    1. Fun with Rockets and Alien Spaceships

      by , 05-02-2020 at 07:27 AM
Morning of May 1, 2020. Friday.

Dream #: 19,492-02. Reading time (optimized): 1 min 30 sec.

My dream’s foundation is a result of imaginary somatosensory modulation, but atypical. (I often cup my hand around a vertical bar of the head of our bed for this.) Ordinarily, I summon an egg to increase a dream’s illusory sense of touch (other than in a later rendering of a dream’s timeline when it is more often coins), the reason being that an egg is a perfect size to focus on the area of my palm and the underside of my fingers when I cup my hand. This type of modulation is usually in an indoor setting. However, in this instance, there is a precursory vestibular perception that results in the common sky-watching scenario, though in this case, it is seemingly in the late morning rather than before dawn.

Over time, I see a flying saucer high in the sky. Many other people are around in a mostly featureless field. I focus on creating small rockets to blow up any spaceships.

The exponential increase in my dream’s illusory sense of touch stems from the middle of a small rocket first materializing in my cupped right hand. The top and bottom of the miniature missile telescope from each side, coming into existence with minimal effort in my summoning the feature. It is partially reminiscent of a toy plastic rocket I had as a boy that comes apart in sections.

I mentally cause the missile to ignite and leave my hand to destroy a flying saucer. Even though it is less than a foot long, I have a close view of when it reaches the spacecraft (as if looking through a virtual telescope). I enjoy the explosion (as I usually do in this mode of dreaming).

Over time, as more spaceships appear, I indulge in the same activity, several times, enjoying my pointless entertainment. I experiment with different visualizations and anticipation of the results. At one point, I send my rocket to a feature with the resemblance of a rocket booster (similar to the rectangular aft skirts in some science-fiction movies). From there, the rocket goes inside the middle of the spacecraft to blow it up.

I ordinarily only end up doing things like this when I lose interest in sustaining sleep for longer, concerning creating a new dream scenario.

    2. 18-12-23 Holding Off Alien Invasion

      by , 01-04-2019 at 09:53 PM
I'm on some kind of giant (city-sized) floating airship. Aliens are invading the world below. I send off my wife and kid on some kind of dropship to get to safety, while I stay behind. Unfortunately, an alien tripod shows up and uses its heatray to blow up the dropship as it flies away. I didn't have time to mourn, because the aliens hit my airship next. There was an explosion, and I fell down. I managed to hold onto some rubble, but lost my grip fell down anyway. I was falling, and thought I was screwed. But before I hit the ground, I suddenly floated. It was instantly like I'd been 'awakened', I knew I could fly and do immense damage to the enemy. I flew towards the tripod that attacked us. I grabbed jungle liana (those rope-like things hanging from trees in the jungle) and flew in circles around the tripod until its legs were tied together and it fell. Like in Star Wars. When that tripod was down, I flew off north towards the big city. The city was under attack by several tripods. I took them out by flying into them from above and smashing them down to the ground. I think I single-handedly stopped the offensive on the city. I think I talked with some military commanders afterwards about the battle. Personally, I didn't really care about saving humanity. I only felt seething hatred for the aliens who killed my (non-existent) loved ones.

    3. Fighting off Alien Invasion and Alligator Dogs with Calea Z

      by , 08-23-2017 at 02:55 PM
07-18-2017 -- (2nd successful [to a point] use of Calea Z.) I took Calea Z last night, and it did not give me a super case of insomnia, as usual, to prevent me from being able to get any sort of sleep, and therefore prevent any sort of dreams. Instead I took it along with a dose of melatonin to encourage sleep. Slept for about four hours, woke briefly, could remember nothing, fell back asleep. Slept for about three hours, woke briefly, and could barely remember any fragments. Went back to sleep for perhaps another two hours, and woke with a fairly involved and interesting dream that included some (slightly muted) bright colors. While it was a quite cool dream that was well worth having, no idea how much of it may be attributed to the Calea Z, or whether it was random chance, and the Calea Z had no effect what-so-ever. It can be compared to my one previous successful Calea Z dream, here.

As always, starts somewhat fragmenty, with faded bits that can't be remembered. I think I am traveling somewhere, almost by accident, while trying to plan out future travels. Hints of some sort of large ghost tiger or something, but I simply can't pin down that part. There is a somewhat small, thin, waif-ish red haired girl who a lot of people are pushing around and insulting a bit. I'm trying to gently defend her a bit here and there. It feels like we're on a bit of a river boat sort of thing, and I may have won some kind of prize in a contest or something, but it is really small, and I am not worried about it.

Anyway, I think I am trying to plan a trip to England and Scotland, more than actually be on it, but somehow I am there. I am in Scotland, in line to board some kind of ride. We are boarding colorful carriages of the sort that Cinderella might take to a ball, except that these are horseless, and 12 or 14 of them are kind of linked up to form a bit of a train. We've been waiting a while, and two of these trains have loaded up and rode off, and we're likely to make it on the third, but it is taking it's time. The tracks seem to be used by multiple trains, as there are cargo trains coming the other way, and people are getting ready to ride them, but I'm pointing out those obviously are not the same trains, and are going the wrong direction, and they aren't stopping for us anyway.

The trains are taking a curve just past us, and heading into a warehouse area, but each successive train is becoming larger and taking the curve at a higher speed, while being even more off-balance (one seems to have a massive weight hanging off to one side as it makes the turn, and it feels almost inevitable that the weight is going to fly off and crash down on us). The next train has something even larger attached, but it is on a sort of boom or something, and is being spun around in circles two or three times like it is building up speed to throw it, and things just feel scary.

By this time we're standing in a sort of open air station. There is only half a metal roof, and the place is open to the elements, and suddenly we hear this loud BANG! Another half a metal roof has just been dropped on the station by the train, which seems to be half-construction-boom, and I am wondering why they think it is a good idea to do this kind of thing while people are in the station. They continue working, and there is a lot more banging, but I think somebody has got something wrong, because suddenly the back corner of the building and the new roof are collapsing. People are screaming, and potentially being crushed, and Robert Bradford (who I was standing next to, and who I was hoping wouldn't realize I was one of the ones who was screaming) is in the process of setting up a lawsuit for the victims of this tragic accident.

