    1. Giant Monsters

      by , 08-25-2017 at 06:02 PM (Journals From The Void)
      I am one of four or five people on a series of islands inhabited by monsters. I vaguely remember a small monster destroying my plane as I flew over the islands. I look out into the distance and see two monsters fighting each other, in the ocean surrounding the island. One is a grayish black monster with four black crystals jutting out in the four diagonals on its back. It seemed to be made entirely of rock, and was somewhat rounded in shape. The monster it was fighting was an all white monster seemingly made primarily of bones, with its arm bones transitioning into spear-like structures as opposed to hands. It was lanky in figure, giving me the impression that it was fast. I estimated them to be around 5-7 stories tall, with the white monster slightly taller than the gray monster. The oldest survivor suggested we cross to the nearest island to find a way to escape the monsters.

      We arrive at a small, sandy peninsula at the edge of the island. There are smaller versions of the monsters from earlier there, fighting each other still. Instead of 5-7 stories tall, these were only five times as large as me in the dream. The rock monster notices me. It charges at me in the middle of the fight, nearly killing me with a single attack. It goes back after the white bone monster, attacking, dodging an attack, and charging back after me. I somehow dodged, climbed onto the top left crystal on its back, and, drawing the sword I apparently had, I stab the rock monster. I don't remember how, but it was defeated by a single attack. Luckily, the bone monster was also gone.

      The group had already crossed the small divide between the islands. Now it was my turn. I knew that the water was dangerous, because the monsters had a tendency to show up more in the water. As I entered the water, suspenseful music began to play. I reached the shallow part of the other side of the divide before I woke up.

      The dream was really cool, but not very meaningful. It was really exciting though, and there was a good, large amount of dream content there.

    2. The Sea In The Sky

      by , 07-08-2017 at 08:17 PM (Journals From The Void)
      I've been gone for awhile, but I'm back. On to the dream!

      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      There is no reason as to how or why, but I win a ticket to go on a blimp heading for the clouds. I enter the blimp, and nothing interesting happened on the blimp, so my brain skips it.

      I end up in a gift store surrounded by a vast ocean of clouds. I see people riding around on what looked like jetskis that could go under(cloud?) riding around outside in the clouds. The gift store also has clouds inside it, up to about knee level. Wading through clouds, I encounter a fish guy. My dream cuts out befriending him, but it turns out that he is the ruler of the cloud area. It feels like many days had passed since I arrived in the cloud area. The ruler, whose name I never learned, had become good friends with me.

      I am taken to what appears to be a observatory of some kind, with openings in clouds allowing us to see the surface. There are a few teabags sandwiched between filters, each group with a name on them. One of the groups had my name on it. Without being told, I knew that, for some reason, the teabags represented the life force of the corresponding human.

      The ruler explains to me that he planned to flood the Earth, leaving only humans he trusted to survive. I ask about why he would want to do that, and there's a flashback.

      It was the ruler as a child, playing with a fish twice his size. "Where I come from, all creatures were equal," he explains. A net catches his fish friend. "However, you humans would treat those different from you as scum, even among your own species. It's disgusting. I must remove such disgusting creatures from existence, before they infect other worlds with their hate."

      I attempt to negotiate with him, but fail. Out of anger, he sends me back to the surface (instantly), and I end up next to the blimp again. Just as I prepare to get on the blimp to stop him, I wake up.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      This dream stood out to me for many reasons. Firstly, it had a really coherent plot. The only weird things that stuck out to me when I woke up were how life force was represented by teabags and that I somehow was sent instantly to the surface. Also, it makes you wonder; if there were a civilization in the clouds, are their drinks in cloud form?

      Secondly, I genuinely felt all the emotions, and most of the sensations, which is the first time I can remember that happening in a dream. It felt real.
    3. Reinvigorated

      by , 12-22-2016 at 04:22 AM (Journals From The Void)
      So, I've not been on DV recently, as I was going through some important family stuff. However, I'm back with a story about my first full, and intentional lucid experience. It felt about 3 hours long, but, as I didn't have my DJ nor Internet, and it happened 3 days ago, I'm only able to remember some bits.

