC didn't look like any of them.] We talk briefly [I don't remember about what], and then I turn away to explore the other side of the T-intersection, the small room off to the left of the big mirror. As I'm going into that room, I go, “Oh, yeah.” I remember the basic Task of the Month. I turn back around and say, “Melody. Melody!” She starts approaching me, and I approach her. When I get close enough, I put my arms behind her head and shoulders and lean in to kiss her. She realizes what I'm trying to do and pulls away with a look of revulsion. I say, “Just on the cheek. Please?” She stops pulling away and just stands there and lets me kiss her. I give her a kiss on the closest, most convenient spot I can reach, which is on the forehead, just above her right eye. Then I let her go, and she leaves. I look back at the big mirror and consider trying to get to Neopia by going through it, but I decide not to because I don't trust my dream control abilities that far. I've never done that before, and I'm afraid of it going wrong.

False awakening in my current, real room. I hear a sound that I recognize as the sound of fish splashing in a fishtank. I also hear P. moving around in her bed, which is on the other side of the room, parallel to mine. I don't open my eyes to look, but I do say aloud, “No! P. can't be here, and neither can her fish!”

      “Yes, I can!” says P.

“When did you get home?” I ask her.

      “Yesterday.”

      “Oh.”

When I woke up for real, I found this FA rather amusing. Also, I was surprised that I'd had a dream that consisted entirely of sounds, with no visuals at all.
    13. 02/06/2011 - Getting back at it

      by , 02-07-2011 at 07:03 AM (LiveInTheDream's DJ v2.5)
      NOTES/NON-LUCID/LUCID

In recent months life has just plain been too busy to focus on lucid dreaming enough to keep a DJ. I'm going to try from now on to be less specific with my entries so that I can keep up a DJ even on days when I have little time, but regardless, I finally have almost a full week without work or a lot of other things, so I can spend as long as I need to on lucid dreaming right now.

Last night immediately before going to bed I listened to Stephen LaBerge's guided awareness exercise on MP3, and I kept it in mind while falling asleep. This resulted in the following dream:

I was at work, kind of out of it, doing my normal stuff absent mindedly, when a co-worker came up and told me something that had been going on and asked me a few questions about it to see what she should do. For some reason I did not directly answer her questions, but instead got up and found another co-worker and asked her about the same thing. She replied with a totally different version of the same story. I smiled, then, suspecting that I was dreaming. One by one I pointed out all of the flaws in logic with her story, and how it didn't match up with what I'd previously heard--which was now not sounding too logical, either. I determined that if I would hear a third version of the same story, I would know I was dreaming, so I found yet another co-worker and asked him for his take. It was, as expected, totally different, and logically flawed.

Unfortunately, that was the extent of it. I didn't really become lucid, I just laughed at all the logical flaws and stood there pointing them out to everyone, all the while knowing that it all meant I was dreaming, but without truly comprehending it.

I need to do much better than that, but I'm on the right track already, at least. With proper mental preparation, I already am able to identify logical flaws in my dream environment. That's step 1. Now I've got to move beyond mere recognition and into comprehension. If I can get that far, I'll almost certainly really truly become lucid again, as long as I can keep the dream stable. I'm good with dream control, though, so hopefully that issue won't raise its ugly head

I'll be heading to bed here fairly soon; will report back sometime tomorrow with whatever dreams I recall!

    14. Two Dreams About "A"

      by , 02-07-2011 at 06:58 AM
Both these dreams were intensely romantic without being sexual. The first one was in late November or early December 2010. Several people at work were all standing near my desk having a bit of a heated discussion. "A" and I frequently work together to get things done and often have to deal with attitudes from these other people. We were both starting to become a little stressed over the behavior of these other co-workers when suddenly, "A" comes over to me and we give each other the most loving and tender hug, better than any I've had in real life.
This 2nd dream was on December 9, 2010 (yeah, I remember the date!). This time "A" is standing behind me with his arms around me. In the dream we'd both come to the realization that we want to be together but in real life, we are both married to other people. He also has 2 children. Suddenly, he put his head down on my shoulder and started to cry. I knew he was crying because of what a divorce would do to his children and his relationship with them (they are very young). I reached up and touched his face and said "Don't worry, "A." Everything is going to be OK." End of dream.

    15. Sharks

by , 02-07-2011 at 06:42 AM (Just Another Dream Journal)
I dreamed of swimming and being attacked by a shark. It bit off a body part (?) and another shark rescued me. I had to have a shark blood transfusion lol. I later told someone of the attack, but I didn't have any marks on my chest where the shark grabbed me so I became lucid for a moment.
I also dreamed of shopping and something about the RV.
My memory is very fragmented because I woke up much too quickly.

I think I dreamed of poop again. It seems to be a recurring theme. Yes, I did... I dreamed I popped out a little turd and it squished against my butt and undies and I was VERY grossed out but couldn't think of a way to excuse myself gracefully.
My subconscious is TRYING to tell me something. I've had similar dreams for about a month now. I need to remind my brain that I don't handle subliminal messages very well so it needs to just TELL me what the frick it wants me to know. Cause I'm just not "getting it".