I am unharmed, and am kind of walking away, when I hear a sort of thrashing sound. Behind me, in an area I was just walking past, is a large something that I can't make out. Then it moves, and I can focus on it clearly. It is a large alligator or crocodile that has just crawled out of a waterway. I'm not too concerned with it, as it is several yards away, but it moves directly for me, and seems to be remarkably fast. So I keep putting things between us, but it either swats them away with its tail or its mouth, or it just crawls over the top of low things, and keeps coming after me. Soon I'm in a narrow alleyway, trying to find a way to chimney up the walls, and hoping alligators can't climb walls, calling for help and crying out "Alligator!" At least at one point, I've got my arms wrapped around its jaws, trying to keep it from being able to open or close its mouth.

Eventually some sort of animal handler comes up and starts interacting with it, and he seems to know what he's doing, and the alligator seems to be shrinking, and turning into some strange sort of alligator/dog hybrid that is now about the size of a beagle, and kind of cute, and still following me around. At this point, our 'train' has finally come, and I've climbed on one of the back cars, and the alligator/dog is on the very last car, still trying to follow me. I'm backing off, but am no longer sure I want to escape the thing. Suddenly it looks like it is trying to go to the bathroom, and it sort of poops on a pile of canned goods, but the poop starts to move. It seems like the thing just gave birth to a bunch of baby alligator/dogs that are all less than an inch long, and almost look like slimy little tadpoles.

Meanwhile, some woman is trying to get my attention. She looks like Mr. Sturgeon's secretary from the Bruno & Boots movies, and she seems to be in charge around here, and she is going on about that contest I won earlier, and how I have to take responsibility for my prize, and not just walk off like I did, earlier. It turns out I have won some land here in Scotland, and though it is only a small amount of land (I think three houses stand on it) it is enough to make me the smallest and least powerful or influential Lord in the land, which could be slightly cool.

The problem is, several of the people around us are still mumbling about the small, slightly cute, unjustly picked on red haired girl. The woman snaps out something about how we need to get over it, she's just a Jew, and those of us who were trying to help her are horrified by this, especially since the poor girl is being held in her friend's arms, dying of a combination of the abuse she has received, and a broken heart.

I am determined to do something about this, and walk away from the lady again, to lay hands on the girl's forehead. I'm not all that great of a person, but I know there have been times in the past that God has used me to heal, when it had nothing to do with me, but just a desire to help someone else. I start praying over the girl, and all her friends join me. We are pointing out how nice she is, and how sweet, and how much she spends her time helping others, and praying for God's healing and blessing over her, while the lady who'd just made the unfriendly comment is arguing that she "didn't mean it that way!"

By this point, I've kissed the girl's brow, and she seems to be regaining her strength and mass, and is doing better by the minute. She's actually kind of cute, and I'm hoping she might need a boyfriend, but it turns out the reason she was brokenhearted was because she was romantically interested in this short Hispanic kid, and her step-parents wouldn't accept it, which is why they were abusing her and allowing others to do the same. Yup, she was a literal red-headed step-child! Unfortunately, he is backing away, and wants nothing to do with her. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, figuring he may not want her to get beaten anymore, but if that isn't his reason, I'm seriously thinking of giving him a good, solid thrashing!

About this time, I am distracted by a tanker truck flying by through the air. It has somehow been mounted on a plane or something, and it is some sort of terrorist attack. It is being flown and dropped on a half-distant air field, and we see it dropping down over the horizon, then a loud boom, billows of dust rising, and slowly a mushroom cloud forming. Wherever we are, we are very close to Cinderella's Castle, and it has been bombed as well, and towers are collapsing in flames. There are enemy planes in the sky, and more bombs being dropped.

Suddenly I find myself facing a classic cartoon-style bomb just floating in the air in front of me, a bizarre, muted ultra-violet orange and green. I'm trying to figure out if it is friend or foe, but eventually realize it is some sort of small personal fighter, waiting for its pilot. There are a lot of dead people around, so I climb on and start to try and get my balance. Steve Koffroth climbs on another next to me, and I steady it (and him) until he's got it under control, then let it go. Two young kids come flying up to under their own power (not using ships or anything) and I am kind of staring at them, until I realize. "You're dead?" I ask them. They nod. It seems they were caught in some of the first blasts. Now their spirits are volunteering to inhabit our space crafts to kind of bring them to life and help to control them, as the pilots who have been trained to fly them are not available, and they were never properly activated.

So their spirits merge with our crafts, and we grab up some of the odd green and orange machine guns, and fly off to face the enemies. The invaders turn out to be some sort of Oriental people, though I do not know which ones, and they've now got lots of troops running around with machine guns, while our flying missiles seem to have run out of energy, so we're mostly grounded. We find ourselves trapped in a large warehouse-like building with a bunch of the gun wielding enemies, and our weapons don't seem to really work ... or do they? They only seem to shoot tiny, dim beams of light. They seem to cut right through robots, destroying them easily, but seem to make almost no wounds to regular people's heads.

But slowly I'm noticing something strange. People who are screaming to kill us one second, after I shoot them in the head, are commanding that we be captured ... then released. "What? We can't do th..." BANG! "... Sir, yes sir!" We're somehow turning them to our side, while still having to hide from those who have not yet been turned, who are still shooting at us with machine guns. Again, we're running through warehouses. At one point, somebody opens up fire on me, while I hide behind boxes which are being blown apart, as I try to fly a path through the boxes to reach the next floor, while being shot as little as possible. Very interesting and fun, overall.
    4. 16-08-13 Alien Dinosaur Invasion

      by , 08-21-2016 at 12:19 AM
I was in a room full of computers. Aliens were invading outside. An alien tried to get inside through an open window. I closed it with force, hurting the creature as its hand/paw got stuck. It yelped in pain.

I ran through the building, which looked like a dilapidated garage or factory, possibly with my mother. The aliens were small-ish velociraptors (the previous breed looked far more humanoid), and by "small" I still mean a meter (3 feet) tall. One of the beasts bit my arm, and I was stuck for a moment. I managed to wiggle free, and noticed I wasn't really hurt.