      ************************************************** ***********

      I don't remember the first portion of it, but I spontaneously plug my nose to do a reality check. I can breathe. What a strange feeling, breathing through a plugged nose. I realize I'm dreaming and attain mild lucidity. First and foremost, I try to fly, naturally. I fall flat on my face. I'm standing up again, and remember reading somewhere that a good way to fly in a dream was to hop, expecting your jumps to get higher and higher as you go. I try it, but my jumping size doesn't increase.

      'No matter,' I think to myself. I decide to explore. I don't remember anything else up until seeing the glass building a while later. I imagine that it's a dungeon and rush inside, and I am greeted with none other than the pits of hell. There's a save point, and I recognize that I'm dreaming again, 'catching' my falling lucidity by doing the same reality check, and admiring the hell-room.

      The dream restarts, and I do the exact same things, except without lucidity. It restarts again, and I am lucid once again. I head down to the same place, except wanting to go past it this time. However, to my surprise, a rich guy is standing on some boxes with a megaphone, advertising the dungeon. I was angered, and woke up.

      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      So yeah, that was fun. I'm glad I didn't wake up instantly, though I wish I had taken more time to check out the surroundings. It was also interesting that it restarted not once, but twice.
    4. The island of bees

      by , 11-28-2016 at 10:32 PM (Journals From The Void)
      A fun little dream about resolving the conflicts of an island of bees. Also, couldn't be on recently due to family stuff.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      It starts off with me and a group of friends sailing, when we see an island with orange pillars. We decide to check it out, and land at the shore. When we were closer, it was obvious that the pillars were giant honeycombs, arranged in the shape of a maze. Just off the shore, there are giant rocks.
      A bee flies by, before noticing me.
      "Intruders!" It shouted.
      A cloud of bees formed. Instead of sailing away like smart people, we ran through the honeycombs. We paid no mind to the walls, running through them, breaking them. After running for a while, we fell off a sudden cliff. The bees were no longer pursuing us, and no one had been injured.
      Night fell. We lit a campfire and chatted for a while. The scene shifts. A blue bee appears in front of me. It began to speak.
      "Hello, would you mind helping us defeat our enemies?"
      The scene shifts. We're back at the shore, but the honeycombs are turning blue. We had succeeded in helping the blue bees defeat the normal bees. We leave the island, bidding farewell to the blue bees.
      I wake up.
    5. A Dream of the Strange Ocean
      by , 11-15-2016 at 09:57 PM (Journals From The Void)
      Hey. It's been almost a month since I last logged into DreamViews. My computer's hinge and frane broke, so I couldn't use it. Until today, that is, as I remembered that DV does have mobile access. So, this is my return statement, and a neat little dream from ~2 days ago.
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      It starts on an island. This island is nothing special; just a bunch of hills, a few farms, and a beach to the north, cliffs being on all other sides. I am dreaming in first person, for the first time in several months.
      I am on the beach, looking out into the ocean. It's a sunny day, but fog lingers in the distance. I remember it having always been like this. As I stare into the fog, the border of the world as I knew it, I saw a figure- an island. I rushed to my village.
      "Everybody, look, out there! It's another world!" I shouted.
      People followed me to the beach. The figure was gone.
      "There's nothing there! You liar" I heard someone yell.
      The people walked back to the village. Overcome by aggrivation, I swim out into the ocean. Before getting far, I encounter a boat. It seemed abandoned, so I climbed on. To my surprise, there was a creature on the ship. It was a purple alien squid with a glass brain case.
      *Fuzzy bits about shenanigans with the creature*
      I land on the island. There, another squid creature has a port, and offers to build a ship for me. And a game menu appears. (A large portion of my dreams seem like they are video games at some point. A good 65% of the ones I'm able to remember, actually.)
      I design the ship, but I can't remember what it looked like. However, I screwed up. I pressed the undo button, but it only worked twice. Out of frustration, I say "Screw It! I'll just use a pre-made one!"
      The pre-made ship pops out into the ocean. The skies are clear now, and I see dozens of other islands; one with a giant beanstalk that stretche out forever; a bland swamp; A cluster of mountains; A stereotypical skull-shaped cove; the list goes on and on.