Once outside, I noticed a lot of computers in a circular configuration. They looked like the consoles we used in the chemical plant where I used to work. I noticed animals from various species congregating near the consoles, and I followed. I understood that was Earth's "last stand", and that all Terrestrial species would stand together against the alien menace. Major figures were William Fichtner (I skimmed through my dream the day before, and read about an earlier dream in which he appeared - this clearly triggered his presence here), and Michelle Rodriguez (looking badass as usual).
    5. 16-07-18 Alien First Encounter, Superhero Punchout, The Time War

      by , 07-18-2016 at 03:03 PM
I was once again in my old family house. There was an alien in the basement, and I knew it. The basement door was still closed, but I knew it was going to come out. I opened my camera app on my phone. I wanted to record it - footage of the "first encounter" would make me rich and famous. My mom came out the hallway, and I warned her to get out of the way, as the alien was coming. It burst out of the basement. It was dark green in color, almost spherical, and quite slimy. It had a few teeth in its wide mouth, but not very large ones - they didn't look too practical for eating meat. And eyes that were far too small for it's big, headless shape (it was basically just a fat green torso with no head). I thought it was scared, as it shrieked and rushed past me at great speed and, I think, disappeared into the garden - into the night. It covered me in goo as it flew past. I got some good footage, though! That night, I slept on some blankets on the floor, alone in the living room - close to the garden door. My mom slept upstairs. At some point, I noticed my cat (Fleurtje) was acting weird. She ignored me completely, and if I approached her, she hissed and attacked. She bit me in the finger at one point, and almost broke it! I had to struggle to get her off of me. I "knew" that the alien had bodysnatched my cat. Or had morphed into my cat, like the monster from "The Thing". Then, it was my other cat, Sylvester. I rushed upstairs to warn my mother. To my amazement, even that incident wasn't enough to convince me to sleep upstairs.

The camera moved through a wide corridor or tunnel, and showed a lot of Marvel superheroes fighting out a massive free-for-all battle. They looked a little generic, with cheap costumes. Clearly stand-ins. I thought to myself that the rest of the franchise would be full of retcons, as they couldn't possibly stick to these cheap looking actors and costumes. Anyway, I was now standing by one of the heroes, clearly a main character. We were confronted by another, who had yellow glowy eyes that either drove you mad if you looked into them, or just killed you. Fortunately, my buddy revealed that he was blind. He had these (also almost glowy), milky-white eyes. I was more interested in my surrounding world. I saw the skyline of the city. Extremely modern, almost futuristic-looking skyscrapers. Massive flags hung by their sides, some red, some blue. The red flags looked like the German flag during World War 2, but with the Canadian Maple Leaf logo instead of the German cross. The blue flags had a star I think. I figured this was Canada, either in the future, or in another universe (or both). I yelled to the heroes that I suspected Canada had become Nazi.

There were a lot of events in this dream universe preceding these events. The general plot was this: the world was at war with aliens, creatures resembling the Necromorphs from Dead Space (perhaps the same bastards I encountered in my first dream?). The war was not going well at all. To make matters even more weird, time was bent "onto itself", and our war in 2016 was now happening at the same time as World War 2. The future and past had been merged. I was in conversation with two high-ranking individuals of the US military. One looked like actor Zeljko Ivanek (Blake Sterling in The Event, Danko in Heroes), the other was a taller man with short, light-grey hair. Both generals, probably - judging by their uniforms. Ivanek told me we were to avoid interfering with the events of World War 2 as much as possible. He asked if I remembered a previous operation, in which operatives came in contact with people and events from that war. I said yes. He handed me an envelope, containing what I think was an item (an old fashioned skeleton key?). Inscribed on it was a date relating to a historic event of the war. Ivanek said that after the mission, the date had changed - implying that the operatives had accidentally changed the timing of a major event of that war. I noticed Ivanek's skin was a strange tone of green. Anyhow, I think we were on an important mission, possible a last ditch effort to end the war against the aliens in our favor. I remember clumsily climbing through a window to get outside and link up with the others (?).

    6. Sangheili Invasion of Earth (EUIV)

by , 06-25-2014 at 11:27 AM (The Redeeming Dreamer)
I remember many Elites, from Halo. They seem to have invaded Earth. There was one in particular with blue armor that was focused on a lot. I guess he was the main character. He was talking about eating humans and such. His bottom left mandible also started talking. The elite said, "I can't eat all those humans," or something like that. The mandible then said, "But I can." I then remember a screen of EUIV where the Elites were taking over all of Europe during the Early Modern Era. They seemed to be the color of Tuscany. After that, I remember a sort of elite (Sangheili) party at a mansion somewhere. Maybe it was a pun on elite, because it was also during the Early Modern Era. I saw some sangheilis talking to each other. They were talking about eating humans, also.
    7. Alien Invasion and a Limp Machete

      by , 03-17-2014 at 04:08 AM
I actually had this dream last week, so it's a fairly recent one. My nightmares have been less and less as the years have gone by but this one is a bit morbid so yeah...you're forewarned.

I was with my immediate family vacationing. Somehow my stepdad and sister had gotten injured. I didn't know how, all I knew was that we were in a doctor's office trying to get them patched up. My stepdad had a toe amputated and my sister had a gash on her side that was bleeding heavily. The dream started out with this and actually didn't focus much on this part.

They got their wounds treated and we left, driving along the freeway to our next destination. There were many cars around us and the environment was city-like, slowly turning into a suburban area. The landscape was fairly flat so we could see the sky pretty clearly. It started off as a normal blue sky with a few dusting of clouds and then all of a sudden it changed. If you've ever seen the picture someone photoshopped of what it would look like if Earth had rings like Saturn, this was it. Large rings appeared over the sky and stretched over the horizon. At first they reflected beautiful sunset colors, oranges, reds, pinks, and yellows (Red and yellow appear in my dreams a lot). It was quite magnificent to see and a little overwhelming. It steadily became brighter and then the lights went out of the rings and the sky began to darken. That was when large ships flew overhead and people started to panic.

For a bit it was like watching a series of trailer clips. It was just me and my mom now in the car stuck on the freeway of cars. At first we were driving, then we were stopped with the rest of traffic while tall square-like cyborgs walked around the cars, leaning to peer in at the terrified people within. I didn't get a really good look at them so I couldn't give you a detailed description of what the aliens looked like. They were tall though. I remember that.

The scene changed again and my mom and I were driving on a highway, nearing a more rural area of forests and mountains. I personally didn't think she was driving fast enough and was about to tell her to let me drive. A bunch of motel like cabins came into view and halted my actions. We stopped by the road and a group of people were at the entrance. A woman told us that the direction we were headed in had been taken over by the aliens. We were trapped. She told us we could bunk in her cabin and we agreed.

The cabins were a mix of different people, but most were kind enough and doing their best to help the other survivors. However, a couple of them looked like escaped convicts. One of them was a large burly man with long dark unkempt hair and a beard. He had taken to attacking some of the younger women in residence. I don't know if he did it discreetly or if people were too afraid of him to do anything about it. Unfortunately, my subconscious decided I needed to be a fly on the wall for one of his attacks. Obviously, I was disgusted and pissed because I couldn't do anything to help her.

When he tried to attack me one of my favorite video game characters (Fenris from Dragon Age 2) appeared and scared him off. Fenris was worried for my safety and wanted to stay with me to protect me. I thanked him for his help but told him I'd be okay on my own. He told me to at least carry a knife with me wherever I went. I agreed and strapped a Bowie to my thigh. Right after that the man came for me again, but this time I was completely alone. Enraged I pulled out my knife, only to have it turn into a saw-like machete that was as limp as a whip. As frustrated as I was that didn't stop me from beating the ever lovin' shit out of him. Finally he lay bloody and broken in a heap at my feet. He looked properly ashamed and guilty of his actions. He did ask me if the terror from the alien invasion could have caused his mind to break and make him attack those women. Icily, I told him that the invasion probably released what was already there to begin with (If he hadn't been in jail for that reason in the first place.) However, his words did make me stop and think, and I lowered my hand.

Even as he lay there baring his neck to me, accepting his death, I couldn't kill him. 1) Because my machete was limp, and 2) Because he was a broken and beaten man. Mainly he lived because my weapon wouldn't cooperate.

The scene changed to me standing in the double doorway of my cabin, looking out into the darkness towards the other cabins that were lit from within. We were on the second floor. My mom and the woman we were staying with, were in the living room behind me. Then out of the darkness a large shape came lumbering up to me. When the light hit it I saw a large wolf/hyena hybrid creature. He was big, his head almost level with mine. I panicked and tried slamming the wooden doors. He shoved against them and it was a battle of me trying to keep him out. At one point I actually grabbed him by the scruff and threw him back a ways. But he was persistent. Eventually I realized he wasn't trying to hurt me, just get inside. The doors nearly came off their hinges so I gave up and let him in. He sat and gazed at me while I ran my hands through his soft fur. At least I got a furry companion out of it, and a large one at that.

      The End.
    8. Spider-Man at the End of the World

      by , 08-11-2012 at 01:11 AM
07-23-2012 -- I'm just hanging around the Hickory house when I realize it is the end of the world. People are running around, freaking out, yelling, screaming, and trying to connect with people for the last few days of existence, kind of making me think of Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, which I have never seen, but only heard of. That's just the kind of vibe this had.

Soon I find myself at a shopping mall somewhere, probably in Santa Ana or Westminster, or somewhere fairly far from Buena Park. The world is still ending, and everybody is freaking, and I can't leave the place until I can catch the 42 bus. (Really a route I used to ride in the area.) Unfortunately, while dozens of buses come by, none are the 42.

I'm getting more and more annoyed, and there is a cop that is starting to hassle me for some reason. Meanwhile, Wolverine is running down the street jumping from car roof to car roof and damaging them in the process, and I can't help but wonder why the cop doesn't go hassle him, or maybe the Incredible Hulk, who is also rampaging through the area. But no, the guy keeps hassling me. Reminds me of Captain Stacy from the new Spider-Man movie, which makes sense, considering.

Stacy has decided to arrest me and take me in (no idea what for), and he is opening some strange, round vault-like equipment locker that seems to be in a tree or something, and as he is looking for equipment, I spot my web shooters inside it, and grab them. I quickly start to strap them to my wrists, and realize now that I have my web shooters, I no longer need to wait for the 42 route.

Captain Stacy is trying to grab me, and for some reason my web shooters are kind of mis-timing their firing, so I can't web sling nearly as smoothly as I would like. Seems like half the time I try to shoot off a line and nothing happens, so I try again, and both lines fire at the same time, tangling with each other. From the same kind of mishap, I can barely get more than a few feet off the ground for a bit, which makes it a really rather poor escape ... but it works. Kind of.

Soon I have things straightened out a bit more, and am actually swinging around the buildings downtown. (No idea downtown where.) Soon there is a flying saucer chasing me, big enough to be a threat, small enough to be maneuverable, and looking like a classic flying saucer, perhaps like from My Favorite Martian. I'm dodging this way and that, but can't lose them at first. Then I sling myself through a gap in a very large skyscraper, and the aliens decide they will just pick me up on the other side of the building.

But I don't fly through. Instead, I swing toward the full-sized baseball stadium located inside this huge building, and decide to take in the game. I spot a nice, cool pool located right behind home plate with some attractive ladies sunbathing in it, and I launch myself in the air above it. While in freefall I strip off my costume, except for my mask, and plunge into the water. I get a slight bit of a feel of a blonde in a really tiny bikini, then pick up the blonde in the nice charcoal business suit sitting in the pool next to me (yes, full business suit in the pool) and pull her into my lap. If it's the end of the world, forget fighting idiot aliens, I seem to have decided to have some fun!
    9. 01/09/2012 and 01/10/2012 - 1) "Two Left Feet", 2) "Illusionista" [+ Fragment]

      Dream Fragment One
I was boarding a train, but I can't remember where I was supposed to be going. What I did come to find out was that I'd gotten onto the wrong, and the one I was on was heading 'non-stopped' to Australia (which made perfect sense. ). I began to panic a bit, thinking that I was going to be stuck on this train for God knows how long. But, not too far from where we'd boarded, we came to another station, where I was able to hop onto a different train and head back the other way. For some reason (probably because I didn't have a ticket for this new train), I had to share an 'undercarriage' beneath the train - which had about as much room as the space beneath an 18-wheeler's trailer. There were a few other people down there, and we were holding on for dear life, to the small planks that separated us from the train tracks which were whizzing by, beneath us. With the way we had to hold onto the planks, I kept getting nervous that my fingers were going to get caught in the wheels and severed.