      Scene shifts to a creepy forest with two friends, one of them driving a four-wheeler. It's still the same dream though; I remember wondering how I got there from the ship building place (an opportunity to take lucidity, that I'm almost certain would have succeeded had I been on DV for the previous month). I attempt (and fail) to scare the friend driving.
      I wake up.
    6. 2 Dreams; Similar but not the Same.
      by , 10-15-2016 at 04:58 PM (Journals From The Void)
      Had 2 Dreams last night. However, they seemed to follow the same story unintentionally, so I'll be putting them in this one DJ entry. Both of these dreams were fun, and both focused on me fighting this 'sage,' as the DC's called it. The Sage was an evil cannibalistic person who could use magic of some kind.
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Dream 1
      It starts off with a few members of the marching band deciding to practice next to a really steep cliff, with a jagged, rocky 'wall.' A dust explosion occurs in the distance. A shadowy figure flies towards me, and I couldn't make out the details or features. He hits me, and I end up hitting a rock. The figure charges towards me again, but I jump off the rock just before he hits me. As I fall, I see an explosion of dust where I had just jumped back from, and the figure once again charges at me. A blue slime pops out of my sleeve and connects me to a sky tram placed in a very convenient, although sensible, location, connected to the top of the cliff and somewhere I didn't care to look. the slime pulls me to it just in time to dodge, and I end up crashing through the wall. My face hurts and my left arm was sore. While I was laying down, I saw a person, encased in stone and with red eyes and two nubs of horns growing from his forehead flying up to look at me as the tram moved away slowly. He didn't give chase. I wake up.
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      A brief awakening and missed dream signs
      When I am awake, I feel pins and needles on my face, and my shoulder is somewhat sore. I prepare to do a DEILD, but fail when my dog starts licking my face, making me open my eyes. So I decide to think about missed opportunities to become lucid.
      Dream Signs
      1) Cliffs rarely form away from oceans, and I don't think there are any around my location.
      2) The grass was to dense and lush.
      3) A flying man attacks and no one flees.
      4) I survive the first attack.
      5) I dodge the second attack.
      6) I have a pet Blue Slime. (I genuinely want one now that I've had that fun dream, though.)
      7) Convenient Sky Tram keeps me from being hurt again.
      8) This Dude can Fly.
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Dream 2
      I am running back from the guy who I saw in the first dream. Only, he's fat and eating people in my school. People are saying "he's the sage, here to save us all," and similar things. I shout "Can't you see he's EATING PEOPLE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" People just stare at me like I'm crazy. I dodge past my short section leader, who is taller than me in this dream, and see my other section leader, who's normally taller than me, but is my height in this dream. He's not in the line to get eaten, so I figure he's at least one person with common sense remaining.
      "Hey, you see that guy eating people?" He says.
      "Yeah, I think he might be evil," I respond.
      "OHHHH!" He says, surprised.
      Like an idiot, he gets in line. 'Whatever,' I think to myself as I take shelter in the cafeteria. The cafeteria is round, and missing 60 degrees of wall. The fat 'Sage' flies over to me. The remainder of the lines seemed to come to their senses and entered the cafeteria too. All of a sudden, I remember the previous fight. The sage grabs a butter knife and... stabs his left eye. He becomes skinny and lots of copies of him are made. Blue Slime turns into a sword, and there's a bit of tension. I wake up.
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Dream Signs
      1) There was a fat flying guy.
      2) All these people were ignorant of their imminent deaths.
      3) The halls were completely different from my real school's halls
      4) The lunch room was missing 60 degrees of wall, and was a perfect circle.
      5) The sage stabbed himself in the eye with a butter knife.
      6) The sage's clones came out of his eye.
    7. Food commercials sequentially bash each other!
      by , 10-13-2016 at 02:50 PM (Journals From The Void)
      This dream was hilarious upon waking up.
      It starts with a McDonald's commercial. Four people are sitting there talking about their first kiss. One of them stands up. "My first kiss wasn't a person; it was a thing." The words also appeared (with perfect grammar and spelling, might I add) on a yellow background, with 'person' and 'thing' in green, and the rest of them red. A young version of the guy is dared to kiss a wax sculpture of skinny Ben Franklin (honestly, he was really skinny. If he were alive, it would be considered unhealthy.), and he does. Ben's wax eyes dart about, worried(?). Employees laugh and give him a free meal.