      Dream Two
      "Two Left Feet"

I remember being in an apartment complex type of setting. There were a few women there, who were around my age, and a couple of little kids that were running around the area. I was having a lot of fun, playing with the kids, and this one girl - in particular - was really checking me out. She seemed to be watching how I interacted with the kids, and by the huge smile on her face, I could see that she approved. Later, I was at a nightclub and saw her in the crowd. When she noticed me, she grabbed my hand and dragged me to the dancefloor, just as "Ice Ice Baby" came on. We just laughed at how corny the song selection was and danced to it, anyway.

While we were dancing, I kept having problems because it seemed like random things were just cluttering up the dancefloor, and I kept stepping on them. First it was a broom, that had hap-hazzardly made its way onto the floor. Then, once I was able to navigate clumsily around that, I somehow got my foot stuck into a pillow case. What had once been an attempt to dance now simply turned into me trying to get the damned pillowcase off of my foot, to no avail.

      "Illusionista"

There was a crazy alien invasion scenario going on. (Unfortunately, I lost most of the details of the dream.) It was all very intense, and dramatic, with lots of emotional moments between myself and my friends and family. I don't remember too much about the nature of the aliens, themselves, aside from their larval form; they were these small, centipede-like bugs that would burrow into our skin, wherein they would multiply and eventually take over the person's mind, which them became the 'host'. There was an extremely horrific scene in which some of us - myself included - were forced to take knives to our own bodies and cut these parasites out of our flesh (much like in the movie The Ruins), to keep from becoming completely controlled.

Sometime later, I also remember an extremely emotional moment, when I was with my mom, and we were trying to get out of town as the aliens were destroying everything. We were looking back toward the city, and watching an enormous mushroom cloud swell up from where we'd once called home. My mom was sobbing at all we'd lost, and I was trying to console her.

Later, still, we'd come to find out that the entire scenario was an illusion. It was forced upon us by some crazy powerful witch, or something. I can't remember how we'd done it, but we were able to defeat her, and got her locked up in an asylum for the criminally insane. She was being wheeled away on a gurney, and, once she got passed a certain point - and deeper within the bowels of the asylum, she broke free and tried to launch some sort of counter-attack from the inside. She transformed, showing us her true figure, which was human from the torso up, but had the enormous abdomen of an insect. We'd gotten into a final battle, down in a dungeon-esque corner of the building, and were able to inject her with something from a syringe, which made her inhuman abdomen swell up even bigger than it was. Inevitably, it burst, splattering a thick, translucent liquid all over us and the room. After that, though she was still alive, the witch was apparently unable to continue her fight.

      dream : comments : lucid

      17th of January, 2012

Had some failed lucidness early in the night.
I was sleeping and Nooks woke me up saying "it's 9pm, time to wake up!" I was all "Why the shit would you be waking me up at 9pm?" at which point she proceeded to start putting fish on my feet. By that stage I was all "nup, this is stupid, this is obviously a false awakening" and when I did my hand-check I mustn't have been deep enough into the dream and the movement actually woke me up for real. Almost immediately after that I went back to sleep and back into a dream. Not quite a WILD, but I was almost instantly aware. Quasi DEILD, perhaps. Again I was lying asleep except I was a bit deeper in and was this time at a beach. I was in the sand when I woke up again. Did a RC and wasn't dreaming. God damn it!
Back asleep again and THIS time I was still at the beach but could really feel the sand and water. I focussed on sinking into the sand so as to stimulate my senses a bit and really tried focusing on Nooks' face to become hyper-aware. It all sort of worked but then the dream began to fade and I couldn't get it back.
      Ah well. Close.

      -----

I was at some dodgy apartment block and was meeting all the neighbours.

      -----

I was at a birthday party and drinking champagne. Some hippie type girls offered me LSD which I accepted. The acid was on these plastic strips that had different phrases printed on them. The one I took said “Spiders in your mouth”. I half dissolved the strip and suddenly realised I didn’t want to be tripping on acid and remember that it said anything about spiders being in my mouth so I spat it out and asked for another one, which they didn’t let me have. I wanted the one that said "Ice cream".

We went outside where people were drinking and partying in the back yard and I hung around drinking my champagne and having a good time. Presently, I looked up into the sky and was struck with awe. The moon was enormous but different. It was covered in gigantic ice crystals- all perfectly formed like giant snowflakes. The arms of the crystals spread out far into the sky, about twice the diameter of the moon itself. I was totally blown away and ran screaming to the other people to come and have a look. When they came over the crystals had begun dropping off and falling through space towards us. While they fell, they broke into smaller pieces and snowed down on us as snowflakes the size of dinner plates. It was a beautiful experience and I remember turning to Nooks and asking if it was the acid or if it was really happening and she just smiled and nodded before catching one. It was nice.

Later on there was something to do with hot air ballooning in a cave and finding magic mushrooms. That lead into my family having issues with a neighbour shooting arrows into our yard. The neighbour became one of my younger brothers who stabbed one of my other brothers with an arrow and when we told him we would call the police on him he suddenly became really cute and baby-faced. I asked him to apologise and when he did he became a manchild with a seedy ass beard and looked totally creeper. He started apologising in this weird rhyming slang and I decided I hated him.

      -----

Aliens invaded in cool space/aquatic ships. They were all spiky and black. As they landed in the water, huge waves flooded large parts of the city and the street we were on was suddenly awash with buses coming towards us. We narrowly avoided being crushed by the sliding buses and ran up a hill into a park. There, some people offered me cheese and I said, in a very posh voice “no... quite alright thank you” which they scoffed at. I asked if they’d prefer a more bogan approach and said “aw, fuckin’ aliens and shit invading, hey!” then left. We went into a house that had a smaller house inside it and I climbed onto the smaller house’s roof. All of a sudden I realised my teeth were loose and they began to fall out and break apart.

Didn’t do a dream check because apparently I’m an idiot and don’t recognise my own dream signs.

Anyway, I woke up shortly afterwards.

      30th of October, 2010

Humans had settled on Titan and turned it into a holiday destination. I'm not sure it was actually Titan, but that's what we called it and it was some distant moon, so we'll pretend.
We travelled there on this humungous mother ship and when we got off I just lay down and looked at the sky and yelled in utter joy.

This place was spectacular. Amazing. Totally alien yet utterly beautiful.
There were enormous super-highways high in the sky, which in itself was breathtaking; a hazy yellowish green with a constant red tinge. The selling point was the fact that this was a moon, and as such an enormous potion of the sky was filled with a planet that looked a lot like Earth.
I played around on Titan for a while, running through the beautifully architectured streets and incorporated rivers of shimmering liquid. All around people were driving strange automobiles and most tourists were walking around in just as much awe as myself. I played hide and seek with some locals.

      -----

I sold my car and while on a train saw a huge (I’m noticing while writing this that a lot of things in my dreams are described as “huge”- I need a new adjective) alien ship in the sky and started shouting about it in panic. We turned a corner and saw a while city was under attack. In the city, police were trying to keep order but people were mutating into these fierce alien monsters. I got chased by mutants who were tearing people apart left right and centre before running back to the place where I sold my car- a strange workshop with a big lift in the centre. I went down the lift into a bunker that was built into the side of a mountain, kind of like those pillboxes that machine gunners sat in during WWI, except several hundred meters off the ground. There I listened to the radio and heard about a resistance group.
While keeping guard with a bunch of new additions to the group, a helicopter came. We weren’t sure what it was so we hid. My friend threw a grenade at them before we realised they were the good guys. I got in this giant plasma gun and started firing into the valley. The alien ships came and caused the cliff to collapse so we jumped into these mech things and strode around tearing shit up.

It gets a bit hazy after that, except for the final revelation: The aliens turned out to be black people.

      "Extra-T-Rextrial"

I was standing outside, in a residential area of some large city. There were a lot of other people around, and it seemed to just be an ordinary recreational function; a party or picnic or something. After a little while, I began to notice that there were a bunch of helicopters flying about the airspace around us. I couldn't exactly tell what they were doing at first, but, after some observation, I saw that they were dumping water on a location a few miles away, as if there was some out of control fire raging. I watched for a little while, and it appeared that the vertical cascades of white - that I knew to be water - began turning into horizontal streaks of white - that I knew to be missile exhuast. It was now obvious that many of these helicopters were combat helicopters, and they were firing upon something, though I couldn't tell what, at the moment.

The people around me began watching the skies, and I could see many of them pointing off in a direction that I couldn't see, because of a large building that was blocking my view. I also saw that many of the combat choppers were heading over in that direction as well. Curious, I walked closer to the nearest group of people and rounded the corner, looking out toward whatever it was that they were pointing at. In the sky, above the skyline of a city that seemed rather New Yorkian, I saw an large mass of alien ships penetrating a firey wall of white and orange clouds, the sun directly behind them, and showing little more than black silouhettes against a golden sky. We were being invaded.

For just a moment, I stopped and tried to think about this. This had to be a dream, right? Unfortunately, I didn't have the where-with-all to do many reality checks, and I quickly became convinced - because of the vividness of the dream (I had taken B6 and melatonin last night), that I was awake, and that this was really it: Extraterrestrial contact had been confirmed, and we were already at war.

Giving us very little time to get adjusted to the idea that our planet was being attacked, huge beams of orange light came blasting down from the low-hanging haze of clouds, though in a fashion that wouldn't allow me to see where they were coming from. These beams of light would sweep across the ground, destroying everything (and everyone) in their paths; tearing nearby buildings down and burning the innocent people - that they were obviously aiming at - down to lifeless skeletons. Panic set in, and everyone began to run for their lives. (It was a lot like in the movie War of the Worlds, when they are running through the streets and the alien weapons are just decimating everything around.).

I knew I had to get out of this field / lot that I was in, or I would be a sitting duck, so I began to run toward a nearby industrial area while these bright orange death-rays were raining down from the sky and just obliterating everything and everyone around me. There were a few times where I kept looking back and forth - from my destination to the utter destruction around me - wondering if I was going to make it. After what seemed like an eternity, I made it across the street to the industrial yard. It was then, though, that my sprint slowed to a jog, and my jog slowed to a brisk walk. I was beginning to realize how crazy this was. There was just no way. Despite how vivid the dream was - and my lack of doing an actual reality check - I was able to finally realize that I was dreaming. Immediately, I turned around and faced the invasion. Some of the DC's that had been running with me asked what I was doing, and I told them that this was just a dream, and I was about to go back and kick some alien ass. Before I knew it, I had an army of DC's with me, looking to get some payback, and we were headed over to the large buildings that decorated the skyline, which had the majority of the alien ships hovering over them.

Soon, we were climbing some dark stairwell - moving up one of the buildings that the aliens had begun storming on foot. There was a small ordeal with a staircase, where some woman said that the stairs were broken, and she was trying to walk up it, but it was more like she was trying to walk horizontally up a wall, while the staircase was pivoted on some weird angle. It really just looked like a 'clipping' issue in a video game (which makes sense, because this dream came to me after playing hours of Skyrim). We reached the top of the stairwell, and there was a doorway barred with metal obstacles. We pulled them out of the way and, as soon as we opened the door, a lizard-being (which looked a lot like a velociraptor, but seemed to have more human gestures) stood in the opening, snarling at us. I moved positioned myself between the dino and the rest of the group, and he locked eyes at me. I could see him curling back. He was going to pounce on me at any moment. When he did, though, I was ready for him. He lunged and I just grabbed the sides of his head, using his momentum to throw him over the side of the stairway railing. He fell down the center of the stairwell and crashed through the floor, disappearing into the darkness under the building.

Going into this new area, after walking through the door and trying to look out the window, I could see that there was an enormous lizard scaling the outside of the building. Immediately, I rushed forward and jumped at the wall with both fists out in front of me. Ripping through the concrete wall, I delivered a charging double-fist to the monster's upper-body. We were now dozens of stories above the ground - the giant beast and I falling off of what revealed itself to be a skyscraper, and not just any old tall building. It was then, falling toward the street, that I was able to see that this creature seemed much more like a T-Rex, but bigger - almost going for that Godzilla '98 look. I couldn't take too long to look at it, because I was falling toward the ground, and wondering about how much it might hurt if I hit the pavement, with the dream being as vivid as it was.