      Announcer: "kiss a wax statue at McDonald's and get a free meal!"
      All of a sudden, there's pizza in the background.
      A Little Caeser's Announcer: "you know, they never get their burgers to look or taste nearly as good as they do in commercials. I wouldn't even eat one for free! Especially the bread. That's why we never give out burgers. We keep our bread on the side or the bottom, and cook it thoroughly before it enters your mouth hole. Something about hot n' ready pizza too!(He literally said 'something about hot n' ready pizza too!')
      Now the background is white.
      Arby's announcer: "there's a certain pizza company, who will remain nameless, who claims to give you pizza 'Hot And Ready.' When you say my pizza will be hot AND ready, I expect it to be at least one of those things. But you know what? It never is. Arby's. We have the meats."
      I wake up laughing and sort of confused. I wasn't at all hungry when I went to sleep, but these commercials were funny, and seem like things these food chains would actually do to 'bash' one another. It was hilarious.
    8. A slightly racist fish dream!
      by , 10-05-2016 at 01:25 AM (Journals From The Void)
      Pretty cool little vivid dream I enjoyed last night. If you are easily offended though, this dream is a bit racist at parts. Not too racist though.
      -------------———------------------------------------------------------------------
      The whole world is submerged in water, and humans don't have any trouble living there.
      I enter a building shaped like a museum of some kind. It's a movie theater. When I enter the water-free building, the national anthem plays, and a holographic bald eagle flies by me. I sit down and the holographic movie plays. I have no further memory of the movie
      When I leave, I walk past a few people who are band mates IRL. They are sitting in line for the movie. I go to the parking lot (yes, there are cars), and see a large black man. Out of racism fear, I hide behind a pillar for safety. When he walks by me, I see that he's just fat.
      "Why you hiding?" He asked.
      "Sorry, you looked a lot more dangerous from far away," I respond.
      He walks off to enter the line, offended.
      I swim off the edge of the platform that the building was nested on. As I do, I am approached by one of my band mates.
      "Hey, check this out!" They said.
      A screen appears in front of my face. It has a picture of a large, hollow, yellow, cucumber-shaped plant with violet petals around the top portion that contained a hole. In the hole was bubbling, green syrup. Below the image, it said 'gives consumer a 17.21x speed boost.'
      "So cool!" I remarked.
      Suddenly, a brown and purple striped, rocky-skinned fish swam by, which I scanned somehow. Later, while looking at my scanned fish, I saw two evolutions of it; one with one large plate behind its head, and one with the same plate, only divided into thirds by large gaps.
      Regarding the one with gaps, I said "It looks very Japanese."
    9. A Black Hole is Just A Mechanical Ball?
      by , 09-28-2016 at 09:54 PM (Journals From The Void)
      I am a scientist; short, and dressed in a white lab coat.
      My basement is a concrete laboratory in which I am testing wormholes. The black hole is generated. I throw a penny into it in order to see if it works, my eyes fixated on the camera I had set up at a location in the desert. A wormhole appears, just as I suspected, and consumes all the sand in the area, and I notice a single penny come out of the wormhole. All of a sudden, sand fills my basement; the black hole dissipated into some weird black mechanical ball with buttons. I barely manage to escape with the strange device without being suffocated. After splitting the ball, a massive, complex, and utterly green wireframe is revealed.
      "I... I solved all of humanity's problems!" I shouted, laughing.
      An unspecified many years later, there is a space station with the words, "<my name that you probably don't know> memorial: a History of Faster Than Light Travel," engraved on a sign attached to the top(according to my perspective) of the space station. After that, it's a rather slow fade back into reality
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      I'm glad I had this dream; it taught me a lot about the desire I had apparently hidden deep in my subconscious, away from even myself. Specifically, the thirst that I only knew about after having this dream, the deep, utterly human desire to be recognized with respect from doing something that I love to do. I don't generally like any attention, but this dream made me realize that, even I , the silent little weirdo who would always distance myself from others, wanted to be recognized, no matter how much I believe otherwise.