Quickly, I tried to orient myself and get in 'flying mode', because I really wasn't looking forward to hitting ground. It took a moment for me to change my direction, but I was able to fly forward, and land against a nearby building, sticking myself to the wall like Spider-Man. When I turned to look back toward the giant dino, it had already righted itself and was jumping through the air toward me. Immediately, I flew off to one side and the beast crashed into the building. It didn't miss a beat, though, and was soon chasing after me as I flew through the street. Turned out that - even without wings - this dino was more of a dragon (more Skyrim), and was actually breathing that same type of orange beam that I'd seen earlier and thought was coming from the alien ships, themselves.

The chase went on for a little while, and ended when I flew up to the support structure of an elevated train track. I positioned myself between some of the railings, and the dino/dragon jumped up to get me (and even without wings, this thing jumped like a giant raptor). It missed me, and I moved myself further down. Then, somewhat entangled in the steel structure, the dragon reared its head back and blew a massive stream of fire/energy in my direction, just as the train was coming overhead. Again, I flew out of the way at the last moment, and the dragon completely destroyed the supports, causing the entire skyway track to come crashing down to the city streets below - train and all.

Watching that awesome sight was the last thing I remember.

      Dream One (a)
      "Extinction-Level Event"

(This was the most horrifying, emotional set of dreams I have had in a while...)

      The Earth had been invaded.
High above what could have been every major city in the world, as far as I knew, massive alien spacecrafts hovered. They had come on the scene and looked down upon us, over the span of about 3 days. We never once got to see what these aliens looked like. Instead, they communicated with us telepathically, without ever having to leave their vessels. At first, they didn't say much. I really don't remember if they said anything at all, the first few days. They just kind of loomed over our heads, apparently observing us. Their intentions, at this point, were completely unclear.

Life somewhat continued, even with the presence of our 'visitors,' looming overhead. One day, I had made a few rounds to see some old friends. I know I saw quite a few of my people, but the only ones that really stood out were my baby's mom (who I'll call "G"), and an old "friend with benefits." There was another ex who I believe I might have seen as well, but I'm not exactly sure. Anyway, at one point, G and girl #2 sort of merged and became one person, with different attributes from both (and, of course, I didn't find this strange enough to become lucid ). We went to a fast-food restaurant and either the person on the drive-thru headset couldn't hear me, or there was some other reason why the girl(s) ended up having to go inside through a back door, while I pulled the car around front. Later that night, we were back at an apartment that we were apparently sharing, except I had my own room, and she had one. Despite the knowledge that there were enormous, city-sized space-ships hovering high over our heads, it seemed like a pretty normal night. She ended up going to sleep early, and it wasn't until well into the night that I remembered she had the bag of food with her, and it was now locked away in her room. I didn't feel like waking her up to get it, though, and just shrugged it off. The next morning, she was simply back to G's normal self. All resemblance of the other girl had vanished. It was on the third day (I believe) of their occupation, that the aliens finally decided to give us some insight. Not bothering to pay us any door-to-door visits, the beings simply beamed their thoughts into our heads. We were informed, rather matter-of-factly, that our entire species was about to be exterminated, and that, since they had took up positions that would allow their weapons to sweep over the entire planet, any attempts of escape were completely unnecessary. Armageddon was upon us, and there was nothing we could do about it.

Panic. It barely even had enough time to set in, before the bombing began. Thunderous booms shook our apartment, each one seeming as if were right outside our window. I was absolutely terrified - not so much of death, itself, but the thought of suffering until death. G was, surprisingly, not very affected by the situation. She seemed 100% sure that we were not going to suffer; that it would be quick, painless and peaceful. The chorus of explosions - stomping around the area outside - didn't instill the same sort of confidence within me. With my eyes wide with fear, and my voice the epitome of hysteria, I screamed at her the possibility of our building collapsing, and the two of us being caught in the rubble for God knows how long, our bodies broken, buried, and left to die, waiting for hope that would never come. Amazingly, she responded with a scoff. "Pfft. That only happens in movies," she said. I was floored, immediately switching from frightened to furious that she would just dismiss such a likely scenario. I said "what are you talking about?! Being get trapped in collapsed buildings all the time!! Don't you watch the news?!" My tirade was cut short by a few more deafening blasts, even closer than the previous ones. The entire building shook, and I was actually thrown off of my feet. This one apparently rattled G as well, because we both grabbed each other and huddled together on the bed - our heads ducking in unison; hearts jumping out of our chests with each successive bang from outside.

I was a complete wreck. I don't know that I've ever been so scared. Unable to control my fear, I burst into tears, absolutely terrified of the horrible death that would soon be coming for us. But, once again, G remained rather stoic. She held me close, cradling my head to her, and actually began singing to me to console me! (It was just the most incredible situation, seeing as how I'm usually the one with my head screwed on during stressful times.) Suddenly, there was one final BOOM, right on top of us, and everything went black. (The whole thing reminded me of the final scene in Cloverfield.)

In the 3 or 4 seconds of darkness, I received a message. I can't recall if I saw it in my field of vision, or if it was just telepathic. The message was just kind of 'there.' The message was "You and your daughter..." and that was it. I have absolutely no idea what it was supposed to mean, or where it came from. (Oddly enough, my daughter never made an appearance in the dream.)

      Dream One (b) (FA)
I suddenly 'awoke' on the same bed, eyes full of tears. I looked around the room, which seemed completely undisturbed, and found G sitting on the floor. There were pizza boxes stacked on some of the furniture, and G looked as if we'd just been lounging around the house, shooting the shit all day. Sitting up with a start, I frantically asked her about the aliens, and why the bombing would have just suddenly stopped. She looked at me like she didn't have any clue what the fuck I was talking about. My mind raced. I was thinking that there was just no way I could have imagined all of that. With an extreme sense of urgency, I asked her to tell me what the date was. She didn't know it, so I asked her what day of the week it was, and she said Tuesday. Tuesday, I remembered, was the day that the aliens had actually showed up. I had been transported back to Tuesday...but there were no aliens this time! The only thing I could keep asking myself was 'How is this possible??'

G looked over at the window, a bright light flooding into the room. Passively, she said "that's really pretty," and I was immediately alarmed. I looked out the window, myself, expecting to seeing the bright, swelling light of a nuclear explosion, ready to brace for yet another inevitable shock wave. However, there was no explosion. It was just the sun, rising into the sky, at the beginning of this new day. There really were no aliens, this time. I wasn't able to believe - for one minute - that what I had experienced was a dream. Instead, I figured that I was somehow given another chance at life. I had somehow been transported back to that Tuesday, but without the threat of attack. The human race was no longer in danger of being exterminated. Relief doesn't even begin to describe how I felt. I was practically shaking. The emotions flooded back into me, and I began to cry softly. My eyes remind dry, but if the tears had come, they would have been tears of joy for simply being alive.

(When I woke up from this dream, I felt like I had a hole in my chest. I was completely emotionally drained, and I just sat and stared at the floor for a good five minutes. There is really nothing like honestly believing you are about to die, and then suddenly waking up, safe and sound in your bed. I was numb for a good portion of the day, after coming back from this insane trip.)

      "Invasion Evasion"

(I watched Skyline, for the first time, last night. It was an 'ok' movie, but the visual effects were tight as hell.)
The earliest thing I remember was being in a camp-like atmosphere, with a few friends, in a trailer. Someone had a dog; like a lab mix or something, and I was playing with her, rubbing her belly. After a short while, the dog began to get really agitated and started glaring at the door. Some creepy shit happened, where a person came to the door and then turned into an alien, and we had to escape the trailer. I believe we pushed the creature into the bonfire and burned it, but this part is all really hazy. Soon after, I was alone, and running through the streets. The major attack had already begun, and there were larger aliens - dozens of stories tall - walking amongst the buildings and roadways. The city was completely destroyed and, no matter where I went or tried to hide, these things would always find me. The creatures that were too big to fit inside the buildings, would send out these long tentacles (like the ones in the movie), and snake them through the buildings to find me. I ended up dying, over and over, in this dream. Every time the tentacles would find me, they would either pull me back into the main body of the alien, or just splatter me all over the place, wherever I had been hiding.

After respawning a couple of times, I knew I had to get out of the city, so I began to make a bee-line toward the edge of town, sprinting as long and hard as my body would allow me - and I remember being able to run for miles, without losing steam. But these tentacles were relentless. An alien could shoot the tentacles from its "hand", and the rope-like appendages would literally travel for miles - seemingly to endless distances - through the air, to chase their target. Again, I died quite a few times, while trying to escape the city; simply respawning again at the beginning and continuing to run, taking another route. There were times that I would try to steal cars, and some of them would have this "gunk" on them. Whenever I drive those cars, the "gunk" would begin to spread around the outside of the vehicle, trying to 'cocoon' itself in this alien sludge. I would see this happening and have to bail out of the car, before it completely encased me. What's more, is that some of these droplets of "gunk" would actually spring to life, and form whole aliens - each maybe 10 feet tall and built like bipedal elephants - which would then join the chase. Running from these things kind of felt like maneuvering through the game Prototype.

It was like I was the only person in the city, and this entire alien force was centered on me, the whole time. There were just so many of them, and I was beginning to feel hopeless. After having to repeat this scenario, over and over, upon each death, I just wasn't feeling very confident that I would ever get out of this Hell. Suddenly, thankfully, just as despair was kicking in, I realized that this all had to be a dream. I was still on the run, though, as these things just weren't letting up, and anytime they would catch me, they would just annihilate me before I could do anything about it. Still respawning after each death, I took to flying, instead of running. It took me a little while to get up to speed, in my flying, as this dream was very vivid, and I was having a hard time manipulating it. I tried some telekinesis on the pursuing tentacles, but wasn't able to affect them.

Once I got the hang of flying, though, the flight/chase sequences were absolutely sick. The easiest way I knew to keep my speed up, was to imagine myself as a missile. The thing was, though, that these tentacles were just as fast, so just because I could fly, didn't mean that I was getting out of the city an easier. I was empowered by my lucidity, though, and was more having fun with it, than frantically fleeing for my life. I weaved through the city at breakneck speed, an expanding trail of tentacles, following closely behind me. It was one of those zigging, zagging, dizzying, high-tech chases that you would see in any major, sci-fi blockbuster - just screaming through the sky, with impossible agility. Sometimes I would land on the street, to gain my bearings - pivoting and then launching off in another direction, just as the tentacles whipped passed me and then arced around to follow once again. I remember being chased at just the same height of some of the tallest rooftops, and then dropping toward the ground, head first, to try to throw off the oncoming appendages. I was going so fast that there was a single moment, there, where I worried about 'what happens if I'm not able to pull up, in time?' Even though I knew that I was dreaming, I wasn't really looking to slamming headfirst, into the street, so I pulled up on my own trajectory, as I could, nearly skimming the ground and then continuing to rocket down the street, the tentacles still keeping pace at every twist and turn. I also recall that the aliens could talk, and they all spoke with the same voice - as if it were a collective consciousness - which reminded me something of the Joker, from The Dark Knight.

I don't really remember whether or not I ever made it out of the city. I don't think so, though.

    15. NightCrawler's Twilight Tales

A Dream? Or a real alien invasion!

My family and I were waiting for my mom to get home from the doctor. She got back and we found out she had cancer, so she didn’t have much time left. I went to some corporate location with my family and ran into Amanda(my cousin). We decided we had to save my Mom. We went into the buildings and found secret passageways and elevators. We knew we had to get to a secret top floor room to find the cure for cancer. Fox(from WANTED) showed up and helped us out some. She showed us another elevator. We got in and it opened up to a top floor suite and my high school teacher was there. I was shocked she knew the cure.

Then I was on my porch all of the sudden at a cookout. I went inside and a mysterious, dark haired guy was there. He came in from the bathroom skylight and did all these weird ninja flips and stuff. He landed and introduced himself as NateLec. He gave me some sneakers to give to my little cousin. Then we went outside and the sky turned an ominous black as dark clouds swirled overhead. I clung to my friend who was standing nearby. I was really scared. Then tons of tornadoes came down form the sky and they were coated in yellow, acidic bubbles. I kept thinking to myself ‘This is a dream please wakeup!’ It did not work so I decided this was a dream and I was still asleep or it was a real alien invasion.
